Called the cops on me because I said I wanted a working TV. I'm not kidding. Stayed one night, Nov 7, with my adult son -- two rooms. I'm a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member. This was the worst Marriott experience I've ever had, and it wasn't even close. At check-in (around 4:30 PM), I asked for a higher floor. Was told the hotel was sold out, and the top floor was blocked for a football team. No problem -- we dropped bags, left for a Nuggets game. Came back around 10:30 PM. I asked the front desk (Sue, night auditor) if we could get our Bonvoy welcome waters/snacks. I know the third-party rule, but most hotels hook up loyal members out of courtesy. Sue? Zero hospitality. She cut me off with: "You booked through Expedia. You don't get that." Straight attitude. Then I get to my room and the TV doesn't work. I call down. Ask for help -- batteries, another remote, anything. Her repeated line: "I'm not maintenance. I'm just the night auditor." Then she offers to move me -- which made no sense. I was told a few hours earlier the hotel was full. Now she has a room at 11 PM? I declined. I was unpacked and ready for the next day. Eventually, after more runaround and her interrupting me nonstop, she hits me with: "Is there anything else I can help you with?" I told her -- honestly and yes, with frustration: "I want a f***ing TV that works." And that's when it spiraled. She told me she was calling the cops. Then called my room again: "Pack your stuff. The police are coming to remove you." Cops show up, I explain the whole thing. They nod, apologize, and leave. No report, no drama -- just a total waste of their time. Next morning? Hair in the shower track. Showed it to Michael at checkout. He apologized, said he'd escalate it. Still no follow-up. Disgusting service, poor cleanliness, and one of the most insane overreactions I've ever experienced at a hotel. Stay far away from this property -- it's a circus. read more

We have stayed here a few times and it is a Marriott Courtyard: pretty much the standard layout and service for that hotel chain. We booked on the Marriott app ahead of time and let them know what we'd be arriving late -- after 10pm -- and that wasn't a problem. I've been staying at Marriott hotels for a long time and the whole mobile key thing is hit or miss. These days, the keys work 95%+ of the time, but I still have to visit the front desk to check in and have them send the key to my app. (When this tech was touted, one of the benefits was that you would never have to talk to a person: when your room is ready, they shoot the key to your app, it is billed to the card on file and your invoice is sent via email. I have rarely had that experience at any hotel, so I am not dinging them for that, just venting a bit here :) I find it odd that they charge for parking now. This hotel is not in any really convenient location: you can walk to a few restaurants or, I think, a liquor store by crossing a crazy merge-two-lanes-into-one-while-going-around-a-bend-uphill street, but there's not much else around except a Residence Inn. As of July 2025, it is $8 per night to park. On this short visit, we didn't avail ourselves of any of the amenities. Our check in experience was fast (even if we did have to visit the desk), the elevator worked (and there are two of them) and the room was clean, cool and quiet (at least from 10pm to around 8am while we were there). I was able to check out via the app and have the invoice sent via email, so that part worked great. read more

Last hotel before climbing up I-70 west for a ski trip. We booked the breakfast included rate so hot made to order is included which is recommended. Room and bed are not huge and new but functional and meet the needs. Staff is courteous and helpful. Gym is open, water is complimentary so if you need anything else Just ask the front desk. read more

Room 323 is haunted!! I woke up at 12:40 am from a very unsettling and eery dream. The kind of dream that wakes you up in half a panic. I woke up, my room was dark, but my eyes were adjusted. There was an older Asian woman standing at the foot of my bed. When I grabbed my phone to use to find the bedside light switch she was gone in a flash. The room definitely felt cooler than the thermostat in that moment and the moment afterward. I was so shaken that I was about to get up and leave to go sleep in my car. I grabbed the Bible from the nightstand, and slept holding it for the rest of the night. Other than that the hotel was up to par. Nice staff, clean room and comfy bed. I didn't use much other than the bed and shower. read more

Good morning, this hotel was very good. I will stay here again. All the amenities that was here. They had a small Starbucks that served breakfast that was inside the hotel. They had a gym. It was really nice. The room was really good. The ceilings were really high but everything else was good. I will come back here again. This is my second time in Denver. I came to Denver back in 2008. I don't know if this place was still here so things have changed. The city is very beautiful Golden Colorado. If you ever come here, make sure you go to downtown Golden and check out the amenities there. Lots of good places to eat and indulge bistro& wine was a very good place to get some food. Good hotel that has all of your basic needs. Clean and looks new. They have a small little shopping store by the front with snacks and toiletries, which came in handy. They also offer complementary water and there is a water refill station in the gym. Not many toiletries in the room...basic soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and makeup removing wipes but no lotion. The walls are also pretty thin so if you're a light sleeper earplugs would be useful. Breakfast is sadly not complementary but it is offered in the morning for purchase! For the price it's a decent hotel. Close to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre! read more

I reserved a king suite for the weekend and it was the most disgusting hotel I have been in, in 40 years of travel. The hotel is filthy, the parking lot is filthy and needs a re-paving job. The hallways smell like Clorox. My room was very dark with 50 year-old furniture. This hotel has not been updated since it was built, I'm sure. This is the most disgusting Marriott I have ever walked in. I looked at the room, walked right out and got another hotel room. Also, they have a low-end crowd on the weekends attending low-end conferences. I called the Marriott and they don't answer the phone on the weekend. Interesting customer service for a large hotel chain. I don't recommend anyone stay here for the high price, lousy rooms, filthy halls and dining, and decrepit conditions. If you are just passing through this hotel will be just fine. It's clean and the rooms are spacious. The reason I give it an average rating is there are no microwaves in the room, no lotions (CO is super dry), and the WiFi was always going out. I travel for work so it's a necessity to have WiFi and I like a microwave so I can cook or reheat some food up- rather than eating out everyday. I also asked house keeping for lotions since there were none in my room, and was informed how there is only lotion at the front desk. Which was a bummer because CO is soo dry. These are just minute issues that are problems for me, but otherwise the hotel was in a nice location and easily accessible to the highways. I will say, there was one staff member that was particularly delightful. I wish I knew her name, but she was often there for the AM shifts. She was always super friendly and When I called down about the WiFi going (I had a Skype meeting so it was really needed). She was very polite and tried assisting in regaining the connection. She told me to call down if I had further problems, but I just continued to work with the on and off internet. It kept going out for my entire stay, so it was annoying- but most people won't be in the rooms I'm sure. They have cookies out for hotel stayers too- and they are sooooo good! I'm not sure if I would stay here again for a long stay, but if I was in just for a night I would. View was nice too! read more

A year later - still the same good comfort and service - and still no flat panel HD TVs in the rooms. The manager asked me how my stay was - I told him I'd been here a year ago and that overall I liked the place - but that they needed to transition from the CRT style TVs to HD - as well as offer HD channels. He agreed and said it's been on the planning board for a long time - but allegedly their management group was delaying this. Breakfast food in the lobby restaurant was decent - the service was excellent from a young server - she was very efficient and on top of everything - and she was super friendly and personable - unlike some of the grumpy hotel waiters I've experienced at other locations. read more

When we arrived we couldn't find the front door because there was so much construction going on. We were not advised that the whole hotel was being renovated, 7 days a week, all day. Jackhammers, dirt, dust, workmen etc. Breakfast was supposed to be included but was closed. We could go across the parking lot to the residence Inn for breakfast but they didn't have any either. They asked if we wanted housekeeping services and we said yes but when we got back in the room, nothing had been done. Apparently we had to tell them when we left the room and they'd come in 3 hours later. Never told us that. The carpet is terribly stained. We were terribly disappointed in this hotel and will never be here again. read more

I don't know where to begin but here I go.... there is construction on what looks like the entire hotel. No mention of this on the site while booking nor at the front desk once you arrive. For the price this is unacceptable. There is no front entry due to the construction so you must use side door. There is so much noise from them working that it is impossible to sleep in, it got so bad we switched rooms. The included breakfast you ask? It's is a grab and go across the parking lot to the other hotel. The lady at the front has no personality especially given the condition of the hotel, acknowledged what is going on, have a better attitude, etc. As if it wasn't all bad, the sewer smell took the cake. I can't believe they are operating at these prices knowing what they have going on. I will never stay here even after the renovations! read more

The staff were very friendly. The hotel overall was family friendly. It had a small pool that was fun for kids. I wish breakfast was included it cost and extra $10 per person. The room was ok not the cleanest or prettiest. Our bedskirt, curtains, and one comforter had stains. The decor was ok. The room could use a bit of updating. The yellow walls were starting to nauseate me after a few days. The view from our room was great. I didn't feel comfortable with the window in our room. When we opened it the screen popped out. We were able to put it back in. I definitely don't want children playing around any windows but this one I made sure I that I locked it. Lastly, I did not like that there was no recycling bins anywhere. I've been to other places in the area that don't have recycling bins either. Maybe it's a Golden, Colorado thing.? read more

I travel a lot and thus stay in a lot of hotels. I also stay in a lot of Courtyards and this was one of the worst. Most of the front desk staff were nice but one made me feel 'tolerated' as I asked questions about the area. When I called to report my TV remote wasn't working properly, I was told just to use the printed channel list and punch in the station I wanted to watch. I'm thinking this is 2018 and using the up/down button shouldn't be a big ask. Also, I realize this isn't a resort hotel (I was only staying one night) but my wife and I had some time to kill and wanted to relax outside on the patio...we didn't. Not counting the big pile of garbage about 50' away or the broken glass I stepped on, the furniture looked like it was just pulled out of a dumpster. C'mon Marriott, really? read more

When i entered my room, 1. i was assigned handicap room 2. Room has baggage stickers from previous stayed person. 3. Nails and bottle cap on floor 4. Ear buds in bathroom picture frame. 5. They were missing body lotion and in CO you need it. I was staying here for 3 nights so I asked Front desk to change my room they said we are booked so come in morning and we will try to help you. I only give it two stars because the staff is super friendly, and the food at the bistro was really good. Other then that, I hated my time here... I complained several times about the noise. I am here for work, but they seemed to always put kids in the room next to me. Screaming kids, crying babies, loud parents, just horrible. And all the noise was after 11:30pm and 1:00am. Never got any rest staying here. If you are traveling for business, I would avoid this place. If you just need a place to stay... I would still look for something else. I thought I was staying at a Courtyard not a Motel 6. The carpet in the hallways and my room was stained. The mattress on my bed should have been changed out at least 2 years ago. The mattress dipped at least 3 inches in the middle. I stayed for 4 nights and the front desk staff never acknowledged me when I would walk into the hotel in the evenings. The lady working in the Bistro in the evening was squatting down smoking and looking at her phone next to the entrance the 2nd afternoon I walked into the hotel, she couldn't take a break somewhere else? Extremely disappointed with this Marriott branded hotel. Either the hotel GM is totally incompetent or Marriott can't afford to put money in their hotels after their Accusation of Sheraton. read more

Good location if you have a car, nice staff. The rooms are a bit worn and old feeling, I did notice there was new carpet in the room. The bed was OK, not great. I would probably try somewhere else on my next trip. I kind of expect a little more out of a Marriott property. read more

I stayed here 2-nights in March 2018. Pros: * Quiet, very comfortable bed with lots of pillows, large room with large desk & desk lamp for working. Super fast WiFi. Rooms have small fridges & a full size microwave. * Great location, near highway, but with manageable traffic. * Target is nearby & is a great store with anything you might need, especially food-wise. They cater to hotel patrons, so offer a lot of take-out, tasty food options & I'm a picky eater. I got all my food & drinks there. * Front desk staff is efficient & professional, but also very snooty & standoffish. They will give you options for restaurants, etc., but rattle off the list with directions robotically & at breakneck speed, as if they're exhausted by repeating it over & over, daily. A nice touch, is they do offer a small bottle of water when you enter. They're very accommodating, but do seem to address the better dressed guests with more respect... I was traveling cross country, so was in jeans with a leather jacket. The cons: * Very pricey. I paid $130/nt inc tax. * You can have lobby breakfast in the morning & nice, strong SBucks coffee, all for a charge. For what you pay, it should be included. Free, awful coffee in a canister is offered for those who don't wish to pay for hotel b'kfast... it's on the other side of the good coffee, as if the good side/bad side of the tracks barrier is letting you know you only indulge in freebies. * I had a friend pick me up in the am to have my car checked out, so when the front desk saw me leave with him at 7am (my check out was 11am, so I had intended to return to my room before leaving town), they wrongly assumed I wasn't coming back... I hadn't turned in my door card or asked for a receipt... so don't know why they'd assume... so they must have given word to housekeeping that I'd checked out. I suppose I could have mentioned that I was returning, but the lobby was popping with tons of guests getting breakfast & coming in & out, so I didn't wish to stand in line for the front desk & keep my guest waiting. Must have been 50 people in the lobby. When I returned at 10am, housekeeping had left my door ajar & had 1/2 cleaned the room. I entered, locked the door, used the facilities (sorry, but tough luck that they didn't wait), grabbed my last bag, which was in plain view on a chair... can't believe she hadn't noticed I hadn't yet checked out... & left. Nice hotel, but very expensive, although all hotels in & around the Denver area are $$$. If in the area again, I'd probably try someplace else. Solid 3.5* out of 5. read more

Overall, a nice place to stay for money. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Everything there is easy to access - not a lot of walking. Rooms were clean and beds quite comfortable. No, Neal - the TV's haven't been changed - still an old style Zenith in my room. But I'm not really there to watch TV, so as long as it works, no problem for me. read more

Very nice staff working hard to make a bad redesign work. The rooms and facility is nice and clean. The breakfast is a huge mess due to the Marriott Bistro initiative. They have done this at several locations changing traditional buffets into poorly staged badly overpriced bistro. The food is good but you will wait 20-30 mins for a breakfast sandwich. The service is horribly slow, though the employees are working hard. All of the courtyards with bistros are the same. Understaffed and over priced. I can't understand why Marriott does this. I avoid their hotels with this setup. read more

Very disappointed with the Customer Service I received. I had a business trip planned to Denver and a reservation at the Denver West Courtyard. At the last minute my customer, who was also travelling to Denver, told me she could not get a rental car and asked to ride together. She was staying on the other side of town so I thought I would try to move to a location closer to her hotel. Since it was within 24 hours, and my reservation required 24 hour notification for cancellation I called the Courtyard directly and talked to their reservations agent. I explained the situation, told the agent I was a Platinum member, and asked if we could change the reservation within the 24 hour deadline. I asked him to rebook the room for July when I would be returning to Denver. He assured me that it would not be a problem. He then confirmed to me that the reservation was changed to July and that I would be receiving an email confirmation. Based on this verbal assurance I booked a room at a different Marriott property on the other side of town. When I finally looked at my email confirmation later that evening, I was surprised that it was not for July, but rather for the night that I thought I had just cancelled. I quickly called back to the hotel and was connected to a different reservations agent. This agent told me that there was nothing she could do since I was trying to make the change within the 24 hour deadline. I told her that I would not have made my alternate reservation if they had told me this earlier that afternoon. She said there was nothing she could do. Bottomline I paid for two rooms that night. I contacted Marriott Rewards Customer Service and they forwarded my issue back to the Denver West Courtyard. The General Manager sent me an email stating that since his reservation agent did not write anything down he would not be providing me with a refund. Like I said: very disappointed with the customer service. I have started travelling to Denver once or twice a month. I will not be staying at this Courtyard. read more

Great stay. We stayed here about a month ago. We stayed here on our way to aspen. We had a late flight into Denver and did not want to drive to aspen in the middle of the night. We checked in about 11:30 pm the staff we friendly and efficient. Checked us in fast and even offered us water. The room was small but clean. Ever thing looked very well kept. When we checked out very early in the morning 4 am same staff was on at the front desk still smiling. Would stay here again if I was in the area. read more

I stayed here for my friends wedding and at first, I was pleased. Cute little room with friendly staff. My wife and I were watching tv and there was a bug crawling on the wall. Then another in the bathroom. Then one in the shower. Gross. The bed was super comfy for watching tv and half of out. For sleeping, no way. The bed dipped really bad in the middle and we were both fighting our way out. The kink in my neck is awful! Stay next door or down the road. I wouldn't recommend the courtyard. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. While the staff weren't all out rude they were not very friendly. My brother and I flew in from Texas to do some hiking and stayed there because it was close to the hiking site. Demetrius in particular was not accommodating (this is a hotel) he didn't mention anything about the WiFi or amenities offered as NORMAL hotel staff does. Walking in and out of the hotel people from the staff hardly greeted us and just looked at their computers as we walked by. Colorado was a great experience overall but this hotel and staff were terrible. Stay here at your own risk and Demetrius is there when you check in good luck! read more

NOT IMPRESSED. My husband had to come into town for work for a few days, so our newborn & I decided to come along. We love the golden/Denver area. However, when we arrived Sunday evening around 6, the entire front of the hotel was blocked off with construction. When we walked into the lobby, there was no one at the front desk, we waited 10+ minutes for someone to show up so we could check in. When she got to the counter, she said that they are understaffed due to "covid" and she was having to work at the Residence Inn next door, also. After we checked in, we go up to our room, and the keys the receptionist gave us didn't work. So my husband went back to the desk to get working keys. When he got down there, the lady wasn't at the desk again. He walked back and forth around the hotel and the one next door looking for her for over 30 mins (remind you, I'm standing outside of the room door with a tired 3 month old that's ready to go to bed). The lobby is dark and dim, no inviting lighting. Their "market" was practically empty of snacks and drinks. The "breakfast" that's supposed to be included was grab & go cereal, stale bagels, and almost expired fruit and we had to go to the Residence Inn next door for it. Such a pain, I don't understand why they couldn't do that over here in the first place. The last two days of our stay, there has been NON STOP construction in our hallways with saws, drills, and hammers banging away, my daughter hasn't been able to sleep. And they block off the front door to the hotel so they can dig up concrete, and their side door only has steps so I couldn't get our stroller in and out of the hotel. For spending over $100+ a night, this is absolutely ridiculous. Nowhere on their site does it mention construction, and we even booked over the phone with a receptionist and they never mentioned it either (if they did we would've stayed elsewhere). This is really disappointing and we will not be staying here again. We are leaving a day early because of how horrible the stay is. read more

I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott on a business trip. The staff was incredibly accommodating and it was an overall enjoyable experience. Upon walking into the hotel the front desk agent greeted me with a warm smile. She confirmed my reservation details with me and it turns out my assistant booked me into the wrong room type. I conveyed this to the front desk and she immediately changed my room type. The market which sits right next to the front desk had many wonderful options for refreshments and light food. If you are looking for restaurants in the area there are many choices that are close by and the front desk agent was very knowledgeable and helpful with informing me of my options. There is an indoor pool and fitness center which were both treats. I prefer to exercise in a gym and they have a membership for all guests at the Point Athletic Club right down the street, very impressive! The rooms at the hotel are very warm and cozy and I LOVE the Marriott bedding. I slept so well each night I was there. It is also very convenient that they have complimentary high speed internet so I could stay on top of my work. The breakfast buffet had many choices and I was overall impressed with the breakfast as well. My stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Golden was stellar and I will recommend this hotel to anyone coming into the Golden area. I will definitely be staying there again when I am in the area. read more

Pictures online hugely misleading and clearly are NOT recent photos. The building is old and maintenance is poor. Staff is extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. Rooms are overpriced and its amenities are somewhat of joke. Needless to say, I would not recommend staying here at all. read more
