I've stayed here many times since 2012, I'm sure over 10 times. It has gone way downhill since my last visit in 2018 or 2019. There just aren't many staff working and they aren't the friendly and knowledgeable ones I remember from days of yore, the kind who recognized you (because we came regularly...). The bistro looks oddly empty: the back wall where I think there would be bottles of booze and the drinks/to-go food display case are empty. The room: every room used to have a mini fridge and apparently that is now on request only. Mine had one sitting on the floor already but my colleague was told she had to request it. The hotel was unusually empty compared to all of my previous visits and there was a sketchy looking couple down the hall one time too (I didn't talk to them so I can't say for sure if anything was up). The price is unusually low for a Courtyard these days, and I suspect there is new management that isn't putting in the work to maintain Courtyard standards. read more

Please don't waste your money. I booked a room at this Marriott months in advance for a vacation. I was disappointed once I walked into the building. The smell of wet carpet slapped me in the face. I knew to expect the worst after checking-in. When I saw the condition of the room, I checked-out the same day ( 5 mins to be exact). I was informed by the receptionist that it would be hard to get my money back (she was sooo right). I booked a room at the Hyatt and wasn't disappointed at all. Room was tragic, had ants, old, curtains literally were shredded. No fridge in room. Pool was not heated, hot tub jets are broken. I stayed for 3 nights. The second night (saturday) there had to have been 50 kids in the pool and a dozen adults in the hot tub. It was insane. Would not stay here again. read more

I can't in good conscience give this hotel a good review. 1 no small fridge in the room just microwave and coffee maker, which is not a big deal. 2 phone didn't work. 3 no one came to clean our room. 4 dingy carpets, specially the elevator. 5 parking lot is filled with potholes. I made reservations and requested a 1st floor room because I have a service animal. Upon arrival, the lady behind the desk was afraid of my dog. She insisted it was a pet and tried to charge me a 100$ deposit. Another lady came to assist the 1st lady and somehow the 100$ pet deposit went down to $40. According to their website service dogs are exempt from charges. I felt pressured to pay in order to stay there. Once I paid, she hands me the keys - room 315 - I requested 1st floor.. she changed the room to a 1st floor room. I reserved a room at this hotel because it has a hot tub and pool. What a big disappointment. They are broke down and not in use. I was told I could go up the road to their sister hotel and use the pool. They have made accommodations for the guest.. Now who wants to drive in 18° weather to another hotel to go swimming just to go back outside all wet? I surely didn't. The room was clean. The TV remote was broke and hardly functional. The grounds around the hotel was horrible. There was trash and food in the parking lot. There was dog poop all over the grass areas. Cigarette butts all over. Courtyard by Marriott in Flint/Grand Blanc Michigan is NOT A MARRIOTT!! Beware!! It is a deceitful unethical practice by Marriott to sell its name to motels conglomerates . Marriott should be ashamed of themselves for luring a loyal Marriott consumers into reserving a Marriott when it is not and charging us Marriott prices. Courtyard by Marriott in Flint/Grand Blanc was so dirty and smelly I could not believe that it was a Marriott . When I made reservations I was lead to believe it was a Marriott property! It is not owned by Marriott it's owned by some hotel conglomerate and managed by a hotel management company. The reception area computer was covered in dust I could write my name on it. The elevator stainless steel doors were covered with fingerprints from days gone by. The elevators floor molding were ripped off and the carpet was worse very old and worn. When we opened our door to our room the carpeting was warping on the floor and smelled The bathroom had a toilet paper dispenser that was falling off the wall and the room smelled like sweat, disgusting. The balcony door did not completely close and the windows were filthy you could not see out of them. The balcony and it's furniture and chairs were dirty. The rooms finishing were old worn. There were no usb outlets to charge the phones!!! The amenities was body wash only and towel service we had only one face-towel and one bath-towel, no hand towels. It was so dirty we did not shower. The front desk was nice but were not around, people were waiting in line to be greeted. We paid Marriott prices and got a fleabag motel and mediocre service!! Shame on you Marriott!! We were happy to find this hotel since the last time we stayed in Flint, our room cost nearly double. It was only across the street, so we felt good about the area and were pleased when the front desk ladies were so friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, but the furniture was old and damaged, and both the bed and loveseat were without support. It was late and we were exhausted from a long day of traveling, so we just tossed and turned until morning then got up and ready to leave. We usually go down to breakfast, but there wasn't anything, and aside from the single cups in the room, coffee had to come from a Starbucks in the lobby. The whole experience explained the difference in cost, but next time we'll stay at our former hotel. read more

My son attempted to check in on Thursday but no power so they had to manage their way into the room via escort, no emergency lighting. Same on Friday night but we had to arrange for other accommodations, no power. Power was apparently restored at 9pm on Sat. evening, our last reserved night but we were forced to move to another hotel. No accommodations, no power, no emergency lighting, nothing. The hotel offered a 30% refund for one night of 3. Ridiculous. Will not be staying or recommending this hotel in the future. While the power outage was not their fault their handling of the event was very poor. read more

Not pleased with our stay here ... the hotel I very unkempt unlike other Marriott properties the staff in reception was very polite even at our check in at midnight. The room originally given to us was very smelly so we requested a room change and it was quickly addressed. Business Travelers Beware!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!. Be aware that this hotel does not live up to the Marriott or Courtyard brand. There are guests smoking drugs in the front parking lot, and customers selling drugs out of their car by the side entrance. The elevators are broken so you must take the stairs, and when you arrive in your rooms you will find that they are dirty with Sub Sandwich wrappers on the side of the nightstand, cobwebs in the corners, and empty wrappers and pills laying around the room (see just a few of the photos I have uploaded). The furniture is outdated and the beds are old. I would highly recommend avoiding this place at all cost! read more

This hotel is in need of a major renovation. The room smelled musty upon our arrival. There was no fridge or microwave in the room. Also there were no USB ports which are so common everywhere. This hotel is disgusting! As a Titanium Elite member, I was appalled by this hotel. The first room they sent me to smelled like someone smoked a dime bag in there right before I arrived. So I asked if I could move. The next room seemed fine, but when I woke up this morning gf my closed yeti was covered in ants, my drink can was also. The carpets in the elevator looked like they had not been vacuumed since 1946 and the paper over the windows by the pool make the place feel special. How could Marriott allow this to happen to o e if it's hotels. Folks, if this is your k Ky option, just sleep in your car!!! Side note, the lady that checked me in was very nice. not the best experience, I'm still here during my stay and I'm regretting it, trash and used coffee on the floor upon walking in, but the main problem is the breakfast that goes until 10 but nobody has ever seen bast 8-9, none of the employees had good answers of why they advertise amenities they don't have, id be surprised if half the staff has ever seen the free breakfast they say they have, but their more than happy to divert you over to the Starbucks in the lobby to buy yourself some breakfast if you'd like. We stayed overnight in one of the large rooms with the king bed. It was nice to have a balcony for smoking but the bed mattress you could feel the springs in it and the couch that was in the room was so dirty it actually shined. It was overall clean but we were too afraid to look under the sheets to the mattress. It was late at night and we were exhausted. Would only stay here again if we absolutely had to. read more

It has one of those pools they install to say they "have a pool".. too small for any swimming, ok for smaller kids to splash around in.. it was closed on our visit. Don't drink the water!! read more

I've spent a lot of time in this hotel, and I find it very comfortable. There are a lot of options in this area south of Flint on 23, but having stayed at many of the hotels in the area, this is one of my favorites. They staff is always friendly and courteous meeting you at the door, and make you feel like you've spend much more than you have. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable, and I always sleep very well here. 4 Stars! read more

The cleanliness of the hotel gets a zero because we found blood on our sheets and we had to clean our whirlpool tub out before using it. The front desk clerk (Kay) was great she came right away to change our bedding and said that she would tell the manager what happened. Besides the cleanliness of the hotel I feel like this courtyard is not up to date. This courtyard is not up to Marriott standards and should be rated a three star hotel. I really can't see myself giving 4 stars. The staff is​ what makes this place. They are incredibly accommodating​ and super friendly. The lobby and bar area are updated and very clean. The hotel has a pool and a hot tub. Let's get upstairs to the room. It's very outdated. Popcorn ceiling, fixtures look worn, but hey... at least the shower and basin had hot water. The bed though was very comfortable. I'm sad to see a Marriott property like this turn into a Days Inn. But it is, what it is. It is located in an industrial area, so maybe that's the reason the owners aren't interested in investing money on simple upkeep. For people who are driving and have cars, there is a Meijer grocery store right up the street to grab some simple snacks and beverages if you don't want to pay the hotel prices. The staff is really what makes this place. They obviously love their job and were so engaging with a ​conversation​ with me. From the front desk staff to the bartender. Oh, did I forget that? I have stayed over 200 nights in hotels so far this year. I always stay in Marriott branded hotels. This Courtyard in Flint Michigan is the absolute worst Marriott hotel in which I have ever stayed. It is beyond dated. It looks like where 1980 went to die in the rooms. The front desk workers admitted that they were embarrassed by the condition of the hotel. The carpets, the furniture and the walls were filthy and stained and worn out. Where the carpet meet the walls were filled with trash, and dirt build up. The old school closet door tracks were so filthy the doors were difficult to operate. The curtains where ripped and torn. The television did not work the entire three days I stayed there. When I asked the front desk about it. They said the manager had reset the routers and that's what caused everything to stop working. I asked was the manager going to fix it and they said the manager was gone until Monday. Their suggestion was for me to watch my phone. I don't know how to give less than one star or I would. read more

Avoid at all cost. Rooms were being renovated and they put us right next door. Workers were laying carpet and playing loud music while we were trying to sleep. The hotel staff said they were unaware that the renovations would take place before they checked us into the room. Offered a few "breakfast" even though we were catching a flight before the sun comes up. The operations manager, James, said that he's new and unsure how to handle the situation. Was a little skeptic upon arrival as the lobby and hallways look very dirty, carpets soiled, and in disrepair. First room assigned was so heavily smoked in, it was awful. Moved to another room where the king size bed Was bowed in the middle and the sofa also sunk in the middle. It's pretty standard, outside of the Bistro in the morning it doesn't have any wow factors (the starbucks coffee at the bistro is great though). Make sure you ask for a refrigerator in your room when you check in, they are hard to come by! There is a little market place in the lobby for snacks and stuff. It is really easy to get too, right off the highway and within a mile of a Meijier and Scooter's (the greatest bar ever). read more

The hotel overall is very nice and well maintained. It has a very pleasant and bright lobby. The pool and gym are nicely equipped and clean. The rooms are nice and clean if you don't look to hard. I dropped something behind the couch and had to move it out of the way. WOW !!! That was disturbing and I'm glad I didn't see that until the day I was leaving. The bathrooms are dated and very bleh. It's a Courtyard I get it. The sticking point for me was the check in process and Calvin the clerk who checked me in. My traveling companion had reserved both rooms under his name. Easy to put one room in my name when checking in. Done it a 1000 times. Handed Calvin my drivers license, credit card and phone open to Apple Wallet displaying my Marriott Rewards Platinum number. Calvin got what I considered a bit snippish when he told me to swipe my credit card. Asked me my name again though he just had my all of the above listed info in his hands. Finally got the check in done (so we thought) and proceeded to our rooms. Hadn't made it far when we realized he has assigned us both to the same room. Back downstairs we went. Mistakes happen and people have bad days. I get it. Someone went into their system and showed us checked out at 0400 so despite the Do Not Disturb sign housekeeping was knocking on my door bright & early. Final receipt for both of us required another visit to front desk. Wrong information and an erroneous charge on the other. Nice place but could use a little tweaking! read more

We've stayed at many Courtyard hotels in Michigan and other states, and this was by far the worst ... our room's carpet and linens were damp/wet apparently due to poor HVAC operation, the outside parking was in poor condition, the elevators did not work, and the outside hotel and grounds appearance would make you think that the hotel was as abandoned. The room also did not have a fridge and microwave, unlike all other Courtyard hotels that we've stayed at. read more

I have been staying here, while on business trips, for the last few months. The hotel is very clean and the front-desk staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I see a good mix of business people and a lot of families with kids using the pool. The Courtyard is reputed to be one of the best hotels in Flint, MI. I personally stayed at only one other hotel in Flint, the Baymont, and Courtyard is head and shoulders above the Baymont. I would not hesitate to recommend the Courtyard by Marriot to anyone. read more

This Courtyard has a nice lobby but meh for the rest. There is a hotel shuttle to Flint airport that runs 24/7, so I suppose that is a plus. It's located in the middle of an industrial park and while it is close to the freeway, it just feels out of the way. Parking is limited as well so if you come in late, you might have a bit of a walk. I won't stay here again since the Hampton across the highway is newer and nicer. read more

Have to give this Marriott a rating of 2. Not because others say it not the cleanest hotel ( Which it's not) Employees were very nice. I was told upon arrival that because of COVID, they would not be cleaning my room for my 4 day stay. I was OK with that. Had to get my own towels at front desk. OK with that. Had to call front desk to get trash removed from side entrance, as well as in the hallway. Not OK with that. But what really got me was was being charged $10 / day for 4 days in basically a self serve hotel, TO PARK MY CAR. REALLY? Come on, eat the $40 parking fee for the inconvenience created for me. It's not like this place is in a big city fighting for parking spaces. A simple window tag would tell you who shouldn't be parked in lot. Just a money grab, that I didn't know of until arrival (Paid before arrival). Put fee on website so there's no "SURPRISE" when I arrive. DISAPPOINTED. Won't be back.. read more

Furnishings in the room were outdated and accommodations as a whole were merely average.
