We checked in today and were told we would be charged $10 a night for parking, even tho we are in a rural area. We complained and the charge was kindly forgiven. A couple of hours later, I went to the little store in the hotel to buy a small, almost snack sized bag of popcorn. The price was $5.16. I did not buy popcorn! Bottom line: watch out for this place as their policy seems to be to buckle and dime you to a bigger bill. read more

Had a family wedding this past weekend and decided to stay here instead of making the trip back and forth to queens all weekend. Should have just made the trip what a disaster of a stay. These 2 stars are for cleanliness and wifi, that's it. First night we had to switch rooms because the room next to use was having a hotel room party and smoking in the room amongst other things. Staff was very apologetic on moving us. I'm a smoker...I went outside. Its a non smoking hotel. They even had a smoking pavilion. Second night the same thing all over again...3 floors above from where we originally started. Went down again to complain, they didn't do a thing. The woman at the front desks response was oh yeah we have had multiple complaints tonight about it. Seriously?? Plan on doing anything about it?? Maybe doing anything for us since this is our second complaint?? Nope I'm sorry when I think Marriot (any versions) I think of high end hotel stays. Not this. Yes we were all young and did silly things such as hotel parties...but in my day...you went to a cheap motel or hourly place that took cash. Not a Marriot Now I heard complimentary breakfast when we checked, my boyfriend didn't. Maybe I was wrong. There was no complimentary breakfast. Instead overpriced breakfast options. $21 for french toast and a sausage egg and cheese plate. Just really disappointed in this stay. read more

Basic airport hotel. Easy on/off the highway. Friendly staff. Decent rooms. I had a buffet breakfast here (in one of the conference rooms) and the eggs tasted off (like they had been sitting in the metal bowl overnight) and no toaster for the bread/bagels. Kinda a bummer. The staff was very accommodating and nice. The bartender was HILARIOUS and her eye rolls at the creep-a-zoids trying to pick me up in front of my father were appreciated. If you need a place to stay and Ronkonkoma I would recommend it. read more

The staff here are super friendly. I'm currently staying on the "quiet side" of the 6th floor. When I arrived in the late evening, I did hear some airport noise, but nothing that bothered me. The hallway smelled of pot even though the hotel is clearly marked as a smoke free hotel. The pool and exercise facilities were very top notch. The gym is not a large room (approximately 20' x 45' room). I came here for business and I would stay here again. read more

I just can't believe this was a Courtyard. The staff was amazing. The touches are great: phenomenal full breakfast in the morning (not those do it yourself waffles; I'm talking a FULL made to order breakfast), cookies at night, and a late-night affordable food center with great selections. The rooms are amazingly comfortable; the WiFi works flawlessly, and the place looks and feels great. I travel a ton, and this is easily one of the best hotels I have stayed at for the price. 5 star services at 2 star prices. read more

The hotel lobby looks newly redesigned and the front desk personnel were friendly and professional. The rooms however are in dire need of a face lift. The tv looks like one of the original flat screens and the picture was so distorted it was barely watchable. Decor aside, our room was not very clean. There was a very large stain of unknown origin on the rug and the bathroom needed a good scouring. The only redeeming quality here is convenience. There are two restaurants adjacent: Red Lobster and Smokey Joe's BBQ. Both are a half-minute walk across the parking lot. read more

CAUTION: This is only a day 1 review. So my girlfriend and I get to the hotel and there is some issue with the credit card system causing her card to decline. We called the card company and all funds were available so the hotel ran the card and it went through the second time. Then we get to the room after an 8 hour drive planning to take a nap before we go back out. Half hour into our nap a fire alarm goes off waking us up. An announcement goes over the loud system saying there is a fire please vacate. We rush out of our room as do other guest only to be told by a housekeeper that they are only testing a sprinkler on the roof. Such a bad experience so far. read more

We had a great stay at this property for a family event. The hotel is clean and the staff is efficient and friendly. We left some personal belongings behind and Kaitlyn, the AGM, was able to locate and send them to us quickly. We will definitely stay at this hotel he next time we are in the area. It is extremely overpriced. They have also implemented a $10.00 a day plus tax for parking. This place is in the middle of nowhere and is a courtyard. The Marriott web site does not mention the fee. It actually stated complimentary on site parking. Last time we stay there. I did fill out a comment card and have received no follow up. It is amazing I did not receive the standard email from them to complete a survey. That is the first time that has happened. I received that email from Marriott for the other two (2) Marriott's we stayed at this trip. Unreal, stay somewhere else! read more

I flew in from Arizona for a wedding and had a bad experience at the desk. 2 ladies at the desk gave me a hard time about a previous cancellation. I said I called weeks a head of time to cancel the previous day. They said it was with the main office and it was up to me to spend time with the main office. In the meantime she was charging for 3 days while I was only using one. I asked to see a manager, Susan Lo Fasco came out and fixed the situation in a matter of seconds so the high ratings is for how she handled this situation. read more

Garbage. Power went out morning of my brothers wedding for almost 2 hours. They had no backup power to get electricity to rooms. Manager Kaitlyn sent email asking how my stay was. When I called her and told about power issues she said nothing they can do it was mass outage and refused to comp even part of my stay. Never going back. Wedding photos ruined since we had to get ready in dark and no hair dryers or curlers. As for stay itself terrible service I called for a luggage cart and they never showed. Had to call again. Room had air vent looked molded and looked like filter probably hadn't been changed in years. read more

I've been staying at this Marriott on various holidays and getaways for the last 10 years, if not more. It's a lovely location, was just there for the 4th of July holiday. What was so disappointing this time is that the AC seemed to go very weak at night. So much so that it woke me up repeatedly out of my sleep two nights in a row. The first night, I was moved into another room and while the staff was gracious and did their best to make it up to me (the staff is always excellent here!) the same thing happened on the next night, waking up out of my sleep trying to turn up the AC and yet nothing happens. The 2nd night it happened, I did not complain about it, but was uncomfortable and woken out of my sleep again. I did a quick check on Google this morning to find that this is becoming a common complaint at Marriott hotels, that the AC's become too weak to cool the room at night. Mind you, I explained no problems with the temperature during the day. Overall, the rooms are very clean, the lobby was redecorated and looks great. The pool and gym are also very nice as well. read more

We checked in at 10pm coming from a long trip and they tell us that there's no hot water and there will be no hot water until the next afternoon. Then the lady at the front desk tells us that we can cancel our reservation and as a courtesy they won't charge us a cancellation fee. What were we supposed to do at 10pm at night? A courtesy phone call earlier in the day would have been nice. We decided to stay because we were tired and it was so late. Then she's trying to swipe my card for incidentals and she says it's not going through when I know there was more than sufficient funds in the card so when I tell her to give me the card back so I can call the credit card company she says let me try again and then miraculously it worked. Little did I know she charged me twice. These ladies at the front desk were not professional and were not friendly. Not once did they smile or apologize for the inconvenience. They acted like I was interrupting their personal conversation. And then to top it off the next morning I ask about the restaurant they have on site to get breakfast and one of the 3 girls tells me, very rudely, to walk over there and ask. What ever happened to good customer service? We will never be staying at this hotel again. Hotels are a dime a dozen but customer service apparently isn't. read more

Awesome staff at front desk. Brittany was on the evening I came in on Jan. 25 2020. I was in complete distress having gone thru a family tragedy days prior. All I wanted was a place away that I could be safe & comfortable. Brittany had seen this distress as I held back my tears not wanting to unload my troubles. All I had explained is that I wanted to sit in a jaccuzzi on the floor with the pool. Brittany had expressed her condolences and upgraded my room to a private one that had a jaccuzzi in it. I was so overwhelmed at her courtesy and compassion. My stay here was exactly what I needed. Quiet, peaceful, supportive, accomidating and professional. Very nice rooms and quiet. Rooms are much larger than a typical Courtyard. You can walk to two chain restaurants right next door which is convenient. This is a perfect business hotel when in the area. read more

We had an awful experience using this hotel for our wedding. The hotel staff mixed up everyone's rooms and check-out was a disaster. In addition, they harassed us on our wedding day, as they were confused as to who was using the room. The cleaning staff also threw out my sisters jewelry for the wedding day, which was in a gift bag on a table. To top it off, the rooms for my block were not ready by check-in time, leaving my poor aunt to have to get ready in the lobby bathroom, and caused her and her family to be late to our ceremony. Lastly, the café downstairs cannot handle high volume, and had such a long line that my guests decided to just leave at that point. I highly suggest booking with another hotel for your wedding to avoid this awful experience as we had. read more

UGH... Came here for a weekend getaway and was extremely dissapointed. The indoor pool was desgustingly dirty, no filter was on, grease & hair floating on the top layer of the water. The whirlpool had things floating around which to me looked like pieces of a depends adult diaper. Complained to the hotel manager and was brushed off saying his pool was absolutely clean and the filter was on (which it was not). In the room... ther bath-tub had a dirt ring around the inside which to me meant that the cleaning crew didn't bother to wash & dissinfect it after the last guest stayed. Yuck !! Nice courtyard Marriot near MacArthur airport. We stayed here for a wedding. Rooms were well kept and clean. Front desk was well organized and courteous. Small store by front desk has beer and wine. Bar is more of a lunch counter style setup than a bar, but staff was good. Parking is more than adequate. Elevators are small and a bit slow. read more

We booked a block of rooms for my daughter's wedding. Staff was accommodating checking in several people with early check in. The Sunday morning brunch was well organized and prepared for our eighty guests. We hired two shuttles to the venue so guests would not have to drive after the event. The lobby space was appropriate for the evening afterparty, and then the crowd headed across the parking lot to the restaurant bar to finish out the party. Rooms were clean. Starbucks available in the hotel lobby. The staff and location met all our needs. Thank you. read more

Do not stay here! I booked reservations for my family and friends for my wedding and all of my reservations were cancelled one week before my wedding because their system flagged a name of our friend that is not allowed at the hotel or their sister hotels. Our friend has never stayed at the hotel or the hotels nearby and he called the hotel directly. The hotel said anyone with that name or associated with that name is not allowed at the hotel. So the hotel decided to cancel all of my reservations one week before my wedding and notified me via email. My fiance and I called the hotel directly. The hotel did not disclose any further information or even try to check if this is the same person that is not allowed at the hotel. I asked to rebook my rooms excluding our friend who is apparently not allowed and they said no. We called corporate and even they said what the hotel did to us is unbelievable and inexplicable. I would not recommend staying here because of their poor quality customer service. I have stayed here a couple of times, but I am making sure to let our friends and family know to not stay here ever again. The stress that this has caused the week before my wedding is unexplainable. Our friend is currently following up with the Marriott Office of Consumer Affairs because they still have not given him any information about the incident that he was apparently involved in. read more

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott for two nights while visiting family. Beautiful rooms and lobby. we enjoyed the little fitness center and the hot tub. The only disappointments were the TV reception and the fact that breakfast isn't included. read more

When the problem wasn't fixed when they said we had to leave for another hotel, sorry we wanted to shower lol. But I called and the manager was very polite and refunded me one of the nights. Stayed here while I was attending a workshop at my job. Upon check in, there was a notice that the water would be out the next day from 10-4. Not thrilled about this because it is a hotel and a hotel should have running water but I wasn't going to be in the room so didn't really matter. When I got back to my room around 4:45, water was still out and my room had not been cleaned. When I went to front desk, was told that water just came back on but that we wouldn't have hot water until "soon". When I asked why my room had not been cleaned I was told that "well they were busy...they had a ton of check outs and maybe someone called in sick" Really? That's how you respond to a guest paying $200 a night? Then she says "I'll make a note that you want your room cleaned early" I said not early just before 4:30 in the afternoon! The next day got another notice that the water would again be out for a few hours. Whatever. Then I get back to my room around 6pm and the room is 76 degrees (I had it set to 68). I call the front desk and they tell me that there is a sensor and it knows when I'm not there and so it doesn't turn on. What..so guests should come to a hot room? So I insisted they send up the maintenance guy who comes promptly and tells me that all the rooms had no AC due to the water being turned off. He fixes it and within 20 minutes the room is cooler. So I guess they just wait till guests call and complain before fixing the problem? Anyway...second morning the hair dryer broke and I had to go to work with a wet head. Not the end of the world but certainly the cherry on top of this crap cake. None of these things were earth shattering but if you may more than 100 a night, you expect a little more. I won't be staying here again. I usually use Hilton and figured I'd try a different chain. I guess I'll go back to Hilton next time I have to visit Long Island. read more

This hotel was surprisingly clean....but here goes Pros: thank the good Lord for laundry facility on site! That is a convenience that i love in hotels. Saves me from going to the laundromat and mingling with some of the welfare Barbies that sometimes go there. Rooms are clean, staff remembered my name (although like one of the previous posters, I happen to lock myself out and or have my cards mysteriously demagnetized way too often, so that's probably why they remembered me). Adequate parking! I can actually park my car with no trouble, neither because of lack of parking nor because the spaces are too small. If you choose not to have room service (which I don't, my room is not a free market) the maids leave a cute bag of towels and such hanging from your doorknob. Cons: There is a party here every night! And they can't seem to keep it down! I heard the 7th floor party all the way down on my 3rd floor! I mean, really? Some of us are here to work, not give our liver and ears a run for their money. Not only that, but the rooms as well. My last night here and there must've been a party in half the rooms on my floor (although I'm pretty sure one was blasting their music to mask other noises, which wasn't working. I hope they used protection). My air conditioning unit started rattling. Very loudly. Except when they called maintenance, of course it stopped rattling the minute the dude walked in. A few days of quiet, then the skeleton who lives in the air conditioning unit started getting jiggy with it again. Good thing he didn't hear the maintenance dude come in, because they sure fixed his sorry butt real quick. Didn't have a problem again with Mr. Rattles, but I'm left to wonder why they didn't take a look the first time around so to prevent another phone call while I'm sleeping and being rudely awoken with loud noises. And my last con deals with asking for directions to a staple in NYC, the great Chinatown. You would figure working in the hospitality industry one might now the basics to help tourists out, such as where to get the train (a staple in this state) and how to get to typical places, such as Ms. Liberty, Chinatown, etc. I might as well have asked for directions to Sri Lanka, he would probably have been more helpful with that. Or asked for the mailing address of the ruler of Zimbabwe. I find it a bit asinine the gentleman wasn't able to point me in a good direction for something practically in his backyard. O well. All in all though a good stay. Can't say the same for the island though. Nothing to do and overall rude inhabitants. Needs to go the way of Atlantis, but that's just me. read more

Great location and close to airport. Rooms were clean and staff was amazing. I warn you dont light a candle or incense cause the smoke detector is extremely sensitive. My wife and i have stayed here before..Its a lil more worn in places now but the price was perfect for a day away....Lobby is nicely appointed but one look up and you can see the old leaks in the ceiling...Its in need of a facelift however for the most part ,the room was clean and comfy although there are small issues such as the shower /no soap tray and small fridge ....We had a major issue with a loud room of guests across the hall....This is an issue it seems whether at a restaurant or hotel more times than not....3 women and children who were allowed to just scream endlessly where they could be heard all the way down the hall as clear as near their room...More attention needs to be made by hostesses when taking reservation to whom and where they place people.....The ladies at the desk,however were very sweet and accomodating....Thank You !...on another note...if your a coffee lover after a meal...take a ride throughout the area to locate a dunkin donuts ....you'll regret it if you try in the dark.......Nice kitchen and bistro staff also! read more

I had the worst experience here. I booked a hotel suite 2 months in advance for my wedding and was lied to by the manager and staff. I stay there on a Friday night in a regular room went to my wedding during the day, and when I went to check in to my suite on a Saturday night I was told my room wasn't available for me. What is the point of making a reservation if it's not going to be kept. I was also told by one staff member that my strawberry package was put into my suite and then for the manager to lie to me and tell me the suite wasn't available baffles my mind.
