I have never been more disrespected in my life then I have at this Marriott location. We booked a room for Tuesday-Saturday. I knew that we were not going to be there until early Wednesday morning. I called to make sure they knew we were coming. I was reassured I would be able to get the room I booked. There was 5 of us staying so I needed a QNQN room with a pullout. We get there and they put us in a room with just the two beds. I asked if they could put us in the room I booked and I was told no. I told them to send up more beding because my son was going to have to sleep on the floor. And he did that night. We then took a nap and around 4pm I went down and talked to someone different. They said they couldn't do anything for us and that I couldn't use my employee discount on food. This irritated me so the next day when we changed rooms I talked to the AGM. They were able to move us at 9am. With them able to move us that told me they always had my room available they were just trying to sell it. I asked the AGM this and why I couldn't use my employee discount. She said she would look into it for me. I do have to say she was really nice and sweet but did not offer to reconcile the situation for me. When we returned she was able to tell me our original room that we were expose to have had a late check out and then they had to clean the carpet. I for a fact know this was a lie because we were expose to check in on Tuesday and because we were late they sold our room. Also the carpet was not cleaned because when we went into the room the floor was dirty and had random pills on it. Also after we had already checked out they charged my card an extra $20 on top of the incidental fee and could not tell me why but I was reassured the money would be back onto my card. I was highly disappointed on how I was treated at this location and this makes me think twice of staying with Marriott or sending any of my friends or family. I will also be calling corporate. read more

Stayed in this hotel during my recent visit to Myrtle Beach. Usually people stay at the beachfront, but if you want a quieter place, or if you are gonna race in the Myrtle Beach Marathon and Half Marathon like me, this hotel is excellent. Less than 0.5 mi from the start line. Friendly front desk. Guest room was spacious and newly decored. Very quiet fridge and air conditioner (at least for "low" mode). In fact, many runners seem to stayed in this hotel during the race weekend lol. The hotel is of course a bit far from the beach front, about 1.75mi but it's not too far. I will stay in this hotel again if I do the race next year. read more

Stayed here on a biz trip last night on the 4th floor end of hall. It was relatively quiet. Bed was a little stiff, but nice big room and place was clean. Good water pressure and air conditioning. Close to many places to eat and free parking. Small pool. I had a nice salad last night and a huge glass of wine. This morning I had eggs your way breakfast. Employees are nice and it's pretty quiet except for done unruly kids running the halls. All in all it's not as fancy as other Marriott's but it served its purpose. Could use some updated rooms. read more

I mean it's ok. Depends on the day, honestly. So I work in aviation and often times our company puts us here on layovers. It is by no means terrible, but it's not spectacular either. More often than not the front desk staff is super friendly and helpful. However there are times when they're just kinda rude. Like today. Bear in mind I've been staying here with my company for over 6 years. Today on checking in, the large sweaty man in sweats and crocs gave me my room key by slapping it on the counter and waving it in my face. Not a single pleasantry was exchanged. Just a slap slap wave wave with the key in my face. Sir, I understand it's hot outside and you're large and sweaty but please give me some respect. I was nothing but polite to you. His coworker offered help. His offer was ignored. We were told the airline sent over many reservations all at once and they were working on getting the keys ready. No worries, we're a laid back bunch. I couldn't help but notice however, that sweatpant croc guy was outside smoking when our shuttle arrived from the airport. I know we all need breaks but geez. Don't flap my face with a room key when you were outside in 106° heat wearing sweatpants when you could've been assigning rooms. This trip was on my work schedule over a month ago. It wasn't a last minute thing. Anyway...the hotel is pretty ok. Could use some updating. The A/C works well or not well, depending on your room. There's stray dogs around, and a glorified county fair across the street. Think gatlinburg's red headed stepchild but near water. Water is hot, rooms are clean (mostly), and it's not too far from the airport. Just hope you get lucky with the friendly front desk people. I usually do but not today. The pictures can be deceiving because the outside of the hotel does not look the same once you get here in person. I am giving it 3 stars because I kind of knew what to expect but decided to give it a chance. By reading and looking at the "blueprint" I could tell their King room seemed small, but we decided to give it a try. As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were disappointed, as stated the pictures do not match what you see online. During our stay there were signs up about renovations going on during a certain timeframe of the day, which was kind of disappointing, but at the same time we were not disturbed by any noise. The hotel clerk was friendly and when I mentioned how the room seemed a bit small, he did accommodate us by "upgrading" us to a king with a balcony, which IMO was not much bigger, but did have a view of Broadway. The plus of the hotel was that is was near Broadway and other attractions like Top Golf. The downside again is the pictures do not match what you actually get. The "bar" area was not as the pictures displayed. Hopefully after all the renovations they are doing and planning it will spruce up the place a bit, but as of now we will not stay here again. read more

If the beach front hotels are sold out, this is a great property to stay. It's convenient to shopping and other beach attractions.

This hotel is conveniently located along Hwy 17 in North Myrtle Beach between Barefoot Landing and Tanger Outlets making it a perfect homebase for shopping and dining in the area. Our group traveled to town and checked in very late Thanksgiving night to be in the area to shop the sales the next day. The hotel was accommodating of our late check in request (nearly midnight) and our room was available upon arrival despite the hotel being sold out of rooms otherwise. The lobby seems to have been updated in recent years and is very clean and inviting. There is a large lounge area with fireplace and TV that is decorated thoughtfully with local books and truly felt like someone's living room. The rooms were also clean and modern, but overall basic and nothing extraordinary. Our group agreed that the mattresses were quite hard, but some people prefer firm beds so that's just a matter of preference. The hotel does not provide breakfast with every room reservation but you can opt into a package that includes 2 breakfast tickets per room per night. Instead of a typical continental breakfast the hotel actually has a bar/cafe area called the Bistro that is like a mini Starbucks. Each breakfast ticket could be redeemed for various combinations of offerings which included bakery items, fruit and yogurt, as well as hot cooked meals. This breakfast service was a little on the slow side but we at least felt as though the items were being prepared fresh versus premade and popped in the microwave. read more

Came in on Sunday afternoon checked in with the front desk. The front desk staff was terrific took care of everything we needed. Room was ok could have been disinfected to get the moldy smell out. Now the cleaning crew was totally different they never once asked if we needed anything every morning for 5 mornings we would see them in the hall and they never asked how is everything do we need anything clean towel... ect. The gentleman that checked us in was friendly and helpful. There is also a Starbucks in the lobby. The cons: The room has a musty smell. Hotel renovation construction beginning at 7 AM. Was rudely awakened by the sound of steel beams crashing in the parking lot and a forklift beeping, along with sustained noise thereafter. This property knows if they were transparent about construction noise, no one would stay with them, so they hide it until you are on site and it's too late to book somewhere else. They should stop being yes-men and tell their contractor to have the workers begin later every day. Completely unacceptable that they don't. Literally the only thing people absolutely need to do in a hotel is sleep. You guys have cheap, unsupportive new mattresses, and you woke me up at 7 AM. You failed miserably. I won't be back. Let me add, I'm an ambassador and I will be passing my feedback along to Marriott corporate. read more

Take your money elsewhere. After arriving I thought initially, "Nice, looks like it was just renovated". Later I would equate this hotel to lipstick on a pig. The rooms are small, with poorly laid out bathrooms, and already breaking. The fridge needs to be opened every two hours and a button must be pressed or it will shut off. The TV and remote need what seems like an eternity to figure out what you're asking them to do. The shower door opens on the wrong side in relation to the towel rack. There's towels in the shower room, no wash cloths. Our glass shower door broke the first night. Beds are uncomfortable (to me) and the pillows for the king bed are tiny little things. And the breakfast is, really no other way to say it, trash. For close to $40, I expected more. The attempt to make it one off is severely lacking. Its a complementary breakfast that costs too much. We ate better, and for less mind you, at one of the local breakfast diners nearby. The only good thing I can say is about that the front desk service. They were very helpful. Would I stay here again, not likely. read more

Pictures are very deceiving. This hotel is NOT updated with all the other Marriott hotels. Staff was polite friendly and courteous, however I was not aware that every room was pet friendly a few little bugs here and there in our room, the noise level from the toilet flushes, to the shower and the people in the hotel was extreme. I could hear people all hours of the night. We also could not get a right temperature in the room. Again the staff was courteous and brought us things that were not in our room upon arrival. Stayed here last night and really enjoyed it! Simple bedrooms, very clean, and I enjoyed that the sinks were outside of the bathroom...that way everyone can get ready at the same time! I loved the market place, prices were decent. If stay here again! Only thing I didn't like was the smell of the blankets? Atleast I think it was the blanket..like a weird burning smell. read more

I find Myrtle Beach loathsome and unfortunately I find myself here for business from time to time. Whilst stuck here I try to find things to distract me from my surroundings. One of the best things to do for this is to put yourself up in Marriott property. By doing this I am guaranteed to feel like I am in any town in America. The Marriott chain does a great job of creating consistency within their properties. The Courtyard at Broadway on the beach is no exception. They have an updated lobby with the Bistro experience and they even have a happy hour from 5-7pm. And thank the holy lord they serve Sierra Nevada. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and I have already forgotten about all of the cheap touristy crap outside my door. Thank you Marriott for being so predictable. read more

Also the air system in the room either is old or needs cleaning, room was very dry and stuffy. There is no breakfast served by the hotel even if you have a status. Disappointed to even think this hotel is a Marriott. We travel a lot and a good 98% of the time we stay at a Marriott hotel. At first glance we thought it would be a good idea to stay here. It's location is great (close to Broadway at the beach) but it's definitely not worth having someone break into our car. To make it worse we literally stayed for 3 HOURS just to get some rest before hitting the road again. Anyways, the guy at the front desk during check in told us to park in the back, so we did because we thought it would be closer to the room/elevator.. which it wasn't. Anyways, When we were checking out and walked downstairs to our car we realized that they popped the key hole and stole our stereo which we paid $1,100. We went to the front desk to let them they broke into our car and asked to see the security cameras. That's when we learned that they don't have cameras outside. The only reason why we asked for the security video is because they have screens at the front desk that give you the impression that they do have security. We just had to call the cops and fill out a report but that was about it. Don't stay at this Marriott! It's definitely needs to be remodeled, obviously not safe, and nobody from management even cared enough to get back with us. Absolutely no acknowledgment about this incident. read more

This hotel was one of the worst hotels that I've ever stayed at. Let's first start out by saying that when we called to make our reservations at the hotel that said they did not offer suites, this was a lie! Additionally, we were told that the hotel was newly renovated, oh, this also was a lie! Upon arriving to the hotel, all the way from Indianapolis, we get to our room and the room was not only old but there were missing parts to the furniture such as knobs to the desk lampshades were broken on the lamps. Light bulbs not working! The room was dirty, the chair was stained, mold in the bathroom. First I reported the condition of the room to management about the furniture missing parts in cheers being stained and was offered another room that was in even less favorable condition. By us being all the way from another city and having a large family event we weren't able to find another hotel so the management gave us a little bit off of the room, not anything to be completely satisfied about but she tried. Additionally, when we started to get settled into the room that same day we reported that the bathroom was dirty and had mold around the tub dirt around the tub and inside of the tub, it was just not clean! Housekeeping came in and told us that it would not come off, so I reported that to management. Next, there were people in our party that booked rooms later and we're giving SUITES at a much much lower rate. I also spoke with management about the fact that we were lied to about not being hotel that offers Suites as well as the representative not advising us that we should have been speaking with a group sales representative upon booking as opposed to that representative just wanting to get credit for all the rooms and reservations that were made on the original date back in October of 2020. Some of the pictures that I am posting will be of the bathroom (mold) and other things so we were living in unhealthy conditions for 4 days and that was just unacceptable! Lastly, Please do not stay at this hotel because they are racist! On one of the nights we were gathering at our hotel, on the outside when the staff called the police on us for gathering as opposed to coming and advising us that we would have to come on the inside of the hotel to fellowship. When we confronted the staff on duty he said that they did not have time to deal with us he was busy. We were not causing any trouble, just a lot of talking and laughing. Afterall, we had just lost our loved one the day before we arrived. Needless to say, there was also another family of the different race that gathered on the next night in the parking lot and they were politely spoken to by management and asked to bring it inside! They did not have to go through the harrassment and embarrassment of having the police called on them! read more

This is a very poor excuse for a Courtyard Marriott. Very below par. Unlike other Courtyard Marriotts no Breakfast in a Bag (which every other Courtyard offers during Covid instead of the breakfast buffet,). TINY 30" TV in room, AC not working well (it works but poorly,) no facial tissue in bathroom and the printer does not work in their Business Center. Oh and no hair dryer or extra toilet paper in the bathroom. And when we dial "0" for guest services at 8am, no one answers. WHO OWNS THIS HOTEL???? It cannot be Marriott!!! read more

Stayed here one night with my family. The exterior looks nice and clean, lots of parking. The staff was friendly, even as we checked in at 3am after a long night of driving. The lobby, business center and common areas were super updated, felt like I was actually at home in a lot of their lounge areas. Downsides, the rooms were outdated and not as clean as I'd expect. The floor needed to be vacuumed, I found stray hairs on a pillow that weren't any of ours, and the bathroom floor left much to be desired. read more

Ok, sorry if John S. had a sub-par experience back in 2011, but our experience was nothing but great. We would most definitely stay here again, if and when we ever return to Myrtle Beach. First, the location is right across from Broadway on the Beach, so it's nice and convenient. Second, it's a nice quiet location, with none of the riff-raff found nearer the beach. Third, the check-in staff was nice and accommodating. Fourth, our room was roomy, and our A/C worked just fine so it was cool the whole time. read more

I am a lifetime platinum member of Marriott and this is the worst Marriott I have stayed in anywhere in the world, cockroach in our bathroom, 5:30pm room still not ready for check in, GM did not even care to answer my phone call or email about highs situation. We were with a large group of about 30 families, which can be difficult for anyone to handle. The entire staff was all friendly throughout out entire stay. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms in the lobby were clean, the lobby was always clean...we were actually quite surprised at how clean everything was with the hotel being so close to the strip. This hotel was also centrally located for food, beach, and entertainment. I am a full-time student and needed to complete a quiz for one of my online classes the first night we were there (and did not have my laptop with me). The computers in the lobby were being wonky and not making it possible for me to complete my assignment. The night manager (I think his name was Lucas) more than went out of his way and made it possible for me to be able to complete my assignment that night. read more

I've stayed here 2 years in a row for multiple nights each year. The location can't be beat and is a short drive to Breakers Beach with Broadway at the Beach right across the street and Pelicans Park right next door. The hotel has mainly finished the indoor renovations but you can tell that some things were not updated despite the renovations. The AC units have not been replaced and the room was always damp and humid. When I got to my next hotel all of my clothes were damp and musty from being in this hotel 4 days. The bathroom exhaust fan also did not work adding to the humidity in the room. The doors to both the room and bathroom also have not been updated and let in a lot of noise and light. The patio door was old and difficult to secure. The beds were very comfortable and soft and the room was a decent size. The pool is a disappointing size especially for Myrtle Beach and there is no jacuzzi. Many baseball and softball teams stay here so expect the hotel to be overrun by these families especially in the late afternoons and evenings when they take over the large lobby and entire pool area including taking chairs from the first floor room patio areas without asking or caring. The gym was nice and is 24 hours. There is still renovations going on outdoors so the entrance was somewhat dangerous with building supplies taking up many parking spots and scattered about many locations in the parking areas. The highlight of the stay was the breakfast hosted by Lenora who was so friendly and made the start of each day bright! The gentleman working the Bistro at night was also great and friendly! The front desk staff were all very helpful although I always get questioned how I got such a low rate (govt rate) which seems to make me feel guilty? haha. read more

Disappointing. Mattress is lopsided and very uncomfortable. Wifi is slower than dial-up internet circa 1995 and drops out a lot, and there's no wired LAN connection. But the worst part is the hotel is under major renovation so there's non stop hammering, machine noises, banging, stomping, loud talking, etc. At check-in they said I probably wouldn't even notice. Yeah right. Perhaps if I were dead I wouldn't, but then again, it's pretty loud. This has been a very unpleasant business trip to an otherwise delightful city. read more

This is the worst Marriott property we have ever experienced. We decided to stop by Myrtle Beach for one day on our way back from Florida and being a Marriott Rewards member, I chose this hotel. The first thing I noticed when I checked in at 2:30 pm was that all the trash cans outside were full and overflowing with trash. When I checked in the room, a lamp did not light up, and one of the lights over the bathroom counter wasn't working either. The furniture were worn down and the room had a musky smell. The lock to the back window didn't work properly either, but since it did have a security bar, I guess it was ok. The indoor pool was also filthy. I did not let my kids swim in there. I have been to many Marriott properties and this one did not meet it's standards. read more

So I travel pretty regularly for work. This time, it was Myrtle Beach! And I chose a room at Courtyard by Marriott. Maybe an above average room in a town that excels in "taking advantage". So, I come down to the lobby in the AM after a decent nights sleep to find that there is no coffee or anything available to their guests other than a Starbucks kiosk with $3.00 cups of coffee! Come on man! Never again. A continental breakfast is standard at this price point. You will have dozens of other options in Myrtle Beach. Next time, I will stay a few miles of out of town and drive in and spare myself the insult of unbridled greed and opportunism! This hotel is designed NOT to serve the business traveler but to take advantage of the gullible tourist. Maybe "Huckster by Marriott" is more appropriate. read more

Well I stayed here a weekend with my family and I found the place very nice. The first time walking in I found customer service girl to be very sweet and helpful. The hallways clean and it always smelled good. We spent some time in the pool and it was nice and clean and very cozy sitting at the tables with umbrella while my boy swam. The bathrooms in lobby and the lobby very clean and modern. They have a happy hour with some food and drinks and Starbucks for the morning coffee. Our room also had a nice balcony which we enjoyed sitting at over wine. If I could change anything it would be the pillows suck and I had to layer about 3 of them and still woke up with a little back pain. And wish breakfast was included with the hotel. read more
