Great staff, let me check in early. The hotel felt safe, clean, and modern. It was close to my office location. I was also able to get a nice breakfast sandwich and coffee to go in the morning. The only minor complaint is that one of the employees at the cafe was a little slow to come to the counter while two of us were waiting to order. A supervisor had to come from the front desk to assist and it was clear the employee was frazzled. Another employee came back from what I assume was a break and he let the slow employee have it. It's not my business, but that kind of reprimanding should not be in front of customers. And while I don't think it wasn't warranted, it should have been a private conversation. I left feeling awkward and that's the reason for a missing star. I'd still come back though. read more

Value I stayed here with my wife from December 29-January 1, and it was reasonably priced. I did pay more ($160) for the night of the 31st, but that's reasonable considering it was the New Year's. Overall, this hotel was great value considering I paid less than $500 (tax included) for 3 nights. Service and Room The service was very good. All of the employees were nice and i appreciated the attention to detail. One day I was looking to throw a big to-go tray away and one of the employees just took it for me. The room was clean and up to my wife's standards which made me happy. My only suggestions for improvement were to fix the temperature of the shower in our room. There was one time where the water temperature wouldn't adjust even when I pulled turned the knob. Also, I think that they would put a screen on the windows for safety. Amenities This hotel had plenty of seating in the lobby area and lounge seating downstairs. The lobby was decorated nicely for the holidays. My wife and I used the gym three times while we were there and there was plenty of good quality equipment to have a good workout. We enjoyed all the amenities. Location The hotel is located in the same plaza as a Red Lobster and Smokey Bones restaurant. I was able to put in a to go order for Smokey Bones and just stay in my room until it was ready for me to walk over and pick up my order. Super convenient! One day we traveled into NYC and this hotel is located super conveniently near the one Ronkonkoma station. It was only a 10 minute walk so we didn't even have to pay for parking or ride share. Also there is a Dunkin' Donuts right by the station so I was able to eat breakfast for a reasonable price. This was a pretty good hotel for a night. Staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious with a king bed, couch, fridge and microwave. I didn't feel cramped. There were no outlets around the "desk" area which was kinda stupid, and the parking lot sucked with only a few spots near the main entrance. I got to pay $15 for the privilege of parking here. I'm not sure who's leaving their car here to warrant this charge though. It was a little bit of a drive to the airport (more than I expected) so if you're staying here because you're flying out, keep that in mind. There are some hotels on the "entrance" side of the airport that are probably more convenient. There was a Smokey Bones and a Red Lobster in the same area, so if you're looking for something convenient, you have options. But there are other places just a short drive away. This was my worst experience in a hotel. First of all this is not located near MacArthur airport. It is at least 10 miles away. We encountered mold in the bathroom, broken tile and visibly dirty shower stall. Not to mention the dirt piled on top of the tiles under the sink. They did take care of the mold in the shower, but that was it. There was also a wedding party staying there, although the wedding was elsewhere. We were in NY to see my brother-in-law in intensive care. After spending the day at the hospital we returned to a very loud lobby scene. It was loud upon arrival and stayed that way Saturday and Sunday. NEVER AGAIN!! We will be returning to NY shortly and will not stay here. We have also stayed at Clarion Hotel and Conference Center which actually is right by the airport for half the price. And boy is it cleaner!! Not as fancy but well worth the price. read more

Definitely liked the fact upon checking my elite status recognized and was asked if I wanted bonus points or meal credits..took points of course. Sooo the room itself decent size with king size bed and pullout couch. One the bulbs blown by the bed contacted house keeping it was fixed immediately. Wish there was overhead lighting a bit dark. It's now 2022 digital clocks with USB ports would be nice instead of the old fashioned clock radio. Bathroom.. not sure if room related or hotel but I would suggest turn on hot water way before time to shower. It takes a good 2-3 minutes to be heated but once it is you will be roasting like chicken in a rotisserie. I do like the toiletries positioned on the walls instead of the little bottles. To engage the shower you need the strength of Sampson to pull up the lever and even after it's done it's not fully as there is still water running from the bottom. The toilet tends to run on its own and it's pretty loud. The walls very thin, when others entering their room it sounds like they are entering mine. My room was located near the ice machine and I heard every crinkle crackle and drop of the machine. Tiles around bathroom needs to be updated. The refrigerator is extremely small I had leftovers and I had to stand up the container so as to close. Then I had to remember to gently open because I s you open the container will fall to the ground. Microwave was a manual dial and also very small. I'm glad I got a small tea because when I went to reheat there was no way a medium or large cup would fit. All in all decent stay but much needed upgrade especially for a Marriot property. read more

Worst hotel ever & it takes a lot for my husband and I to speak poorly of a business. We were here for a funeral & the staff were beyond rude. They refuse to answer calls except when I call through an external number. They refuse to assist in any way regardless of the fact that we have not had our room cleaned in over 3 nights. This also happened last night. Tonight, I simply asked for coffee and cups to be brought up to replenish our supply and I was told no - you need to come to us. I said I can't come down as I'm in my pajamas and she said well I can't and hung up. Delmi or some variation was her name. I'm beyond disgusted. I go to a lot of hotels, so I'm confident when I tell you this hotel was average. "Courtyard Long Island MacArthur Airport Hotel" didn't give you a lot in the way of amenities for the price you pay. The main floor of the hotel is pretty nice, but that's just to get you in. However, the gym was not special, the bar was small, and the staff did not help with our bags. The room itself was small. There were four of us and we didn't have space for our bags. We had money and valuable, but they offered no safe to put them in. The bathroom had no vent, so if you had to go, it was not good for anyone else in the room. The refrigerator and microwave were small and we definitely needed both. The only plus, was the bed was comfortable and I noticed no bugs. That was the only caveat regarding the room. I hope it's not coming across that this was the worse hotel I've stayed at. The Wi-Fi is decent but if you're sitting at the Starbucks downstairs be sure to bring a charging plug to use at the small tables or at the tables aside the lounge chairs by the TV. They have the old school phone plugs for dial up of all things at the archaic triple donut ring table (or whatever they're supposed to be?). Come on Marriott, don't be cheap, the grounded outlets with the built in USB are fairly cheap at Home Depot to replace these relics. Get with the times! read more

This place is an absolute disgrace of a hospitality business. This hotel was chosen as a wedding block. One of the wedding guests came back highly intoxicated at 1am (as expected when you agree to a wedding block). Instead of offering to see this guest back to their room or allowing one of the guest's friends to escort them back to their room safely, the hotel front desk staff and security instructed this guest to leave the premise in 40 degree weather and would not allow the guests to even return to their room for his belongings. This has been the most tasteless act I have seen from a "hospitality" company in my life. Albeit the guest was very intoxicated and confused, but in no way harmful or a threat. I would highly advise against any weddings booking this venue in the future. Do not agree to a wedding block if you are ill equipped and ill trained to handle wedding guests. read more

Summary: It's unfortunate that when we needed a hotel during a difficult time, the one closest to home couldn't offer a better experience. Here's the positive. It's a nice-looking hotel and the staff at the front desk is friendly and pleasant. The woman at the Bistro is exceptional. The lobby is beautiful (except for the water leak that happened while we were there). The problem is, there's lots of issues and they don't really strive to fix them. With the rise of AirBNB and competing hotels that include breakfast (this one doesn't), there's no reason to stay here. When we checked in, we were reserved for a suite. They told us they were overbooked and we could only have a regular room. We didn't have much choice but to accept it. There was no option for a discount or any other consolation. The bistro is the only option for food and seems grossly understaffed. The people working there are nice, but even just a few customers means a long wait. You can't offer hand-made breakfast and lattes and then have only one worker. The WiFi sucked. We rely on it for work, and it was slowww, and then they want to charge you more for "faster internet". We just connected to our phones when it was too painful to deal with their WiFi. The fridge and microwave are microscopic small. This is becoming a common amenity in hotels these days, but they were so small to barely be able to heat up a large cup of coffee or keep a carton of milk cold. And speaking of that, our fridge also froze anything you put on the middle shelf. So the only milk we could put in there -- the lunch room carton size -- froze solid. There was no way to adjust it. Another issue is the noise. First off, it appears to be a party hotel. It's quiet during the week, but on weekends people get drunk and hang around all over the place, including in the hallways in front of rooms. We aren't picky about stuff like this, but three days in a row we had to complain. Nothing was done about it, though we were told security is supposed to be around to make sure it doesn't happen. It still happened. And the construction noise... they are building a suites hotel next door. Ok fine, that's temporary, but it made parking difficult and even unpleasant when the construction workers themselves are impatient and honking their horns at patrons. And it wasn't just once... we got honked at (for no reason) and we heard them honking at others. There was one day too regarding housekeeping... we're staying there because of an unfortunate event in our house, so have quite a bit of stuff we don't want laying around... so we skipped housekeeping a few days. When we finally decided to not skip, we took some of the stuff to our car early (8:30a) and went to work and spend time off site and gave them hours to clean. We came back at 3:40p and they still hadn't come. I called the front desk and they tried to act like it was too early to be complaining that housekeeping hadn't done our room yet. I've never heard of housekeeping coming after check-in time. Ever. Finally, there was one day we found one bug. Not a spider. Not a beetle. I don't want to be accusatory here because it was just one and I'm not 100% sure of what it was... but it also freaked me out and was the final straw. There were just a series of issues, and even on checkout when I mentioned the noise there was no offer for a discount or coupon for next time or anything. Again, they weren't unpleasant, just not willing to really do anything. Overall, it was too expensive for what it was and not as nice as it appears on the surface. Really, with all the construction outside, they should be bending over backwards to make guests happy, and they do far from it. Maybe they don't have the authority too, but down the road we're already having a much nicer stay at a different hotel. Honestly, with the traveling we've done, all the places we've stayed, there's just no excuse for what we experienced at this hotel. Sorry if it's harsh, but it's also true. My family and I spent 4 nights (November 23-November 27) at Thanksgiving and paid a rate of $200/night at the Courtyard Long Island Macarthur Airport. We had the most terrible experience I have ever had in 40 years of staying in hotels. We have two small children who got crumbs on the floor and bed the first day of our stay, and when we requested a housekeeping call, we were told that NOONE was allowed to have housekeeping unless they were staying at least 5 nights. I was dumbfounded. I understand being understaffed and having to abide by COVID restrictions, but the hotel was nowhere at capacity (the parking lot was practically empty, and yet they charged us $10/night for parking), and being asked to pay close to $1,000 total for ZERO hospitality or service at a well-regarded hotel is just shameful. When I asked for a change of sheets and vacuum, they told me I could "do it myself"...as a guest in a hotel. When I asked both the front desk and the cleaning staff for new towels (again, there were four of us staying four nights at this property), I was basically scolded. I have never had an experience like this in my life; I have never been treated so poorly as a paying guest at a hotel. The entire experience was outrageous, and I would like some type of compensation/refund for the disastrous stay we had. read more

Let me start with I requested a early Check in , as we where driving up from Florida , for a Memorial for my Sister . I had spoke with Nick at the front desk on my drive up and he assured me that a 1 am check In was not a problem . The lobby had been tapped off due to a pipe burst but you could see the stains where old on the ceiling tiles . The stairwell carpets Thankfully I did fall and get hurt due to the carpet being in such bad shape . I honestly would not recommend this hotel , they're is a Hilton Homewood Suite next door next time I will go there . This place lied and they could of cared less that I was there under such mentality exhausting circumstances. Time doesn't heal all wound when it come to Memorial it only makes you remember More . Asked how long the fire pit shown in ads was out of commission. "A few months." Hot tub not available due to " social distancing guidelines." How much longer do we have to put up with this cr#p? If you fear getting the Wuhan virus, stay inside. The rest of us want to get back to normal. And by the way, science says natural immunity is stronger than the EXPERIMENTAL injection. First Courtyard I've stayed in since the Bonvoy merge. Also the first hotel of any kind where you can't get free coffee unless it's that cheap dish water in the room. Oh sure, there's a Starbucks in the lobby. I can get that and pay too much at the airport. Not one USB charge port in the room, and the smallest flat screen with no guide on the TV, you know like Motel 6. Also the cheapest amenities in the room. My stay at this Marriott was quite nice. I came with the Wantagh Fire Department as their Installation dinner was at Villa Lombardi's. The rooms were cozy and warm which made all the difference on a day where the temperature teetered between negative and positive. In only a few short moments walking into the room, I was instantly comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. Ironically, the fire alarm went off at 10am - thankfully, not due to a fire (causes unknown). We were luckily awake and had already packed up and got our coffee downstairs. The hotel is right next to a Smokey Bones Bar & Grill. Extremely convenient and the service there has always been great (all 3 times I've visited - both during the daytime and nighttime). I stayed at the Courtyard in November 2015 during my wedding. Everyone was so nice from start to finish, they seemed like experts as far as hosting groups for weddings and events. I ended up getting a room block that was put together by Group Sales Manager Jackie Albanese. She was about the business but still friendly; she asked me what I needed and executed. Contracts were drawn up and all I's were dotted and T's were crossed. And she was helpful down to the day that my room blocked started; I was having an issue with some rooms outside of my room block (I mainly just wanted to ensure all my guest got a welcome bag) and I gave the front desk Jackie's name. They spoke with Ms. Albanese and made sure that even though some guests weren't booked in my room block that they were still associated with my group and were able to get a welcome bag. Given that our wedding was in Long Island, it may seem like a small thing, but we felt the welcome bag was a necessity because quite a few of our guests traveled a good distance to be there. And we're so grateful that the staff was able to hand them out to our guests. I had a great time at the hotel, my guests loved the service, the space, the lounge in the lobby and the pool! Also my vendors, such as my photographers, florist, and make up team had no issue getting access to me, except for one of the guests that tried to kidnap my make-up artist. I will definitely be back for a visit. My suite was huge, the room was clean and the size of the living room area was a great help; Even though I wasn't on a high floor I was still near the elevator which helped during go time! The hotel is great...so many amenities. I did not use the pool, restaurant, or even gym, but they all looked great. I did however, order Starbucks for the morning! That was nice! Two restaurants in the parking lot (walking distance) Red Lobster and Smokey Bones BBQ. BBQ is open until 2am. Hotel did have a toothbrush for me, but no toothpaste, so they gave me some Scope mouthwash at no charge! Bonus! Rooms were large with great comfort. However, the air conditioning unit only worked as a fan - no cool air. I think something was wrong. Very stuffy in the room. That is my ONLY complaint! read more

This hotel is the most hostile place. Nothing is free, including coffee. Across the parking lot, literally, is a free breakfast, coffee and tea. My room tub had black mold and the phone did not work the entire time I was there. The pool hours are ridiculous. 9-9. Meanwhile most hotels the hours are early morning to 10pm so people can get in some workouts. If you're here on business and want to work out with a few laps in the morning or start your day soothing your muscles before flying or after flying, forget it. It has to be done between the hours of 9-9 and there is no lifeguard on duty so why these rules are so stringent and such minimal hours is beyond me. You're swimming at your own risk no matter what. The room was sort of clean, but the ceiling in the closet was open and had yellow water damage on the drop ceiling piece that was broken. The window treatment is peeling off. The "store" in the lobby had abysmal choices. I did go over to the Hilton and could use their store to purchase items such as food and wine. No non dairy options were available in the store. it was either cows milk or nothing. The front desk staff was incredibly rude every time except for one younger woman in the evenings. I travel a lot and if you want meh to subpar service this is the place to find it. The bar on Labor Day weekend was not open after 9pm. This hotel clearly is lacking in staff and the staff they do have is unmovable, lacking in any type of hospitality, and zero initiative to make people feel welcome. The hot tub and the pool area are both in dire need of repair and simple upkeep. I really recommend going somewhere else if you want a more comfortable caring open environment. read more

I stayed here for 2 nights for my wedding. I had the full suite which was very clean and spacious. It definitely comes in handy if you are expecting lots of people in the room. The beds were comfy. There bathroom is huge. There is a full kitchen (regular size fridge, stove, microwave, plates, cups abs utensils). The hotel itself was recently remodeled and it is very modern. The staff are all very nice and helpful. In particular, I want to give Kerri P., Director of Sales a shout out. She worked very closely with me to ensure my wedding party all got rooms. Old Run down and uncomfortable There was no breakfast, the tv was so old it didn't offer any features and was small, very old run down hotel, bed and pillows were so uncomfortable, it was lumpy and soft, no amenities that were not old, old bathroom. Elevator was old as well and only 2 so you can wait more then 5 minutes to get one. Staff not accommodating at all especially for a platinum member. The front desk did not let me know that they would be renovating my floor until the morning of although I asked about my room. They had me come back to move to another room and then there was the renovating issues. The front desk was uninformed, not friendly, not helpful, and not available. I've had pleasant experiences every time I've been here, from the time a drummer for a national act gave out illicit drugs (gratis), to the time I met some bearded kentucky dudes who were in for the weekend after two months on the Appalachian Trail, and the time a chick wanted to take my associates upstairs to her room to party while her boyfriend was out scoring coke. Always a good unpredictable spot. Features a nice clean bathroom with roomy handicapped stall. Pachelbel's canon in d was a fine accompaniment and I found it a relaxing place to sit down and appreciate the fine tilework on the floor. (separate music in the bar). . . . There is an outside courtyard with a gas firepit. Happy hour is weekdays 5pm-7pm and has half price drafts (Sam Adams, Blue Points). They close weeknights around 11pm. We checked in this Christmas Eve, checked out on Christmas Day. We stay in the King Spa Suite as a gift to each other to relax and celebrate. I made tamarind meatballs, sliced steak, roasted potatoes, brie, bacon, and mozzarella/prosciutto.....none of which would fit in the minuscule fridge once we put some milk, a couple sodas and a bottle of champagne in there. The stay was okay. Spent some time in the hot tub and then laid down for a nap around 8pm only to be woken up by some banging on the door from the maintenance guy who had slid a generic happy holidays card stock under the door. The gesture was nice but the moment was frightening being woken from my sleep. The knock seemed unnecessary. Beyond that, I slept most the evening, relaxing from a super busy holiday season while my fiance used the hot tub on and off to cure his muscles from a stressful season working in the shipping industry throughout the holidays. The big issue is that a day after we left we received a smoking charge of $250 on the credit card. We called the hotel manager who claims that marijuana was smoked in the room. My fiance and I do not partake in that nor do we smoke cigarettes, or anything else. We've made it a tradition to stay in this hotel one night on or around Christmas almost every year for more years then I can remember and have never had any problems. We stated this to the manager and the staff but they won't budge on the fee (this being in addition to the $10 parking fee which we have never incurred before which also seems asinine given the suburban location). They have been very accusatory even though we swear to the gods we never would have smoked anything in the room. I was open to discussing any miscommunication or misinterpretation but 100% guaranteed we did not smoke or do anything. But they are not hearing us and are standing on their charge. While they likely won't care, they have lost our annual business and we will continue to fight this charge through every avenue possible. Additionally, we will be getting married in the next year or so and you can be sure this hotel will not be on the list for what is likely over 60 out-of-town guests. Do not stay here. I am a Marriott lifetime platinum member and cannot recall the last time I stayed at a Marriott property so desperately in need of a renovation. The AC unit had a broken fan belt, which wasn't fixed during our stay although I asked them to please do so. The rooms vents brought up cigarette smoke although it's a smoke free environment. The bed was decent, the shower was decent, everything else was outdated and/or uncomfortable. I will not stay here again. read more

Very nice, clean and well stocked. Very comfortable beds. Friendly staff, priced ok. They have a convenient Starbucks the lobby and a small area with some quick food you can buy and microwave. Breakfast available with stay. My only small tip would be to make that you bring an outlet plug for your usb charger. There are no USB ports in the room with exception to the TV. This is not a big deal at all, I was just surprised because of how updated the hotel is. Most hotels that are updated these days have USB ports in the outlets, lamps, clocks or other things close to the bedside. read more
