Liquor store with a whole lot more. Hidden gem in Ramona that most people probably just drive by on their way to work or home. Moved to Ramona about a year ago and discovered that this place makes the best pizza in the city. I especially loved the bbq chicken pizza. Call ahead and it'll be ready in 20 minutes for pickup. Terrible online customer service. They don't ship the entire order. Their solution is refund the money and make me order again. Then they don't bother refunding the sales tax when issuing the refund. So they want me to reorder, pay sales tax again, and incur a shipping charge. It's not that hard to put the missing items in a box and ship it. Terrible experience. read more

Pretty hard to judge this place since I am an avid believer that even bad pizza is better than no pizza. It has to be made with... I dunno... soylent green to get a bad review (or be Filippi's, but that's another story) Ordered one of their combos, which includes a large two-topping pizza, a choice of pasta, a house salad and a 2 liter of soda for $32. Delivery is free even though we are on the complete opposite side of Ramona from them. And it took 45 minutes from the time I called til the time I was stuffing my face-hole. The pizza (Hawaiian) was good and had plenty of pineapple so even after Wee One stole all the pineapple he wanted off the top of the pizza, there was still some left for the rest of us to eat (#toddlerlife). Flavor was good, but nothing to write home about. The lasagna was okay (lot of sauce, some cheese, not many noodles) but I probably couldn't tell it from a Stouffers. The garlic bread was awful though. It definitely was comparable to the stuff you get in the freezer aisle, but was super chewy, almost as if it had been thawed but not actually baked to achieve maximum crispy yumminess. Nice selection of craft beer for being a relatively small store. Employees have always been friendly and salads look good (though I haven't tried one yet). Free delivery w/$25 minimum purchase! (As of Nov 2015 - shows delivery hours as Mon-Thu 11am-8:30pm, Fri-Sat 11am-9:30pm and Sun 10am-8pm.) It would be nice if they had gas. It's a little misleading when you see a gas sign (one day my husband was counting on getting gas there) ... it's essentially an ad for their sister store in town. I'll admit I rarely rave about a place. But this place is seriously nothing short of amazing. (Edit: With a few caveats). They deliver. Delivery change is $2.50. For anything. (Edit: But minimum delivery amount is $20). And they deliver ANYTHING. How is that even possible? Cigarettes, alcohol (I didn't ask about firearms but seems doable). Probably even tampons...I can't picture the male delivery drivers doing that, but hey, they're extremely good sports. Delivery starts at noon, which is a slight drawback. Edit: And/but the total always manages to get over $35, even when I just ordered a few bottles of Perrier. Odd, that. Anther Edit: I recently started asking for an itemization of the bill, since it always seemed quite high. I had always ordered with the intention of arriving at the minimum order amount of $20, but by the time the order arrived the amount was closer to $30 or above. Puzzling and Bothersome. Welp, it seems that their prices have gone up by a couple bucks since their recently published (and widely disseminated via snail mail) flyer. Not a nice surprise. Minus 1 star for being sneaky. Minus another star for not telling the customer the total amount over the phone. Pro tip: ask for your total over the phone before it's delivered. But The kitchen /deli is to DIE FOR. The vegetarian pizza I ordered weighed a ton. The food is phenomenal. Pic included. (Edit: added a second pic of my breakfast pizza which I thought would be $10.99 but ended up being $12.99 when it arrived at my door. I mean, it's a nice pizza, but I could have gotten two delivered from Dominos for the same price.) In Ramona, this place is the absolute best thing I've ever witnessed because delivery and all. My point: Who wants to drive while partying? Get everything delivered. Don't move off your couch,...much less get behind the wheel of a car. The owners customer service is the worst I've had in a while. Ordered at the counter to an employee and walked up to the register to pay where the owner was. He asked "what did you order" and we did not receive a "hello" or anything.. just a "what did you get?" He was extremely rude and just assumed we knew what to do while our order was cooking. I placed a $130.00 order online, on the website it says you will receive your order in 5 business days. I did not receive my order in 5 business days. They use Fedex for shipping, they didn't deliver in time now I have to spend additional money to drive to a Fedex location and pick up my order. Just a damn shame you can spend that kind of money and have to spend additional money to actually receive what you've paid for. Not to mention this stuff is for a family members wedding and I'll have to rush around to get it and make it to the wedding. Stephen and all the employees are friendly. This place is on the right leaving Ramona. Since I live on Mussey Grade, it's the closest place to home. If you buy bottled soft drinks (remember that I am the diet soda guru), you'll cringe from the price BUT they have a soda fountain and that price is reasonably priced. The deli is super yum. They sell a mean breakfast pizza and make their own salads and sandwiches. They also make regular pizzas and I hear they're pretty good. read more

Rainy night in town and I didn't feel like cooking. Decided to try pizza delivery from Country Wine and Spirits. The gal on the phone taking my order was very friendly and the pizza chef was accommodating. I can't eat dairy so I requested half of my Hawaiian Pizza be made without cheese. He said it wouldn't be perfect but he would gladly make it that way. Delivery took about 45 minutes - exactly what I was quoted. The pizza arrived warm and as requested - half cheese half no cheese. Just had the worst food experience I've had in the 9 months I've been living in Ramona. First let me say that I picked up a pizza from here a couple of times on my way home and it wasn't bad, although they add ricotta cheese to a Margharita pizza and it's a bit overdone. That said, I asked the lady at the counter if they deliver to my area and she said " if you receive our flyer through the mail (which we do) then we deliver there." Great! Decided last night to give the delivery service a try. Called at 5:20 pm to order an X-large pizza and their cheesy garlic bread. The lady on the phone took my order and my credit card and said thanks and hung up. No mention of how long it would take. Okay. After 50 minutes, I made a phone call to check up on the ETA. I had to give her my contact info again as she couldn't find it and after a couple of minutes was told, "he's left." At the TWO HOURS AND SEVEN MINUTE mark, I called again and she told me she was contacting her manager. She laid the phone down and that's the last I heard from her. A minute or so later, the driver is at the door with a smile and a "sorry, lady." No coupon, no reduction in price or comp of any kind. Open the pizza and, of course, it's cold. To top it off, the "cheesy garlic bread" which was 5 bucks, was two slices of white bread with a slab of mozzarella on each slice and not a hint of garlic anywhere, and was of course, cold. I live next door to this lovely deli/ liquor convenience store and I order here 1-2 times a week. My daughter and I either walk to pick up our order or I have it delivered . The food is always freshly made and always tasty. My favorite sandwich is the veggie which has sprouts, tomato, lettuce, fresh avocado , carrots , pepperchini , pepper jack cheese (my preference)and cream cheese. I order it almost every time!My family also likes their Philly cheesesteak sand which, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, fresh chef salad, fresh antipasto salad and we have tried many of their gourmet hand-made fresh pizzas. Despite being a small place , they are a full service deli with so many cold and hot sub choices, pizzas, pastas, wraps,grilled chicken and ribs and much more! They even have a covered patio with many tables you can enjoy your food right there or pre-packaged deli sandwiches wraps salads etc if your in a super hurry as well . The family who owns and operates this deli is always so friendly and accommodating which is another reason I keep coming back ! They deliver anything in the store with just a $20 minimum and it's been nice because so many times I've needed a gallon of milk , pack of cigs or something small that I'm not thrilled about driving into to town for just one item and we just order lunch Togo and they deliver the items with our food order.
