We moved to Boulder with our daughter and since my wife and I both work, we needed a great preschool. Thankfully, my sister in law referred me to Countryside Montessori, having heard great things through her friends and neighbors. We visited the school and fell in love right away. We were impressed by the teachers, the love for the kids, the practical life materials, good manners of the kids, the amazing outdoor area, and learning environment. The tenure of the teachers is a testament to how great the school is, and Countryside had by far the longest of any school we visited. The Director Nancy and her husband are smart, innovative, and industrious, and they run this not for profit school as if all of the kids were their own.
Our daughter mad friends right away and began blossoming from a somewhat shy toddler to responsible, warm and thoughtful girl. She excelled at math and reading and stayed through Kindergarten to take advantage of the 1:5 teacher to student ratio. She entered the public elementary school, with more maturity, more skills and has remained in the advanced levels of her classes (material is 1 to 2 grade levels above the standard.
Our second daughter was born while our first was at Countryside and just as the first left, our second was old enough to start (2.5 years). She also finished kindergarten at Countryside and will start in the public schools this year. In total, we had 7 amazing years at Countryside and are thankful for every day that our kids were there. Nancy brings unity to the school through her themed family dinners, science fairs, magic shows, holiday celebrations, field trips, and the annual fundraiser carnival which brings alumni back going back 25 years and helps fund capital improvements to the school. All the parents come together and help make this a one of a kind school that any parent would be thrilled to be a part of. Nancy does a great job keeping in touch, long after the kids have graduated. This is a hidden gem and the school of a lifetime not to be missed. read more
