Dr Khan quickly diagnosed what I needed and I was sent to the extremely capable Allyce to put a tiny cast on my finger. Okay, I know they deal with bigger problems, but the care they gave me for my little problem is deeply appreciated. Staff could not be friendlier, and they are eager to assist. Countryside Ortho has gone downhill in the last couple of years; it's easy to see why they are closing. The receptionist is okay. The PA was meh and she was a little flippant about the injury and subsequent care needed for a full recovery. The billing lady, Christina, is non-responsive despite promises to call back in 48 hours "at her convenience". Apparently doing her job and replying to people isn't convenient for her, absolutely ridiculous. The tech guy who fits people in casts, crutches and slings is good. Definitely wouldn't recommend following any of these folks to their next location for an appointment. Yikes! read more

I went to Inova for a broken hand, turns out a fractured two bones on the side of my hand. They sent the x-ray to Dr. Khan, he immediately recommended that they not try to reset it because it needed surgery/ wires. They were able to get me in to surgery within days. They did a great job on the surgery. I feel bad because I don't know the fellows name that does the casts, but what a nice guy. It's rare to find someone that takes so much pride in their work these days, truly outstanding. A master of his trade. Everyone else in the office was very kind and professional as well. They see you fast and they're accommodating,. Really outstanding job, this is a great practice! read more

Dr. Khan is great! He's very thorough and reassuring. His staff, not so much. Meg, the PA, is quite self righteous. Any major concerns or if she's says something is unusual, it's best to try and get the question answered by the doctor. I've discovered the answer to 2 of my concerns were reversed once I got it through to the doctor. Definitely avoid Laura, the physical therapist. Very rude. Really not necessary to put up with such individuals, especially when I have to pay for it. read more

I don't write a lot of reviews, but when an office is awful, I feel a duty to do this. This isn't a revenge review, it's an honest assessment of a poorly run office. The doctors are just meh from what we saw. We were referred here and they didn't really look at the referral and why we were there. But their support staff was the real problem. Billing lady named Christina was the worse. Doesn't know how to bill insurance and is so rude it was mind boggling. If everyone tells you it's you, you should show some customer service and try to do the job right. Other support staff there...oh my so frustrating to talk to. And when the doctor was alerted of this poor communication and behavior, no response. Front staff operation is a reflection of overall office quality. read more

This place. The doctor's at least Khan and Lorenzetti are great. The other providers are just there for a check. The support staff is great, the techs and such, But front desk and billing really need an overhaul. Their billing "manger" is just a rude, cold and unhappy person. Who obviously hates the public and answering simple questions pertaining to her job. Sent me to collections with no notice, which i can see some from reviews i am not the first. Front desk never told me I owed when being seen. Won't be going back thats for sure, just be weary of what you owe. AND FYI DO NOT BUY DME FROM THEM (KNEE BRACES, WRIST BRACE, ECT.) I came here after getting referred by my primary care provider to have my hand looked at. The Orthopedic doctor was really helpful and he was also able to operate on my hand and managed my pain. The staff was really helpful and the Doctor/Surgeon was really knowledgeable. I actually recommended him to my husband who also needed to see an orthopedic doctor. The doctor was able to give him some recommendations and after doing some steroid injections, he recommended a surgery that might be able to fix his problem. They helped him get approval from our insurance company and got him scheduled for surgery within a month. They ended up doing radial tunneling decompression on his left arm. The surgery went well and he's had his sutures removed. He is now going through physical therapy every week (whichbisbonly across the hall from the Ortho clinic) and he's slowly getting more use and functions back with his left arm. We've got a long way to go but we are really happy with their staff and how they've taken care of us. I highly recommend if you ever need any Ortho care! read more

I waited a long time to see how all of this turned out - now it's time to tell what happened to me at Countryside Orthopedics. I woke up on 3 May 2021 to a hot, painful knee. I was out of town, so I had to wait until I returned to get an appointment - I was able to be seen three days after returning to town. I explained to Dr. Williams that I'd been rolling luggage, running up/down stairs, etc., perfectly fine the night before (2 May) - but woke up in pain, with redness, swelling, bruising, and heat. I could barely walk on it. I explained the sudden onset to Dr. Williams and I said it felt very much like when I'd torn a tendon in my heel years ago. He said it couldn't be anything like that because I 'would have known when it happened.' Dr. Williams did an X-ray and diagnosed me with M17.0 Bilateral primary osteoarthritis of knee. He gave me a cortisone shot...which did nothing, and told me to get a brace. I started physical therapy across the hall...after several visits, (they're actually very nice, but 'cold laser' ie ~660nm of Deep Red light therapy?! ...it accomplished nothing...but you can look up the science on that - to each their own) I explained to one of the PTs that I am /not/ a complainer, but it wasn't getting *any* better. That PT encouraged me to call the office for an MRI. I called, left a message, no response. Called again - same effect. Their front desk staff like to spend a lot of time chatting with one another, but not actually working ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My chiropractor felt I likely had a torn meniscus. I called Countryside Orthopedics and asked to see their head doctor, Dr. Lower. I went in exceedingly unhappy, and while his bedside manner is impeccable, Dr. Lower upheld Dr. Williams' diagnosis of bilateral primary osteoarthritis of knee. (Just wait...stay with me on this...) I continued with physical therapy, as well as a chiropractor for SIX MONTHS. Finally my chiropractor told me to give up on Countryside Orthopedics, and call my family doctor to ask for an MRI. The results came back... I had a slightly torn meniscus (both sides of that leg) and.... ***My leg was BROKEN in TWO PLACES.*** ....I hobbled around on a BROKEN LEG, with a torn. meniscus. for. SIX. MONTHS. I also do /NOT/ have osteoarthritis! In my opinion, Dr. Williams and Dr. Lower were a complete ZERO on the helpful scale. The front desk was discombobulated and did not return my calls. I'm REALLY disappointed to have wasted so much time, co-pays (!!!), and been in PAIN for much longer than necessary. It is now August of 2022, and the breaks have healed, but it took much, much longer than necessary. So - yes, I apparently have a special talent of breaking my leg while sleeping - it would be /really/ nice to have had a doctor who was willing to LISTEN when I continued to say that it REALLY hurt! I would never recommend Countryside Orthopedics to anyone! read more

My experience was awful. They totally botched my tendon repair- Worst surgeon ever! I went to Countryside under a recommendation for a finger tendon repair - I am so sorry I did :( . The Dr (Kahn) seemed knowledgeable and confident. I elected to have the tendon repair done to my pinky finger. We discussed exactly what would be done. The day of the surgery things changed prior and Dr Kahn did not tell me until minutes before. The surgery was botched, it was evident from the post surgery. Before surgery I could move my finger but not fully straighten it - closing was fine. After surgery and rehab - my finger is completely immobilized and I can only move at the knuckle. The office staff was awful and impersonal- rude most times. I conferenced with Dr Kahn to redo the surgery but he stalled. So now I am left in a worse situation and needing to find a more competent surgeon to correct the botched surgery. I do not recommend- plenty of better surgeons out there. Warning - avoid this place and this surgeon ! read more

All of the staff has been wonderful with my six year old who has broke his leg who had a spiral fracture in his tibia from falling off a bike. Front desk staff is friendly. All of the staff speaks to both of my kids (not at them) which is appreciated. They explain everything that is going on and make sure all is healing nicely. My little guy was thrilled he got to choose his cast colors. Hoping for no more broken bones, but if there are more we will be back here for sure! read more

My daughter fractured her radius so we had an appointment here today and had a wonderful experience from check in to check out. The man who checked us in was friendly, quick, polite - we were sent to a room quickly and the DR came in and explained the process of the cast to us, then Yani put my daughter in her cast and he was the friendliest, nicest man! Seriously, give this guy a giant raise he's an amazing asset to your team! We were checked out by another man who was super nice, set up our follow up quickly and got us out of there seamlessly. The physical therapist are great, Receptionist not so much, she is in your business, and isn't nice. Front desk manager is slow to submit to insurance causing appointments to be missed and need for new referrals. She yells across the room to physical therapists as to what your here for and that violates hippa. She just makes you feel very uncomfortable every time you go there. She runs the wrong insurance through, make sure you double check this information when switching insurances. She makes u feel stressed out because she doesn't run the insurance information on time. and doesn't follow up with the patient about what's going on with coverage. To much of a hassle and stress to be dealing with pain and this at the same time. Your better off going somewhere else. read more

The front desk lack sense of care. They look down on small children, as if they are parasites. Even if you have well Behaved kids, they won't care. The nurse practitioner lady who has short hair, is very RUDE. No sense of compassion. She looks like she's just there. She completely ignores her patients. read more

This place was absolutely terrific. I went in to have a little growth on my foot looked at. The PA saw me early, did a thorough evaluation of both feet, sent me into an X-ray, and brought an ultrasound machine into the room. I was evaluated and the studies were done in less than 25 minutes, and I was given a diagnosis (which is nothing at all serious) in under an hour. I got there at 8:00AM, and was dreading running all over creation for tests the rest of the day. My boss was pleasantly surprised to see me walk through the door at 9:15AM. read more

VERY RUDE FRONT OFFICE STAFF. Not sure about their actual ortho services but their front office staff is very rude. If you have just had a traumatic vehicle accident and need to make a "follow" up appointment after the accident, the staff are not compassionate. Instead they want to argue with the verbiage you used to make the appointment, ridiculous. I suggest they go back to customer service school and get some new pointers on how to respond to customers. I arrived on time for my 3:00 appointment and was shuttled into a small room at the end of the hall. I sat there for over 50 minutes without any contact with anyone, not a word. If sitting alone in a room for almost an hour sounds good to you, then by all means give them a call! read more

I had a swollen knee and they got me in pretty quick to see Dr. Lower. He was gentle and very informative as I had to have quite a bit of fluid extracted!. My husband and I have been going here for years. There is never a wait more than 10-15 minutes! read more

Dr. Lower repaired my trashed knee over 20 years ago. It was an intense complicated injury and to date I have had NO issues. Considering I am extremely active - that's quite a testimony. Dr. Lower is thorough, beyond competent and extremely kind. If I ever need any type of orthopedic help, he is the 1st doctor I would call! I refer everyone who asks! read more

Our family has used this practice for years. Dr. Dan (that's what we call him) is fantastic he is the PA not a DR.( but should be he is great with the kids) Either Dr. Lowery or Khan will review the X-rays. There is a tall bald guy who has casted my boys at least 10 times. Great guy who has been there forever. We have not had to have surgery just tons of x-rays and casts and would recommend them hands down to all of NVA... read more

I ran across this group just doing an internet search. I saw great reviews and just went. Turned out my neighbor was also a happy patient of theirs. The staff was kind, patient, and prompt. Dan was thorough and put me at ease. I was happy with their recovery plan. I ended up needing surgery on my thumb (ligament repair) and Dr. Kahn was great and I'm on my way to a full recovery. Kahn was patient and she explained his approach in detail. Of course post surgery it was very painful, but I'm really happy with my experience with this group. read more

**WARNING** DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AVOID this place at all cost! NO REASON TO PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS WHEN THE BEST ORTHOPEDIC SURGEONS ARE NEXT OFFICE BUILDING OVER. LOOK THEM UP, Dr. David Johnson is the best for knees in this entire area. Countryside orthopedics is the worse orthopedic practice in the DMV. Dr. Lower did my ACL surgery and completely did a hack job. When I woke up I was in the most severe pain like nothing I have ever experienced. Couple days after surgery I ended up having to be transported to the emergency room. I couldn't stop throwing up and the blood from my knee was soaking through the bandages and sheets. Come to find out there was an incision on the side of my knee that was never mentioned during my pre surgery consultation. I found out later he did some old school surgery on my knee that current orthopedic surgeons don't even do. He really should retire because he has lost it in my opinion. Every office visit he is rude and condescending. Very rushed when meeting with you and acts like he doesn't have time to answer any questions. My knee is still messed up and he pretty much told me there was nothing else he could do. If I would've had gone to Dr. Johnson's office from the beginning this wouldn't have happened. I didn't learn about Dr. Johnson till I had already had my surgery. I had a friend that had the exact same surgery the same time I did but he did it with Dr. Johnson. He recovered 10 times faster than I did in his surgery had no issues whatsoever. If you want to gamble with your body part I recommend this place if not you have been warned. Learn from my experience don't have to go through it yourself.. There is nothing I can do about it either my knee is messed up Dr. Lower is not liable for anything apparently. I've been a patient of Dr Lower for 10 years, when he was the first to find a reason for severe foot pain I'd had for couple of years. He's fone rotator surgery on me as well. His front desk staff are efficient, professional and friendly. Both his PA, Dan and tech, Yani have been terrific at patching up my numerous sports and aging injuries. The PT staff are all knowledgeable and easy to work with. Both the running store and several nurses highly recommended this practice and I've always felt in good hands. read more

I'm in second week of PT after traumatic ankle/leg fracture and ORIF to put bones back in place and repair all the torn ligaments. Countryside Ortho has been the best part of the whole healing process. The protocols Craig, DPT, is using are delivering results without it being an unpleasant experience. Their assistants, PT & OT therapists, and front office personnel make patients feel welcome and go out of their way to help.
