All the electrics worked OK in the water was good. There is a beautiful view of the Mississippi and the river was not high so you could walk along the bank and watch the river flow. There's also a lot of grass and open areas where a dog can run. Ours is on a training collar so he could investigate all around and you didn't have to worry about him bothering anybody. There's lots of space available. It's a pretty large park. The people were friendly when we checked in and everything went well. They had one bad review which worried us But for us everything was OK and we would come back again.

It's bad. Not long but pot holes big enough to swim in. The campground is old and it shows. They obviously just use their location as a way to get guests because as far as the grounds it's bad. I will say the bathhouse was clean though. Easily the worst campground we have stayed at in our 18 years of RVing and my first 1 star ever for a campground that I can think of. We came around the Thanksgiving holiday, there were only a handful of old campers that you could tell people lived there, but the majority seemed like travelers passing through for a couple nights. There was quite a few campers there, we loved the full hookups, 90% of the time we're boondockers, so it was a perk for us. Some complained about the grounds being trashy and unkept, I don't agree, I thought it was fine, and I'm picky about cleanliness, perhaps just a couple of campers with stuff outside, no big deal. Do NOT go in through the Walnut Grove entrance. Check in was easy, super friendly. We walked over to the shop, they had Christmas stuff out, it was very nice. We felt very safe! We'll be back next year when we come and visit family.

I stayed in number 17. 1) Empty the trashcans. It appears they removed the dumpsters that may have been near the bathrooms and now only have small trashcans lining the area. They fill up quickly and they don't appear to be emptied regularly. Also, there's a note saying they will pick up trash left at the end of your lot, but I saw one bag that was there two days. 2) Fix the air conditioning in the laundry/bathrooms. It's so crazy hot in this building. They also need to hook the dryers back up to the vents as they just put hot steamy air into the building. 3) The drink machine outside the laundry room isn't working. Why is it there? Fix this. 4) The wifi doesn't give out an IP address. I tried both my laptop and phone. As a person that's done computer work for 40 years, I think I know how this should work. Either reboot the routers or fix the units. 5) There is no shade. Your unit will sit in the baking sun all day. I left my shades drawn trying to keep the heat down. 6) You have to walk around the casino to get to the entrance. The door that should be accessible from the RV park is locked. I did find out that there's a button you can push to access this door. 7) There is cable, but the picture is extremely bad. 8) During any rain storm the water doesn't drain from this pad. It basically flooded up to my door making access very difficult. 9) There is a sheet in the laundry room with phone numbers for local ISPs. Listing, of all things, Netscape, NetZero, Juno and a few others that don't even exist anymore. Any computer person can tell you even AOL has almost done completely away with dialup.
