Very nice hotel near a beautiful lake. We stayed one night of 7-3 to 7-4 due to the I-70 west being closed for a fatal traffic accident on our way back to CA. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful during the entire stay. I do not remember the two ladies up front but they were very professional. We got a room on the 3rd floor with a view of the lake. The first thing we noticed was the AC unit not working. It was 74 in the room and maybe mid 80's outside. The hallway was colder than our room. We turned the air down but it did not seem to blow out very well. We left for an hour to swim, and returned hoping it had cooled which it had not. We informed the front desk who immediately came up and checked. They called maintenance who said it was fine but would bring us a box fan to help, and he suggested we leave for a bit to get food and allow it to cool. We returned after an 1 1/2 and it was still 74 in the room. We again informed staff who apologized but said they did have rooms due to the crash. We figured we deal with it as we were leaving before 5am the next day. About 30min later they called and found us a room on the 1st floor which was at 67degrees. We moved our belongings and got a somewhat restful sleep. The beds are ok and so are the rooms. It's not a $$ hotel so for the price is was great, clean and well kept. Unfortunately when we arrived home two days later, I found I had cash taken out of one of my bags which were in sealed envelopes. Although I cannot say it was stolen here, do not recall missing the money before we stayed. Pros: Clean rooms, friendly staff, pool is nice and refreshing, brewery next door and AC worked in 2nd room, beds were good. Cons: AC didn't work in room 321 Possible theft from room read more

This Microtel could have it all. They have a great location in Georgetown right next to the lake and just off i-5. Their staff and rooms are actually really upscale for Microtel standards. The beds are comfortable to sleep in. They have lots of parking. My main complaint is the breakfast. It is ridiculously rubbish. Just some eggs and toast, really! Nothing nutritious or filling. Breakfasts used to be something I looked forward to, even at chain motels. The pandemic was given as a reason to take these away. It has been 4 years though! You have to do better!! Amazing Staff! The Front Dest staff in the evening was beyond helpful (Kari and Jade), the night staff, and the morning staff and breakfast host were all so kind, helpful, and practiced hospitality! Love the positive attitudes and genuine hospitality. The hotel has a great location right off I-70 in the historic town of Georgetown. Easy to walk all over town and the lake behind the hotel. Hiking nearby, lots of restaurants, shopping, attractions, etc. I live in Denver but whenever I need a getaway to Georgetown or a stop along I-70 I will stay here! Fantastic Staff!!!!! Also, if you want to ski Loveland or do hikes in the summer on the East side of the Divide this is a great hotel instead of staying on the other side of Eisenhower Tunnel. read more

This is the second time I've stayed in this hotel and I have to say I really enjoyed my stay. We are a family on a budget, and I feel like I hit the jackpot. The hotel is clean, offers a complimentary breakfast, has a indoor pool/hot tub, and is located right in the middle of the city and the ski resorts. We had half of our group exploring Denver and half exploring the resorts so the location was perfect. There is a brewery right behind the hotel that's pretty good and has a delicious sour beer. The scenery around it is gorgeous. Looking forward to staying here again read more

Was so excited to stay at this hotel, because of its location. They also state they are dog friendly. Upon checking in I stood in line waiting and was ignored and another man was welcomed in. The attendant was unaware that I was waiting. Upon checking in was informed that dogs were $40 each. We were traveling with two dogs. As we walked to our room heard a dog barking excessively across from our room. Didn't bother us because it's a hotel that is dog friendly. We went to the restaurant next door for an hour and left the dogs. When returning back to the hotel the attendant/manager rushed to follow us to our room to inform us that our dogs were barking except and that if it continued she would ask us to leave. It was 10pm, and we returned to our room and at every sound our dogs barked. We were afraid that we would be kicked out in the middle of the night and didn't want to be charged $250 for our dogs barking. We decided that it would be best that we leave. I approached the desk while my partner sat down away from the desk. I informed the representative that informed me that I would be kicked out from the hotel that I was leaving due to the circumstances. She said well it's your choice to leave. I informed her that it wasn't, that she basically had threaten us to leave. I asked her if my fee could be waived since we had only stayed a few hours. She was not sympathetic at all and started to raise her voice. I told her that it wasn't fair, she stated how her dog doesn't bark and was on premises. Then the other concierge also said my dogs doesn't bark at all. I didn't understand the need to inform me that their dogs don't bark. I asked for the managers name and they refused to give it to me. Another man came out and started shouting at me and said that he was going to call the sheriff on me because I was being aggressive. I was just speaking and didn't understand how I was being aggressive. The man stares at my partner who was sitting down far away and statues that he too was being aggressive. There was no aggression there at all. Everyone was calm. He kept shouting and at that point we decided it was best to just leave. I will never return here and I'm insanely disappointed at the behavior of the people in this hotel. It was a lack of empathy and unprofessionalism. Unfortunately it is 2023 and we still have to deal with prejudices. It's truly sad. I hope that a corporate manager can contact me regarding this issue, because this issue needs to be addressed and employees need to be reprimanded for their behavior. read more

BEWARE: Do not book this hotel under any circumstances. If you decide to move ahead with the booking, fair warning: Guard your pocketbook carefully. While I waited over an hour for my room, the manager on duty tried to wrangle a whole variety of fees out of prospective customers, including a $35.00 fee to get into my room before 3:00. In one conversation, she futilely tried to explain to a calling customer why they were charged a fee for checking out a few minutes late. Pet owners are also subject to fees, according to one Yelp review, deceptively. All that's fine. A business can do what they choose (and pay the price long term if customers don't like it) though in all my years of travel, I have never been charged a fee to enter my room early. Wait, yes. But never a fee. In a surly, demanding style, more akin to a street thug than a check-in clerk, she told me I would have to wait until 3:00 to check in. She rudely explained that only the top tier customers are permitted to enter their rooms early. When I patiently explained that I had a Wyndham Loyalty Card (I'm a Diamond card holder, the top tier), she said, "No you are not!" The more questions I asked the more rude and impatient she became. I ask for her name or business card so I could reference her name if I followed up with her superior or posted reviews, but she refused to provide it, nor would she provide her supervisor's name. So when 3:00 rolled around, she continued her duties behind the desk rather than check me in. She didn't seem to care that I had been waiting well over an hour to get into my room. To her, this was now a power struggle, and for asking questions and seeking good customer service, I was being punished. At 3:05, I got out of my chair, hoping she would take the hint and check me into my room. I had three nights booked. When she failed to respond, I pulled out my Diamond Card (a member since 2011) and said, I just want you to know that your surly, ill-mannered attitude has been committed against one of your top customers (by definition). She said, you can't be a Wyndham member. You booked through a third party. Why did you do that? By then, I'd had about enough of this power hungry, angry woman, so I said, "That's none of your business. Just check me into my room. I've waited long enough." With that, she apparently lost her composure, slamming a "We can refuse service to anyone," sign on the wall, and telling me to get out, that my three night reservation had been cancelled. What does that tell us, when a manager has a special sign crafted and printed up and the hotel has only been open for a short time? Among other things, it tells me that such poor customer service has been all too common. Do you wish to spend your hard earned money with such a company? Me neither. I wish the young lady well. Having worked for a household name firm and repeated winner of the J.D. Powers and Associates award, I even attempted to share some of the customer service fundamentsls she so lacked: 1. Greet every customer with a smile and good attitude. 2. Listen. 3. NEVER interrupt 4. If you disagree with something a customer says, acknowledge their point, and frame your contrary information as favorably as possible. 5. Don't forget good manners. Remember please and thank you. For example, "Sir, I understand you to say that you are a member of our loyalty program. I'd be happy to verify that because one of the Diamond perks is early check-in. Maybe we can get you in your room early after all!" As contrasted with what she actually said. "That's our policy and the company is privately owned, not owned by Wyndham, and we can do what we want!" Good employees are hard to find, especially now. I can understand that in the haste of staffing a new hotel that one might not scrutinize hiring decisions as carefully as they should. Still, when one realizes the damage one poor hire can create in the thousands of interactions they have with customers, great care really should be given to those hiring decisions. Further, if you can't hire well, train well! It's clear that this young lady won't be in her position long without some remedial training. As customer focused as the hospitality industry is, she simply won't last. I do believe the young lady is bright and has great potential, if she will constructicely embrace guidance from those with more wisdom and knowledge than herself. May she find redemption in her career down the sometimes rough road of humility, because as I've said for many years, arrogant ignorance is surely one of the ugliest things in the world. Truly pathetic service. We requested a late check out to 12 because we were very tired from a long day of travel. The receptionist granted our request the night before. In the morning we received a call saying we had to check out at 11:30 or else we would be charged extra because apparently it wasn't "confirmed". The woman on the phone was extremely rude and made it sound like this was our fault. Extremely petty thing to do over 30 minutes of a checkout (which also gave us no time to shower as we had planned for a noon checkout the night before), and will never be staying in one of these hotels again. read more

This is the worst hotel and service I've ever experienced. I waited 1.5 hours for my room. The have NO flexibility. They put me in an awful room right on the parking lot with highway noise so loud I barley got any sleep. They said they would waive they pet fee, but they an built $50 into the price. We needed a place to stay close to Mt Bierstadt - this place was perfect. It's very clean with modern amenities and pool and hot tub looked lovely (although we were only there for a short time and did not partake). We left too early for breakfast but had access to coffee and hot water to make our own. Saw this was a two star hotel so wasn't expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean. The front desk staff were super friendly. The complementary breakfast had plenty options. The town is very cute with a lakes/ponds and Mountain View's. We didn't get to try it but there is a cute brewery right next door,too! This is a great, clean hotel in a great location. It's close to hiking, mount Bierstadt, etc. Good restaurants near by. The room is modern, shower without a tub, window seat, tv, refrigerator and microwave. Pool is on the small side but appeared clean. Hot tub looked maintained as well. Pool towels had to picked up at the front desk which was a little annoying. The hotel is by the highway and also by Georgetown Lake. Loved the 2 mi walk around both likes on the trail. Other trails are connected within. Many people fishing there as well. The highway noise didn't bother us. The loud air conditioner did. It was so loud! Sounded like an airplane taking off and landing. Woke me up all night. The highway noise would be too loud with the windows open. Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh fruit, hot coffee, granola bars, waffles, omelettes to heat up, muffins and bagels. Nice room to eat in, too. The breakfast was restocked and was very nice. The fresh ice water was a nice touch, too. Ice machines on the bottom and top floors are a little annoying if you are placed on the 2nd floor. Overall, the place was quiet. We didn't hear voices so much. But, we could hear steps above us at all hours. The stomping would wake up at 4 am and keep us awake at 12 pm. Highly recommend ear plugs. Nice brewery next door offers average food and there is a local pizza place near by we liked too. We had on a couple complaints, but overall a very nice stay. Hotel employees appeared friendly. Very clean! Friendly staff! Kept running out of food and coffee. Not prepared at all for breakfast or being busy with check ins. Everyone had to stand in line at the doors while it was pouring down because they wouldn't check anyone in before three, even though we saw a few that got checked in early. Our air conditioner quit working and they couldn't reimburse us anything except $20 because I booked through booking.com. Then they offer a discount if you book a train ride at Georgetown Loop, but we couldn't get that either because we booked through booking.com! read more

We stayed at this hotel on 6/16/23 on the way across the country. We were pleased that it was located right off the highway and yet was a quiet, lovely lake location. When we arrived we were greeted at the front desk by Sorola. He couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! Not only did he make the check-in process efficient, but he went the extra mile. We were exhausted from a long day of driving, and he helped us find a restaurant nearby and told us about nearby hiking paths. He even made a fresh pot of coffee so that I could warm up with a hot beverage. We couldn't have asked for better customer service! The room was also very nice. It was clean, comfortable and had a lovely view of the lake. The pillows were terrible but that's not a huge deal. Overall, we felt that the price we paid for the room and the great customer service, made this one of the nicest stops on our trip. read more

The Hotel is deteriorating by the day....Lobby area is dirty. The ad for one night said $119/night but did not mention a $57.00 "Service Fee"... totaling $177.00 for one night.... Pet Friendly... barking dogs allowed...This place is not worth the money...Bathroom towels are old and scratchy. Shower facility in our room was missing grout and had cracked tiles. We stayed at this hotel for two nights. It's right off the highway so easy to access. The staff was really friendly; I've never seen a hotel that had someone at the desk every single time I passed. They were always there and greeted us with a smile and hello. The hotel was very clean. Our room had a cute cushioned bench by the window. We had a view of the highway/mountain. The hotel is right on a pretty lake. We felt really safe staying there. Nothing fancy but it's a good deal for $100/night. read more

When I checked out, I inadvertently left my phone charger plugged into th outlet beside the bed. When I called the evening after checking out, I was told nothing was turned in by the cleaning crew. Absolutely terrible management and hospitality!! we booked a king suite and got 2 double beds in a tiny space on first floor. The floor was SO dirty with a spilled bag of popcorn, half eaten tennis ball by a dog, a sock, and other debris. They refused doing anything including coming to see it. Dog in the adjacent room was yipping loudly and we knocked on the door only to find the room was occupied Only by the dog. Front desk could hear it and called the room. With no answer they made excuses (obviously a friend of theirs) then lied to the manager about it blaming us! Kids are running this hotel! We are extensive travelers and seniors. we are Diamond with Hilton, Platinum with IHG. We have never been treated so rudely! They also added on to our original charge because we complained. Hotel is clean and relatively new. Most of staff are polite. I observed one employee berating a woman and her child for some supposed infraction. He was incredibly rude. the website claims that it is a pet friendly hotel without any caveats regarding rooms. i booked my room in advance and left a note regarding my pet and at no point did they inform me that they altered my reservation without permission. i found out when i walked into the room. which was coincidentally the most expensive room that they could move me to on the floor that accepts pets (we only required one bed and only booked a room with one bed, we were moved to one with two, again, without clarification or warning). after the confusion, the apparent manager on duty informed me that she would alter the rate and follow up with me.. so, i spent an hour of our getaway waiting in my room for a phone call that never came. had i known my selected room did not allow pets (which could easily be clarified on the website as apparently none of the queen suites are pet friendly), i would have booked different accommodations. given my knowledge of deceptive trade practice laws i intend to follow up. read more
