Fantastic campus of different buildings to stay in. Right on the Paluxy River in Glen Rose. We stayed in the Prairie House North. Nice rustic room with a slew of things to do. We sat at the fire pit and walked the entire grounds. The next day we fed the horses, played with the ducks and pet the rabbits. There is a chapel on the land in addition to a walking trail along the river. Next time we plan on staying in one of the air streams or railcar. Brilliant time and we will be back again. In fact, we plan on using the location for our oldest son's wedding.

Such a cute little spot to go camping, about an hour and a half from Dallas. We stayed in one of the vintage airstreams- they're comfortable, and there's so much to do. Right outside the airstream there's a picnic table, some lounge chairs, a swing, and a hammock. They also had a little wagon with a soccer ball, football, and a checkers game on the table. There's so many animals that you're able to feed and interact with. It's right near the river- I wouldn't recommend swimming in the river, but there's a nice path to walk next to it. There are several fire pits near the breakfast barn that are nice to use in the evenings, and the hose is right there to put out your fire when finished. This is definitely a place we plan on coming to again once it's a little cooler out.

I cannot even begin to describe what joy you will feel going back in time when you stay here. It's the most serene, peaceful wonderful place for the entire family. Outdoor fun is the name of the game. Situated right on the river the fun never stops. Our family has been here twice now and it gets better every time. Wendy and her staff do an amazing job to make sure your family has the time of their lives. Cannot recommend this gem enough and to only be 70 miles from DFW is an added bonus. Check it out. It's the best kept secret in the area! I am pretty sure we have now established a new tradition for our family!

This place is amazing. My son loves the concept of a tiny house. We rented the Santa Fe rail car for the weekend - WOW. They did a great job converting it to a cabin. Totally tricked out the train theme (mother favorite of my sons). Very quiet. Room to wander and chill. Petting zoo with goats, donkey, chicken, ducks and a pig. Couple of horses that wander around grazing. Deer fill the field each evening and morning. Close to downtown Glen Rose. Definitely recommended.

I don't know we're to start with this amazing place. We stayed for the weekend in one of there airstreams and it was absolutely wonderful! We were tucked away in the woods and it really felt like we were camping in the forest. The airstream had all the amenities that a hotel has just in a more campy intimate setting. Being able to go to the petting zoo with the kids to feed and pet the goats or donkey or even the horse was amazing. They have a barn we're they serve breakfast in the morning but couldn't experience it this time because of the heat but will definitely be back to experience it next time. The owner was super nice and very accommodating always there to help if needed. We will be back very soon!!

Thank you for the great weekend. We enjoyed getting out and spending quality time with our family and friends. BBQ, camp fires, ball games, lots of animals to entertain, fishing, and hiking in the woods. Kids fossil hike, and scavenger hunt was a great addition. Our bed was great we sunk right inn! We will be back for sure. This was by far the most entertaining most accommodating B&B type place that we have ever stayed at.

Country Woods Inn is fantastic B&B to get away and enjoy family. We had 11 dads that wanted some quality time with our 10 year old daughters and this place was perfect. All 12 girls absolutely loved all the animals that they played with all day..rabbits, horses, donkeys, pigs, ducks, chickens, rosters, etc etc. All 50 acres are beautiful with tons to do like hiking, basketball, bowling, horse shoes, swings, crafts, scavenger hunt, fire pits, smores and great access to the river for swimming/fishing. Dads enjoyed waking up to roosters and having their big breakfast in the "barn". The place is just beautiful and the houses are very well done. The owner and staff are as friendly and accommodating as it gets. We will definitely be back to get away from our day to day in Dallas. Again, a big "thanks" to the folks at Country Woods Inn!! See you again soon!!

Ask for yge rail car, really nice space to get away from it all.

Every person raved about how beautiful it was. The option to rent your decor and centerpieces was amazing and so handy not to have to separately buy, put up, or take down on your own!! Unfortunately the decor manager was frustratingly disorganized. But the rest of the staff was world class and fell all over themselves to be helpful. I can't think of a more perfect place to have a wedding.

Everything I rented from the venue was set up & ready to go the morning of my Wedding (stress free). They gave me a list of vendors for ideas. I ended using the bartender & security they had offered. The owners are absolutely amazing. They answered any questions I had at a timely manner, they let me change things constantly (I think I was changing things at rehearsal), they were there on wedding day for any help I needed. They are GREAT people. Kelsie (rental coordinator) is absolutely wonderful too. She helped & helped come up with ideas. She met us at there storage unit any time I asked. She let me add things and take off things without getting frustrate. She went with the flow and that was perfect for me. IF YOU PLAN ON BOOKING THIS VENUE DO IT WITHOUT ANY QUESTION. Getting to Spot: Little hard to find (depending on app you…read moreuse) Roads are rough, would recommend SUV Parking is grass but during rain, gets muddy Farmhouse cabin: Good views Have to take stairs to 2nd story (if your room is upstairs) AC window units don't keep the room consistent temp Shower is literally less than 5ft away from bed -just a curtain separated water from same bed -shower floor made of rounded pebble rocks (not as bad as some say it is). -hot water is fast and consistent. Really nice. No Closet, limited amount of places to hang clothes and towels for drying purposes. TV didn't seem to work Good views of parking lot and farmland beyond Easy walk to even hall on property Shades are questionable, people can see into room if shades aren't aligned properly. One keurig coffee pod maker. Works well 1 sink only, Lots of furniture to put clothes on, night stands too. Refrig is 4ft tall, limited space, worked as expected Laundry hamper provided in room. Event Hall: A/C worked well Plenty of seating Shuffleboard in poor shape, had mold etc on it Pool table ok, slanted due to concrete it's on. Sound/PA system is awesome Bar area really nice iCE machine works; Sliding glass convenient-style fridge in kitchen, works Full kitchen available Spring full (NOT QUEEN) x2 in room - horrible to sleep on. Felt every spring, every movement about spring'd out of bed (bouncy) Right next to window ac unit, got frozen Other bed next to shower, couldn't feel AC Other info: pretty expensive even with big group, didn't feel it was worth it for the rest expected. ATV was reportedly $500 for a day (no thanks). Wildlife on fenced side of property.

Pre-Trip Experience:…read more Before our visit, I spoke with Shy over the phone, and she was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. She answered all my questions and got me even more excited about everything the ranch had to offer. Getting There: We visited for my wife's birthday, bringing along our 11-year-old and 2-year-old. We arrived on a Tuesday and stayed until Thursday--it was quiet at night and incredibly peaceful. Traveling from Round Rock, the GPS guided us directly to the property without any issues. The drive was enjoyable, with scenic views of cows and lush greenery. A few days before arrival, we received an email with everything we needed--gate code, Wi-Fi password, parking instructions, and more--making check-in smooth. Upon arrival at our cabin, we were greeted by the sight of zebras and Jack the camel, which was an incredible surprise! The Camellia Cabin: First Impressions: Cool, cozy, and well-designed--felt like a tiny home. Living Area: Spacious fridge and ample cabinet space. Stove available for cooking. TV, loveseat, and a comfortable chair. Loft Area: Two full-sized beds (low ceiling but cozy). Bathroom: Clean with a sliding door. Water was consistently hot (bring your own soap--mentioned in the email). Main Bedroom: Full-sized bed with two closets. The AC is positioned above the bed--great for cooling down, but be prepared for direct airflow. Extras: Fireplace for s'mores. Plug-in bug zapper. Plenty of firewood provided. The Property: Beautiful and spacious with plenty to explore! Wildlife: Baby goats, peacocks, and geese freely roaming the grounds. Outdoor Activities: Swings and grassy areas perfect for picnics. Bikes available for riding around the property. Lovely pool area for relaxing. The Extras: Safari Tour (Highly Recommended!) A 600-acre tour behind a gated section of the property. Our guide (whose name I sadly can't recall, but I believe it started with "A") was amazing--his passion and knowledge of the animals made the experience unforgettable. We saw wildebeests, bison, red stags, llamas, and more. When it started to rain, our guide quickly pulled my into a shed to keep us dry and continued sharing fascinating details about the animals and property. A must-do experience--kudos to the staff! Horseback Riding (Trip Highlight!) Just outside the main gate (about 9 yards to the left). We were greeted by Kenneth and his associate, who were welcoming and professional. My wife rode Oil Money, while I was paired with Geronimo--my first time on a horse! I was nervous at first, but Geronimo was a pro--he knew exactly what he was doing, even if I didn't! The ride lasted over an hour, and we felt like we got every penny's worth. Final Thoughts: Moon River Ranch exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available to answer questions. The property was stunning and offered so much to do. We truly made the most of our two-day stay and can't wait to return! If you're looking for a great place to eat, check out The Butcher's Cellar in Waco--about 30 minutes from the property. Fantastic food and well worth the drive! Highly recommend this incredible getaway--thank you, Moon River Ranch!
