We went to a place new to us for a weekday lunch (Apr 2026)! The Katch Bistro at the cute Karol Hotel, near the St. Pete - Clearwater (FL) airport off the Howard Frankland bridge. We're always on the lookout for fresh grouper. Their lightly-chili-aiolied broiled grouper sandwich was tasty and well-presented with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato on a brioche roll. Their fish tacos on this day feature crunchy-crusted grouper with crunchy shredded cabbage and rich avocado in a chipotle aioli! There are plenty of non-fish entrées to choose from, too. And we delighted in the Brussels sprouts appetizer, broiled with bacon bits, in a bright sweet chili sauce. I cant say we liked Brussels sprouts while growing up, but they are so good when they are charred just a little and cleverly flavored, like these. Yum! Yes, all our choices had a little spice, very flavorful and not overpowering. We were well-cared-for by the excellent waitress, knowledgeable and good-natured. The ambiance was casual, quiet and sophisticated. We ate inside, and had a beautiful view of the veranda and a pond beyond. We enjoyed the collection of abstract paintings on the walls. There is also a rooftop deck bar where you can see across the bay to Tampa skyline, unfortunately it doesn't open until 3pm so we didn't go this time. read more

My spouse and I celebrated our anniversary here, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was excellent --every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. What truly made the evening special was the exceptional service. We were treated with genuine warmth throughout our visit, and the manager even stopped by our table to make sure everything was perfect, which was a thoughtful touch. The combination of amazing food, attentive staff, and welcoming atmosphere made our anniversary one to remember. The food is truly delicious, but unfortunately the service has been consistently disappointing. I wish I could say it's just an occasional off day, but this has been my experience every single time I've dined here; which is frequently. Between the long wait times, lack of accommodation, constant confusion, and overall poor performance, it really takes away from what could be an exceptional dining experience. It's especially surprising because Bascom's, which shares the same ownership, consistently provides impeccable service. I know the standard they're capable of, which makes the experience here even more disappointing. Wowwww! I was super impressed by this restaurant that is inside the Karol Hotel. First, the staff are so nice and welcoming. The food was prepared very quickly. Even though I got the food for takeout, the presentation was a 10/10!!! The fish and chips were amazing, although a bit salty for my liking (you can see the salt in the picture). Was staying at the Karol with my wife who was there for a business conference. SO I was left to my own devices. The roof top bar was nice, but crowded and loud when I was there, the lobby bar next to the restaurant was a perfect substitute. They had a pretty extensive bourbon and whiskey selection, and the food I saw looked fantastic, but I was really just there for a drink while waiting for my wife. This was a nice place to sit down for a drink, there were sports on the TVs, the Bartender was helpful and attentive. I went pretty simple with a Buffalo Trace old fashioned. It was well mixed and balanced, and the smoke went well with the drink. It is not the least expensive place, it is a boutique hotel, but it was a comfortable place to enjoy a drink or have a meal if you are traveling and staying here. read more

Planned my annual Friendsmas dinner here. It is located inside the Karol Hotel. Easy access to parking. It currently has the holiday touches around the restaurant but tastefully decorated for an intimate setting. We had a table of 10 and the service nothing short of amazing. I got the Caesar salad which I liked but had to request more dressing because mine came out with way less than expected. The croutons were freshly made and tasted great. For my entree I got the Grilled Verlasso Salmon with spinach, cherry tomatoes and gnocchi. Salmon was cooked perfectly, gnocchi was just right and as a tomato lover they were a great addition to the dish. This was my first time back after the chef switch and can honestly say it's still on my list as a local go to for a dinner option. read more

I was in town for a night for work and was looking for a place for dinner, based on some good reviews, I figured I would try it. Easy seating on Wednesday night, large tables, parking is a little busy, shared lot with other businesses including the hotel and a bank. The tables, inside and outside, were spaced a good distance apart and it didn't feel cramped. My server, JT, was great and made sure the food and drinks were good! He mentioned that everything is made from scratch, a nice touch for a hotel restaurant. I had the Smoked Chicken Gnoochi, yum! It was served in a fried tortilla with crusted and fried(?) guacamole on top. The dish was delicious, I pretty much inhaled it! I was thinking of heading up to the rooftop after dinner but it ended up raining so I didn't get a chance to see it. Overall, great experience! read more

Came here for some lunch on a Sunday before a flight. Based on the great reviews, we thought we'd try it. Glad we did. Great food, service, and views. All you can eat Easter "Brunch". So I have been waiting to go to this hotel since it opened. I have heard nothing but good things about K Club Bistro as well as Vantage Rooftop Bar. I decided to finally take the plunge and visit on Easter. They had an all you can eat brunch for 32$ a person. When I arrived at the restaurant it actually wasn't clear where this was taking place as on Open Table it lists both the restaurant and the rooftop bar in the same reservation. They had a banquet room set up with a bunch of tables with the food in heated silver containers. I asked about which items had gluten. That was easy enough our waiter was happy to find out what was safe for me to eat. We were seated outside in a small dining area overlooking the pond which was also nice. What was not gluten free was easy enough to stay away from which was much appreciated the pastries, breads, quiche and the breakfast potatoes (which were fried in a community fryer). What I did have a problem with was that they food was sitting out in the open (deviled eggs). The food in the heated silver containers was sitting closed so the condensation was building up, and as a result a lot of the food was over cooked and soggy. This was not a brunch, it was a hotel breakfast being served as brunch for 32$ I could have gotten a better brunch anywhere else in the Tampa, St.pete, Clearwater area. The serving spoons, dishes and tongs were caked up with old dry food and it was disgusting. There were fingerprints and food caked up on the handles of all the silver containers. Nothing appeared to be whipped down (periodically and non of the tongs and spoons were being replaced for clean ones as they were also cakes up) .  When I got my food the eggs were almost gone in the container. They were soggy, mushy, hard, and overcooked at the same time making them inedible. The bacon I had was soggy, not crispy as well. I had already had my deviled eggs taken back. I asked if there would be fresh eggs brought out soon and our waiter said the kitchen told him "no new food until what is out there is eaten!" I ate 1 slice of bacon at an all you can eat brunch because the food was not good. Our waiter knew I didn't like or eat the food as he asked to bag it to go. he never asked if a manager was needed or sent one by. I paid 32$ for 1 slice of bacon. This brunch was such a disappointment.  Unfortunately, I wanted to come here for dinner and this brunch was me trying the place out. For Easter this was a gigantic let down and that is sad because there are good reviews on their dinner service. My husband who also ate said the only thing worth eating on the whole buffet was the carved ham. If you have ever ordered room service in a hotel this is basically what they served and charged 32$ a person. There are SO many places making brunch at the same price point with fresh (local) made to order ingredients. I am sad they got my 32$ but they won't get anything else as I don't plan to returnto K Club Bistro.  Brunch is very very simple and this shouldn't have been so hard. read more

I looked over the menu and with the lack of customers and few options I decided to go elsewhere. Too bad that steak benedict was amazing. We started off at the vantage roof top bar and the so peachy drink was a hit for me. We then ventured downstairs to K Club for dinner. I ordered the grouper and the rest of the entrees on the table included the short rib and chicken. Winner of the night was the short rib. Cooked to perfection and flavors were amazing. So there has to be something done with the current staff Being that the problem we are having has been constant, when ever me and my family order from k club or now so called "the Katch" until they changed their name again it's has been hit or miss and the last few times have been a major disappointment especially if other families are complaining about it to us in the elevator leaving the restaurant, you can tell the food has been prepared with out any love, care or the basic principles of food quality assurance, Like I said there was probably a hand full of times that it was beyond good but it has been as equivalent as a badly ran Burger King and quite frankly we are just tired of paying for overpriced food that never is sent out the kitchen doors right and usually has insulting feed back as if they are the ones sitting down and eating the food , I would also like to address the food has had barely any flavor except for fishy, over fried burnt & over cooked and the "French Fry's" if their even real are horrible and the veggies are rubbery, and after todays breakfast we had family members throwing up for having breakfast sausage that was barely cooked and blended into the omelette that tasted like they had grilled fish on the same grill they make the omelets on they also burnt our child's pancakes and must of made them with too much pancake powder because they were not only burnt but chalky in the middle and not to mention the bacon that we ordered was non existent.... To be frank, Whom ever it is they have cooking should not be cooking at all, not until they have found their passion for what being a chef really is about because it's certainly not just about the pay check . Been wanting to dine here for a while... Dropped in last nite and was pleasantly surprised. Started with the Mushroom Bisque. It was very very good and similar to Cafe Ponte's which set the benchmark. Entrees were a solid bolognese with house made taglietelle. We requested the pasta to be slightly more done than "al-dente", and the chef obliged. Huge portion too! I had the scallop entree over a subtle blue cheese polenta cake, a smokey kale puree along with roasted asparagus made this dish a show stopper. Being over in Brandon, we weren't familiar with this hidden gem. Our son chose it to celebrate his 31st birthday, and it was midway between us and our other guests in Pinellas. WHAT A DELIGHT! We weren't sure when we arrived, based on its relatively small size and lack of awareness. But we were totally blown away by the service, quality and presentation. The menu is full of delights, and we had a difficult time deciding what to order. The sides were huge and delicious. Our server, Kim, was among the very best! We consider ourselves foodies and enjoy fine dining. K Club exceeded our expectations and is on a par with the former Cafe Ponte and other area fine dining experiences. Very impressed with my experience here! The salmon dish was spectacular, with perfectly crispy rice cakes and decadent creamy leeks and several flavorful sauces. The presentation of the gnocchi was a nice touch, with a crispy taco bowl and deep fried guacamole. It was sooooo rich, perfect for sharing. The bread basket had two different delicious butters. Of the 2 desserts we tried, the creme brulee tart was my favorite, with a variety of tropical flavors. The chocolate trio dessert was perfect for a chocolate lover though. We were pleasantly surprised to find a real foodie gem near the airport. Server Zach was very helpful in explaining the very unique inspired dishes. Hands down one of THE best meals I've ever had!! We ordered the Mediterranean Board and the Grouper Champagne and I cannot begin to describe how perfectly cooked and seasoned everything was! K club is definitely a solid 3.5 good restaurant for it being in a hotel. Not impressive but does the job if your hungry. I had the mushroom bisque which was very tasty but a little on the salty side but great flavor. I also ordered the Klaro salad with salmon (didn't get a pic of it) but the salad was just ok. The salmon didn't have much flavor but was cooked to perfection. The dessert was good was also basic. Overall, nice ambience, quiet and good service. A little on the expensive side but it's to be expected especially if your not wanting to leave the hotel for dining. read more

The k bistro..had Sunday brunch here and it was amazing. Pictured are lobster deviled eggs and cheese platter. We also had smoked salmon tartine and short ribs and eggs. They give you complimentary scones to start ..which are to die for ..served with fresh jelly. The acoustic guitarist played softly in the background. Beautiful surroundings and decor...super friendly and efficient service by Lisa. Rooftop bar opening in two weeks. A bit pricey for sure ($160 plus tip for three) but This place will definitely be a regular stop for me. read more
