I was so hungry and they were so tasty that I forgot to "feed" the camera first. We both got the same burger - a Single Knuckle Burger with pepperjack cheese, along with lettuce, tomato, onion. My wife ordered their loaded Bloody Mary, which was very good - it's a shoe-in to win the Best of Ogle County if people try it. The burgers were very good. They now have a draft beer, so I ordered one and it tasted fine. This is basically a side of the road bar and restaurant, ambiance wise. Nothing fancy, but not run down either. Just good food.

We decided to try it out. First off, you get into the parking lot by entering the RP Home and Harvest parking lot off the Route 251 entrance - there is NO other access. We got in around 11:40, and the place was empty - no staff, no customers. After a few minutes, the waitress / bartender walked in carrying a load of beer. She greeted us, and came back a minute later with the menus. We started with fried mushrooms for an appetizer - they did have a Pick 3 appetizer for $14, but there were only two of us, so we went with the mushrooms. They came out hot and fresh from the fryer, and were served with a small plastic container of what tasted like ranch dressing. We both ordered the OG Hopper, which is a smashed patty on a butter brioche bun, served with either fries (which we selected) or tots. You had your choice of toppings (we took them all, which included a slice of sweet pickle) and cheese, American, Cheddar or Pepper Jack. I did Cheddar, the wife selected Pepper Jack. It wasn't long before the burgers came out with the fries. Both were hot and fresh from the grille / fryer. The burgers were okay. We would have asked for the TVs to be changed, but we never got the chance to speak to a server. After sitting there for 10 minutes a server walked by and said she'd be right with us. Right after this a group walks in and tell the server they know her mom. She promptly sat them in the dining side and tended to their table. We waited for about 20 minutes and finally decided to leave as we had yet to even have our drink order taken. My wife's grandparents are property owners at Woodhaven and we come out occasionally. Other than having to deal with a freight train that stopped on the tracks right as we were trying to get to the restaurant from the theater, and having to go way out to the west end of town to get around it, everything about our experience was superb! I'm pretty sure we were seated by the owner, who was amazing to talk to. You could tell she loved what she did and what they provide to their customers. She put us in the charge of the bartender, who brought our drinks, took our orders, and checked on us regularly throughout the meal, even though she was doing double duty. We had a large lunch, so we weren't going to eat much for dinner. As soon as I read the menu I realized I was going to have a hard time deciding, but I love cinnamon ice cream, so I knew I needed to leave enough room for dessert. I ended up ordering the grilled cheese, which came with bacon (hold the tomato), and the homemade chips as my side. Everything was delicious. I brought half of my meal home, and it was just as delicious when reheated with my air fryer a few days later. My husband had the Acres Pretzel, which was huge and yummy. (I had a bite to try it!) The cheese sauce with it was thinner than expected, but very good. We started out with a Manhattan for me and some Lena Brewing caramel pecan coffee stout for him. Mine was perfectly crafted, and I took a sip of his, which was also yummy. In addition to my cinnamon ice cream, we each had a dessert drink. He had the Chocolate Caramel Kiss, and I had the Banana Bread. Again, very yummy. The cost of all of this came to under $75, which we thought was marvelous. Coming out from the city, the prices here are definitely more reasonable and much appreciated! We have this restaurant on our radar now, so anytime we are out this way again, we will head there. We are already making plans to come out and see a show next summer, if not before that. To the owner and all the other staff, thanks for such a lovely experience! You have a wonderful establishment!
