Let me tell y'all about this food truck. Blue Dyer has their own, but sometimes County Manners is there as well. I'm not on the southern side too much, so it was my first time ever seeing or hearing of this truck. There was a selection of tacos, baskets, sliders and sides. They had some tacos I was not used to seeing, such as smoked brisket tacos, sweet chili shrimp tacos and haddock (fish) tacos. I got a shrimp and haddock one for myself... OMG... they were bursting with the flavor and the aiolis (jalapeno and sweet chili respectively) were delicious with them -- you can see the other ingredients on the menu. It's o random side, yes, but I got the seaweed salad with them and was so delicious. I was quite satisfied from this meal alone, but I later on wanted to get nachos. I got an order of chicken ones, and... all the yes. I loved the chips, sauces and everything else that came with it. I don't know when I'll get to see them again, but when I do... County Manners is a food truck that is you can find in the La Plata area. We happened to find them at the La Plata Farmers Market, so I was pretty excited! Their menu is seasonal, so I was disappointed that they didn't have their popular rockfish sliders - oh, well - another reason to check them out again! When we went, they had tacos (southwest chicken, smoked brisket, and sweet chili shrimp), soups (crab and minestrone), sliders (smoked Philly steak and cheese, spicy chicken, and BBQ brisket), and baskets (hand-cut fries). We ordered the 3 types of tacos (southwest chicken (fried chicken with cheddar Jack, pico de gallo, sriracha cream, and lettuce), smoked brisket (brisket, pico, cheddar Jack, BBQ, and lettuce), and the sweet chili shrimp (fried shrimp with pico, cheddar Jack, sweet chili aioli, and lettuce) with a side of hand-cut fries. They all came in a flour tortilla. Our favorite was the southwest chicken, because the chicken was perfectly fried; the toppings were ample, and I really liked the sriracha cream. The sweet chili shrimp was good, too, but definitely on the sweeter end; if you like sweet chili, this item is for you! The fries were perfectly fried, crisp, and seasoned. Service was great, they were both very polite. I was not rushed and didn't feel so. I tried the newest item that they had on the menu and I enjoyed it. My son who is extremely picky about everything loved the fries. I ordered the rockfish and it came with fries, the fish had an aioli. What I love about working in Arlington is that if I want to, I could step outside not knowing where or what I'm going to eat for lunch and there will be some food truck within a block of me. And then I stumble upon gems like this one! I got "The Poor Boy" which was a shrimp po boy, recommended by the person in front of me in line. It was a huge portion so definitely satisfying in that regard. There were 5 big pieces of fried shrimp that I appreciated. They were tasty and there wasn't too much batter which I liked. I really liked the cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuce in it too to lighten up the sandwich. And of course the aioli sauce on top was great! I would say the overall thing was a tad bit salty for my liking but I still liked it a lot! The bread was pretty good but I wish it had been buttered a little bit! I was afraid the sandwich was going to be overly messy since it was huge, but it actually wasn't! I did eat some of it with a fork but it's nothing bad at all. The wait was a bit long (over 10 minutes) but I think it was mostly due to the large order ahead of me. Worst food truck I've ever eaten at. The service was fine, a bit slow, but not terrible. The food, however, was absolutely horrible. I ate half of it because I was starving. Big mistake. I should have let myself starve. The only flavor was salt and oil. It left an aftertaste so bad I was nauseous for an hour. There was so much grease I considered sticking my finger down my throat to relieve myself. I liked the addition of cucumber to the lettuce and tomato. The bread was soft and high-quality. The shrimp had a good cornmeal crust. I had the pleasure of having: *Whiskey Brisket - Great portions. Seasoned to perfection on a delicious bun. *Mac&Cheese - I thought only my grandmother could make this with southern love, once again...I don't know their secret, but it has the right amount of cheese and the texture is just right. We had Jeremy and his crew cater a private event at our company in July. Absolutely amazing! We had eaten at the truck at the Ballston metro before so we knew the food was great but they took it to another level at our event. We had about 50 people, all professionals from around the country at a local conference. They did appetizers and parked the truck outside of our space for dinner entrees, and every single person raved about the food. We enjoyed food from the truck today outside the senior center craft fair. The food was delicious and I like the personal service they provide with first names. Macaroni and cheese was moist with melted cheese. Whiskey brisket was thinly sliced with cheese melted on top and a little sauce.
