Their "Courtyard_Guest" WiFi is weak and unreliable, and that's just in my first 10 minutes. Strong signal but next to zero connectivity. C'mon guys - seriously?! No Continental breakfast here - their Bistro is closed due to Covid (then again, what *isn't*?) but a Dunkin Donuts being close by certainly helps. Guests also get 10% off at the nearby steakhouse. The biggest concern is that I was not allowed to insert the EMV chip on my credit card into the payment system kiosk - I had to SWIPE it. This is an invitation to fraud & credit card skimming if I ever saw it. Take a look at the back of an average credit card. The three mag stripe tracks represent technology that is nearly 50 years old. It became so subversive, problematic, and susceptible to fraud that EMV looked at establishing a contingency solution years ago against customers having their identity & their money stolen. Sorry to be preachy here, but you're asking this writer (with a graduate degree in digital forensics) to be ok with this at a higher end hotel chain? Sorry - it is a red flag for me upon a check in at *any* property, and the hotel deservedly gets dinged major credibility points here. Note that you will be charged an additional $40 upon check in as a hold for "incidentals" which will be refunded upon checkout. The rooms are nice and modern enough. Norwich is a sleeping dead enough town anyway. Even though you'll hear the adjacent I-395 traffic humming by all night, the property should get you a decent enough rest.

Courtyard Marriott is always reliable and this location is no exception. I was in town for a few days and this location was in a great spot. I did my homework and made the reservation. Needless to say, I was not disappointed in any aspect. Some of the rooms have balconies - with half facing the parking lot and trees and the other facing the parking lot and the highway. We had one with a highway facing balcony. No chairs for this one (but others do have), but it was a nice touch to the room. Everything was clean and while I'm not one of those who cares much for the decor, everything was a little more modern than some of the other locations I've stayed in. Probably one of the more modern and better looking internally Courtyards I've been to. There was no tub, just a stand in shower. If there is one complaint, the shower nozzle could use options - there was only one stream available, but the pressure was fine. They could also use another shelf or something in the shower as well. There is an indoor pool and a Jacuzzi, but there was always a lot of people so we didn't bother. The fitness room is actually spacious and among one of the larger rooms I've seen in any Courtyard. Parking is free. Depending on what time of the day you're coming, the spots in the front predictably fill up, but around the back there was always open spots. Staff was generally pleasant as always. One of the housekeepers was a little rude, but otherwise everyone was great as usual. I have good hearing and generally didn't hear too much noise - however whenever there is a noisy guest, it's not the hotel's fault. There was one guest nearby who opted to yell at her kids at the top of her lungs and slam her door almost all of the time - but thankfully it wasn't too late when it was done. When there are noisy people, it's not the hotel's fault or "paper thin" walls as some people like to complain about, but the actual guest(s) themselves. But there was no issues aside from that particular guest. The room has a microwave, a mini fridge, a Keurig coffee machine, ironing board, and more than enough outlets and lights. The elevators are slow, but not as bad as other locations. I didn't try the hotel restaurant, so no comments about that. Overall a great stay and one I'd return to again surely if in the area again.

What can I say! I stay in high end hotels normally for work and vacation. But we were in Norwich for a funeral. The moment we arrived and until we left the staff were absolutely outstanding. My wife even commented about them being really warm and welcoming. We lost my son's fluffy owl and I had to drive back and staff helped me out instantly. If you are in need of hotel in Norwich I highly recommend it. The room was nice for a short term, great staff and they offer breakfast as well. Thank you for kindness and friendliness during a sombre trip Regards

Beds and pillows are comfortable. Great water pressure. Thermostat worked and room temp was comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave in room. Elevator very fast. Convenient parking. Bad: hallways smelled. Bathroom not very clean. Random hairs left behind. Bathroom amenities not restocked. Good thing I brought my own soap. Paid for breakfast with my room but the restaurant was not open which they did not tell me on arrival. First morning went to breakfast buffet and all they had were some yogurts and mini muffins.

The bathroom had cracks in the ceiling and walls, tiny patches of mold in the corners, and one of the lampshades had a suspicious reddish brown stain. But I've stayed in worse, and will likely again in the future. It's not a total loss, it wasn't exceptionally comfortable but it was exceptionally convenient to Mohegan Sun, and after attending an event it was nice to not have to drive so long back home. That being said this place is absolutely not worth the high price that we paid for the room and we'll chalk that up to in demand pricing. I don't understand why a place that's raking in that much in room rates hasn't updated yet though. A mystery. I will note that the front desk staff is friendly and courteous, that softened the experience some. I won't be returning here, but that's not because of them.

The space is stocked with everything you might need from a lantern and flashlights to tea and granola bars. They even had two chocolate bars for s'mores! How thoughtful is that!! There is a short walk from where you park to the location of the tree house (and the other units as well). Bert was AMAZING to help us with our cooler and luggage. Next time (and there will be many!) we'll pack lighter as we brought a lot of what they already had. Really just a change of clothes and some toothpaste is all you need here! The outdoor shower, located under the main house, is lovely and well lit. We showered in the evening before bed and felt very safe and comfortable. This is also where the sink is to wash dishes, etc. There's a gas grill as well as a Coleman stove in addition to a fire pit! The tiki torches around the fire pit area are a nice touch. The composting toilet is in a separate room inside the tree house with a door for privacy. The directions are clearly marked and once you get used to it, it's a breeze to use. The space itself was nicely appointed and decorated tastefully and sparingly. One of the days we were there it rained, and we spent the day relaxing, chatting, napping, snacking all dry and cozy in this little slice of contemplative heaven. Highly recommend if you just need to get off the grid for a few days, although there is electricity and fair cell service so you can still Wordle if you must. We're headed back next month, and the month after that,, and the month after that to try out the tiny house and the Octagon house by the brook. A full five stars for Bert & Nancy's Water Forest Retreat!!

Monday night stay in April 2026…read more I've been to other motels in area for about same rate and at this rate it out performed the others with obviously 2 to 3.5 stars. The entrance is really easy to miss as the traffic is moving so fast and the Hyatt sign is so small, low, and not lit very well. The entry looks like a service entry to some back area.. and it is way in the back so you will not see the building until you are well down their road after you turn in. Parking not so bad although I can see on a busy weekend it could be a challenge to find a spot near the front. Elevator is past right desk to right, whereas dining is to left. There is a gym open 24 hours (didn't go to it) The indoor pool I believe is open until 10PM (didn't go to it) 5 Minutes straight down the road to the Mohegan Sun (nearest to Winter Parking) Room with king was clean and in good condition. Everything worked. Bathroom door was wide and ADA compliant. In our King room we had a couch, work table, king bed, mini fridge, one LCD large flat screen TV, and all the other typical stuff in a room. The breakfast in morning included hot service: Canadian bacon (slightly salty but great) Has brown cubes Scrambled egges French toast (without the vanilla extract) Also - hard boiled eggs, totilla wraps, berries in sauce, yogurt, various breads, bannanas, OJ/Apple Juice/and Cranberry? The food attendant was right on stocking the food. Bus your own trays and silverware to bins to left of room. Food seating - the lobby area, the main area near food, and a sunny veranda. Hours for breakfast (included complimentary with lodging) 7AM - 10AM Check out is at 11AM Check in is at 4PM but you can request earlier time Lobby had a slight funky odor, but not incredibly bad although it could use some air freshener There is a snack and beverage display to right to bac near front counter. Price is a bit high e.g. med chips ~ $5.50. There is a CVS right down the street, pick up your snacks a beverage there instead. There are no steps into building so it is all ADA compliant. No smoking unit - great! I do not believe it accepts pets either. Not sure. Some movie channels could not connect because of signal issues. The menu on the TV is a big pain as you cannot scroll the menu, just let it run through. If you hit the channel up or down button it only effects the channels not the menu. There is no menu button. HVAC works fine. Typical noise but at least you don't hear clanking blades or noise like a airplane when it's running. Sink is out side bathroom which has shower (rain style not forceful spray), and toilet. Towels are placed in shower stall, high up and opposite shower head. Two night stands (one has a useless clock with no instructions), so use your cell phone for an alarm. The other night stand has a USB connector box. Both sides of bed had sconces. I would stay again if it was same great price (under $100 plus tax; weekend is probably higher). Well worth it at this rate! Not perfect, but the other stuff and small inconveniences was worth living with for what you get at this price point so close to the casino. Enjoy your vacation or trip!

This hotel is a poor reflection of the Hyatt line, if staying here, make sure to bring slippers and shower shoes, as you don't want your bare feet touching this gross carpet let alone the moldy shower. After seeing this, I'm definitely not going to be sitting on the couch because if they can't even vacuum, I know that couch has never been touched. If you don't know what you're looking for, you will certainly drive by this hotel as the sign is not lit or visible from the road. If you're trying to watch Netflix or any other streaming service, forget it. They don't have any streaming services on their antiquated TV system and it's also impossible to work the remote. This hotel is definitely two stars at BEST, would never stay again. Someone from corporate needs to come to visit this hotel as it is certainly tarnishing the Hyatt reputation.
