My nephew and I stayed here for a couple days in spring 2017. The room was clean and the views, spectacular. The rooms were privately owned condos so each suite may not have the same experience. Furniture wasn't in the best condition, but nothing worth complaining about. Parking is within the building as a lower level structure. Heads up, parking structure was a tight squeeze though! My suite had everything I needed as far as toiletries and kitchen wares. I probably could have cooked a whole meal in the suite with all that was provided. The "back yard' of the hotel is the beach so literally a matter of just stepping outside to the ocean. I can't wait to return...

Great view just off of the sand dock.

We spent the week at Seaside and it was the most pleasant experience we've had. All of the staff we encountered were extremely polite and helpful. The view and access to the beach was great and will be difficult to beat for the price. We will definitely be staying here again.

RENTER BEWARE!!!!!!!! I booked a 2 night stay thinking I was going to have a relaxing getaway. All went well until I stepped foot into their water attractions. Let me give you the backstory. I booked my reservation online with no problem. I did not receive a confirmation email so I picked up the phone and called the hotel. The employee found my reservation and made sure I got a confirmation email. Great! Upon getting to the hotel, things started to go downhill. The female employee that checked me in, who was EXTREMELY nice and friendly by the way, told me that there was some maintenance on the water attractions and that they would be taking ONE attraction down at a time to fix. There was a memo also on the plexiglass divider at the front desk with this information. So, after checking into the room, unpacking, and changing into my bathing suit, I made my way down to the pools. See attached pics and video of what I encountered. The Lazy River - EMPTY. The Pool - EMPTY. What was open? An indoor hot tub and an outdoor hot tub and pool. Due to the fact that it was the middle of February with a temperature of 39° outside, I had no choice but to use only the indoor hot tub. Already livid, I tried to enjoy the first night just with the indoor hot tub, thinking that tomorrow one of the other 2 attractions would be open. Day two rolls around and guess what I encountered upon entering the water attractions.... The same situation. I went up to the front desk to complain and was offered a different hotel to stay at. Really? Why should I be inconvenienced yet again, and pick up all my belongings and haul them to a different location to hotel that I am not familiar with, along with all of this aggravation? This is the hotels fault in the first place for NOT BEING HONEST from the get go. Between my on-line reservation and talking to an employee at the hotel (WITHOUT being told of any attraction being down) to then being told upon checking in that only ONE attraction would be down to having NUMEROUS attractions down at a time is OUTRAGEOUS. I was sold the room under false pretenses!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!

Great place and great price for the off season. The resort is very clean and has beautiful views of the ocean in an oceanfront room. Front desk staff is friendly. I think it is time for an update of the carpeting and kitchen fixtures. I think Seaside could be middle of the road pricing If they upgraded and swapped some furniture out. The location is great and a great size 3 bedroom room. We do really love it here.

I need to write a brief backstory before my actual hotel review... We live in NC and had friends coming down from NY who were staying in N.Myrtle for a week so we said we would come for the weekend and see them. So I called about a DOZEN+ hotels in the area (near their hotel) to book a room for ONE night. They all told me they had a minimum of a 2-night to 3-night stay. (Sigh) This is where the weird part happened... I called Sea Side and they too told me they had a 2-night minimum. I called Avista resort (owned by the same company as Sea Side) and booked what I thought was a room with them because they said we could stay one night. (SWEET! FINALLY!!!) On the day of our "mini getaway" we make our way to the coast and find the Avista resort and go to check in... Only they couldn't find my pre-paid reservation. (HEH???!?!?!??) They then discover that I am booked a room at the SEA SIDE. (WHAT?!?!?!?) TOTALLY AND UTTERLY CONFUSED TO SAY THE LEAST (CONSIDERING I CONTACTED SEA SIDE DIRECTLY AND THEY SAID 2-NIGHT MINIMUM.) Mind blown and completely dumbfounded we headed the short drive down the road to the Sea Side... Review of the Sea Side: So we were TOTALLY impressed with the Sea Side!!! We arrived around 1pm despite check-in being at 4pm. (We wanted to be able to spend the day at the beach since we were only there for one night and wanted to at least TRY to check in early.) I wouldn't say the front desk was overly friendly but at least they were pleasant. Upon walking in (yes, at a kind of unusual check-in time) they seemed confused as to why we were there. But after explaining our situation, they pre-checked us in to save time for when the room was ready. We then decided to head to lunch and were pleasantly surprised when we got a call at 2pm saying our room was ready!!!!!!!!! We got a 2-bedroom unit that had a (part) ocean view. The unit was really nice!!! Each bedroom had (2) queen beds. The unit also had 2 beautiful spacious bathrooms (the master bedroom had a in-room bathroom with GIANT jacuzzi tub), a small kitchen with the basics (fridge, small stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker and pots, pans, etc), good sized dining room table, decent living space and a nice balcony. I opted for the "Continental Breakfast" which cost about $14 more. We had 4 adults and a baby in the room and I figured that wasn't too bad. We were pleasantly surprised with the number of choices. I was actually expecting basically cold cereal, bagels and muffins. They had those but ALSO: French toast, waffles, ham and cheese omelets, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, a variety of juices and of course coffee. The hot items you had to warm up on your own in either the microwave or the toaster but we all filled our bellies and left satisfied. We LOVED having beach access right from the hotel. This place does also have a pool but we did not go in it. Value: We came the second weekend in May (which happened to be "Bike Week" and paid around $200 for a Sat. night. I thought that was reasonable. Some cons for the hotel included: - (Not a huge deal but worth mentioning) Their parking garage was SUPER tight. I mean, tight-tight. We stopped attempting to go around the first turn and just parked in a spot on the ramp when you first drive in just for ease of getting in and out. - The beds were not comfortable. This was a disappointment. I usually LOVE staying at hotels because the beds are so much better than our bed at home but unfortunately, the ones here weren't the greatest. I kind of slept awful but we also aren't used to having our 1 year-old staying in the same room. So my super poor nights sleep could have been a combo of uncomfortable bed and baby in the same room. All-in-all, we LOVED our stay and actually considering coming to Myrtle for another weekend this summer and would definitely look into staying at the Sea Side!!!

COCKROACHES When we got to the hotel a poster was posted stating they were doing there inspection and pest spraying. We did not think anything of it because of the warm weather figured it's a normal procedure. When we got to our 2 bedroom condo on the 14th floor( after requesting a lower level floor we were on the highest), Everything was outdated.. I did not want this to ruin my vacation so I let it be. On Tuesday August 28, 2018 we had a knock on the door for pest control at 9:10 a.m to "spray". We left the room for 2 hours and sat by the pool. The next day (today) there was a lot going on at the hotel, including throwing extra furniture out and had several items of bedding all by the dumpster. We actually met one guy in the elevator and when asked how he was doing he said, great today is my day of but I got called in for emergency maintenance. Did not put anything together until about 2:35 p.m I saw a cockroach scurry out of the couch. I caught it and called down to the front desk. A maintenance guy came up verified it was a cockroach and brought the bag down to the front desk. He did not apologize or anything, his only response was "oh, they usually die after we spray.." my mother was very disgusted uncomfortable there so I went down to the front desk.. long story short the manager which I can't recall his name but a taller guy with glasses after telling me he would refund our money and reimburse us for our stay told my elderly mother " if you want to leave then be out within an hour , I need to have the room rented so be out by an hour and I'll refund tonight and tomorrow nights stay". I was furious and went down there and he stated he was only refunding tonight's stay and tomorrow's stay because there was no issue until today.. he claims he called his big guy and the big guy confirmed it was a palmetto bug(aka cockroach) and that it was not a cockroach.. still not an apology.. this has totally ruined my vacation we were lucky to find the best western down the street and couldn't be happier.. no bugs at all! Amazing staff and better rooms and view.. Manager was no friendly or sorry for the cockroaches.. Manager told me that palmetto bugs are normal-I just did some research and palmetto bugs are fancy word for cockroaches.. they were well aware of their cockroach problem and made it seem like it's no big deal.. stating if you stayed at the ritz Carlton you can see cock roaches .. this is not an acceptable response from a hotel manager.. there's so much more I have to say about this place but the post is long enough

Well worn and stained dining room furniture.... Made the room feel gross and unclean.

I booked this through Airbnb and Thomas Beach Rentals was the one I went through to rent the house. Our vacation was scheduled for July 11, 2026 - July 18, 2026. After driving over 12 hours with an 8 month old, we arrived at the beach house on July 11, 2026 about 3:00 pm. I went to Thomas Beach Rentals after getting a text that the house was ready. I checked in and went back to the house. This is when we discovered the house was TOTALLY misrepresented from the pictures online. The pictures online made it look immaculate and brand new. We first walked out to the pool. Half the tiles on the pool wall were missing. They were laying on the picnic table which was aluminum and rusted all over. You couldn't even sit on it. The pool water was VERY cloudy and there was sand all over the inside. There were numerous adirondack chairs sitting around the pool. They were all broken (cracked down the middle) and you couldn't sit in them. It was not a clean area at all. Then we went inside where we found it to be DISGUSTING! When we walked in the front door, there was the living room furniture sitting on an area rug. The rug was black because it was so dirty. The hard floors were not clean and were disgusting. Then we walked into the bedrooms. The one bedroom had mold in the bathroom. Each bedroom, where the carpet met the trim at the bottom of the wall was black. All the bathrooms were disgusting and not clean. Every door in the house was filthy with hand marks and dirt on both sides. It didn't smell clean at all. There was also a broken window (cracked through the entire top part of the window) with some kind of tape covering it. The door to the cabinet under the sink was falling off because it was missing a hinge. Most of the woodwork was torn up all through the house. We had an 8 month old child who crawls everywhere and we would not even consider letting her on that floor ANYWHERE inside the house. At that moment, we called Thomas Beach Rentals and told them what we found and we CANNOT stay there. I spoke to Ken (I think that was his name) and told him the situation and his response was "I'm not sure what I can do for you at this point." I pretty much told him that he needs to find us something else. By this time it was 4:00 pm. He said he had a condo but I said I wanted to look at it first. It was 3.5 miles north of where we wanted to stay. We drove there and parking was under the condo highrise and when we pulled in there were no spots. We could see the pool area and it was disgusting so we were not even going to get out to look at the condo. We drove back to the beach house and called him back. His response was he didn't have anything and we needed to work with Airbnb. At this point I was pretty much having an anxiety attack because we have an 8 month old with us and we just drove over 12 hours and have nowhere to stay. We then contacted Airbnb. They were fantastic and asked us to send them pictures. We did and within 10 minutes they refunded my money. They started sending us listings to look at BUT with it being last minute needing something that day for a week, nothing they sent worked. It was either out of our price range or too small for 2 families. In the meantime as we scrambled to find something on our own, someone from Thomas Beach Rentals showed up to take pictures. We showed him everything as he took pictures and he was beside himself that Thomas Beach Rentals would rent this house out in this condition. He said he was going to go back to the office and relay everything. After he left, 2 women showed up. They said Thomas Beach Rental called them. They got out of their car with a blower and went back by the pool. They picked up all the tile that was laying on the picnic table and blew all the dirt off the patio. They then proceeded to blow the driveway and also took all the chairs out to the street for the trash. The one lady then came up to me and said she had to drive 30 minutes for the beer cans they had to pick up. My response was "I know nothing about beer cans. We are upset about the cleanliness of the entire house." These 2 ladies didn't even go inside and then left. In the meantime, we found a condo about 2 miles further away from the beach. It was available so we booked it but had to wait for the owner to respond which said she usually responds within 2 hours. At this point we were all exhausted, not even knowing if we would get this condo. We decided to go to the store and get some food. When we were done, we went to the condo complex and just sat in our cars waiting. While we were waiting, Airbnb contacted me and asked if we found something. I told them the situation and they said "Let us call her." She called me within 5 minutes.

Unfortunately, over the past few years, we've noticed a significant decline. Cleanliness has become a recurring issue. We've had to call housekeeping back multiple times because the initial cleaning was not done well. This past year, there was hair on the toilet paper holder, visible dust in several areas, and the indoor glass tables looked like they were wiped with harsh cleaners, leaving them streaky and cloudy. In the past, if something wasn't right, we could call and it would be taken care of quickly and professionally. This year felt very different. The hot tub was broken, and instead of a straightforward apology or resolution, the issue seemed to be brushed off. We also had random sheets placed in our elevator that we didn't request, which added to the confusion. What was most disappointing was that when my mom left a review on their site, parts of it were altered and the negative feedback was removed--even though she still gave a generous 4-star rating. As long-time renters, it's frustrating to see the quality and customer service go downhill like this. We've made many great memories over the years, but we hope to see improvements moving forward.

Even though I completed all of the online pre-registration beforehand, I had to repeat the entire process at the front desk because they couldn't find any record of it. The line was long, instructions were minimal, and parking was confusing. Both towers park in the Indigo garage, and you have to use the third-floor walkway to get to the other tower--information that wasn't clearly explained. The room itself was the biggest disappointment. The layout is incredibly long and narrow and honestly just... odd. The master bedroom shares a wall with the public hallway, and because we were close to the elevator, we heard people talking at all hours. It felt more like sleeping in a hallway than a bedroom. The furnishings are badly overdue for an update. The furniture feels worn out, the closet door came off its track when opened, the master sink barely drained, the safe battery was dead (maintenance had to replace it), and the sheets felt like sandpaper. There were no USB charging ports or convenient outlets like you find in just about every hotel these days. The "kitchen" is really just a mini fridge (without a freezer), microwave, sink, toaster, coffee maker, and blender. Then the layout gets even stranger. The living room has a sofa bed, but there were no pillows and only one set of sheets stored in the master closet. Meanwhile, the second bathroom connected to the living room is enormous--with dual vanities, a huge shower, and a Jacuzzi tub--while the master bathroom is the size of a basic Holiday Inn bathroom. The whole setup feels backwards. The ocean and pool view was beautiful, but the room itself felt like a design that never figured out what it wanted to be. One of my biggest frustrations was the housekeeping policy. We were charged a daily housekeeping fee (nearly $30 per day), yet the paperwork says they don't actually provide housekeeping. The first two days no one even came until I called. When they finally did, they simply emptied the trash and left a couple of clean towels on the counter. Charging a daily housekeeping fee without providing daily housekeeping feels misleading. To top it off, the only proactive phone call we received during our stay wasn't to see if everything was okay--it was someone trying to sell us a "timeshare". There are also no ice machines in the tower and no front desk staff nearby if you need assistance, so every issue requires contacting the separate check-in building. For the price we paid (roughly $500+ per night after resort fees, housekeeping fees, marketing fees, and taxes), I expected a much more polished experience. Instead, it felt dated, confusing, and overpriced. The ocean view was lovely, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to make up for everything else. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

The property is located on the beach but surrounded by plenty of restaurants and just a minute drive away from the shopping outlets. Check-in was a breeze and of course, you have to encounter the dreaded timeshare "owner update" speech when picking up your parking pass, but I declined despite the push of 15,000 points or dinner certificates as well all know it's never just a 60-minute update... However, I politely declined again as I travel for work quite a bit and accrue my share of hotel points and airline miles... Anywho, I reserved a 1 bedroom deluxe through the timeshare site and I ended up in the South Tower, 14th floor, and in a nicely sized oceanview room. Loved the hardwood floors, modern decor, full kitchen w/coffee maker, blender, and dining/cookware, washer/dryer, nice comfy king bed and the roomy stand-alone shower. The indoor and outdoor pools were nice along with the easy beach access. The weather was very nice and going this time of year was great as it wasn't too crowded due summer break not starting yet, so it was very peaceful and relaxing. I'm sure they called my room several times to get me attend the timeshare owner update, but I just disconnected the phone line from both phones to have a nice and peaceful stay. Resort amenities are abundant and include direct beach access, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, (small) lazy rivers, a fitness center, an arcade, and a fire pit. We made a relatively late reservation here for five nights when we learned that international guests would be visiting. There would be seven guests (all adults) for two nights, and only four of us for the other three nights. We used extra timeshare points (making it more expensive) in order to get a unit on an upper floor, hoping that the upper floor would give us the best ocean view. Unit. (3/5). Our unit in Tower 2 was spacious (especially when there were only 4 of us), and had everything that we needed and was clean. We especially appreciated the fully-stocked full kitchen with generous pantry space, having a washer and dryer in the unit, and the jacuzzi in the main bedroom (which we under-utilized!). The beds were comfortable, and had high quality linens. However, we were somewhat disappointed with the unit as our ocean view was limited (although you could see the ocean, beach, and one of the pools from our balcony). And, as the resort was built in 2002, and last renovated in 2011, it's now beginning to show its age -- with sofas and chairs that were no longer firm, some chips on furniture, and the musty smell that comes with high humidity. Amenities and Activities. (3.5/4). Tower 2 was convenient, and had many amenities that we utilized. It was home to the Lobby and Registration, had direct beach access, a lazy river, access to indoor and outdoor pools, game room/arcade, activities center, gift shop, and fire pit. As with our room, some of the amenities need upgrades. For instance, the hot tub was lukewarm at best, and the markings on the shuffleboard had eroded off. The resort also had a full calendar of "Resort Experiences", which included arts and crafts, shows, fitness classes, and more. HOWEVER, we were three days in before we even learned that there were resort activities, as we weren't given a schedule at check-in. For instance, we would've gone to the Sunday evening "Karaoke Welcome Party" at the fire pit, but we weren't aware. We DID enjoy the "Hula Fire Show" a few nights later. A few other random points. (1) Parking could be challenging if it's important to you to have parking close to your unit. If not, there's plentiful parking (and a free shuttle, which we didn't utilize) behind Tower 4. We were able to get parking in Tower 2 most evenings, except one evening when we got back late. (2) we were surprised that the concierge did have discount tickets to the shows in Myrtle Beach that we wanted to attend.
