Look how quaint! So festive for December!

Truly what a joy- flew up for 3 nights at JMH and could not have loved it more. We stayed in the Boxelder room downstairs which is the closest to the outdoor hot tub (didn't use but still neat). The decor was so perfect-like modern southwestern rustic, not sure but I made notes for my own home. Bed comfy, shower hot, fire place inside the room a dream. In the room there is a mini fridge and water kettle, but just outside the room there is a sitting area and mini kitchenette with a microwave. There are a number of loungey gathering areas at the house, I think it would be perfect for a chill girls' weekend where you book out a few rooms. Everything was exactly as shown on the website and while we never met the owners in person, they were so accommodating with quick communication through text. Checking in and out was smooth. You will need to be ok with a flight of stairs to get in the front (and then down to the room if that's what you choose). The driveway is steep but the hosts put gravel on it if icy and our all wheel drive sedan did not have an issue. We spent one of our days at Breckenridge Nordic Center (loved) about an hour drive away. Don't sleep on their food offerings at JMH- we ordered a charcuterie board and wine to greet us at check in and a hikers pack lunch which we brought and ate on a break from skiing in Breck. So yummy-- The owners also put together a local recommendations manual and their recs for coffee and food in Evergreen were spot on. We would definitely choose JMH again!

Juniper Mountain House in Evergreen is a special place. It's a boutique hotel in the style of a modern day bed and breakfast (sans the breakfast). The house is cozy, remote, and filled with spectacular vibes, courtesy of owners Alea and Ashley, who treat their guests like family. I booked a weekend staycation for my lady's birthday present back in November. Little did she know that I planned to propose to her here. On Friday night, I popped the question on the snowy, outdoor deck by the fire. It was perfect. She said yes, obviously! For that reason alone, Juniper Mountain House will always hold a special place in our hearts. However, let me touch on more specifics regarding the house. First things first, book online via their website if you can. You can also find them on Airbnb and other booking platforms. There are five rooms to choose from, we stayed in the Evergreen Room downstairs that has a beautiful view of the mountains. It's also worth noting that it was only a 30 minute drive from Denver! You arrive by driving up a lengthy driveway and starstruck by the most picturesque mountain home. We were greeted instantly by Alea, as she gave us the rundown and tour of the property with the house dog, Denali. Oh, they even have a hiking trail on site that leads to their wedding venue known as The Meadow. Yeah, this place is pretty damn dreamy. There are two common areas inside the house that are perfect for relaxing. Choose your adventure here by going on a hike, jumping in the hot tub, playing pool, sitting by the outdoor fire pit, or getting to know the other guests staying on site. Like any outstanding business, the people behind the scenes make it special. Ashley and Alea were a joy to talk to, so much so that they brought out a bottle of champagne when they heard about our engagement! Little touches like these, in addition to how they've thought about every minute detail of the house to make it functional and fashionable, made our stay absolutely perfect. I don't like to throw around that P word too often, but I can't think of a more perfect word to describe our experience here. Damnit, I used it again... Locals and travelers, Juniper Mountain House is a MUST.

I came into town for a concert at Red Rocks, and this location was perfect! Only about 15 minutes away, and I felt like I was in a haven of my own while I was at Juniper Mountain House. The home's hosts are incredible and really made me feel comfortable. The views were stunning; the location was perfect; everything in the home was wonderful... definitely want to come back! Highly recommend.

Juniper Mountain House may be my favorite place in Colorado, if not on planet earth period. If you are looking for a curated, peaceful, luxurious escape into nature, this is definitely the spot. Their guest rooms are all unique and impeccably decorated, we've stayed in almost all of them at this point, playing our own game of Juniper Bingo, and each is delightful in it's own way. Consistent among them all though are the softest sheets you've ever felt (so much so that I just bought a set for home using the very cool Shop Our Space website they provide with links to some of their most beautiful items), plush bathrobes that are intended to keep you cozy on the way to the outdoor hot tub, a swanky coffee and tea set up, and perfect mountain views. Not only are the rooms sublime, but the common spaces are perfection. From the epic outdoor deck with heaters to keep snug in the winter, to the elevated fire pit deck where you can enjoy a S'Mores Kit they have available for purchase, to the beautiful bar/dining area with just enough self serve options, back to the hot tub nestled in the trees just on the edge of the property, we always have a hard time leaving the grounds of Juniper Mountain House. But if you want to venture out, the lovely town of Evergreen and the splendor of the Rocky Mountains is all right there. Definitely the crown jewels of Juniper Mountain House are it's owners - Alea & Ashley LaRocque - who put so much care into the space and their guests. They are always working on something, and it's fun to see the slight changes and improvements every time we visit. But more importantly, they make all of their guests feel special, taken care of, and totally pampered in their spectacular oasis in the mountains they've created. And as a dog friendly property, be sure to say hi to the queen of JMH, their sweet pup Denali!

We came into town for the Triple Bypass and the Juniper Mountain House was 10 minutes from the start line. The house is near the freeway but feels secluded - absolutely surrounded by Pines. Ashley greeted us and was so welcoming and lovely. The house is decorated in this super cool modern/lodge vibe. Not too much, not too little. They thought of every detail. They pipe this incredible music throughout the hallways and patio of the home, but you can't hear it from your room so no concerns over it being disruptive. I had never thought about doing that but it gives life to the house and creates this super chill relaxing atmosphere. The patio is where we spent the majority of our time. Playing cards, having a drink, enjoying the hot tub, drinking coffee by the fire, watching the hummingbirds at the various feeders. The rooms were comfortable and clean - and COOL in the summer. They each have individual AC units that worked perfectly. We can't wait to come back!!

Perfect intimate wedding location From start to finish the owners A&A made sure everything went smoothly even on the day of our wedding. I had forgotten my flower bouquet and Ashley went quickly to the store and grabbed fresh flowers that matched the decor! Total life saver

Wow. Cannot say enough about how cute this place is!! We stayed here a few nights after our destination wedding in Colorado and our only regret is that we were only there for the night and not longer. Not only was the communication with the property owners seamless which made for easy self check-in, but they were so friendly. We felt at home from the moment we arrived on the property. The inside is perfectly decorated. The rooms were cute and clean and the beds were comfortable. The deck/hot tub area is the real selling point. My husband and I poured ourselves a drink and spent the evening in the hot tub which was nestled in between trees. JMH provided the ultimate relaxation that we needed after a hectic (but amazing ) week. We both left saying we can't wait to come back here one day soon! Ps. They also have a self serve honor bar and s'mores kits for roasting by the fire for $5. Such a cute touch and we will definitely be taking advantage of that when we come back. Don't hesitate to stay here!

Juniper Mountain House is amazing! The owners Ashley and Alea are super welcoming and accommodating. Originally we were going to stay at their place as a hotel, when COVID hit, our wedding plans -- like many others -- had to pivot. They helped us plan a small-scale outdoor event for 29 guests. The spot was beautiful, quaint but also a comfortable place for our wedding party to stay, get ready and host our guests. Now, I couldn't imagine our wedding weekend any where else. JMH will always hold a special place in our heart! The fire pit and hot tub are a bonus! Photos: Nolan Campbell Photography

We had the honor of having our wedding at Juniper Mtn House this past weekend and I will never forget the level of hospitality Ashley, Alea and the whole team provided. It was not only absolutely gorgeous but the whole place is magical. I highly recommend staying here for a weekend or hosting your wedding here.

    A good beer and view.

We could not have enjoyed our stay more! The location was perfect and the rooms are so well done. Very hip but mountain feel. They are perfect hosts. No detail over looked. From comfy beds and pillows and the softest sheets to having nice wine available to purchase. They even offer cute S'mores packs. We enjoyed the fire pit on the deck and the view is perfect. We will be back. Wish our stay was longer.

We were looking for a "staycation" from Denver where we could bring our dogs somewhere quiet and peaceful for the 4th of July, and I'm so glad we found this gem! Ashley and Alea were so kind and responsive. It's clear they've put a lot of love into this place and they've very much made it feel like a home away from home. They were also super welcoming to our fur babies who also made it clear they felt at home too ;) While only 25 min outside of Denver, you feel like you're much farther. We look forward to returning!

The other problem is that we failed to bring snacks and then realized we were hungry at 11 pm. They didn't even have an olive bar, I could not believe it. Ridiculous. You see that mini fridge? If I were smarter, I could have had so many snacks in there. Instead, I insisted we try to walk and find something down the street, because this is Colorado and at the very least there is some bar food nearby within walking distance. Not at 11 pm. Nothing open, no one on the streets maybe some mountain lions, at least the bears were hibernating. We ate lunch at the restaurant down the street recommended by the front desk. Murphys closes at 9 pm. Delicious, I owe them a five star review. Ordered conservatively for some reason, but should have had leftovers on the mind. There is a happy hour at 530 pm with beer and maybe even some food, but we were enjoying the amenities of our room too much. So, this is a public service announcement, I suggest you bring food if your dietary needs involve late night snacking. Otherwise when you realize everything is closed, you'll wish you said you wanted breakfast at 8 am instead of 10 am and then your boyfriend will be unable to wait, has to go down the street and then you have four breakfasts by then. I'm not a high maintenance princess type so I do not expect a robe. I definitely don't expect it to be that soft. Since it had to be that soft, I got the idea there were supposed to be matching slippers hiding somewhere. I never found them. We plan to return in the near future, and bring some snacks and slippers. I'll tell you how that goes.

Not only was the accusation completely absurd (my husband and I have absolutely NO use for a hotel luggage bench, let alone any reason to take one), but the staff refused to consider that housekeeping may have made a mistake in their inventory and instead spoke to us as if we were criminals. Being falsely accused of stealing is insulting enough. Charging a guest hundreds of dollars based on an assumption, while refusing to conduct a proper investigation or even look at hotel camera footage, is completely unacceptable. If this is how they treat guests, I'd think twice before staying here.

This isn't a super nice or updated space, but we had everything we needed for our mixed bag of early 30s friends. My friends and I stayed in the Stone St. cottage, which is heavily Grateful Dead/psychedelic/ classic rock themed. The room is listed as sleeping 3, which we did on night one, but easily slept 4 on night 2. The grounds were so charming and eclectic. The cottage we were in was a little wonky and slanted on the floor, but the rooms were clean, the shower worked great and we had more than what we needed. We checked in super late in the darkness so we didn't get to experience a normal front desk check in, which I'm sure would brief us on procedures like pre-ordering breakfast the night before, but the staff was so accommodating when we showed up hungry and ordered bacon, eggs and potatoes in the AM. Mary was the cook and she was rad, quick witted and whipped up a lovely home cooked breakfast. There are 2 dogs (that we met) on site names Shokti (gorg white husky queen) and Mr. Dog (precious, hilarious chihuahua businessman) and we loved to pet and visit with them while in the main lodge. That space is incredible: kitschy, eclectic, trippy and warm, just like our whole stay! I could go on forever about how adult-summer-camp-esque the grounds were! Every cottage is themed, though we only entered ours. The covered hot tub was a crucial touch for our group in the crisp 50 degree weather to take a morning dip and unwind after the show. I'm unsure if all cottages come with hot tubs so definitely confirm if that's something you're interested in. The walkability to all the necessities and some breweries/ eateries was appealing when we had time to kill. Cliff House offers a shuttle to and from Red Rocks for a fixed price per rider. The shuttle to the venue leaves 15 minutes prior to doors which was a little late for us, so we opted to take the shuttle back and it was a highlight of the trip. Brook's organized the shuttle, sent us incredibly detailed instructions on where/ how to find her in a short, yellow school bus. I especially appreciate the details because we had been drinking etc and needed the depth of care taken to make sure we found her! The bus was stocked with beverages and we played music and just bopped down the hill, laughing our butts off. This was such a fun stay for us and it was thanks to the grounds, location, home cooked breakfast and tea in the lodge, Mary, Brooks, Shokti and Mr. Dog. I will recommend to anyone I know traveling that way!
