    Breakfast Flatbread
    Andrew I.

Comfy rooms, great service, cozy environment. Loved the fire pit! The breakfast was a bit expensive but surprisingly delicious, we had the breakfast flatbread and burrito. We also had a few drinks during the night. The Black Cherry Old Fashioned was decent but they were out of cherries, which was a shame. Our only gripe with the room was that the pull-out couch bed was very uncomfortable and we had to make the bed ourself, it was just a mattress. We will likely stay here again next time we go to the New York Renaissance Faire, as it's close and affordable with no big flaws!

In the ice bucket from the previous person yuckkkkkkk!!

Need a place to spend the night, before the long drive back home. The room seemed clean on first walk in, however I found old food from the previous guest, i also found an e-cigarette in the bathroom, which let me know it was cleaned properly. I would not be returning because of those two things.

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights for my cousin's wedding. My cousin blocked some rooms and we were able to get a pretty significant discount. A room in this 3 star hotel runs around $200 a night regularly, but we were able to get it for $109 a night, excluding taxes. I'm glad we only paid that much. That rate doesn't include breakfast, and while we were able to get free wifi (pretty good strength), I don't think it's worth it to stay here for $200 a night. The room was pretty spacious with a nice comfortable couch that can serve as a bed for a child and the bathroom was a good size, but our king bed was a tad springy. I prefer a mattress that's firmer. And if you use a hair dryer, bring your own. The one we had in the room was pretty old and useless. It'll take you a long time to dry your hair and forget about styling your hair. That was a bummer since I wanted to make my hair look nice for the wedding. I have a hard time falling asleep at night if it's not quiet. I don't have the talent of falling asleep anywhere (I wish I did), so it's hard staying in a hotel where the walls are not well insulated. I could hear the TV and mumbling coming from the room next to us. You can definitely hear noise from the corridor as well. This is a deal breaker for me. I would rather stay in a hotel that has better sound insulation, and this is why I wouldn't want to stay in this hotel again. I can just imagine how much noisier it'll be in the summer with kids running around and yelling. Yikes. Another issue we had was that our room wasn't serviced much by the housekeeper when we were gone all day for wedding festivities. The toiletries were replenished and our bed covers were fixed, but that was it. My cousin had breakfast set up for wedding guests on Sunday morning in the lobby and though the fruit, granola and other cold breakfast items were good, the hot breakfast is your typical hotel buffet breakfast--overdone scrambled eggs and overly salty bacon and sausage. Stick with the cold breakfast. We live in California, so I don't think we'll be back in Mahwah, NJ anytime soon. This hotel is okay, but if you want quiet and a firmer bed, look elsewhere.

Outside of your room, expect maintenance tape or similar on anything you want to use.

At first, everything seemed fine, but unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. The contract is filled with predatory clauses, which I didn't fully realize until the night of my event. What should have been a special occasion turned stressful because of one of the owners, Latoya. Around 12:30 a.m., I reached out to her and told her the rental company still had not arrived for pickup. I explained that I was calling and texting them with no answer, but she insisted "it was imperative that everything be out by 1:00 a.m. since she had another booking at 10:00 a.m".Despite my transparency, the rental company didn't arrive until 1:30 a.m., and Latoya charged me \$330 for an "extra hour." Adding to the frustration, Latoya never provided me with the keys to lock up, as stated in her own instruction message. She first claimed they were in the lockbox (not true), then in the front door (not true), when the whole time she had actually left them in a **bar drawer**. When I mentioned this issue, she completely disregarded it and kept deflecting back to the rental furniture not being picked up. On top of that, during the rush of moving everything else out by 12:50 a.m., a photo board fell off my truck. Two days later, Latoya messaged me saying she found it on the ground. Even though I had sent her a photo of the empty dumpster (visible but she called it "blurry"), she insisted she could charge me \$250, but "reduced" it to \$50for the photo board and supposedly for trash left behind. In the end, she only refunded \$120 of my \$500 deposit, keeping \$380. For the amount of money I spent, I expected professionalism, honesty, and support. Instead, I left feeling taken advantage of, nickel-and-dimed, and deeply disappointed. Latoya's lack of accountability and her treatment of me as a client were unacceptable. I will not be doing any future business with this company, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering this venue **read the fine print carefully and think twice before booking.**

Michael is the manager of events that take place at Ramsey Country Club. When we meet with him to discuss our thoughts on our wedding he informed us that his main concern was (not me) my wife. After confirming everything that we wanted, from an outside wedding to a 3-piece jazz ensemble for the cocktail hour to our course selection and wedding band, etc., etc. Michael explained that my future wife to be was his main concern. That he'll be with her from the time she gets there (early with bridesmaids & makeup, hairdresser people) he'll be the one making sure all her needs are taken care of ... from trays of food to drinks (cocktails to coffee). Even taking care of legal paperwork for the marriage, to keeping her informed of where her future husband was and the guests arriving. Michael was at my wife's beck and call. She had no worries, just enjoy the day. Till this day she still sings his praise. Making our wedding "THE BEST". When you plan an event at The Abbey you get Michael, which means you get the best. Hate to say this ... but when you pick The Abbey your getting Michael & that's what matters. You pay a premium when you choose Ramsey Country Club. I could have chosen other top venues for our wedding and paid less. But after researching all, seeing the reviews, it wasn't about the money, I wanted the BEST. I got that with Michael and Ramsey Country Club.

While I never stayed overnight back then, we often came to the bar or for special events. I will let you know about the room, the staff, the atrium, the grounds and the food served at the reunion. More and more hotels are going towards hard floors instead of carpeting. This was one of them. Everything was spotless and the bed was comfortable. There were two things that were not great. Since the room overlooked the atrium, late night groups congregated and were a bit noisy. It would have been nice if they enforced quiet hours. The other was another minor issue. I could not find the refrigerator because it was not in a logical place. There was a small kitchenette off in the corner. The refrigerator was not there, it was under the TV in the main room. Curious. Staff was very helpful but there was one error that almost caused an embarrassing situation. They assigned me to a room that was already occupied by another guest. A staff member came running up to stop me just as my room key was just inches from the door lock.. Expansive and central to the hotel was a beautiful atrium. It included a koi pond, a small bar, fountains, a floral wall and many, many seating areas for parties or receptions. It was noisy. The weekend of our HS reunion, staff mentioned how crazy busy they were. On my arrival there were two wedding receptions in full swing. I was tempted to, but did not pick up a plate and walk through one of the buffet areas. Weather could not have been any better for an outdoor stroll. Gardens, a fountain, lawns, and pavilions were all around the grounds. All were so beautiful I took many photos. There was one large sculpture in one of the yards. People congregated on lawns, playing outdoor games and enjoying the quiet, even though the NY State Thruway was just beyond the tree line. At the reunion, there was a nice buffet. Instead of sampling all the dishes, I opted for chicken, salmon and some rice. Chicken and salmon were nicely seasoned and moist. Coupled with the rice, the meal had a nice mouth feel and flavor. When I finished my plate, I wanted to see what dessert they had. There was none, but then again, I left early because I was tired. They probably brought those out again. However, I actually did get to taste a dessert morsel. Flashback to my thoughts about crashing the buffet line at the wedding reception. Deception was not on my mind, but as I was passing by a dessert buffet, I commented to a young lady that the ice cream bar looked good. The server immediately offered me a bowl. I made it clear that I was not with the party. He said he did not care. So I picked up a petite-fours. It was very good. Overall, the stay was a nice experience. The room was clean, the staff helpful, the atrium and grounds beautiful, and the food was very good especially for buffet service. While I may never get back to the part of the country, if I do I will stay here again, but ask for a room on the far side, away from the atrium noise.

I've accumulated points, chosen IHG over competitors, and considered myself a loyal customer. After this experience, I am done and I mean that. During a family vacation in NJ and NY, my wife discovered the in-room phone wasn't working, leaving her no way to reach anyone for guest or room services. She went to the front desk for help. A staff member named Sharon told her to go talk to the bartender and said she had no other way to help. That alone was bad enough. But what made it truly unacceptable was how Sharon treated my wife during that conversation. She raised her voice. She rolled her eyes. She spoke in a condescending, belittling tone, all over a minor miscommunication about whether my wife said "room service" or "guest/room service." A guest should never, under any circumstance, be spoken to that way by a front desk professional. Later that evening, I asked to speak with the front desk manager on the spot. Sharon told me her manager was not available and that she had no idea when her manager would be in for the rest of the week. In other words, there was no escalation path offered whatsoever. I followed up with a formal written complaint to hotel management. I also contacted IHG corporate directly. I received zero response. Not an acknowledgment. Not an apology. Nothing. That silence tells me everything I need to know about how IHG values its loyal members. I have accumulated IHG points over many years of faithful stays. I now regret that loyalty and am prepared to forfeit every single point rather than give this brand another dollar of my business. I will not return to this property. I will not stay at another IHG hotel. If you are an IHG member reading this know that your loyalty may not mean what you think it does when it actually matters. Avoid this hotel. Avoid the IHG brand.
