I travel frequently for work and stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Boulder for 17 days this past February. I loved being on the top floor in a corner room, but the room layout felt a little awkward for a longer stay. It was not a deal breaker, but after that many days it started to feel a bit off. One thing that was definitely inconvenient was the distance to the laundry room. My room was on the complete opposite side of the hotel and the floors did not connect, so doing laundry meant a full hike to the other side just to wash, again to switch it to the dryer, and again to pick it up. Not really something the hotel could fix, just one of those annoyances you notice when you are living out of a hotel for that long. When you travel for work, you really just want everything to be as simple as possible since you are already displaced from your normal life. I did not interact much with the staff because I used the side door entrance that was closest to the elevator, but the few interactions I did have were pleasant. The only thing that really caught me off guard was the six dollar water left in the room. At the time, I was a Platinum Elite member and it was advertised that bottled water would be provided for free in the room. When I took the six dollar water because there was no other option, the next time housekeeping came it was not even replaced. Definitely not the end of the world, but not exactly what I would have expected for the status benefits or what was originally offered. Overall, I would stay here again because the location was great. The small grievances were really just me being nitpicky after a long stay, but it was a fine experience for the time I was there. read more

Our grandsons were playing a concert at Roots Music Project which is about 2 minutes away, so we decided to stay here. it's kind of in a weird area, not scary weird, just kind of industrial and off the beaten path. But the hotel itself was nice and while not fancy, it was certainly clean and comfortable. What made me give it 5 stars however is the front desk customer service. Harold checked us in, and he was extremely polite and friendly and helpful. The other gentleman working was also very polite (didn't catch his name). We wanted a drink prior to the concert , but the Bistro Bar didn't open until 5:00PM, and it was about 4:15, but we bought a beer and a small bottle of wine from the pantry and they opened the wine for me and brought me a wine glass from the bar and they opened my husband's beer for him. very nice! After the concert, we came back to the hotel and ate at the Bistro. The food wasn't the best, but certainly was fine and the service was again great! I would not hesitate to stay there again. read more

I had a deeply disappointing experience with this hotel. I made a reservation, but the night before my arrival I had an unexpected family emergency. Because of that, I wasn't able to provide the required 24-hour cancellation notice. I was even happy to reschedule my reservation, but they said no. While I fully understand that policies exist for a reason, I was hoping for at least a bit of understanding and compassion given the circumstances. Emergencies aren't planned, and it would have meant a lot (and provided them with a repeat customer) if the staff had shown some flexibility or basic empathy. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I HIGHLY suggest not booking here, the staff are robots and have no compassion for their customers. read more

Checked in around 9PM. The bistro bar is kind of equipped like a Starbucks. They have an speedy oven to make my loaded tater tots and flatbread. They were also out of a few other things. We got it to go and went back to the room to eat. It was all ok. The king size bed was comfy, there were black out curtains. On the first floor with direct access to the parking lot but I felt safe. Unfortunately my boyfriend's bike which was strapped to the back of his truck was stolen. The thief cut the lock. The front desk said to file a police report and fortunately he was able to use insurance to get some of that money back. The pool area is clean and there's a hot tub. Both are indoors. I went into the inner courtyard as well. The sink was outside of the toilet and shower which was nice. read more

We really only slept here so I don't have a lot to say as far as service. The location is fine-- at the end of Pearl Street (do not expect to be near the mall). Whole Foods and Target are within east walking distance, which is nice. The room was clean. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided, which is convenient. We didn't use any of it (brought our own), so I can't speak to the quality. We were checked in by a very friendly employee and any time I needed anything, I was dealt with professionally and kindly. The water pressure is fine. The towels are thin and scratchy. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The heating/cooling unit was outrageously loud. It was wonderful to be able to open a window!! Service here is amazing... stayed here for Ironman and Haley and Harold had coffee waiting for the athletes at 3:30 in the morning. Then I could not get back to the hotel due to a trip to the med tent. Kyle made sure I was OK and helped with a super late check out so I could shower and pack up when I eventually made it back. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and the kindness of the folks working here was top notch! Would totally stay here again! read more

We stayed at this hotel while visiting the super cute town of Boulder. The hotel is a little out of the way from the downtown, but that makes it more affordable and less crowded. The staff was very friendly upon entering and got us checked in very promptly. The pool and hot tub room are very nice, clean, and spacious. It's neat too because if you sit in the hot tub at night you can look up at the stars through the glass roof. So pretty! The rooms are very cute, clean, and modern yet cozy. Beds are very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and was so fancy! One key detail about this location: It sounded like there is a train track very nearby so if you're sensitive to noise, I'd recommend bringing ear plugs. It's a courtyard in the middle of a renovation. Rooms are spacious with a balcony (presumably for smoking?) but it's too cold to venture out and figure if it's big enough to stand/sit on. Plenty of free parking. Close to the boulder airport (like walking distance). Clean lobby, empty workout room, pool, ... great water pressure. Lots of instant hot water. New wall decor and furniture but old popcorn ceiling (if that bugs you). Large tv. Tons of outlets for charging. read more

This hotel is clean, has friendly staff, and has modern rooms that are well laid out. The sink is outside the bathroom and in front of a very large mirror and counter. We didn't hear our neighbors or any traffic and the blackout curtains kept the room pitch black. Great stay! There was a train that went by but it wasn't super loud. read more

This hotel is in a great location. Lot of challenges with it though. If you are a Bonvoy member, don't expect normal service. You won't be offered water and they don't care about your status. Apparently, after talking to various employees, the GM that has been here for many years has really not been great to work with and is not customer friendly. The ownership group owns the residence inn nearby and can do a better job. Clearly...trying to milk the margins here. Need to cater more to loyal customers. read more

Placed inside a business park, this hotel is tucked away from walkable entertainment. If you have a car it's an easy 5-10 minute drive to the heart of shopping/dining. I was neither thrilled nor disappointed with this hotel. However, I couldn't sleep a wink. Note this hotel is right along a highway and train. My business trip required a 2 night stay (almost 3 due to the ice storms in TX) in January. This Courtyard features the new Bistro lobby and a Starbucks (HOORAY!!!). Besides the lobby the rooms were also updated with a large screen TV. Fitness center was well equipped, clean, and in good working condition. Service was fine and the one minor billing issue I had was quickly resolved. For me this Courtyard was convenient to the client locations I was visiting and only a few minutes to the Pearl St eateries/breweries. Front desk and Yelp did a great job pointing me toward dinner options as well. I would definitely return here when I return to Boulder........ read more

3 is pretty spot on. The staff is very friendly and the lobby is very updated and new. The rooms are a little outdated, but the bed was comfortable, and that's the most important thing for me. It's pretty loud at the hotel due to the train that goes by. It's also not very walkable near the hotel (it's in a business park) so if you are looking for a convenient home-base, this might not be the best option. This hotel is located in a nondescript office park, but the inside of the hotel has been nicely updated. It was a convenient location for my business trip purposes and only a 10-15 minute drive from the shops and restaurants in the Pearl St. area. I was really impressed by the staff at this hotel. When I checked in, they did their best to accommodate my room preferences. I first asked for a mountain view room, but they explained that since they only have three stories, the only rooms with any view at all are right next to the highway. I prioritized a quiet room so they put me in a courtyard-facing room, which worked well. The next morning, a manager intercepted me on my way into the lobby and offered to complete the check-out process for me while I got breakfast and then brought me a copy of my invoice in a few minutes. Nice! Breakfast is not included at this property, but it's quick to order at the cafe and a good value as hotel breakfasts go. I got a meal with eggs, toast, potatoes, and turkey sausage plus a large Starbucks coffee for like $14 and everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. Seriously, one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. The room was clean and well-maintained. The bed itself was comfortable, but I did have to add the duvet from the second double bed to be cozy because they are so thin. Basic, but sufficient amenities. There was a "good sleep" kit by the coffeemaker with camomile tea and earplugs, which is a nice touch. Basic internet is free here, which met my needs. In non-peak times, it was fast enough to stream shows, but in the evening, there was a noticeable slow down (can upgrade to the $5 extra faster internet if needed). In the lobby after 4pm, they have a little complimentary snack station with tea/hot chocolate and cookies, which is another nice touch. My only complaints are really small niggles--the light in the bathroom is surgical-bright, the elevator is crazy slow (only 3 floors though), and the aforementioned too thin/light bedcovers. There is no bottled water in the room, so it would be really nice to have filtered water stations in the lobby/hallways to be able to fill glasses or personal water bottles for drinking water. read more

This place is a joke. I reserved and paid for a room for a king size bed. The host knew that there were none available and instead of telling me before i went to my room i had to climb 3 floors and find out that my room had 2 queen beds. General manager met me when i went back to the front desk and apologized. He made things right and corrected it on the spot. Warren the GM gets 5 stars. Hotel was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. But the 5 stars are really due to the exceptional staff, particularly the 2 folks at the front desk on the morning of 1/21. The internet went down in the night due to a provider issue, but these two employees were so incredibly helpful in finding an alternative option in a stressful situation. I am a bit torn on this review, as we have stayed here several times, and we will probably stay here again, but it will probably depend on what we are in town for The pros: The rooms are great. They have very comfy beds and pillows. Nice couches that pull out. Mini fridges etc. We like to pool area, and especially the hot-tub, which is glassed in, looking out to the courtyard. The Con: Yup, con, the only real issue we have, which is a big one, is the walls are very thin. From doors opening and closing, to anyone talking in the hallway, to very early vacuuming, if you are looking to sleep in a little, this is probably not your place. I reserved a room that day online for a cheap rate. My hotel room was clean, not moist, well kept with a mini fridge, etc. I requested extra squishy pillows so I was happy. I didn't like the trains that went by, but with ear plugs I couldn't hear them. The walls had very good soundproofing in my room so I couldn't hear anyone. The hotel was very nice to me and brought me a razor and shaving cream, helped me order food through a restaurant delivery service (too tired to go out), and also helped me figure out the laundry. The washer and dryer were nicely cleaned and maintained. The hotel over all was super nice. The main areas were great. etc. However, I did find out later from a friend that the Marriott franchise gives money to some companies and political groups I am very against, so I won't be staying in a Marriott any longer. I actually like this place. It sucks that they don't provide free breakfasts, but they do have a full service restaurant downstairs. The rooms are clean, and the hotel is overall in good shape. Well, I wasn't sure if I should leave 3-4 stars, but because the management was so responsive and comped us for the issues we had, it became a 4. Trying to keep it real and positive, and give credit where credit is due. Also, front desk service was great. They're the ones who told us about Shine restaurant, one of our favorites in all of Boulder so far. The room had a couple of issues that it shouldn't have had, like bugs and a clogged sink, and tbh it was inconvenient (the bug spray they used didn't smell great either) but the good certainly ended up outweighing the bad. read more

Clean rooms, spacious bathrooms and comfortable beds. The location is quiet but only a 10 minute drive from shopping and restaurants. Rates are reasonable. Where this particular Courtyard earns an extra star is their staff at the front desk and the cafe. They seem to have a lot of fun working here and are eager to please. Our rate included breakfast, so I was happy to find a few healthy options, like their oatmeal. You get a huge bowl with a side of walnuts, craisins and brown sugar, plus a banana and some optional almond milk. That'll keep you going until well past noon. I would not recommend staying here. In comparison to other Courtyards I've stayed at, it is pretty run down and dingy. I gave them an extra star because the common areas were nice and they do have some amenities. But the rooms left much to be desired and the location was not that great. You can tell that this was a pretty nice hotel at one time... but not anymore. The outdoor space looks cute and it is laid out well with plenty of parking. They have some lawn furniture and an outdoor fireplace, which is nice. Even though the area it is located in is terrible, (it is next to an abandoned office building and right off the highway on a street with ongoing construction) most of the windows face into the property and you can see the mountains in the background. They have a pool and spa which I did not use. There is also a small gym. I thought it was kind of weird that both the restaurant and little market (at Courtyards they always have a onsite convenience store where you can buy some grab and go food and basic toiletries) were right there when you walk in the front door. I actually mistook the front desk for the market's check out register. It didn't help that there was absolutely no staff anywhere around when we wanted to check in at about 1pm on a Friday. Anyway, even though the common areas are decent, the rooms are in serious need of updating. Actually, they weren't really that dated so just a thorough deep cleaning would do. There were mystery stains on the drapes and walls (they had that fabric wallpaper). I also found the remains of the previous guest's snack when I went to sit down on the couch. Also, they really need to shampoo or replace the carpets and drapes because we were hit with the stench of stale cigarette smoke as soon as we walked in. My husband called back downstairs and asked to be transferred to a non-smoking room but he was informed that the entire property was non-smoking. We later saw people smoking on the balconies so I guess this is not enforced too well. Or, quite possibly it used to be a smoking room but like I said it needs a deep cleaning. We bought some air freshener so it was not a big deal but the main reason I would never stay here again was that the mattress and pillows were lumpy. I did not sleep hardly at all for the 3 nights we stayed there. I prefer a soft mattress and so I sometimes have a hard time at hotels with firm ones but in this case you could tell that the issue really was the age of it. There were springs sagging and poking all over it. The elastic on the mattress pad was stretched out and kept coming off and sheets were thin and worn. Not a pleasant night sleep at all. I think given the state of the rooms and the location, there must be better options in Boulder even though I know most of the other hotels in town are quite old as well. This hotel seems to be set up mainly for business travelers, but we stayed here recently as vacationers. It's a typical Courtyard set-up, with decent beds, a fridge, wifi, exercise room, business center, pool and hot tub. The shampoos and lotions provided are Paul Mitchell, rather than the usual scary stuff hotels offer. Our room was upstairs over the courtyard, which was a great location. We heard the train at night but not too much from our neighbors. Food service is provided by Starbucks downstairs at standard mealtime hours, which works well for business travelers. The staff was helpful. Breakfast is not included in the room price, unfortunately. If you're vacationing or have more time, there are some interesting local restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. The hotel staff was super helpful and accommodating, which made for a pleasant stay. Pricing was high, well over $200 a night plus tax. Four nights ran around $1100! I like using a pool and hot tub when I travel, but the overpowering smell of chlorine and pool chemicals trapped in the indoor enclosure changed my mind. Overall, I'd say about a 3-1/2 star experience, and a better rate would have made me a happier camper. read more

First of all, the warnings about the noise in the rooms are no joke. Between being able to hear everything from either side of our room was annoying. And then there is the passing freight train every morning around 0400. That's super fun, because after a night of fun there's nothing I enjoy more in this world than getting blasted out of bed by a 100,000 ton alarm clock. Then there was the issue of the room it's self. When we checked in, the first thing that hits you immediately is the smell. Some sort of "beer brewed through sweat socks in a filthy laundry room" coupled with a strange chemical odor that we still can't figure out. The first night, we were freezing, so I turned on the heat. Out comes what can be best described as "kitten BBQ" smell from the vents. Had to shut that down right away. Next night, the room is hotter than hell on an August afternoon in Phoenix. Turn on the system again, low and behold out comes some sort of a stench like frozen Eskimo farts. The bed was uncomfortable. The pillows caused me to pinch a nerve in my neck. The shower was another in a long line of hot messes. Is it that hard for room service to put shampoo in the room in these days where the TSA has me having to nibble my old spice down to 1oz before I get in the plane? Evidently here at Courtyard Boulder its far too much to ask. As for the layout of the room, its a shoebox and it is laid out in the worst possible way I have ever seen. Best of all, the bill. I wasn't paying for this room, my family was as I was there for a wedding. At $230 a night, plus fees and taxes, all I can come to as a conclusion is "you've gotta be fucking kidding me!" They were gouging everyone as it was Parents Weekend and the Boulder/UCLA game at UC Boulder this weekend. And as a final insult, the Starbucks downstairs closes at 10:00am. This doesn't work if you've had a fun night out as this hotel is in the ABSOLUTE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE in Boulder. You can't just stroll out to find coffee or carbs, so keep that in mind if you need to mainline coffee in the morning to get the props spinning. Needless to say, this was a first stay/last stay moment for me in Boulder. read more

CLEAN is an understatement it's rare to find a hotel where I feel comfortable walking with no shoes on love this the most!! This was not a very good experience. Overpriced and underserved. I paid over 200 a night for a cold "hot tub", a hairdryer that ripped my hair out, a bottle of wine that was bitter and made me sick (and cost 38 dollars) and no breakfast unless you eat at the onsite restaurant. And no microwave in room. I had to go down to the front desk to heat up some leftovers. I stayed at Choice hotels earlier in the week for the friends and family rate, some as low as $39 a night with MUCH better experiences. And free hot breakfast. Not so at this courtyard. I will say one nice thing, there was a balcony and a nice shower in our room with plenty of wall mounted shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Even so, I would not stay here again.... read more
