Always a fun place to hang out with the boys, especially on trivia nights. The service is always quick and friendly, and It's always nice to shoot breeze with whoever's serving my table that night. My only complaint would be that anytime I get a chipotle bacon burger without tomato, it always comes out with tomato on it, but that's certainly no dealbreaker when returning to this place weekly. read more

We have ordered to-go a few times and has been very inconsistent. Specifically, the fries the first and second time were very good for take-out. They were the ones that are slightly battered and seasoned- SO YUMMY. But then the third time they were the plain "steakhouse" style fries and were not good at all. I don't really understand why they were different. The Cole slaw was also meh- creamy with little to no flavor, but I know some people do like it that way. I've been dining at this place for many years, and the quality of the food has significantly decreased in the last 6 months or so. Ordered delivery a few weeks ago: two cheese burgers. I won't complain about the 2 hours it took to deliver, as they made me aware it would be a while. I will however complain about the quality of the food that was delivered. Both burgers arrived cold, undercooked, and it looked like they were tossed around, because the inside of the container was a complete mess. We both took one bite each and threw out our $40 worth of cold garbage. Pretty much all of the food I've tasted recently in no way compares to the way the food used to taste. I really hope they go back to their old vendors, recipes, cooks? Whatever they changed, the food is suffering, not to mention the outrageous prices. read more

This is the second local spot I went to while i visited Somonauk. After a very long day, a few of my friends that i came into town with decided to go out to get some pizzas and beer. We choose Rambos. Now i have passed this place once while visiting over Thanksgiving Break. When i walked into Rambo's I felt the comfort and welcome everyone shared. The entire room knew each other, which is always a good feeling. There was about seven in our group at first, but as soon as people saw who was in my group, the bigger our group got. By the end of the night there was about 15 in all. We had ordered three types of apps, Mozz Sticks, Mini tacos, and stuffed cheesy potatoes. All of these we served all on time, however i wish they would have given us more in each basket. We then ordered three pizzas, One pepperoni, a veggie pizza and a cheeseburger pizza. Now the pepperoni and the veggie pizza was a hit, however, the Cheeseburger pizza, while sounds appetizing, tasted different from what one would expect. You did taste the cheeseburger, but there was some sweet element to the sauce, which didnt go well with our group. The staff there was very fun and friendly, our server who i believe her name was Becky or Beth, gave the ladies we were with free shots of a blue drink what i think was called " dirty squirrel fucker?" The ladies loved the shots, and she kept our drinks full. All in all, i had a great time visiting this local place. I would like to see what else the town had to offer. read more

We used to LOVE Wednesday night tacos but had stopped going when it seemed like the quality had went down. We gave it a try last night because I was hoping they would be good again. My chicken taco was good... but my husband's beef taco and beef taco salad were both cold. Our waitress was phenomenal, she told us upfront they were down a girl but totally took great care of us even though you could tell she was frustrated. Either way, we both agree we don't need to go back for taco Wednesday again - not worth the cost and the fact they no longer seem that great. Beware, this place gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights, when that happens the wait for drinks and food is hit & miss. Sometimes it takes forever to see your waitress again. The food is good, but nothing special. I've had their buffalo chicken salad which is good if you're looking for a healthier choice. I would recommend checking out their taco night, can't beat that deal. All said, it's a solid restauran/bar but nothing to write home about. read more

I have lived in the area for nearly 20 years and I have come to love Rambos Bar And Grill. The food is great, the drink specials are always good and I really love their killer Kool-Aid. My favorite thing is they're pressure fried chicken. If I go into a pizza place an order chicken, you know the chicken has got to be good. My only complaint is in an get that chicken "crack" until after 4pm LOL. Keep up the great work Josh and crew. read more

Love their food and cold beer in icy mugs. Cheeseburgers are the best! Also love the specials. The county fired steak is great and a good price. I give it four stars, maybe not because of the food (although it is very good and reasonably priced), but for the atmosphere and friendly staff. One of my favorite spots in the area. Try the chicken, beef rolls, and don't forget the pizza, which is the best in the area, at least in my opinoin. And that includes Sandwich and Plano. read more

After a long week at work I decided to stop in for what I was thinking would be a nice relaxing drink, was I ever wrong. It was right before shift change. There were two young ladies behind the bar, whom were extremely friendly. I had no intentions to order food only to enjoy a drinks. The bartender asked if I would like an appetizer after naming her favorites I decided to try the JUMBO mushrooms. To my surprise they certainly were JUMBO. The cook even took a quick minute to say hello and ask how I was. The two bartenders finished up their shift as two more came in. One of the bartenders leaving let me know it was the end of her shift and told me to have a good evening the other you could tell just wanted to get out of there. My visit that I intended to be joyous and relaxing quickly went down hill after shift change. One of the girls who came in, was quick to notice all the mistakes the girls before made. Feeling the need to complain about the girls in front of customers. This same bartender when getting me a new drink didn't once say hi, or even acknowledge that a customer was in front of her. But she sure was nice to the "regulars". I have since visited during the day, seeing the same two FRIENDLY bartenders. They actually care about the customers. Joking with, talking sports, and weather, just simple bar talk. It's hard to enjoy a place when the employees act as if it's a burden to have to end their conversation about their weekend to serve a customer. Rotten owner. The food and wait staff were amazing. With that being said. We visited this place on a Friday night close to 5. Me and my husband and brother in law are not tiny people so we headed to one of the tall tables usually set for 6. Waitress was over immediately and took our drink order. Super quick and nice. Ordered an appitizer and settled in and started to notice the place filling up. Lots of regulars who sat down and immediately had their drink orders filled. Then we noticed the old guy in the ball cap behind the bar. Seemed to be glaring at us. Not sure if he was some drunk or what was the issue. Saw him come around and straighten the bar stools and started to figure he was some sort of management. Got our pizza order pretty quick and watched the ball cap guy cleaning up a table that had left literally 1 minute before our pizza came and watched him chew out out our waitress. She was busy taking care of her customers and this guy seemed like a jerk. Needless to say we then spotted the sign stating to save the larger tables for bigger parties. The 3 of us at a table for 6 must have pissed the old man off. Oh well. We didn't grab that 3rd beer. Got our tab and left. Would have stayed it was a good place but the owners bad attitude made us feeling unwelcome. read more
