Run down room. Soiled carpet. Cracked sink in bathroom. Dirty corners of bathroom floor.Noisy A/C. Not a pleasant experience

It's been awhile since I stayed there and I left a negative review on their website and I noticed they pulled it down so I'll just leave the basic issue The room was filthy especially the bathroom and the sad part is they had not been opened long. I would not recommend staying there they have places on the beach that actually clean the bathrooms. Nastiest room I ever had and I'm over 60. read more

Stayed four nights. Outstanding property; worth the little extra $$ for so much more. Staff is so friendly!

This is a good hotel for the location. We only stayed one night due to the cons listed below. First the Pros: good clean room, clean bathroom, nice spacious bathroom, staff and other people staying seem friendly. Cons: When my wife booked she was told that we could have a beach side view and they served continental breakfast. After we checked in we found out that there is obstruction for a view of the beach and in the morning we found out that it is al la cart for breakfast. $12.00 for two bowls of fruit loops and a yogurt. Not all the plugs in the room worked either. Overall a good stay, biggest issue is staff that book rooms either are not informed or do not care about requests enough to check. I did speak with the front desk but they deemed it not important enough to speak with management and said "have a good day." If I stay here again I at least know the expectation. read more

Really great hotel. Close to the beach and everything on A1a. Was able to sit downstairs in the common room and finish some work I needed to do. The people staying there as well as working there were all very friendly. Tons of parking!! Very new on the inside and very comfortable and spacious. read more

For the Labor Day weekend I called the hotel before making any reservations considering the restrictions due to COVID19. I also made the reservation through the hotel's website. The answer received by phone was: The use of the gym is not allowed and there is no restaurant service in the room. Social distance and mask are required. That was it. What is my surprise that when I checked in, the lady handed me along with the keys, a paper where it was written that "For hygiene and safety reasons" no CLEANING SERVICE of rooms was going to be provided at all during my days of stay. . So I had to clean my own toilette and bathroom, throw out the trash for the bathroom and the room, and look for trash bags in the front office. Make my own bed and look for sheets and towels at the front desk. The bags with all the garbage were in sitting at front of the doors waiting to bring them down to throw them away. Of course, that information is provided to the customer when it is too late to cancel the reservation. And the cost per night was $ 200.00. Full price for 10% of service. So my question is, is this a treacherous way of catching clients? For a chain like MARRIOTT? Unacceptable! When sending an email to customer service with the complain, the response was "we are very sorry for your bad experience". Really? read more

The rooms are super clean and as a person who is super sensitive to smells I would notice. The front desk people are super nice- even when I witnessed two GRUMPY patrons giving the rep a hard time she remained completely professional and friendly. The housekeeping staff could be more pleasant.. I didn't feel welcome when encountering the tall woman in the hallway a few times. Now, the lobby and the bistro. Loved it! The Bistro manager was out in full force making sure people were happy and that the staff had what they needed. I'm impressed with this gentleman! I wish I caught his name today! The food was petty decent too. I had the Starbucks coffee and a frittata. The sitting area is pretty cool and spacious and they have tons of seating. And for the location- they have a defect location across from the beach near a few restaurants. The place is great and the staff make it even more special! **I NEED to add to this review... I've been in and out of the hotel all day. The same manager ensuring that the breakfast service went well has been visibly working on the place ALL DAY. Amazing. It's nice to see the manager out fixing and working on the place to keep it at its best! Hats off to you Marriott. Keep this guy! read more

Great location by the beach. Even took a nice sunrise beach run. However, almost every towel in this place is dirty or stained and same with the pillow cases. Will return here for work trips, but this hotel is too new and needs to clean up! read more

I try to stay at Marriott properties when I travel for their rewards program. Stayed here one night as I visited St. Augustine for a fun/relaxing weekend. I had a very comfortable stay overall. TV was pre-loaded with Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube which was a first for me in a hotel setting (need to provide your own account information). One small gripe I had was that there was no complementary breakfast - not necessarily a dealbreaker for me but sort of a 'nice-to-have.' Overall, would stay again. Very nice pool, also. read more

Made a reservation for my daughter (who is 18) through the Marriott Bonvoy system, spoke with customer service and was assured that wasn't a problem. She was refused service by the hotel. General manager was rude and extremely unhelpful - didn't seem remotely concerned that a young woman who was hundreds of miles from home wouldn't have a place to stay. The room was quiet and very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Best part; the Starbucks. Right before this we stayed at another Marriot and they did a very generous continental breakfast so that would have been nice here too. Nothing fancy but its definitely convenient when you're traveling with a small child. Everything else I was happy with. read more

Great location for beach ambience. Beach entry was across street, short block walk, and climb over the sand dune. Not bad, it no views (at least for our room location). Hotel was new, clean and sparkling. Breakfast was not included but good choice across street. Easy access to St. Augustine. read more

We stayed at the Courtyard for my 51st. birthday, it was outstanding, the rooms are very nicely designed, they are modern and comfortable. the facility is clean and the pool area is very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay. It is located less than 50 yards from the beach and is near many good places to eat. There is a café in the lobby, we did not eat there but the food smelled delicious. read more

We have stayed here on 2 separate occasions and throughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel is fantastically located, only a 5 minute walk from the beach! The rooms are very comfortable and clean, and have a connected TV where you can sign into Netflix, YouTube... The hotel has a lovely pool, which we enjoyed very much after a day at the beach! The hotel offers breakfast (Starbucks) and a bistrot and has extremely friendly and helpful staff! read more

Location is great, but the King Bed room we have is extremely cramped. We are also shocked at the size if the pool. Too small for a vacation spot. No rooms with balconies or windows that open. No access to the pool from any room on ground floor. The Bistro seemed to be poorly run. I am not sure who owns this franchise but they really cut corners...shame on Marriott.. read more

Being a senior in college you want your last spring break your best, right? Well I did so I booked this hotel near the beach at least 3 months before the date & let the young ladies know at reservations that we would be arriving around 12:00am due to our work schedules, I was told that was fine. Get to our hotel the young lady st check-in was very promising & none of those promises were kept. We a group of 3 young ladies were told our room was taken because it was first come first serve! Why have reservations if you switch up a policy that we were never called about. They ended up putting us in a king room which was too small so the first night here was hell. After the promises from the lady that night we were told we would get our money refunded & he put in a queen extended room... well that morning we went down to Melissa the manager informed her as to what was going on & none of those promises were kept. We moved right across in a standard queen with only $100 off for the first night. I will never stay here again the miscommunication & lack of management is frustrating & very unprofessional. I called and spoke with Melissa the assistant manager , and with short notice she made sure our weekend beach getaway was absolutely perfect. From check in, to check out everything was fantastic. This Marriott property is directly across from the ocean and just a 3-5 min walk to the main St. Augustine fishing pier, with beautiful views of the beach and ocean. Just about a 15 minute drive to Historic St Augustine. I highly recommend this location and hotel. read more

Nice rooms comfortable beds. The elevators were either not working or not working well I suggest picking the 1st or second floor and use the stairwells. The whole lobby and commons constantly smelled like burned food oil especially in the morning hours. I can only assume since they have a back kitchen the ventilation was not working. I have to say I was deeply disappointed with my stay at the courtyard Marriott St. Augustine beach. We checked in at 3pm for a two day stay. Being elite members, we tend to stay at Marriott hotels because they usually have excellent service and we travel frequently for both work and pleasure and having been booking blocks of rooms for work functions for years. When we checked in we requested a pack and play and we were told one would sent up and headed up to our room. Upon arriving inside our room we discovered that there no towels in the bathroom to get cleaned up with. So, we headed out to dinner with the expectation towels and the crib would be in our room when we return. Unfortunately that was not the case, and we were given some excuse about cribs not being guaranteed (even though we were told one would be sent up) and they could do nothing else about it. We asked the front desk to send up extra bedding so my husband could sleep on the floor with the baby, the blankets never arrived. So we ended up having to have the baby sleep in the bed, which we didn't want to do for safety reasons. The following morning we got up, requested housekeeping to come in after our departure only to be disappointed once again when we returned. House keeping did not empty out our garbage, we did not receive fresh towels - so we had to reuse our wet ones. Again we told the people at the hostess desk what was happening and they claimed to be very busy using the holiday as a reason for why they were lacking in performance. They did send up a crib, without bedding so my husband called down around 8pm requesting blankets. when they didn't arrive after 15 minutes he went downstairs and literally waited 10 minutes at the desk for someone to physically hand him blankets. You would think at this point that they would notice we were having a miserable visit and should have made an effort to accommodate or sooth us. When we checked out of the hotel, and honestly speaking we almost left on our first night, we told the concierge how we were disappointed in our stay, to only have it thrown in our face that we used hotel points to cover the cost of the stay so "oh well" with a shrug was the response we received. We even stated, "no offense" when we told them we won't be staying there again. I can't believe the audacity of the hotel staff to make it seem like our stay was free. We spend a lot of money staying in Marriott hotels throughout the year to only be treated like garbage on this visit. They need to get it together and reimburse us for stay, like any decent company would do when concerned about customer service and visit experience. I wouldn't even be writing this review had we just been asked if there is something they could have done to make up for their lack of quality of service. We usually stay at the casa Monica in downtown St Augustine but we decided to go to this location instead so we could extend our family vacation to a two day visit instead of one. I was so upset when we left I couldn't even waste one more minute there, what a disappointment. read more

I've been staying here for several weeks and the first time I leave my phone charger in the room it's stolen. In addition, they didn't bother cleaning, they simply through some towels on the ground and left. It's funny because that's the first time (and only time) I've left anything in the room. I hope others don't have this experience. Otherwise it's a good hotel. read more
