I loved this resort. We decided to have a weekend getaway with the little ones and we encountered this hotel at a decent price. To start I have to say that all the employees that i encountered from the check in to the breakfast bistro and the bar were all great and serviceable. Now the room was big and comfortable, the sofa bed was not very comfortable to sleep so be aware if you plan to use it. Room had a fridge and microwave which are always a must for us. Once you are checked in you can also use the amenities of the neighbor hotel which we didn't do by i thought it was cool if you are staying more days. The hotel has 2 pools which we checked both out and they were not to big but nice enough. What i would say is that you would encounter a lot of adult couples or adult families relaxing. It's not really tailored for families with small children. Plenty restaurants in the area and close by beaches. read more

Title: Save your money -- stay at the Faro Blanco Resort side, not the Marriott Courtyard We chose the Marriott Courtyard at Faro Blanco expecting Marriott quality and a true resort experience. Unfortunately, that is not what you get here -- especially for nearly $500 a night. Here's the reality: The property is split into two very different sides. The Courtyard side (where Marriott guests stay) is clearly older and more worn, while the Faro Blanco Resort/Yacht Club side is noticeably newer and better maintained -- and often about $100 cheaper per night. Our room on the Courtyard side had: * Very worn, outdated carpet * Thin walls -- you can hear normal conversations from the next room * Overall dated feel that does not justify the price To make matters worse, many of the amenities heavily promoted in marketing -- including the lighthouse restaurant -- are on the other property, not where your room is located. This creates a very misleading expectation when booking. Dining was another disappointment. The pool bar on the Courtyard side used dirty laminated menus, while the other side had cleaner, newer menus and a much better atmosphere. At this price point, guests shouldn't have to "find the good side of the resort." Even more surprising: You cannot charge meals or drinks to your Marriott room, despite staying at what is marketed as a resort property. That alone makes this feel far from a premium experience. We were also told there is a strict 36-hour early checkout penalty, even when expressing dissatisfaction with the room. Bottom line: This property is trading on the Marriott name and Keys location, not on quality. If you're coming here, skip the Marriott Courtyard entirely and stay at the Faro Blanco Resort side instead -- you'll likely save around $100 per night and get a noticeably better experience. We chose to stay at this hotel on a recent visit to the Keys where I had to stay in Marathon and I enjoyed myself. It's conveniently located right before the Seven Mile Bridge with many shops and restaurants situated nearby. The property was beautiful, well kept, and clean. I liked the location at the Faro Blanco resort area. There is a nightly happy hour special and the sunsets here are stunning! The beds were very comfortable and the close proximity to the seven mile bridge and the end of Key West make this an ideal location to be in close but not stay in the middle of the action. It was explained to me that some people stay in Marathon to be in close proximity to Key West without being in the heart of all the hustle and bustle. I would definitely stay here again during my travels to the Keys. read more

Stayed January 7-11 - The property was just perfect - outstanding pool scene, pool bar, and hot tub right by the water. Nice hotel and the staff is excellent. From checking in to everything else was flawless. We had a loose toilet seat and engineering came and installed a new seat out of the box. We stayed here to visit the Dolphin Research Center to swim with the amazing mammals. Also it's close to Key West. Good times. read more

This was a really nice resort with a nice staff. It shares a property with the Hilton there is an option to visit that side as well. I really liked this side better - there was the infinity pool and hot tub along with the Tiki bar, which made really fantastic pina coladas! All in all, very good option if you don't mind being an hour from Key West. read more

We arrived late at night. Traffic. Room was clean. The beach sauce was nice. We were in our room less than 12 hours so the resort fee seemed high. I also ordered on Expedia "2 queen with view" (see attached photo) and got a view of a parking lot and hotel. The bed was nice and firm. read more

The night paradise turned into a nightmare... After 12 long hours of travel, 5 flying and 7 driving, we finally made it to what we thought would be our dream vacation in the Keys. Just as we were about to fall asleep, the fire alarms went off. There was a fire. We had to run outside into the cold, half-dressed, scared, and completely exhausted. What happened next was even worse. We stood outside for almost two hours with no updates, no help, nothing. Firefighters had blocked the exit, so we couldn't even leave. My son was shivering, my kids were scared and crying, and I saw other families in the same situation. We went to a smaller lobby to try and calm the kids down, but it was packed. When they asked for water, I had to pay $10 for a small bottle. The staff didn't offer any support or even check on the guests. When we were finally allowed back in, the hotel smelled like smoke, and the carpets were wet. No one apologized. No one said a word. I understand the fire wasn't their fault. But how they handled the situation--especially for a hotel that calls itself "luxury"--was honestly very disappointing. Choose this hotel if you must. But know that when things go wrong, you may find yourself truly on your own. Thankfully, the rest of our vacation was amazing. But that first night? We'll never forget it, and not in a good way. read more

GEM OF A PROPERTY!!!! My family and I have been coming here for years. This little private oasis has out beat " luxurious" hotels in my opinion. The staff is wonderful, the hotel has a beautiful clean signature sent that really give the vacation vibe. The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. They are not dog friendly, they do have a service animal exception though. They are located right next to a beautiful marina which makes a great evening walk. The food on property has never been outstanding so I do recommend going out, unless you're looking for just a poolside snack. The bar is great, they have movies most evenings. Two pools to enjoy, in prime location off the overseas highway just a punch south of the turtle hospital. The rates are more than reasonable. If you are wondering if this is a good fit to stay for a few nights, please book here and experience it yourself. It is pure serenity. read more

Clean, convenient, and shared amenities with Faro Blanco next door. There are two pools (including an infinity pool), large yard games, coin operated laundry, and a beautiful gym. We are in a king room with a partial ocean view, and a walk out patio. I am a Marriott fan anyways, and this Courtyard does not disappoint. Only feedback is that it could have been cleaner. We found somebody else's old jar of Tostitos spinach dip in the mini fridge- which is a very small fridge. And it seemed very old and crusty, so may have been there for a bit. read more

I loved staying here and would stay again. The biggest draw is in the back of the building with the outdoor bar/restaurant and infinity pool. The rooms with a view and balcony are also very nice. They have a convenient breakfast area in the lobby, a nice gym and free bike rental. I think what made my stay even better was Marlon the front desk supervisor. So kind and great customer service. My only complaint was the daily resort fee AND parking fees which really add up! read more

Used Resort Pass to spend a day by the pool on a Sunday. The hotel is very nicely well-kept. Everything is clean. The lounge chairs at the pool were not the most comfortable and the pool itself is not that big. What really makes this place awesome is the beautiful view and breeze from the water. There is no beach but you can walk down a small dock and see parrot fish swimming by. It was very peaceful. Later on in the day it filled up with families. The music was very "hotel lobby" type but there was a man with a guitar setting up for the sunset hours when we were leaving. Looks like they have many things to do like bike rentals and outdoor movies if you do stay here which is nice. The food and drinks were standard for a hotel. I did enjoy my grouper sandwich even though it was rather pricy. Definitely a nice and inexpensive way to spend a day in the Keys. read more

A really, really nice hotel with modern accommodations right along the waters of Marathon! This is a pretty pristine hotel, without being too high brow where it feels snobby. There's just good vibes, like everyone is on island time and there to relax. Their back pool area is just awesome, they have a hot tub as well and it all backs right up to the water, so the view is spectacular. There's a bar that serves food at the pool too, so if you don't feel like going anywhere you can just grab a bite there. The hotel is walking distance to quite a few other restaurants and shops along Marathon. They don't serve free breakfast at all which is unfortunate and kind of inconvenient, I mean they have a coffee bar where you can purchase food but yeah. The rooms are very nice, always clean and overall this is a great place to stay during your keys getaway. read more

After visiting dozens of Courtyard Hotels, I am used to their level of quality with comfortable beds and clean rooms. What sets this place apart is the extraordinary level of service. Literally, every member of the staff was outstanding. But I want to call out three who were spectacular: Emma won my heart with a warm greeting and thoughtful suggestions. She made me feel very welcome as if she had been waiting for just me to arrive. Lindsey helped with borrowing beach equipment, but, in addition, when I asked if there was a better beach than the nearby Sombrero Beach -- which I had visited the day before -- she told me about her favorite beach, a state park just past the first leg of the seven-mile bridge. She gave me tips and suggestions that only a local would know (and now me). Shamica was the best of all. My wife and I had an urgent business issue back home. She went out of her way to help. She provided shipping tape for a package, lent us a stapler, and printed out what must have seemed like countless pages of an important document. She saved the say for us. Definitely a 5 star hotel, but I had to take off a point for housekeeping issues. Check-in was smooth! Upon entering there was a nice scent and open seating and a Starbucks. The front desk manager was super nice and very attentive! My voice was completely gone and I was unable to speak but that didn't cause any issues because I was provided with all information and more. There's nightly activities and room service. Staff here are AMAZING! Andres and Carlina were phenomenal and very helpful! There's two pools on site and a hot tub. They have nightly movie night and my favorite was the eventide activities. There's pools were super clean and had the best views. Nightly live music and inflatable lounge area. My room was spacious. The rooms have a microwave, tv and mini fridge. Now, and I had to takeoff a point because it was clear that my floor was not vacuumed as there was garbage on the side of the bed and one of the lamps had someone's hair and also the bathroom could use a light sweeping. read more

This is a review for the cabanas. We booked through resort pass for an over the water cabana. We got there and the whole lagoon they were on was covered in dead sea grass. Part of the booking was for snorkeling. There was no way. It was dark and smelly water. We went back to the front desk where they accommodated us and gave us a pool cabana. The cushions were moldy and they were on the side of the hotel. Very boring location. There also was a lot of dead sea grass on that side that was decomposing and smelled like rotten eggs. Everything else was very nice. Just not the cabana experience. Apparently, this happens this time of year. We canceled the booking for a credit. We booked another resort's cabana for another day. They were gracious enough to call me and ask if I still wanted to do it because the weather wasn't very favorable that day. Wish this resort would've called me. Live and learn I guess! We spent six enjoyable days at the Courtyard in Marathon. The hotel is comfortable in every way and every staff member we dealt with was pleasant and professional. We were upgraded to a waterfront large room after we mentioned we were celebrating our 50th anniversary. The Vibe at the waterfront café and pool was lots of fun. The location in the middle of the Keys was excellent. Nearby there were countless restaurant options and Happy Hours. The only suggestion we have to offer is a better breakfast offering. read more

Pros: -Great location -Very clean facility -Great pools -Friendly Staff -Shuttle Service -Beach chairs and umbrellas -Low resort fee $20 per day Cons: -One of two shower heads in our room worked -Spigot in tub did not work (could not fill tub) -Super low water pressure -Hotel claimed they could not clean rooms do to COVID yet no employees seemed to care about COVID. No masks were worn and no glass between you and the front desk people. Seems like Marriott just wants to save a lot of money on housekeeping. -The "restaurant" is a joke. It's a pool bar that serves horrible food. We ordered a hamburger which was not edible and the wife ordered mahi tacos and said mahi was good but the rest of the taco was horrible. -The drinks at the bar range from $16-18 which is very steep for mediocre drinks. Corona cans cost over $6.50 so buy a case at Publix. We were planning on renting a boat but after looking at the "marina" I chose not to. The "marina" is not very well kept. This resort has the potential to be great, they just need a few tweaks. read more

I contacted the hotel and they assured me that my credit card would be credited for the food/beverage credit, but I still haven't received it. My suggestion would be to ALWAYS take the Marriott points to ensure you receive the appropriate customer reward for being a devoted Marriott member. read more

Went to this Courtyard due to its proximity to where we wanted to snorkel and fish. After snorkeling, fishing and bike riding we expected to be able to relax in a hot tub and unwind. The hot tub did not work all week and no one was working on it. When we checked out, I noticed on my invoice a charge to my room for close to $200 that we did not charge. I mentioned this to the front desk, and they said the manager would be in at noon and correct it. The day after we got home, we received another invoice that not only included the $200 that was not ours but somehow had increased even more. I keep adding it up and my credit card is being charged $262 more than the total I come up with. I would be very careful saying your room number and name when charging drinks or food to your room as I feel there is some shady clientele there that steals this info and enjoys charging their items to your room, especially on the weekend when it seemed locals from possibly Miami come for the weekend. read more

Nice rooms, good location, lots of pool chairs and beautiful ocean view. But- non guests can easily access the amenities because there is no check-in by the pool. Keyless gate entry and no one checks on the people sitting around the pool. Parking is also easily accessible and no one seems to be checking for the tags. Also, maybe a quiet pool area is not so bad an idea. Lately I've had to wear earphones just to get some shut eye or able to read a book. read more

We give it five stars for overall quality, it's clean, the rooms are spacious, the views are amazing as is the location. But what made us enjoy our stay most was the staff. Each employee we met were very friendly and courteous and each went out of their way to be helpful and with a smile. The Bistro cafe staff were the Best! We ate breakfast there every morning and enjoyed the food and the employees, especially Carlene. I never saw her without a smile and kind words for everyone. I saw her under pressure when the line was long for ordering breakfast and she was the only one but she never stopped smoky and saying thank you to each guest! She exemplifies what a company wants from its employees...friendly, polite, and always smiling with kind words for all. The Blue Water cafe was the same when it came to people working at their bar and outside cafe. Friendly, helpful and happy employees. BTW their sale of mixed greens with pecans, blue cheese and strawberries was excellent as is their peel and eat shrimp...very sweet and tasty. Thank you for a great week. I stayed at the hotel over the July 4th weekend. The hotel seemed clean and the staff was very pleasant. The problem started when I woke up with what I thought was mosquito bites.. as the nights progressed they multipled. It turned out to bed bed bugs. All over my thighs, back, legs, chest..Also, the day I checked out my bill was for $300+.. which was fine. This is until I checked my Amex. in addition to that they had billled me for an addition $260. i Spoke to Andrea who assured me it will be refunded. Weeks later no one has refunded my card. Andrea said to dispute with my card. very poor customers service!!! read more

We loved this hotel! Much better than your typical Courtyard. The pool area is very nice and they leave pool towels in the room. The staff here are really friendly and make sure you're happy. Mahi tacos!! Chopped salad with mahi of course.. Rooms were clean. Nice sized. Just great! Nice products also. The pool areas were wonderful. The main scene of infinity pool was superb. I do STRONGLY SUGGEST REPLACING CHAISE LOUNGERS & SEATS PLEASE! The ones by the adult/quiet pool were so much more comfortable.... Nighttime: Sunset celebration was cool. Fun. Gorgeous! The location and property are beautiful. We were greeted promptly and thanked for being a Bonvoy member. We stayed in Room 220. Room was large, but we noticed one of the walls was filthy. I wish I took a picture. We requested 2 pillows and one of the front desk gals came to deliver so I showed her the wall and she jokingly said it looks like someone has been playing handball but would have someone come and clean it the next day. We opened the mini frig and a small roach came out. We killed it. The next day we moved one of the backpacks on the chair and we found another one. At this point I wanted a new room. So I went to the front desk and just kindly asked to be moved and told her what I saw. There was no expression, no apology, and said they won't know when a room will be available because they are full. I said that's fine but we can't stay in a room with roaches. We would be gone the whole day so we weren't in a rush. They later moved us to room 216. read more
