The OG recipe had more hatch chiles but it's a huge improvement from whatever queso dark ages we were in when they gave us Beer Queso. I also tried their interim new recipe after Been Queso that was spawned out of the same failed idea. Now with this new "original recipe", the queso is decent. It's not spectacular like the old one that would motivate me to come watch a movie just to order it. This new "original" recipe is good enough to order if you're otherwise there. Not good enough to justify coming in for a movie like the old one. (I have the season pass and I kid you not, I used to go in to have dinner and watch a movie and order burger and queso. Now I don't go in to do that but I will order the queso when I'm there. Like I said, it's tasty and decent.) Bathrooms are still consistently gross with several toilets clogged with human waste so you have to look into 3-5 stalls before you find one without floating human waste. Staff is always friendly though so that helps offset the gross bathrooms, I guess.

My relationship with Alamo has been long, like I've gone since Spike and Mike's used to do sick and twisted festival of animation events. It's my go to. It's my don't-go-to-other-theaters-out-of-loyalty spot. The last few times have been beyond subpar. I didn't want to believe it was over. Tonight, I went for Spiderman at 11:30 PM. I've been promising this to my husband as a date night. It was the one and only time we had a sitter (we have a 6 week old child and a 1.5 year old - so it's been a while since date night). Husband is service industry, and it was literally the only time we had a sitter after he was off of work. We ubered to Alamo, which cost about $13. We paid for the sitter. We get to Alamo and they're closed. We get shit happens, but let Victory members know in advance. Even a 30 minute heads up would have saved us an uber ride or allowed us time to find tickets elsewhere or have a date alternative. Nothing. The staff were apologetic, but didn't seem all that concerned about it. They told me I'd get a refund, that's it. No vouchers to another show. No voucher for food/drinks. The vouchers were sitting in front of the cashier and would have made a world of difference, but she acted indifferent and never offered them. Just a "yeah sorry, you'll get a refund in 3-5 business days". What about the refund for the time, ubers to/from, and sitter? That's where vouchers could have somewhat saved the day. It wasn't important to staff or Alamo because it wasn't their time, ubers, babysitters, or incredibly needed date night. I wasn't even a Karen about it. I tried to tell her I'm sorry she had to deal with issues at the theater and that it probably sucked for staff as much as it does customers, so I get it. Not her fault. She just acted very WHATEVER. RIP Alamo. We will not be back. This could have been fixed, but it wasn't and there was no real effort. They have my email from my Victory account, so why no heads up so we could try to catch the film elsewhere? Why no extra effort to give vouchers? Hell, if we got to the counter and were told the card on file was refunded, that tiny effort would have been something. Alamo was built for people who LOVE cinema. It had a loyal following, but everything that we loved about it is dead and gone. It's sad seeing the current "Alamo" corpse be paraded like Weekend at Bernie's. So instead, we will stream at home once it's available. We will partake in what's killing cinema because Alamo just killed it for us. Thanks but no thanks.

The "I Love You So Much" mural is one of Austin's most photographed and widely recognized pieces of street art. It is located on the side of Jo's Coffee at 1300 South Congress Avenue in the city's South Congress neighborhood. The mural features a simple message, "I love you so much", painted in red cursive letters on a light green wall. The mural has become a symbol of love we have for each other, connection to each other as well as the connection to the city, and Austin's love for all. The mural was created in 2010 by Amy Cook, a local Austin musician. According to the word on the streets, Cook spray painted the message as a heartfelt expression of love for her partner, Liz Lambert, who is affiliated with Jo's Coffee. Now this sign serves a love note to all that visit Austin.

Simple, elegant, profound, and fun. I can't even begin to count how many times I have been to this mural in the last decade or so.
