Hampton Inn in Norwich is one of my favorite hotels to stay in when in the area for work. The rooms I have stayed in are alwayd clean when I arrive. The bathrooms are stocked with soaps, conditioner, body wash in pumps mounted to the walls. I first saw this in Europe years ago and I'm glad it's catching on here in the U.S. If you forgot to pack those items it's great to have them already provided for you in the room and with less waste than those single packaged ones from years ago. The hotel has a small retail area for small microwaveable meals, snacks, candy, amd drinks. There is a pool, fitness center, and a bar/lounge on-site. Breakfast is served 6am -10am on the first floor and is included in the room rate. Make your own waffle, cereal, eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, bagels and pastries, fresh fruit, juice, and coffee were available during my stay. This location is about 15-20 minutes from the Submarine base, and less than 10 minutes to Mohegan Sun, just off of I-395. read more

Had a really comfy stay here while going to Mohegan Sun for Trans Siberian orchestra show. Loved the pool and the waterfall jacuzzi! Fabulously relaxing and rejuvenating. Location was perfect! Room we stayed in was on the cemetery side of the building, it was very quiet. Other side is adjacent to the highway. Our room was 220. I had a great stay here a few days ago as an affordable alternative to staying at Mohegan Sun. A friend and I were in town for an event at the casino, but we weren't planning on gambling, so we weren't keen on paying $500 plus for a room there. The Hampton Inn is only 7 minutes away from the casino, and with free parking and breakfast, it was a great alternative! Our room was very clean when we entered, towels were fresh and the bed was comfortable. Mattress was a little soft for my preference, but it was neat and clean upon my arrival. The room came with a coffee maker, which took pods, but you can get fresh hot coffee and hot water for tea downstairs in the lobby 24/7. Some folks have complained that there's no actual traditional drawers for storing clothing, and I can see how this is a problem , especially if you're staying in one of these rooms longer than a few nights. What they do have our pull-out drawers made of metal wire , which would cut down the probability of someone forgetting something in a drawer , but probably also easier to clean. The room that we had was one king bed only meant for two people, so maybe a larger room had a different drawer setup. Pro tip, pack your stuff in packing cubes if you plan to stay here. The pool was very relaxing if you were someone who likes to do laps, and the hot tub was incredibly warm and relaxing after a day of standing all day. We did not use Mila's lounge, which is a bar that serves snacks Fridays and Saturdays, but it looks like a nice place to hang out. Breakfast could have been a little bit more expansive, as it seemed like the middle island was completely empty with just a rack of oranges. However, it included waffle maker, your basic hot breakfast items (scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries). Hotel staff were professional and gave service with a smile. Room is clean, wide and quiet. The heat is working fine without noise and smell, which I'm really satisfied. The breakfast is super tasteful Especially the cheese omelette I think this is the only thing I have never seen and tired it in other hotel/inn. And they also provide blueberry bagel. I hope it will be half cut before serving to the customers. I need to have cut it by myself. All the tableware our cleaned and neat. But that breakfast literally light up my day. The staff is very friendly. When I go out at midnight. The lady in front desk say good luck to me after she knows I'm heading to the casino, she's so cute and so nice, passion, and treating me as family I really like her smile . Want to give her 10 stars. The room is clean and neat. Everything is clean and well working. Thanks God the heat is working very well during the winter which has only 20 degrees outside. So far it has been a good experience since we have to been here. A little surprise had to sign a memo of understanding when checking in. Talked about quiet hours, no parties in the room and some other things to me which are understood. WiFi works very well and dependable during our stay. Breakfast was okay not crazy about the chicken apple sausage for breakfast. Potatoes were nothing to write home about either. Sunday morning breakfast was not much better the scrambled eggs seemed liked powder eggs scrambled no flavor no taste. Was really surprised in the room that we did not have drawers to put our clothes in. There are two large cushions under one table where a dresser could go. AC/Heater work great and controlled by the thermostat on the Will probably look for something else next time up in this area. read more

My Husband and I stayed here for 3 nights for a short getaway. I was shocked that they only have housekeeping if you stay at least 3 nights. They don't empty the garbages or take the wet towels out of the room. They only clean if you stay at least 3 nights and then it's every other day! To me, this is unsanitary. I have never heard of a hotel that does not clean the rooms every day! This was very disappointing. All rooms should be cleaned every day whether or not you stay 1 night or more. This is the reason I will not be coming back to this hotel. read more

Wonderful experience at this clean, well staffed hotel. The room was sizable and very clean. The free breakfast has been modified from usual, but they still offer a good selection of yogurt and fresh fruit. Bagels and a few sweets were also available. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our extra needy family. Extra pillows and towels were provided with a smile. We made pool reservations and it was obvious they were keeping the pool area very clean and sanitized between sessions. Overall, I could not have anticipated a more pleasant experience. Sunday 3: Asked front desk staff for housekeeping service. Policy: Housekeeping service for stay-overs. At 10:30 am I also asked a housekeeper in the hallway, to service our room, empty trash , and make our beds. When we returned at 6 pm and 9 pm our room had not been serviced . Room smelled musty. Two people who came to my room complained about how bad it was. Lived through that. But what absolutely ground my cookies was them charging me $3.00 after the fact for a bottle of water that I did not take. I purposely left both bottles alone because the sign said I would be. Michelle at the desk said when I called she'd check with housekeeping. (Yeah, the people I left a cash tip for Fat chance of getting a resolution from them.) I don't care how they resolve it. Nice breakfast and clean room. Unfortunately, a manager took it upon herself to verbally badger my daughter and her 3 friends for jumping into the pool. They were all alone in the pool area, except for my wife and me, when Nicole walked right past us to shout at them. She did not say "excuse me", "please", or "thank you" but introduced herself by shouting "HEY!" then continued shouting at them as if they had already been warned several times not to jump into the pool. When my wife and I attempted to speak with Nicole, as she was storming off, she very dismissively told us that "jumping is the same as diving" as she walked out the door. The signage within the pool area specifically states "no diving" complete with the symbol of a head first diver in a circle with a line through it. There is not a single word anywhere with regards to jumping. When I went to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager about what had happened Nicole informed me that she was the manager but refused to give me her full name. We got it off the "Manager on Duty" sign on the wall behind where she was sitting. She was very rude to those children and very dismissive of our noticing it. read more

I'm going to be bold, and say that most average people can't afford to stay directly at a hotel casino. At $300 plus a night (I've seen it much higher on weekends), it's a luxury, I can't afford, especially with the amount of traveling I like to do throughout the year. I search for a bit on the Hilton site, and found the Hampton Inn Norwich. The price was right on a holiday weekend (about $150) and the proximity to the casino sold me. I wasn't expecting much, but before arrival, I did read some very positive reviews, so I stayed positive and hopeful. Upon walking in, I was more than IMPRESSED. This hotel was decorated perfectly and done in excellent taste. The lobby is impressive, the parking is free and easy to navigate, and the hotel colors are inviting and these were all of my impressions before we even entered the room. Our hotel room was large and the lobby decor was carried throughout the room, which I appreciated. The beds were ridiculously comfy and the bedding and sheets were high-end and luxurious. The bathroom was clean and updated (if only hotels understood that bathroom fans were a necessary evil) and the television was massive for the room size, which my poor eye site loved. One downside was our room view of a graveyard, no big deal, I closed the blinds and didn't think about it again. We made our way down to the well planned out pool and spa area. I loved the pool design. It's long and thin but can accommodate a large amount of people, without feeling crowded. The spa, looked perfect, but wasn't optimally laid out to allow more than three couple to enjoy it at the time (unfortunately, my boundaries tested and I truly stick to my belief that three couples is the max in here). The hotel has a small but inviting bar with a friendly staff (Christine?), and we enjoyed a cocktail, using our 10% off check-in coupon, before heading to the casino. We took the free shuttle to the casino which has space for about 10 - 12 people. The driver is friendly and explained exactly where we would be dropped off and picked up. Take note, the shuttle will be more crowded on the way back and people who have spent more than enough time at the casino might make some not so nice comments about who was there first and who should be let on the shuttle (in a very particular order). The solve for this? The commute to the casino is 10 minutes. I would suggest, at peak hours, offering the shuttle every 20 minutes, instead of 30. This would help to avoid the large shuttle crowds and lessen the tension among hotel guests. On top of all of this, they offer complimentary breakfast. The breakfast buffet has eggs, waffles, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, etc. Be prepared, the lounge will be very crowded on the weekends, but if there is no space, you can always sit in the bar (not open during the breakfast shift). If the bar is full, sit outside and enjoy the enclosed patio on a nice day. The possibilities here are endless. One negative, that may have been specific to our stay and room, is that we heard a lot of noises from other rooms. It felt like the room above us was doing gymnastics from 8 am on. Not what I wanted on a relaxing night away. This hotel seems to attract a good deal of families and small kids, so that could have had something to do with the noise. The front desk staff was friendly and went above and beyond. I wish I remembered the gentleman's name who helped us at checkin, he was wonderful. Checkout the next day was simple and easy. But we went in to use the hot tub and pool in the early morning and were in there for almost an hour when we were going back into the pool when one of the workers saw us and came in and said we weren't supposed to be in there. While we were in the pool someone put up a sign saying it was closed until 1. The sign was not there when we went in but the person was very accusatory saying there is a sign and we need to leave. They really need to check the area out before putting a sign on the door to make sure no one is in the pool area before putting a sign up and then telling us we need to leave the pool area. She was not very pleasant. The room however was nice and the pool area also, except for the rude employee. Breakfast was more than we expected. Room was clean, but the bed was AWFUL. for 200 a room you guys should get some tempurpedics or something, anything better than whatever mattresses you guys have. The pillows are pretty bad too. Decent breakfast tho. My back is killing me and neither my wife or I got a good night sleep. Not only that you can hear everyone else's doors open and close. Pretty rough for 200 a night. I get to drive 1000 miles back home with a busted out window. We parked up front, not too far from the lobby door under a light to help deter vandalism. If I could give less than one star I would. So this morning as we were getting ready to leave, head downstairs and see police officers in the lobby. Then see police cars outside, and noticed our truck window had been smashed in. Along with 10 others. Do not stay here!!! Tell me why your front desk staff (T. Curry) was less than enthusiastic, she was rude, sarcastic, and couldn't offer any type of assistance. She claimed she didn't hear anything. I find it hard to believe she didn't hear 10 different car alarms going off, horns honking, lights flashing for 30+ mins after the vehicles were broken into. T. Curry did inform me tho that she had contacted her general manager Nichole Clark of the situation and was on the way in and would be in after 7AM. Called back after 7am to speak with Ms. Clark, only to be informed she called out "sick". How convenient!!!! She obviously didn't want to show face to deal with I'm assuming at least 9 more angry guests that would soon be waking up to discover their vehicles had been vandalized. So staff member T. Curry was either asleep on the job (yeah Hampton, pay your employees to sleep) and that's why she didn't hear 10 DIFFERENT CAR ALARMS going off or she was in on it and was watching out for the criminal. Oh and than I asked for a printed out invoice and T. Curry REFUSED to give me one. I wanted one as I was checking out. As a Hilton Inn Silver Rewards Member I am highly disturbed and unimpressed with the way I was treated during this stressful situation. Most likely will also NEVER stay at another Hilton Hotel again. I thought I had written a review for this hotel but I guess not! My bf and I came to see the backstreet boys and stayed here. The room is great, normal hampton inn... the service left a lot of be desired. The front desk didn't greet you when they saw you... the girl basically ignored me but the guy next to her finally greeted me and I was able to get checked in. When asked when the shuttle comes- they were like just wait around the lobby BUT beware, they didn't announce when they leave so you have to be conscious and watching! We also got a creepy cemetery view which i did not like at all! how the hell can you win money when you are facing that? Talk about bad luck! Anyways, the shuttle there was fine, the driver who we also had back was playing some BSB to get us all hyped!! There was 2 other women with us going to the concert. The way back was a shitshow. People were charging at the shuttle and after waiting 30 mins I coudn't get on cause the guest in front of me who put his whole family in the shuttle shut the back door to not let me in while the driver watched. RUDE. The only redeeming part was he came back quickly and not the 30 minutes normal run. He only had 1 seat left and 2 other girls who was left so he was nice and did another extra run AFTER our trip. So if you go to a concert, drive or you will be stressing about shuttling. Ubers were surging the moment the concert let out so I was iffy to order one since $40 for an 8 min ride seems a tad much. Hampton Inn Norwich should be running 2 shuttles during big concerts like the backstreet boys!!!! Phenomenal experience at this Hampton Inn! Please be warned that it is next to a cemetery. The room is clean and very spacious. The door to bathroom is a sliding barn door so when you don't need it, it becomes the closet door. The breakfast is great. I made myself a bacon waffle sandwich. Overall this hotel is a great option for those looking to stay close to Mohegan Sun but not wanting to pay their outrageous pricing. I got a AAA discount rate that made the pricing even better than their normal rates, which are already reasonable. The check-in and check-out was painless and efficient. All staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The free breakfast in the morning was one of the tastiest I've had at a hotel! The decor is a little outdated but if that's my worst complaint, I must have had a pretty great stay! My favorite feature was the free shuttle van to the casino. It took the stress out of going to Mohegan since we didn't have to worry about parking, and the shuttle probably prevents a lot of drunk driving as well which is always a plus. The shuttle driver was friendly and attentive also. This was just another reason why I'll continue to rely on the Hampton Inn name when picking a hotel to stay at. read more

Stayed here for a show at Foxwoods and it beat any other price during the weekend I needed. When I arrived, it was awesome. The hotel was nice and quaint. The room smelled really good, was clean and very cozy. The bathroom was clean, and the sheets. There was a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. All three you need when away from home. There is complimentary breakfast, but I did not make it by choice. Overall, very happy with my experience at this hotel, will definitely stay again if visiting the casinos. read more

They tell you "they give you a policy" to sign when you check in, but they do not read you the policy, they have you sign it and take it because they don't want you to see what they chathe your card for. they charged my car 250$ on top of the 50$ hold for a dollar store confetti being in the living area. also charged 50$ to a friend for leaving drinks behind. they are a scam. The managers have horrible attitudes. The main manager yelled through the phone and hung up multiple times when I explained to her about her staff not giving a policy paper. The fridge wasn't working the water didn't stay hot. Not to mention, we only stayed at the hotel a max of 1 hour before leaving to the casino and arrived back at 4am. barley in the room, and they charged me the price of a room due to having to clean up "the bare minimum". expect to get robbed of your money if you stay here. This might sound like an advertisement for this hotel, but if you read my reviews, you can see I don't owe allegiance to any establishment. Beautifully appointed with throughly modern facilities. The front desk crew, are friendly and helpful as expected. The room was very modern and comfortable. The only exception being the barn door used for the bathroom. Takes a bit of effort to slide open and close. The highlight of our stay was the pool area, with a whirlpool/hot tub. A waterfall and lighting to make a relaxing time soaking away your aches and pains, a delightful experience. I highly recommend this establishment when staying in the area. read more

My family and I stayed here for one night as we were on our way to the University of Connecticut for a college tour. We were coming from much further north in Rhode Island and decided to stay here for the night. It's approximately 40-45 minutes from the campus. The hotel is much closer to the Casinos. There was a section of the hotel that faces the highway and a section of the hotel that has a tree-lined view of a quaint and picturesque cemetery. We stayed on the cemetery side. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming, and warm. Michael, the General Manager, checked us in and made us feel at home. He even recommended a couple of local restaurants in the area. There was a nice little lounge tucked away inside the hotel that leads to an outdoor area with a fire pit where one can dine and have a drink. We listened to one of the recommendations from Michael and went to Jack's Brick Oven Pizzeria. Very good food, casual, and big portions. The hotel was totally updated. Our room had all updated furnishings, a microwave, and a refrigerator. My daughter raved about the heated indoor pool and how clean it was. The fitness room was clean and had all updated treadmills and equipment. The complimentary breakfast was disappointing. We went about 30 minutes before they closed it and many of the baked goods weren't fresh, the French Toast was hard, and the coffee was very bland. We tried to make a fresh waffle but they had run out of batter. Overall, it's a great value. This would be my "go to" place if I was visiting the casinos in the area. read more

There are only 2 things I want to make others aware of. The first: When we arrived in our room there were 2 bottles of water sitting on the countertop so we drank them during our 1 night stay. A couple days after I see a $6 charge on my credit card statement. It's not a lot of money but I called anyway just to see what it was for. The rep advised it was for "in-house water". I told the rep we did not order anything. The rep asked if there were any bottles of water already in the room and if we drank them. I respond "yes" (because we did drink them). The rep advised there was a sign somewhere near the water stating it is only free for "Silver Level Members Only". I am not saying the sign wasn't there because it probably was (maybe in microscopic print... I don't know), but neither me or my fiancé seen it. Second: try to avoid buying snacks at the snack shop near the front desk unless you are ok with paying 4x the value of the actual items. A mini container of Pringle's, very small bag of BBQ chips, a single pack containing 2 pop tarts, 1 extra bottle of water, and a 20 ounce bottle of soda came to $16.50. There were no prices and they don't ring you up for it right there, instead they apply it to your account and it shows up on your credit card account after checkout. So overall not a bad stay at all and I expected the snack prices to be inflated severely so I am not complaining, I just want others to be aware. I would have rated at 5 stars if they hadn't pulled extra marketing stunts. read more

I have been booking rooms exclusively with Hilton for over five years now and I can say that this is one of the best Hampton Inn's that I have stayed at. It the perfect place to stay if you are going to go to Mohegan Sun Casino. It is located right off the I-395 and it is surrounded on two sides by a cemetery. How is that for peaceful? They have shuttle service to and from the casino running all day and late into the night/early morning. The staff here does an outstanding job. They are sincerely friendly and accommodating. The room was perfect and they made our stay in Norwich a pleasant one. I also enjoyed the free breakfast. Everything was even better than I would ever expect from a Hampton Inn. I highly recommend this property and major props to all the staffers at this Hampton Inn. Well done indeed. read more

I typically do not write reviews for hotels as there is so much to write about (even if you stay only one night somewhere), and my Yelp reviews tend to be a little wordy as it is. But I felt compelled to write a review of the Hampton Inn Norwich as I had a surprisingly pleasant and enjoyable stay their last weekend. Why was it surprising? Well, I've stayed at Hampton Inn's before, and they are always adequate and provide a clean and comfy place to stay for a night or two. But the Hampton Inn Norwich surpassed expectations in that they offered service and amenities equal to higher-end, more expensive hotels. Wanting to do a quick overnight for Labor Day Weekend, my GF booked us at this property as it was close to Mohegan Sun. When we arrived Sunday afternoon around 4:00, I was a little weirded-out that the hotel was next to a graveyard. But, again, it's a Hampton Inn, so I wasn't expecting The Four Seasons. Immediately upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by a friendly guy at the front desk (I think his name was Matt?). Check-in was smooth, and we went right up to the room. We were both impressed by the room (despite the view of the graveyard) as it was clean, spacious, and decorated in a funky, but tasteful way. Equally impressive was the rather large, Samsung TV in the room. Walking around the property, the entire hotel takes advantage of the fact that it is close to the casino, and the ambience and decorations all have a cool, retro, Ratpack, Vegas-vibe going. I liked it. We had time to kill, so we hit the indoor pool. This was a hit with both of us. The pool was long and narrow, with plenty of space to splash around. Even better was the hot tub, complete with a small waterfall to splash under, and underwater lighting that changed colors every few seconds. Still with time to kill, after showering and getting changed, we went to the hotel bar (always a must for a hotel barfly such as myself). I was impressed that this hotel even had a bar, as I had never been to a Hampton Inn that had one. And while it was a small bar, it was well-stocked, not too expensive, and the bartender, Christine, was pleasant. And though we didn't eat there, I looked at the menu, and it looked to be good (your standard pub fare). There was even nice screened-in patio area just off the bar with a firepit that was thankfully not lit (it was about 92 degrees outside). It was at this point that I turned to my GF and said, 'Do we really even need to go to Mohegan Sun? We have a bar, a pool, a screened-in patio where we can drink!' But alas, we went to Mohegan Sun. Part of the appeal and draw to Mohegan was the fact that we were so damn close. In fact, the Hampton Inn in Norwich is one exit north of Mohegan on I-395. They have free shuttle service every half hour to the casino on weekends, so we boarded the 6:30pm shuttle. And what a quick shuttle ride it was! All in all, I think it took us about seven minutes on backgrounds, and we were dropped off at one of main entrances to Mohegan Sun. The casino itself was quiet, so after a good dinner and some after- dinner drinks, we boarded the shuttle back to the Hampton Inn around 9:30. Why stay at the casino any longer when the hotel is so nice?! We quickly changed up in the room and made it back downstairs into the pool and hot tub to splash around another hour. At this point, the pool area was a bit more crowded than earlier, with a couple of odd characters hanging out in the hot tub, but it was a relaxing end to the night. The next morning, we made it down to breakfast around 8:30. It was quite crowded, and the food was average. But I was impressed with the variety of hot and cold options, and even more impressive was that the breakfast was free! Over the last year or so, I've stayed at more hotels than I usually do. And while I've stayed at hotels that were more plush or upscale than the Hampton Inn in Norwich, few impressed me quite as much as this property. Spent the weekend here earlier this month for my girlfriend and I's anniversary. It is right down the road from Mohegan and they provide a free shuttle bus service. From check in and check out the customer service was excellent and the shuttle driver was very personable. Go Celtics! This hotel is practically brand new. Overall the hotel is clean and the staff very friendly. Only a few issues, one was the location is next to a cemetery. Some of the rooms face the cemetery too. Second was the faucet in the shower became over pressurized and pushed away from the wall a few inches when turned on. And lastly the pillow cases were pure white when the pillows themselves were yellow. Other than that everything was clean and the shuttle to Meghan was convenient on Friday and Saturday. Have been going to Mohegan Sun for years and only found 2 decent hotels nearby, which have gotten very pricey. The Hampton Inn opened in December 2017 and it's our new favorite. The beds were extremely comfortable, the breakfasts were good and the staff was friendly. The Hampton is located close to the Casino and our favorite Chinese buffet, the Imperial Palace, is a short distance away on the same road. The only thing lacking was an upholstered chair instead of the two rolling ottomans, which are useless. Would also prefer a real bathroom door instead of the rolling one that serves as both the closet and bathroom door. These are minor complaints and we will definitely be staying at the Hampton Inn again. (P.S. The hotel is a short distance from the local Walmart - you can practically walk to it. The Walmart closest to us in New York City is terrible - crowded, disorderly, rude help, etc. and we don't shop there This Walmart is a pleasure to shop in. It's never crowded, it's well stocked and the help is very courteous, as are most people in the area. We always include a stop at Walmart when visiting, and now when we stay at the Hampton Inn, it's only be a few minutes away). read more

Hotel is in a nice area, easy access to 395 and close to Mohegan Sun. Hotel is clean. Rooms are nicely decorated and spacious. However, bed is so hard I had terrible time sleeping. Pillows are horrible as well. Our room was situated as air conditioner blew right on your face. If you turned air down room was too hot. Sadly, we probably won't return;as a good nights sleep is important to us. Hotel should consider better mattresses and pillow choices. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer Hampton Inn anywhere! First off..its a great location. Built I'm certain to attract the overflow crowds from the casino's...its a spotlessly clean hotel. Room is bright and airy...beds are comfortable(they need better pillows)..all is fine. The indoor pool is amazing. well lit...very inviting...nice hot tub...wife and I had it to ourselves in the early morning. Complimentary breakfast is way above average. scrambled eggs were too dry...but the sausages...bagels..juices...mini muffins were all delicious. Great selection. front desk(especially Sean) go out of their way to be hospitable. This location is right on the I-395..so our room was a tad noisy with car/truck noise. You might want to ask for a room cemetery side! HH members get a little bonus bag with water,fruit and granola bars on the way out. parking is easy. Even if you don't win at Mohegan Sun...this place is a guaranteed winner. read more

Close to Mohegan where we went for a concert. Very clean rooms, staff was super nice. Free shuttle to mohegan sun. Great place highly recommended. Also they provide free breakfast and you can make your own waffles! read more

Had an excellent 2 night stay here recently. The desk staff (Sean and Josh) were extremely welcoming and helpful, answering questions before we even asked them and giving us a choice of floor and view for our room. Our room on the 6th floor was clean, even facing the cemetery didn't faze us as it was a beautiful weekend and the "neighbors" were quiet. The room was well appointed, with enough space for 2 adults and 2 kids. We appreciated the availability of the fridge and microwave as well as the storage cabinet which the girls used for their snacks. The bathroom door (a sliding "barn" door) is a bit unwieldy to move, but I liked that we didn't have to worry about the swing of a traditional door. Amenities included: a lounge with a small food menu; free, 24/7 coffee, tea, and hot cocoa; a hot and cold breakfast buffet; a clean pool and hot tub; weekend shuttle service to Mohegan Sun Casino. The kids loved the pool, which was longer than average allowing it to never seem crowded. The hot tub had a small waterfall and was plenty hot for the adults to relax. My only suggestion would be to have some pamphlets of local attractions available either at the desk or in the lobby. read more

This hotel is new but the staff has the courtesy and professionalism of a fifth grader. The cavalier manager Mark is rude. During my initial check in, he questioned the use of my business credit card saying "some people try to get over". How presumptuous to think that everyone tries to get over. Some of us have have more tact than a banal thinking front desk manager. l Left an expensive toothbrush at the hotel, after about a week of them not returning calls I finally get an EMAIL stating that they couldn't find it even though I called a few hours after I left it. Initially when I did speak to Mark, he told me to "call back the next day in the afternoon because I'm not good with mornings". Huh!? I never did get that toothbrush. Sticky fingered housekeeping? I've left articles at the Hilton/Hampton chain before and got them back immediately. Don't let the allure of the buildings newness lure you in. The staff sucks! To think I had ultimately decided to quickly advance my Hilton honors from silver to diamond...I've since liquidated those points; that's how much of a bad experience I had here. read more
