    Sunday brunching
    Nick C.

I recently lost a bet with my good friend, Ivan P., so as his reward, we went to The Views at Mount Fuji for Sunday brunch. Harry P. and Jabriel J. completed our table. It had been years since my last visit to Mount Fuji. Growing up, I attended many events at the The Views at Mount Fuji. I remember the food being awesome, and a nice woman who was working during every event named Nancy, who gave me cocktail umbrellas as a kid. The architecture and layout of the building and koi pond is very Japanese. The hibachi restaurant upstairs was in the middle of a renovation at the time of our visit, but the area serving brunch was the same as ever. The views of the mountains from the gigantic bay windows are quite nice. For the relatively low price of $29 per person, the Sunday brunch is great. There was a large array of breakfast items, with some heavier lunch options. Their was an omelette bar, sushi boats, a salad bar, baked goods, cold seafood bar, and a carving station. I was expecting that my childhood memories would be let down by the food, but fortunately they were not. The sushi quality was much better than I would have expected from a buffet, and the food from the chaffing dishes was almost as good as I remembered, although I would skip on the alfredo and demi glazed beef. The seafood items were my favorite, by far. I greatly enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, mussels in fennel, and the lox. I thought the lox was surprisingly good, and it was confirmed by Harry P., my Jewish authority on lox. Ivan P. happily ate a ton of salmon sushi, lox, and salmon teriyaki. I was amused that dolmades were available at the salad bar. The carving station featured roast beef and suckling pig. To the amusement of my Filipino self, they had a bottle of Mang Tomas All Purpose Sauce right next to the pig. The guy at the carving station didn't understand me when I asked him for a rarer piece of beef, so I ended up with a pretty dry, well done piece. The majority of the desserts I tried were mediocre, including the red velvet cake and tiramisu cake. We all agreed that the coffee was bad. But as Jabriel J. pointed out, the quality of their soft serve ice cream was very good. Service was pretty good, our waitress took forever to bring our mimosas, but our water/coffee was kept filled and our plates taken quickly.

Perfection!!! I am a Japanese American, born in downtown Tokyo. I'm really picky when it comes to Japanese food in the states, and this place knocked it out of the park when we held our baby shower here. They certainly have a lot of fusion dishes that are westernized, and most importantly, they have revamped their dishes to also serve excellent Japanese dishes that would satisfy many snobby Japanese foodies. They have 3 areas, the hibachi section, modernized lounge area, and the large ballrooms with the largest windows I've ever seen so guests can have an amazing view. We had a baby shower. The venue was so nice it looked like a wedding! All staffs are extremely kind, helpful, and very thoughtful. All guests loved the place and are instagramming like there's no tomorrow. Highly reccomend this place! Ps: try Yoshis Happy Drink

THIS LISTING IS FOR THE BANQUET FACILITY NOT THE HIBACHI RESTAURANT Excellent Food Formal Service Spectacular Grounds And Views Courteous Professional Management "The Fujita family, management and staff of Mt. Fuji Restaurants welcome you to The Views at Mt. Fuji. Set upon sixty secluded acres and perched high atop a private mountain with breathtaking views of the Ramapo Valley, The Views offers a fabulous setting for Sunday Brunch, a dramatic backdrop to our Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Shows, a spectacular choice for Weddings and Social Occasions." "Our service is impeccable, our attention to detail meticulous and our commitment to excellence - legendary. We look forward to welcoming you to The Views and invite you to contact us for personal assistance." Having been a customer of the Hibachi Restaurant upstairs for many years Nancy Fujita invited us to the Sunday Brunch at the Views which is located a floor below the Hibachi Restaurant on the beautiful grounds of this 60 acre mountain top restaurant. Motel on the Mountain is the former site of the Mt Fuji Steak House, this Rockland County landmark has a rich history dating back to 1957 where famous architect Junzo Yoshimura designed the impressively styled dining room. The buildings and grounds are meticulously maintained and upgraded with a Japanese theme. Sunday Brunch Served 11:30 am - 3:00 pm Last Seating 2:00 pm. The brunch is presented banquet style in a very elegant atmosphere, many of the white linen covered tables offer a great view of the valley below. After being warmly greeted we were shown to our table located in center of the the glass lined exterior wall, what a nice setting for brunch! Our server arrived immediately to offer us a complimentary champagne, mimosa or orange juice and explained that in addition the coffee and tea was unlimited. The banquet offerings are quite diverse and include: Omelette's: Made Fresh To Order Fresh Baked Goods Seasonal Fruits And Vegetables Cold Seafood Bar Salads: Over Twelve Types Assorted Freshly Prepared Sushi Chaffing Trays With At Least Twenty Offerings (Dishes Vary) Carving Stations: Nice Selection Of Quality Meats Shrimp And Vegetable Tempura Assorted Delicious Deserts From Palermos Bakery Everything I had was delicious and the trays were attended to by staff so the food was fresh and in abundance, you simply cant go wrong here for $27.00! Reservations are a good idea at times there is a wait for walk In's. Highly Recommended!

    Dinner time Hibachi style!
    Sammie M.

Very nice place to have a good hibachi dinner. I ordered a few sushi rolls and hibachi as well as a few soups. The service is good (although they forgot to bring my edamame) and food is good as well. They could definitely use a little more attention to the bathrooms and a freshen up for the general interior restaurant as they haven't done any work on it for many years. If your a fan of hibachi and sushi, drop by this venue for a bite with a view.

Our wedding was held on March 31,2018 at the Views of Mt. fuji. This is absolutely a beautiful venue and it was tremendously an amazing experience from the first meeting in planning our wedding with Patrick Kelly and for the actual day. The weather was kind to us that since it just snowed a few days prior which we were able to have a marvelous ceremony outside with spectacular views. Majority wedding venues or carters serve bland entrees from my experience of the weddings I attended , but this isn't the case at The Views of Mt Fuji. Our original venue was suppose to be held in Puerto Rico , but due to Hurricane Maria we had to start over with the whole planning process. Just imagine the stress of detail planning, booking the venue and all the vendors then having to start all over. Our first meeting with Patrick Kelly he stated "Here at Mt Fuji you will never hear the word No,but how we could make it happen." That was actually the honest truth, the constant communication and extremely fast response to have a prefect wedding. Patrick put our nerves at ease knowing a professional who previous directed weddings at the famous Tavern on the Green in NYC and a college professor coordinating our prefect wedding. A perfect wedding doesn't have to put you in the poor house , take out loans, or max out your credit cards since they are reasonably price and will definitely fit into your budget. If you want a perfect wedding with the least amount of stress for an amazing price this is the place. We booked our hotel block at the Marriott in Montvale which provided free shuttle service to this venue which majority of our guests took advantage since they didn't have to worry about driving and enjoy a perfect wedding. No wedding is perfect of course , but Patrick Kelly will make this happen. Thank God we decided to book with the Views of Mt Fuji.

All set up for our reception!

At first, everything seemed fine, but unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. The contract is filled with predatory clauses, which I didn't fully realize until the night of my event. What should have been a special occasion turned stressful because of one of the owners, Latoya. Around 12:30 a.m., I reached out to her and told her the rental company still had not arrived for pickup. I explained that I was calling and texting them with no answer, but she insisted "it was imperative that everything be out by 1:00 a.m. since she had another booking at 10:00 a.m".Despite my transparency, the rental company didn't arrive until 1:30 a.m., and Latoya charged me \$330 for an "extra hour." Adding to the frustration, Latoya never provided me with the keys to lock up, as stated in her own instruction message. She first claimed they were in the lockbox (not true), then in the front door (not true), when the whole time she had actually left them in a **bar drawer**. When I mentioned this issue, she completely disregarded it and kept deflecting back to the rental furniture not being picked up. On top of that, during the rush of moving everything else out by 12:50 a.m., a photo board fell off my truck. Two days later, Latoya messaged me saying she found it on the ground. Even though I had sent her a photo of the empty dumpster (visible but she called it "blurry"), she insisted she could charge me \$250, but "reduced" it to \$50for the photo board and supposedly for trash left behind. In the end, she only refunded \$120 of my \$500 deposit, keeping \$380. For the amount of money I spent, I expected professionalism, honesty, and support. Instead, I left feeling taken advantage of, nickel-and-dimed, and deeply disappointed. Latoya's lack of accountability and her treatment of me as a client were unacceptable. I will not be doing any future business with this company, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering this venue **read the fine print carefully and think twice before booking.**

Michael is the manager of events that take place at Ramsey Country Club. When we meet with him to discuss our thoughts on our wedding he informed us that his main concern was (not me) my wife. After confirming everything that we wanted, from an outside wedding to a 3-piece jazz ensemble for the cocktail hour to our course selection and wedding band, etc., etc. Michael explained that my future wife to be was his main concern. That he'll be with her from the time she gets there (early with bridesmaids & makeup, hairdresser people) he'll be the one making sure all her needs are taken care of ... from trays of food to drinks (cocktails to coffee). Even taking care of legal paperwork for the marriage, to keeping her informed of where her future husband was and the guests arriving. Michael was at my wife's beck and call. She had no worries, just enjoy the day. Till this day she still sings his praise. Making our wedding "THE BEST". When you plan an event at The Abbey you get Michael, which means you get the best. Hate to say this ... but when you pick The Abbey your getting Michael & that's what matters. You pay a premium when you choose Ramsey Country Club. I could have chosen other top venues for our wedding and paid less. But after researching all, seeing the reviews, it wasn't about the money, I wanted the BEST. I got that with Michael and Ramsey Country Club.

While I never stayed overnight back then, we often came to the bar or for special events. I will let you know about the room, the staff, the atrium, the grounds and the food served at the reunion. More and more hotels are going towards hard floors instead of carpeting. This was one of them. Everything was spotless and the bed was comfortable. There were two things that were not great. Since the room overlooked the atrium, late night groups congregated and were a bit noisy. It would have been nice if they enforced quiet hours. The other was another minor issue. I could not find the refrigerator because it was not in a logical place. There was a small kitchenette off in the corner. The refrigerator was not there, it was under the TV in the main room. Curious. Staff was very helpful but there was one error that almost caused an embarrassing situation. They assigned me to a room that was already occupied by another guest. A staff member came running up to stop me just as my room key was just inches from the door lock.. Expansive and central to the hotel was a beautiful atrium. It included a koi pond, a small bar, fountains, a floral wall and many, many seating areas for parties or receptions. It was noisy. The weekend of our HS reunion, staff mentioned how crazy busy they were. On my arrival there were two wedding receptions in full swing. I was tempted to, but did not pick up a plate and walk through one of the buffet areas. Weather could not have been any better for an outdoor stroll. Gardens, a fountain, lawns, and pavilions were all around the grounds. All were so beautiful I took many photos. There was one large sculpture in one of the yards. People congregated on lawns, playing outdoor games and enjoying the quiet, even though the NY State Thruway was just beyond the tree line. At the reunion, there was a nice buffet. Instead of sampling all the dishes, I opted for chicken, salmon and some rice. Chicken and salmon were nicely seasoned and moist. Coupled with the rice, the meal had a nice mouth feel and flavor. When I finished my plate, I wanted to see what dessert they had. There was none, but then again, I left early because I was tired. They probably brought those out again. However, I actually did get to taste a dessert morsel. Flashback to my thoughts about crashing the buffet line at the wedding reception. Deception was not on my mind, but as I was passing by a dessert buffet, I commented to a young lady that the ice cream bar looked good. The server immediately offered me a bowl. I made it clear that I was not with the party. He said he did not care. So I picked up a petite-fours. It was very good. Overall, the stay was a nice experience. The room was clean, the staff helpful, the atrium and grounds beautiful, and the food was very good especially for buffet service. While I may never get back to the part of the country, if I do I will stay here again, but ask for a room on the far side, away from the atrium noise.

I've accumulated points, chosen IHG over competitors, and considered myself a loyal customer. After this experience, I am done and I mean that. During a family vacation in NJ and NY, my wife discovered the in-room phone wasn't working, leaving her no way to reach anyone for guest or room services. She went to the front desk for help. A staff member named Sharon told her to go talk to the bartender and said she had no other way to help. That alone was bad enough. But what made it truly unacceptable was how Sharon treated my wife during that conversation. She raised her voice. She rolled her eyes. She spoke in a condescending, belittling tone, all over a minor miscommunication about whether my wife said "room service" or "guest/room service." A guest should never, under any circumstance, be spoken to that way by a front desk professional. Later that evening, I asked to speak with the front desk manager on the spot. Sharon told me her manager was not available and that she had no idea when her manager would be in for the rest of the week. In other words, there was no escalation path offered whatsoever. I followed up with a formal written complaint to hotel management. I also contacted IHG corporate directly. I received zero response. Not an acknowledgment. Not an apology. Nothing. That silence tells me everything I need to know about how IHG values its loyal members. I have accumulated IHG points over many years of faithful stays. I now regret that loyalty and am prepared to forfeit every single point rather than give this brand another dollar of my business. I will not return to this property. I will not stay at another IHG hotel. If you are an IHG member reading this know that your loyalty may not mean what you think it does when it actually matters. Avoid this hotel. Avoid the IHG brand.

What was supposed to be a standard stay turned into a living nightmare due to a severe bed bug infestation and a complete breakdown of basic hotel management and customer service. We discovered bed bugs in our room. When we immediately contacted the front desk (around 1 AM), the nightmare really began. It took an unacceptable 27 minutes for a staff member to even show up to speak with us. To make matters worse, they refused to come up to the room to inspect the bugs and shockingly declined to even view the video evidence we had clearly captured. Their apathy was staggering. We were finally moved to a new room on the opposite side of the hotel at 7 AM. After almost no sleep, we were then woken up shortly after by loud, pervasive construction noise directly outside our new room. When I went to the front desk to complain, the manager was incredibly rude and, in a breathtaking display of dishonesty, completely denied that any construction work was happening at the hotel. Furthermore, we were unable to use the pool or gym during our entire stay as they were closed or unavailable, a detail not disclosed to us beforehand. As we were attempting to check out and leave, our exit was physically blocked. The construction crew was using the only functional exit door, making it impossible for us to leave with our luggage for some time. This is not only unacceptable service but a major safety hazard. The manager has refused to refund us for the night we spent with the bed bugs. We are longtime guests who have stayed here twice a year for years. This experience was not just "bad service"; it was a total failure. This hotel is garbage, the staff is unprofessional and rude, and the management is dishonest. We will NEVER stay at this property again and strongly advise every traveler to steer clear for their own health and safety. I have full photo and video documentation of the infestation and the construction noise to back up every word of this review.
