Me and my family stayed in this hotel for the spring break weekend from Saturday through Wednesday. My wife did everything on mine so we didn't even have to check in. We got to our room and she opened the door with her phone. The room was clean and organized, and the bathroom was clean enough towels, and the hotel was decent. The only recommendation I could do for people that have their vehicles as to try to get to the hotel early since you could have a hard time finding a parking space if you arrive late. Other than that, the staff was great they had breakfast every morning. It was not all that, but it did the job. I use the gym and the gym was pretty clean and I have the machines to do the job. Stayed for 3 nights while attending golf school. Facility is clean and well maintained. Suites are roomy for 2 people. Staff is hit or miss, some are friendly and go out of their way but for others it seemed to be an inconvenience. Breakfast buffet was exceptionally good. Originally, I wanted to rate this hotel a lot lower due to our check-in issue, however, there were some things that made me change my mind. Let's start with the beginning. We arrived at 3am(ish) after an 11 hour drive from NC. We were eager to check-in and hit our heads on the pillow. We went to the doors and saw that they were locked. We pushed the call button numerous times. We were outside for maybe 5 minutes pressing the call button. Thank goodness someone was outside smoking and let us in with his key card. When we got to the desk, there was a sign saying that the receptionist was away attending to a guest and would be back. After 15 minutes of waiting, I realized that something wasn't right. I called the front desk, hoping that the receptionist would have a phone on them. It rang and rang. While calling, I paced around the lobby, looking for somebody. It had now been 20 minutes of trying to get a hold of someone. My husband contacted Hotels where we booked our stay while I went to the manager's office and saw that the door was propped open and the light was on. I called out "hello" a few times, no answer. 35 minutes later, the receptionist tiredly comes out from another door, who was clearly asleep in that room. She didn't say hello or greet us, didn't ask who we were, nothing. After she finally remembered her password to the computer, I told her we had a reservation to which she had told us that she cancelled our reservation and marked it as a no-show at 2am. If it weren't for Hotels saying that 6am was the late check-in time, we wouldn't have been able to get our room back. We go on so many roadtrips and this was the first time ever that a hotel cancelled because we were arriving late. She gave us our keycards, couldn't remember the breakfast times, and sent us on our way. No checking ID, nothing. Our room was overall clean and the bed was comfy. There were only three pillows and there was a big stain on the carpet, otherwise, everything else was great! We loved that there was a microwave, dishwasher, sink, coffee maker, and a full size fridge and freezer in the room. It had everything we needed if we were staying for a long time: utensils, paper towels, dish soap and a sponge, plates and bowls, cooking tools, and cups. The bathroom was fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion, face wash, and makeup removing wipes. A big thing that I loved was that the AC went down to 68 degrees when most hotels lock the AC at 72, so this was a nice touch. Parking is okay, it is safe, but there are utility trucks and campers that park here which take up spots. There are also a few parking spots for electric vehicles to charge. We didn't have breakfast during our two day stay but I did appreciate that there was always tea and hot chocolate packets out in the lobby for visitors. If you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of grassy areas to take your dog out. The staff here are very unwelcoming. Not a single staff member, including the manager training two employees at the desk, looked at us, smiled, or said a single word to us. We were completely ignored the entire trip. Not even eye contact. Checkout was easy and this is where my rating became higher. The receptionist that tiredly checked us in after her nap was the same person to check us out. Normally, I say something out of honesty but due to so much negligence from this place, I decided to keep my mouth shut. She did not charge us the $75 pet fee when we left. For the time and stress spent waiting to be checked in, I thought this was well deserved. I will never ever stay here again. read more

This was our first stay at this hotel brand. We stayed for only one night and found it to be very comfortable and a good value for the price. The room had a sofa bed which is great for watching tv or reading. I don't know how comfortable the sofa bed is as we did not use the bed part of it. The tv offers some free channels with shows and movies and also supports streaming of Netflix and other channels. The king bed was very comfortable, my back did not feel stiff when I woke up in the morning. The full -size fridge and kitchen are very nice and there's also a dishwasher. There is a microwave and no stove or hotplate. The shower was easy to get into and had large pumps of shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles attached to the wall. I would suggest adding a non slip mat to the shower floor. The room had dual a/c thermostats one for each side of the room. The breakfast was abundant with fresh waffle makers, scrambled or disc eggs, bacon, breads and bagels, fresh fruit, on tap juices, coffee bar, fresh oatmeal and cereal with yogurt. It's is all you can eat and you can also take it up to your room. We used the gym right after breakfast. We had no problem having to wait to use any of the machines. They included free weights ( dumbbells from 5-75lbs.), two bikes, 3 treadmills, band weights, medicine balls and a few others. There's also a tv in the gym to watch while you work out. Within the gym, there is a laundry room with coin laundry for $3.50 a load. So you can actually do your laundry while you use the gym. The parking at this location is free and ample. We found it very convenient as they have 3 Tesla chargers that are free for guests. They are not superchargers, they are the slow chargers. We were able to park the car and charge it overnight at no additional cost which saved us about $10-$15. The staff were friendly and attentive. We called to ask for an additional blanket and a pillowcase and we're asked to go to the front desk to pick them up. I guess they didn't have enough staff to bring it to our room. The only extra bedding in the room was a pillow with no pillowcase. This was odd as there's a sofa bed in the room. I suggest to add a couple of throw pillows and a throw/ blanket for the couch to make it more comfortable to watch tv or read. This was a positive experience for us and we plan to stay at this brand of hotel again. read more

This location is extremely convenient in the fact that it is just off of Interstate 95 and is close to the outlets and not far from the tourist part of Saint Augustine, Florida. I was here for business in Jacksonville and prefer to stay in Saint Augustine simply because I enjoy the Ancient City. The staff here was friendly, helpful, and professional and helped make my overall stay definitely a positive experience. I would definitely recommend this particular hotel. read more

Room was spotless, pool area was nice. Breakfast was tasty. However, the staff was beyond amazing. I stayed with my autistic son Aug 3 through the 9th. The entire staff took the time to make small talk with my little dude. Everyone from the 2 women who made the breakfast during our stay to all the people who work the front desk. Two of the desk workers took the time to look at the painting my son did with dolphins and told him how cool it was. I request to be at least a few doors away from the elevator because the smallest noise wakes up my son. They went above and beyond and put us in an end room as far from the elevators as we could be. The entire staff made for a great stay for us. When we come down again, we will not be looking at other hotels, they have our business. read more

Perfect for a family with pets. This isn't a glamorous hotel but the rooms are large and equipped. The front desk Terry and Patrica went above and beyond. They both have an incredibly great attitude and were extremely helpful. We're glad we decided to come here. read more

This turned out to be an unexpected but beautiful stay in St Augustine. Our original hotel of choice was overbooked as it seems to be one of their high seasons. This location accommodated us on short notice. The staff members were polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and offered the perfect size with amenities like a refrigerator and kitchenette for a small family. I was worried when I found out that this was a pet friendly establishment however you could hardly tell aside from the fact that a few people were walking around with their pets. I was worried that we'd have to try and find somewhere else to stay, thinking that the room would have the smell of pet hair? But their cleaning staff was very efficient. Asked for a room with a king sized bed. Got charged almost $200 which we thought was extreme, but we were tired after traveling all day. Get to the room and it is a full suite. Complete with a full refrigerator and dishwasher. We did not ask for a suite nor were we told it was a suite. No Tissues (box was empty), not a huge issue. But at this price, I would expect to at least get some sleep. Nope. The bed was rock hard and felt like springs were hitting our hips. I stayed at one if these hotels in williamsville ny. It was a horrendous experience there. I pulled the covers down and the bed was not made. Hairs on the sheets. And when I tried to pull the fitted sheet up to make the bed, my fingers got stuck on something yellow. I could go on, but you get the jist. read more

This hotel was just what our family of 5 needed. The staff was courteous, the room was supper clean, and the beds were very comfortable; even the pullout sofa bed was very plush and comfortable. I only stay Hilton brand. I like to save my points to stay Hilton because I enjoy it. This is one of the worse I have stayed at. I came to Saint Augustine for a conference and convinced all my coworkers to stay here telling them most Home2Suites was exactly the same. I walk to my room and it smells terrible. For the 3 nights I stayed they were shampooing my floor and it smelled like mildew on the entire floor. First night I hopped in the shower and the handle to turn on the water fell off and both the soaps were empty. It took me a minute but I was able to grasp it with my fingers the turn the heat down. I called asking for some one to fix and they said tomorrow while I was gone. Decided to hop to bed with the tv not working and realized the cable was not connected. Came to the hotel the next day after work and needed to shower fast to make it to the dinner for the conference and the shower was not fixed. Called and they said they would fix it so I took a shower in my buddies room. Next day went to the conference came back and still not fixed. Finally I walked down there with the handle and stood there until someone fixed it. Funny enough there was a big sign next to me that said satisfaction or your night is on us. After speaking to the manager she said sorry and got it fixed. No offer on compensation or anything. Just like it never happened. Please do not stay at this hotel. Thank you. read more

Well, after calling Southern Oaks and The Smart Stay Inn- they both hung up on him btw- He called the Hilton home 2 suites. The young man had told him he had a clean king sized suite that is also pet friendly. Never ever stay at Home2 Suites in St. Augustine, FL. A stay that should have cost 1,248 dollars ended up costing us 2,618 dollars. All because "their system was down" I'm still trying to get my money back almost a month later. Not to mention the service is not the best there! We first arrived to a dirty room so we informed the front desk receptionist. We stood there and listened to her contact a head house keeper over a walkie talkie, and the house keeper responded in a negative way about us. The receptionist had to turn her walkie talkie down so we couldn't hear anymore. Our next room we still had to wipe down ourselves because it was not clean either.
