Visited this past summer with our family and we had a great time! Most importantly, the rooms were very clean. Pool was big and clean as well. Great accommodations for our boat. My only complaint is of the continental breakfast which was included but due to COVID-19, they couldn't have an open buffet style breakfast. Breakfast was different every day. A cold bagel with a Tropicana juice, a box of cereal with milk or a banana and a yogurt. This isn't my idea of breakfast while on vacation. The free coffee wasn't good either the Starbucks coffee was okay but had to be laid for. 5 starts if they can get the breakfast situation handled. Would definitely go back. read more

Excellent daytime staff and amenities are clean. If you need WiFi don't come here. Pete tells me the place is built like a bunker and they always have WiFi problems. I guess they don't know that by installing more routers the problem would be solved. read more

Solid. Rooms are like mini-suites with a sitting area, desk, fridge, etc., as well as the expected bed and bathroom. There's two pools available, both are heated. There's a restaurant right behind the hotel called the Lighthouse that has great food and an outdoor bar. The front desk also has a lobby bar and food as well. They also have a free buffet breakfast. Wi-fi is a bit slow and can fade in and out. Cell coverage is poor in the rooms, on both T-Mobile and Verizon. I needed to catch up on a bit of work so I took my laptop to go sit at a table on the pool deck and used my phone to tether. That worked fine when outdoors. They're pet friendly and I think our dog had a great time. There's a marina behind the hotel that you can use to take your dog on a little walk in a pinch. It is 08/21/2020 and I am currently in this hotel until Tuesday 08/25/2020 with my wife and my 3 children, we are not tourists, but locals from Florida and regulars of the keys and here to support the local business, I booked a room for 6 people even if we are only 5 because, we like the comfort, I specify all this because I want the hotel staff know who is writing this comment and that I'm not hidden behind a computer ... so, just to explain to you that we have rather poor customer service and unfortunately really not listening to the customer, well I understand that the Covid-19 has changed a lot of thing but really should not be abused and reduce the service because of the covid. I start with my great disappointment with the breakfast (well if you can call it that) no buffet of course but instead a cold bagels, a cream cheese, a banana, a juice and 1 spoon and napkin wrapped in plastic then all that in the bag (knowing that on their site they inform that they serve a hot sandwich) I ask for an espresso coffee They told me I have to pay an extra LOL, I ask them all the same should not be abused given the head of breakfast but the staff present don't want to know anything, it's shameful ... so we have a room for 6 but hey not enough shampoo (only for 2) not enough towel (only for 4) and not enough sheet, no maid either to change all that (Covid-19 you understand LOL) ... I ask to connect my Apple tv but hey he does not understand what I'm talking about (whereas any hotel you give the ip address of your apple tv and it plugs it in). We usually have a family trip to Marathon once a year and most of the time we chose this Hyatt. The staff is very friendly and they always go above and beyond. We usually trailer a boat, and although at times we arrive a bit too late there is usually someone there to assist us and making sure we have no problems. The rooms are always clean and we have never had a complaint. They have a small cafe downstairs where they serve breakfast and even offer some Starbucks coffee. read more

I would immediately change my rating from 1 star to 4/5 stars if this place had a proper fish cleaning station for the marina. The hotel is great, the location is excellent, and the marina is in good condition. They lack in providing adequate ice without having to literally beg for it. I just returned yesterday from a trip with 7 other boats where we all coordinated and arrive together. There is only 3 cleaning tables and they are all privately owned by charter captains. When I asked the commercial captain if I could use his table to clean fish he responded "this is BS, this place needs to build a cleaning station, and I have begged them. People clean fish on my table and the fish gets all over my damn boat". At that point I went back to the bot slip they we were assigned and cleaned them on my hands and knees on the dock. My boat caught 18 mahi and I had to clean them on my hands and knees on the dock because there is literally no place to clean fish. How can you be a "fishing marina", and not have a cleaning station for a minimum of 6 people to clean fish at one time. There is plenty of room where they can adequately build one. This is the third year in a row that we have gone to the Faro Blanco, but will likely be the last as we have requested a cleaning station to be built and have had zero response and zero accommodation. There is a hotel next door that is willing to take our group and has promised an area that we can clean fish appropriately. read more

After being stuck behind two slow going tractor trailers going 40 m.p.h. On HWY 1 for 50 plus miles we where relived to finally reach our destination. Upon entering the hotel it was quite clear that there was a lot going on at the check in counter. We where in line behind a couple who's behavior was intrusive and rude and obviously not comprehending what the concierge was try to explain to them not only was I frustrated with their behavior after 10 minutes the line now formed behind me was as well. To Kristina's credit she maintained her composure when she could of been frustrated. After these customers left Kristina did not let their abuse of her hinder her approach to the rest of the others waiting to check in. We have two auto dealerships and over 160 full time employees. Front line employees are essential for any businesses success. Kristina displayed the proper aptitude and willingness to be a great "front line" employee . read more

This is a very good hotel. It connects its own pool to the marina where a restaurant and boats are surrounding you. The light house is very well maintained and stands up as a landmark nicely. The Light House Grill has early birds specials that we just love plus you could see people in the pool playing. The ambient mimics a big rich family in a nice big house with a nice pool. Positive side: Great location. Beautiful marina. Hotel staff nice. Negative side: Maintenance issues abound. Broken shower rack. Towel holder in bath is rusted badly. AC system so loud that I actually got up at one point to look outside for a train. Dog food was spilled in stairwell for three days. Also: while trying to have a relaxing breakfast, a family brought a dog into the dining area. It barked for food constantly and only quit barking when they fed it food from their plate. I give this hotel 2 stars in context of their prices verses quality of product. read more

On Sundays at 10am Sam from Marine Science delivers a workshop, Eco Experience at the hotel. My boys (9 and 11) loved the presentation. We got to touch and feel a variety of sea life, and learned a ton about the sea life in Florida reefs. I highly recommend you check this out. Recommended. This is a very nice hotel. We commend it. The only "problem" with it, as all places in the Keys, is the price. As greedy as it is, hotels know they can get away with charging high prices here for rooms that would be $100-$130 a night in most other areas. The hotel itself was great. The rooms were nice, the staff courteous and the free breakfast was very good. The issue is with Hyatt's checkout/cancellation policy. They require 72 hour notice to not only change your reservation prior to check in, but also to check out early. This is different from the policy of other large hotels like Marriott and Hilton. However, when we checked out one day early because our business was finished, the manager said she understood our situation, and would make an exception for us, charging us only for the three days we actually stayed. I was very pleased that she accommodated us, only to see that my credit card was later charged for an additional day! After calling customer service, we were told that is the policy, even though I had a receipt showing I paid for three days. This is unreasonable and dishonest. We won't be staying at Hyatt hotels in the future. read more

For the location and price, I was appalled they had severe bed bugs. These photos are of my husband's back after sleeping one night without a shirt on. I complained and made them give me my money back for the next night I had booked, and they did because they know! These pictures speak for themselves. I'm only warning anyone looking to stay there. I stay at Hyatt Places all over the US and this one is the only horrible one I've ever been to. Less than half the space and double the price as others also, due to location. It's so not worth it. When traveling to the keys, accommodations can be tricky, and for someone (like me) who doesn't go there frequently, it can be a gamble on what you choose. Sometimes you get a diamond in the rough, and other times, you pay a boatload for a dump. So, if you want to be safe, I suggest staying at the Hyatt Place in Marathon. Since it's more or less in the middle of the string of keys, you can get to most anywhere without a major drive. Upon entering, Joy and Maria will kindly check you in. The lobby is neat and tidy. They have beverages (including a bar) and snacks (gooey chocolate chip cookies and more) on hand 24/7 so you will never go hungry. There are three computers available for your use. Behind the hotel, you will find a lovely pool. If you go further, you will see a giant chess set, a giant Jenga game, corn hole and croquet. The lawns are beautiful. There is dining and a pretty view of the water. The entire hotel is neat and tidy, and you will often see employees cleaning and vacuuming. Our room was perfect, along with the bathroom. Nice comfy beds, thick luxurious towels, mini-fridge and iron/ironing board. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. This is not your run-of-the-mill basic hotel fare. The skillet open-faced sandwiches were delicious, as were the other offerings. Could I have the recipe for the egg and bacon skillet? We initially intended to stay one night, but it was so enjoyable, that we stayed two. A special shout-out to Maria for assisting with an Expedia dilemma (I accidentally reserved the wrong night, but she handled it quickly and efficiently). I would not hesitate to stay at the Hyatt Place at Marathon Key again. read more

The Hyatt was clean and comfortable. Well situated and quite accommodating. Tom checked us in. He was very personable and oriented us to our surroundings. When we told him it was my husbands birthday he offered a bottle of their proprietary wine as a gift and told us the Lighthouse Grill on the premises offers a free entree to Birthday Guests. The free breakfast featured something for everyone, albeit 'store bought' bakery goods rather than actual bakery treats. I would definitely recommend the Hyatt especially if you prefer a clean modern environment, there are a few other locations that are contemporary but others are cozy and 'weathered'. by the way, The 'free' dinner at the Lighthouse Grill was terrible, I don't want to disparage their generosity but it was BAD. read more

This is a very good hotel, the kind of ones you dont tend to get in the Keys generally... Everything is new, clean and nothing falling apart. The breakfast is good and the pool and surroundings are good too. The issue comes with the rooms... Although the rooms are well furnished with the most modern stuff, half of them have a problem. The ones on the ground floor are all right on the parking level. People just stand by your windows. Our room was good but with people standing outside the window, there was no way we could open the drapes. We informed the management about it but they did not care about it. I would recommend getting into the hotel only if you get a room on the second floor or maybe try another hotel. The fact that the hotel plan is so bad and also the fact that the management does not care make me give 2/5 rating to this hotel. read more

Highly recommend, I decided to ride my motorcycle down to Key West Southernmost Point to take a photo with bouy. However after making multiple stops at multiple bars I needed a place to crash for the night. This place was available and price was good, room is clean, bed nice and comfortable, good a/c, nice staff. Free breakfast didn't eat as I plan to eat at a local breakfast spot. Great spot to stay when you are around the Keys, the hotel is beautiful and if you are with kids is amazing accommodation. The hotel includes hot breakfast that we were amazing with the quality of it, and the best part is that is pet friendly. Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with our 2 daughters. From the moment we arrived (5 am check in on the morning of our reservation with no extra fee) we were greeted and taken care of by every single staff member we met. We stayed in room 301 which was a King Suite using Hyatt points + cash and it was well worth it. Lots of room, 1.5 bath, dining area, kitchenette w/ microwave & fridge and a pull out sofa bed. Hot & cold breakfast was yummy and staff was nice enough to give me to go containers to allow me to take items up to my family who was sleeping in (breakfast hours run to 930). Used the heated pool over at the Lighthouse - views were beautiful and the area was very clean and relaxing. Our last night we heard a very weird humming sound from the room and didn't sleep very well and upon check out they apologized and refunded our last night's stay. Awesome service! read more

Really cute and convenient. Got in at almost midnight, being that there are few hotels open in this small town/island this time of night they were so welcoming. The ppl are really nice and accommodating. Our phones were dead and we only had car charges and they supplied full use of almost any charger we needed. This was a last minute stay over night so we were not quite that prepared. Steve during the grave shift was nice. The lady at the front desk even made sure my 4 year old had the view of the pool on the first floor. Very thoughtful when you have kids. Made us happy we stayed at this hotel.
