I'm writing this review mainly for myself, because I read my last review and acted upon my own advice. I was here for a friend's birthday dinner, they aren't very crowded on weekday nights so it's easy to get a large table. I read my last review, which was that I should get a different dressing with the kale salad. When I read the menu, I saw that the blue cheese dressing is standard for the kale salad, but this time I asked what my other options were. I decided on a raspberry vinaigrette, and it was the best decision I could've made. So here is my order from now until probably eternity, it is the kale salad that has delicious amount of cheese and candied nuts so I don't feel deprived. I get raspberry vinaigrette which, even though I don't specify, I think they always bring dressing on the side just in case. And I add grilled shrimp. It is delicious, healthy, and just a great all-around salad. Parking was super easy on a Tuesday night there is tons of parking in this parking lot. They do close at nine, which I think is a bit early especially because there's so many people that live now in the apartments around. I hope one day they decide to stay open until 10. Waited over 30 minutes with no menus, no waters, no server before getting up and leaving. We were sat at a high top in the bar area. After about 10 minutes a manager named Arthur came around and asked if we had been helped yet and we said no. He said ok just be patient someone will be with you shortly. After another 10 minutes he said to just go up to the bar and order with the bartender. When we approached the bar the rude bartender said to go sit down and that she would be with us shortly. Again, no one ever came. No one ever gave us menus and we sat there for over 30 minutes before walking out. Terrible communication between management, hosting staff, and bartenders. Terrible staffing issues. Everyone was telling us to do a different thing and we were still never greeted or served by anyone! read more

We had an excellent experience at Courtside Grille in St. Petersburg. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, with great energy throughout the restaurant. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of without ever feeling rushed. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Everything came out hot and perfectly timed. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in consistency and presentation. The portions were generous, and there was something on the menu for everyone. Let's get the negative out of the way your Host or Hostess is the initial face of your establishment. Well this one has the personality of maybe a zombie. No expression or talk, didn't ask if we wanted a table or booth just lets go. Then she spent the rest of the time on her phone at the desk. Also the place is really cold so kudos when it's 100 outside but maybe 65 inside. Ok, Service was good and the menu had a lot of choices to ponder. Extremely loud, TVs, music, the crowds of people make it impossible to carry on a conversation without screaming! Great menu with large selection however, I was very disappointed in my meal, which was the tuna poke bowl. Mostly just white rice with a few pieces of tuna. Even the waitress had a difficult time hearing, understanding, as some of our Table was offered appetizers, as I would've liked to have tried one of the great selections, but could not get her attention as I could not scream loud enough. There was a birthday girl at the table and we ordered a dessert when it was brought, she did not bring plates, silverware, just the plate with a spoon on it nothing to share?? We had a really nice experience today at the "Courtside Grill". First off we arrived to the "Courtside Grill", and there is plenty of parking. We walked in and was greeted so nicely by the hostess she seated us right away no wait. Love the atmosphere here really high ceilings and very spacious with beautiful architecture especially their chandelier. Also, there is plenty of TVs. They had football games on all over the place, and other sports games on. But I was handed the menu. I am definitely delighted to see how many different items they have on the menu. It is really impressive. I ordered the Italian sub. I do not add cheese to mine due to allergy situation. and I get to pick one side with that I got the broccoli. My husband got cheeseburger and frys, my niece got Caesar salad, and tuna poke bowl, And everybody ordered that at the table. My Italian sub was really really good! The bread tasted homemade was so fluffy and fresh and had a nice crispiness on the outside because it was toasted. Meat was really good and fresh. I definitely would order that again. My husband loved his burger. He said it was excellent really juicy burger cooked perfectly. The fries were very crispy. Everybody loved the Tuna Poke bowl. They loved the sauce that it had all over it they said it was really fresh and full of flavor not fishy at all. They were staying at a hotel nearby my family and they said they wanted to come back and eat there before they went back home. The Caesar salad wasn't good dressing was very sour . It is baffling that a sports bar, during a major sporting event like the world cup, has a single bartender covering the entire bar area, outdoor bar area, and additional seating area. We sat for 30 minutes with no service due to being incredibly short staffed. The manager asked if we had been helped, to which we responded that we had not. The manager then told us to get up and order from the bar. The bartender then told us to sit down and that she would be over to help us. She did not come over to help. Customers at the bar were also asking the bartender about why the bar was so low staffed. It was just incredibly frustrating to not receive more than a "just wait to be served" in the 30 minutes we were sat there. Eventually, we walked out. Had lunch here while traveling for business in Tampa. Was surprised by the range of options available on the menu for what looked like a sports bar to me. I had a poke bowl and some edamame. Service was good and efficient. My colleague had a Reuben and I didn't hear any complaints from him. Went to Courtside to watch the football game. It was very busy but still the service was quick and follow up was great! I love the side pasta and I order shrimp to add to it. So good! Beer is cold and they have fresh taps. The restaurant is always clean when I go. Definitely a fun place to hangout with friends and watch the game! There are a lot of tables so seating is quick. We like going here but tonight really had me mad before I even walked in. I will start with the service first because that's what everyone looks at. Our server tonight was not very attentive. I had buffalo shrimp appetizer and had no silverware or napkins the whole time. When our dinner came she said can I get you anything else and I had to say silverware and napkins please. We say for about 10-15 minutes after we were done eating before she ever brought the bill then another 10 minutes to get my card back. Now the part that pissed me off! As we were walking to the door the owner Matt Geiger pulled up on his golf cart and parked right at the front door. Ok fine you own the place but he completely blocked the handicap access. If someone would have come and needed to use the ramp out of their vehicle they couldn't do it. Having a sister that is handicapped and has a ramp van this makes me mad when people do this. I was just there. The food was good, the service was great. But after I gave my credit card there was an extra fee on it for using the credit card. Which is bull because we have an extra fee of paying tips because the restaurant industry is too cheap to pay their staff a living wage. I will tell you that I won't be back because of the hidden fee. And any and all service fees I come across, I will be deducting it from the tip. LOUD and TOXIC. Loud restaurant in general with cigarette smoke wafting in from the "outside bar" which is openly connected to the interior of the restaurant. Female staff with hostile and "know it all" attitudes and a manager named Arthur that have no clue about FL ADA restaurant laws. Arthur allows his staff to be extremely, repeatedly disrespectful to customers. Arthur A said he has been managing there for 20 years. Has he ever taken a Restaurant 101 course? Look up the laws, "Service vests are required for a dog to be a service animal." We were repeatedly told this by staff with a nasty attitude. Check out the laws before making your comments as though they are facts and calling someone with a disability a "liar" please. Courtside staff. Seriously. Educate yourselves before making (falsely) omnipotent and condescending statements to customers. Wow, those are some rude, ignorant workers and their "boss" with a lot to say that they aren't even accurate about. Vests and " service registry ID tags" that anyone can get online are not required on service animals. LOOK UP THE ACTUAL FEDERAL AND FL STATUTES RATHER THAN MAKING ASSUMPTIONS and calling your customer a liar. Got so hostile I got camera out and got much of it on video with audio. Will be considering filing a formal ADA / civil rights complaint with medical letter, training certificate, & videos of this manager and staff. Harassment and intimidation toward guest with a disability then trying to blame guest? Not cool. Not funny. Not legal. Period. ADDITIONALLY- Arthur's staff offered ZERO water at our table. We always have to ask for water (they typically start off asking us what drinks we'd like to start with from the bar without mentioning water) and have been there many, many times over years passing through and after purchasing a place in area. Servers are offering only alcohol. This may increase sales and their tips with more alcohol served, but also increases risk and LIABILITY if someone were to leave and be in a car accident. Seems like Courtside Grille cares about profits and sass - NOT the actual well-being of their patrons. Shame. Shame. Shame. read more

Checked this spot out finally. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and the baked spinach and artichoke dip to start. The dip was shredded asiago cheese topping, scallion and tomato garnish and served with toast points. Very good and cheesy! I ordered The Franchise, which is smoked salmon, scallion, cream cheese, tempura fried topped with eel sauce, and spicy mayo. I also ordered the Joe vs Volcano, which is kanikama, cream cheese and cucumber, topped with avocado, broiled dynamite, tempura crunch, scallion, and soy glaze. Both were very good! It's always a pleasure coming back to Courtside Grill as they never fail to disappoint! I visited with two friends, and our waiter was incredibly sweet and attentive. The service was quick, and the food was delicious. We started with the must-have cheesy baguette as an appetizer, which was fantastic. We sat in a booth which was perfect. Perfect place for March Madness! For our main courses, I had the mahi-mahi sandwich, one friend had the chicken bowl, and the other tried the buffalo mac and cheese--everyone agreed that their dishes were amazing. We ended our meal by sharing a cookie with ice cream for dessert, which was the perfect indulgence. Be warned, this meal is so satisfying that it might put you in a food coma, but it's absolutely worth it for all the right reasons. read more

Went to this restaurant last year and had a grouper sandwich so good we went back three times during our vacation to have it again. It was fresh, light, and delicious - just like Florida grouper should be. Came back this year, husband and I both ordered the same and what came from the kitchen was garbage. It smelled bad: was brown in color, and worse yet, was some sort of fused fish parts patty. One bite and we were done. Server offered to comp and I'm totally kicking myself that we paid and left for a meal we didn't eat. I don't know why folks rate this place so low. Maybe their expectations are too high? For a bar/grille type place it remains a solid choice. The menu is extensive but they execute everything as good, if not better, than a bar/grille spot should. The service is always fast, attentive, and friendly. Jen was a wonderful and knowledgeable server at this interesting sports bar near our hotel in St Pete. She was able to make several great suggestions on this most diverse menu. We started with a nice portion of a capresi salad, then went with Poke Bowl with Tuna for me and a French dip for my friend. Both were delicious! the service was amazing, and it was tolarab for the sound level. It probably gets much noise at night, but we made it for lunch. I googled places I could get lunch that weren't too far from my hotel that wouldn't be super awkward, this was one of the first places that popped up. It was a great decision! My daughter was looking for a place to eat near the airport and happened upon this place! I read reviews and all looked good! The place was very busy, but plenty of seating! We were seated quickly! We moved to the area and immediately found Courtside Grille. We have been going there a few times a week for four years and absolutely love all the food--especially the sushi--and drinks. We have never had a bad experience with the staff. We would often bring our friends and family there, and now they love it too. This is the go to spot for some food and drinks after zumba/cardio dance class at Baycare Carillon. It's close by, can seat larger groups and has an extensive menu so there's something for everyone. Lately, I've been coming here with my husband to watch football on Sundays, and have decided that it's a great spot for watching games - way more food options than most sports bars. In any case , I've been here quite a bit, so I must like it. I have not tried everything on the menu, but I do have some favorites: - Spinach and Artichoke Dip, which I get with chips instead of toast points - Tater Barrels - Grouper Nuggets - Garlic Lime Edamame, healthy noshing item - French Onion Soup / Soup of the Day (which is not available on Sundays) - Shirley Salad, ask for dressing on the side as they do tend to overdress the salad - Lasagne, which is super saucy and makes great leftovers - Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap, I get this with grilled chicken The sushi is also pretty good, but only available after 4pm. My friend and I live in north St Pete and wanted to meet up for sushi. We were racking our brains on where to go when I remembered that Courtside has sushi nightly (not at lunch). My friend does not do seaweed, they offer soy or rice papers on almost all their rolls as an alternative for a small upcharge. Most sushi places have beer and sake, another bene to Courtside is a great wine list and full bar. Super easy to get to and it is pretty big so usually not a wait. We have added this to our rotation.
