If I could rate zero stars I would. My husband and I checked in for 4 nights with an ocean view room. The ocean view was a joke as you had to literally lean over the railing to see the ocean. Checking in the lobby was clean and valet was accommodating. Unfortunately that's the extent of good things I have to say about this hotel. Walking in the room had a musty smell. The bathroom was dirty with random hairs all over. There was no dresser or any way to put your clothing away except the 4 hangers. We called guest services and they said they would bring a dresser up. What they brought was a nightstand that looked like it was bought off Temu. After going back down to the front desk we were told that there are no rooms with any dressers and we could not get any additional hangers. Furniture was in bad condition and definitely not worth the price they were charging. The room was not cheap, but it felt as if we were staying in a Motel 6. read more

We came here for a staycation for our anniversary. We've always driven by it, but have never been inside, so I was excited when my husband said he booked us a night there. From the outside facing the street, it looks like a pretty typical hotel, but once you get in, you feel like you're transported to more of a swanky beach hotel. First, not a huge fan of having to pay $42 to valet your car (there are no other parking options). When we arrived inside, we were able to check-in virtually, so we headed up to our room. When we arrived to our room, I was pretty impressed iwth the size of the room. They had a little kitchnette (small beverage fridge) and table, plus a sitting room with chairs and a couch, and luckily we scored a beach view room. The bedroom was spacious, but will say the pillows were totally flat. I'm talking almost paper thin, but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a tub and large vanity. When you go onto the grounds, they have a large pool with lounge chairs facing the beach. Prior to the pool there are rocking chairs and couches and fire pits, which were great. It was my first time here and I was very impressed. So clean and well decorated. They still had all their Christmas decorations up and it was so cute with all the snowmen, reindeer and candy canes. Located right on the St. Augustine beach you can walk out of your room and literally have your toes in the sand in a matter of steps. lol. And if you're here in the winter months don't worry about the cold. They have one of the biggest outdoor heated pools I've ever seen. I love how, at Embassy Suites you get a free full breakfast with about everything you can think of including an omelette station and a free happy hour. Oh, and the Starbucks in the lobby was a big win for me. lol All this and paired with an excellent staff, nice well kept room, everyone smiling ready to help and pet friendly makes this a complete and comeback hotel. read more

The hotel was a pleasant surprise! Beautiful pool, friendly staff from valet, check-in, servers by the pool! Umbrellas and little tables by lounge chairs by pool and on the beach at no extra charge. Towels handed to you when you entered the pool area. If you arrived before room was ready valet moved your car with luggage and then brought it up when room was ready. You were still able to use amenities pool, pool bar and restaurant, chairs etc. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and breakfast was above and beyond with buffet eggs, bacon, French toast , cereal, juices, coffee, soda fountain, omelette station and plenty of seating with high-tops, booths, outside patio tables and seats at the bar. This is my new favorite spot! It was not cheap $400+$. But, king bed with pull out sofa, refrigerator, convenient ice machine on our floor. The ONLY thing that could have made this experience any better is if in the future they have a pool "sectioned off" for adults only. Too many parents allowed floats and foam floats tube-like, allowing children to splash and jump in pool right beside adults relaxing in pool. Oh and just one more thing, Angel Soft 1 ply toilet paper, ugh.....is something I wouldn't cut the budget on--2-ply toilet paper is a MUST in any hotel that charges more than $300-$400 a night! Castaway Cantina - St. Augustine If you're looking for a laid-back spot with great food and beachy vibes, Castaway Cantina is a hidden gem tucked inside the Embassy Suites in St. Augustine. The place serves up a Latin-inspired menu featuring fresh ceviche, crisp ensaladas, hearty tortas, and of course, tacos that are hard to resist. They even have a grilled Beachside Burger if you're craving something a little more classic. The setting couldn't be better -- you get ocean views, a cool breeze, and you're right next to their sprawling pool. It's the perfect place to relax and soak it all in. I tried the margarita (highly recommend!) along with the shrimp tacos and vegetarian tacos. Honestly, the vegetarian tacos were so flavorful, I almost forgot they were meatless. They really nailed it. They also offer steak tacos and a few other options if you're in the mood for something heartier. The Cantina has a full bar with plenty of drink choices, and you definitely can't go wrong with their happy hour -- great deals and a perfect excuse to linger a little longer by the pool. Stayed here last weekend for a wedding. The hotel itself and the wedding were gorgeous but the service left much to be desired. To start, the hallways all smelled like sewage on the third floor. Also, they never came to clean our room and there was only 1 towel. I also tried to call the front desk from my room phone and cell phone and never was able to get an answer. Additionally, I was getting ready in the bridal suite with my friend, and we asked if they could bring more towels, cups and water, None ever came. I was really disappointed by my recent stay at Embassy Suites St. Augustine. I specifically chose Hilton for an important trip--one where communication and service were truly needed. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas: 1. Communication Failures (Before and During Stay): Before arrival, I needed to coordinate sending items to the hotel in preparation for an event. Corporate Hilton advised me to call the property directly--but no one ever answered. Once I checked in, the issues were even worse. Phone calls from my room were never answered, and by the second day, the room phone was disconnected entirely. Every request--towels, silverware, wake-up calls--was something I had to physically go to the front desk for. 2. Valet Service Didn't Work: The texting valet system never worked. All car requests were done in person, which led to delays and made me get on the road late. 3. Subpar Customer Service: On my first night, I was told to get my own silverware from the kitchen--and when I asked where it was, I was met with attitude. I understand what it's like to be understaffed and overworked, but that doesn't excuse a lack of basic hospitality. Expectations were simply not met. 4. Not Suited for Business or Quiet Stays: The hotel was very loud and filled with children. It's clearly family-oriented, which is fine, but not ideal for solo travelers or business trips where peace and quiet were needed. 5. Disappointing Follow-Up: I had booked the most expensive suite and expected some level of accountability or gesture of goodwill. After submitting my concerns, a manager eventually responded--but there was no apology, no offer to make it right, and no compensation. For a high-tier stay, that just isn't acceptable. To start, I am an Embassy Suites fan... But this place was disppointing for the 2nd time that my wife & I stayed there. The maintenance is lacking in a big way (Rusted & chipped tubs, broken USB outlets by the bed, electrtical outlets wagging all over the place, and just an overall poor layout of the room.) We had 2 queens and the TV was in front of one bed, and the other bed was off at a crazy angle... The TV also was very dark so it was hard to see the plays of the NFL playoff game and the TV could not be adjusted. Breakfast was somewhat okay but I ordered a Western omlett and the onions and peppers were uncooked and the whole thing was poorly done. There is a mandatory valet parking which is also expensive and the entire experience left me feeling ripped off. I won't be back. read more

Well what can I say. This place is amazing in every way. They have for the drinkers at least the last time I was their free drinks certain ones from 6-7pm. They help you with finding attractions. My husband and I take an annual trip for Memorial Day Weekend to St. Augustine Beach with our dog, Stella. Since starting this tradition, we have stayed at multiple places Beach side and this was by far one of our favorites. When we pulled up, we were greeted with the kindest valet staff who quickly helped get us unpacked and our car parked. We checked in a little early, which was nice, because our room was ready and available for us. We were a little upset because we requested and paid for an ocean view, but we were given a partial ocean view. Initially, the frustration set in but when we got into the actual room, it was more like an apartment than a hotel room so it worked out. We unpacked and quickly headed down to the beach with our pup. The biggest challenge, for us, was Beach access. They were doing construction on the beach so we had to walk a little ways before finding out spot. The other thing is we brought a beach wagon with us and you have to go up and down stairs to get to the beach, which was difficult for us to do. The pool area was nice and clean. We spent some time at the pool on the second day enjoying an afternoon snack and drink there. To our surprise, when we checked out, we were double charged for things that we did not order, but the staff took care of those expenses. We ate the continental breakfast and complimentary happy hour, which was really a nice addition to have in the hotel. We definitely will be back to this place! read more

We decided to stay at this beautiful beachfront hotel on St. Augustine Beach on July 4th. The check-in process was really easy and quick, even though we checked in early. Thankfully, our room was ready early. The room is very nice with a living room area and a bedroom, along with a balcony with a view of the beach. The bed is comfy. The lobby is beautiful with a beachy feel and plenty of comfortable seating. The outside area also has plenty of seating. The pool is big with plenty of chairs and a great view of the beach. They had free snow cones today at the pool. There is a free happy hour from 5-7 every day. The lobby also has a restaurant and a Starbucks, as well as a gift shop. There is also a fitness center. This hotel had everything we were looking for in terms of a vacation stay - great pool, on the beach (with easy access), complimentary breakfast and evening reception. Overall, everything was great, but there were some things that were misses. The room - ample size for a family of four. The beds were comfortable and we had a great balcony. The cons - there were no dressers - just one small closet. It made it hard to unpack and organize a family of 4 when you're on a long vacation there. A dresser would have made life a lot easier. We also didn't have shampoo/conditioner or anything like that until the last day of our stay. Facility - great pool, great beach access. You get complimentary towels during your stay, and 2 beach chairs. Then they nickel and dime you by charging $15 for an umbrella on the beach per day. Go to Walmart and buy yourself one to bring. Valet - this was the worst part. You have to do valet there at $35 a day. Now, the valets are nice and you have in/out access, but it was super steep when you have no other parking options. They also don't clearly disclose this on their website when booking, which is also frustrating. My wife and I did a little weekend getaway to St Augustine. We stayed at the Embassy Suites on the beach and we had the best time! The hotel was beautiful, rooms were big, the beach was under construction but still enough space to lay out or go for a stroll along the water. Our favorite part of the day was laying by the pool, overlooking the ocean. We also really enjoyed the Castaway Cantina. Poolside you could order food and drinks. Hotel lobby was really nice but other issues. First of all for a large hotel there were only 3 elevators, which seems fine but only one was working. When inquired about it being fixed, I was told they were working on it. Unfortunately when speaking to other guest that were there for a week, they were told the same thing. So this elevator issue seemed to be going on for quite some time. Next our room which was nice, but the toilet would not flush unless you help the handle down for 10 seconds or so. We decided to stay 2 nights at the Embassy Suites St Augustine Beach on our way back north. What a beautiful resort. Checking in was a breeze, we had chosen our room on the Hilton app. We booked our room with a partial ocean view, overlooking the sea turtle preserve. Nobody can build on that land. The view was spectacular. It is also the side for the locals to get access to the beach. Dog friendly hotel, that side was pet relief area. We loved our room! We got a kick seeing all the pet parents and families, especially dogs in pajamas. Cracked us up. The lobby was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The lounge area has lots of couches and chairs to sit and relax. The nightly reception is complimentary; you receive 2 drink tickets for each adult and there is a dedicated snack area. I got red wine, and my husband paid for his Heineken beer. Harvest & Reel restaurant is large, food was great, and the service was also great. Complimentary morning breakfast, they set up tables with everything associated with a buffet meal. The offerings were quite good. The hotel has a spot in front of the hotel at the beach for people who want to take pictures of sunrise, and it is by the pool. Huge area, pool, chairs, lounges, umbrellas, restaurant, and bar. You have to valet park, and the price is $40.00 per day. The valets were very organized, and my husband came in after a couple of minutes, when we checked out, he texted the valet, we didn't have to wait too long to get our car. The resort has a beautiful upscale vibe, but it is comfortable too. They have a Starbucks on site. My husband bought a whole bean bag, and had the barista grind it for him. All in all, we loved the property and will be back next year. read more

After many stays here we sadly will not be back. Between last year and this year they've implemented a lot of changes and they aren't for the best. Handicap parking is no longer free with valet...ok that's fine no big deal. There's a new pool towel policy that requires a card and if you don't get your card back you're charged $25 per towel at checkout. The cushions out in the lounge area on the patio are so flat. We couldn't even enjoy the outdoor seating because it was so uncomfortable. While dining in the restaurant, one of the cooks as playing with finger boards where they serve the food. Completely unsanitary and unprofessional when I'm there spending thousands on my stay. I even overheard a couple employees complaining about their very own staff and how overworked they are and other shifts not pulling their weight. Honestly, it shows. It reflects on our stay. There needs to be a change in management because what's going on is really unacceptable. Valet didn't help with unloading my luggage like they did before, mind you I'm disabled. There was one person working valet so I couldn't even ask for help because he was out getting cars to other people. Honestly the entire last stay was just chaos. I'll be finding a new location in St Augustine to stay at from here on out since I'm a frequent visitor. read more

We had a great experience there. Hotel was beautiful and immaculate. Despite hotel being fully booked and tons of people arriving and checking out at same time the valet ran flawlessly and was super fast to get car ...the front desk people we all dealt with were great. Hotel clean and comfy. We had so much in our room for wedding that we preferred no housekeeping the nights we were there and just asked housekeeping for fresh towels. For the wedding, we planned it for a year, and Sierra, the event coordinator was invaluable helping us plan and nail down specifics and then when event got close worked with our wedding Coordinator and vendors and everything went flawlessly with no stress. The lawn overlooking the beach is stunning and I highly recommend for any outdoor event as it is stunning. We had rain right before ceremony and they redirected guests and kept everyone dry and then dried the seats as soon as storm passed and then directed everyone back and wedding went off without a hitch. The reception had to be moved from outdoor to indoor because of rain possibility and that morning Sierra and the coordinator moved all the plans from outside into the ballroom and it was incredible. Everything was handled and we had nothing to do but to enjoy ourselves. Definitely recommend for events. The hotel has tons of outdoor communal spaces including hot tub and huge pool overlooking beach and ocean, pool bar huge activity lawn as well as another turf area overlooking beach. Also many outdoor fire pits with sitting areas, and indoor living room setups for hanging out and talking and another bar and huge breakfast area and a ballroom. read more

Amazing! The restaurant serves 5 Star dinners in an elegant bar/dining setting. I got the Squid Ink Pasta with Shrimp and it was delectable! Also had my first Old Fashioned with a fresh orange peel and cherries. The pool is larger than Olympic size and the hot tub is quite large and very clean and inviting. The palm trees surrounding the courtyard and pool gives a nice tropical feel, and the individual fire pit seating areas add a unique evening ambiance. The service is also top notch and everyone was very helpful and kind. The bar tender remembered addressed me by name my second return which was pretty surprising! Not because he remembered me, but because I noticed that he greeted everyone by their surnames. The suite was very clean and the bedding was quite cozy! The Valet staff were also very pleasant and quick to get the car. I stayed for 9 nights and will certainly return again! read more

Every morning they were working right below our balcony with a huge generator and we were unable to enjoy our coffee on the balcony. I booked an ocean view room and they gave us a PARTIAL view of the ocean. There were so many kids making noise in the grassy courtyard we were unable to enjoy the ocean air with our sliders open. The bathroom shower needed attention as there aren't any towel bars and the shower caddy was coming off of the wall. Very noisy hotel and NOT worth the price. We enjoyed our hotel stay for a fun weekend. The staff was courteous, the room was clean and the room was spacious. The hotel.offers a breakfast buffet which included scrambked eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, toast, oatmeal, fruit, bagels, and you can have an omelet made to order. The hotel also. offers a happy hour for drinks. The outside patio was very spacious with heaters if needed. The beach area was hard to fully enjoy because of the waves and the huge rocks that were difficult to walk around but the small area betwen the rocks was enjoyable. I consider this hotel (nay, resort) a destination hotel - somewhere I would absolutely go out of my way to stay at again for a wonderful vacation. This Embassy Suites was the backdrop for my best friend's bachelorette party trip, and several of us agreed it was the best vacation ever, in no small part because of where we stayed! The pool: This was such a huge draw as we wanted a relaxing day to chill and read. The water was a rather warm temp, too warm to really cool you off, but not enough to be a problem. Plenty of towels and umbrellas; you can order food and drinks right to your chairs (three different frozen cocktail options, and a couple in non-alcoholic options). There were free activities throughout the day too, like a treasure hunt and snow cones. It felt luxurious and was exactly what we needed! The beach: Since this hotel is right on the water, you have unbeatable access especially to go shell searching in the early morning. Staff will bring chairs down to the shore for you to use as well. There is a fishing pier right nearby you can take a walk down ($3 each) and watch the surfers catch waves. Access to downtown: There is a trolley that comes right down the hotel strip on Anastasia Island pretty regularly. As long as you're not trying to make reservations urgently, this is a great local option, making it so you don't need to rent a car or get an Uber. The room: We didn't spend a ton of time in the room, but the beds were comfy and there was plenty of getting ready space. The kitchenette was a perfect plus. As other reviews have said, the pull out sofa was very uncomfortable and the bathroom door wasn't able to latch and was blurred glass which didn't stop the light when some folks got up at different times. The TV doesn't have airplay so we did have to pack an HDMI cord, but they said they are working on upgrading all of them to smart TVs. Bonuses: YOGA EVERY MORNING! The yoga was so picturesque right on the beach, it's included, and the instructors were amazing. This was a huge perk to us. They also have nice bikes you can borrow for a few hours! The oversized chess set seen in pictures online did not exist, but maybe because they're doing some upgrades to their shoreline (we saw them putting a lot of sod down in front of the pool area) while we were there. A cocktail at happy hour is also included every day as well as breakfast each morning. There is also a Starbucks in the building! Need I say more!? read more

I have been wanting so do a staycation at this resort since it was built, and I was so grateful to finally have the chance. I have been at the property several times, for private events, for dinner at Harvest + Reel, and for lunch at Castaway Cantina, but now it was time to enjoy the whole shebang. We reserved a king suite (one king-sized bed + one sleeper sofa) for a few nights last week, in order to be closer to some family staying at a different beach hotel. We didn't care much about the view from our room (it overlooked A1A and the front awning, which was fine). If you have not yet visited, the lobby, and property are gorgeous. Stunning. The rooms are standard Embassy Suites rooms with spacious bathroom, kitchenette and desk area. We did find the previous guest's forgotten ice cream in the fridge, but other than that the rooms were cleaned (and sealed with a sticker on the door jamb). Please note that housekeeping only comes upon request, so if you need new towels or a cleaning, please be prepared to call. We parked with valet and left our car for the duration of our two night stay. Rooms are a little on the pricey side, especially in season BUT (and this is huge BUT), the perks make up for it. First of all, service was top-notch. From valet, to front desk, to servers at the bars and restaurant, we were greeted with smiles and pleasant, friendly attitudes. The price includes a complimentary breakfast at Harvest & Reel - thanks to the pandemic, buffets are no longer really a thing, but Embassy Suites gets around this by setting up labeled chafing dishes, facing servers, and separated from guests by a plexiglass shield. The servers fill the plates on their sides (eggs, roasted potatoes, sausage, bacon, waffles or pancakes), and toast/bagels/english muffins) on their side, and then guests can grab their own condiments, or self serve from individually wrapped muffins, pastries, and cereal. The price also includes a complimentary happy hour at the lobby Rhum Bar. For two hours, guests enjoy beer, wine, and well drinks, as well as snacks (pre-covid, those snacks included things like wings and chips and salsa, but now they offer individual bags of pretzels, goldfish and chex mix). Also included are towels at the pool, bike rentals, and chairs and umbrellas on the beach, as well as lawn games on property. Best embassy suites I've stayed in by far and I've stayed in tons all around the nation. I'm not sure if it's recently renovated but the location, service, room for the price is highly recommended especially if you're traveling with young kids. Very spacious lobby area wijt multiple lounge areas and restaurants. Beautiful pool right on the beach and a Starbucks inside. The rooms are nice for families. We stayed at this resort hotel for a week while on vacation. We booked an oceanview room with a sizeable patio that overlooks the pool, the ocean, and the pier. Nothing like waking up to the sounds of the waves crashing or the view of the waves themselves! The lobby is unlike any other Embassy lobbies I've seen. It's more modern with bright decor but true to the Embassy Suites fashion, there were plenty of seating area for guests to longue. There is also a Starbucks onsite, a small office station with 3 computers and a printer/scanner combo, an onsite restaurant, an indoor bar, as well as a poolside bar. What more could you ask for? This hotel has valet parking. They do put it in your charges during booking so review your documentation carefully before finalizing your reservation. They staff were very nice and accommodating during check-in. They gave us a QR code for the restaurant menu so we would not need to touch physical menus. Everyone was following COVID protocols. The building is new so everything looks really nice. The suite we booked could have used some decor on the walls. Nevertheless, it was comfortable and clean. The fridge was super tiny... Probably something one would describe as a micro fridge. The microwave was small as well so don't plan on bringing any leftovers back for a midnight snack or they will go bad sitting out with no refrigeration. I'm not sure if it's just on our floor but every 5-10 minutes, there was a loud sound that caused my lack of sleep during the first night. It sounded like someone had slammed their door really hard, nothing for about 10 minutes and then again, that loud banging sound. We weren't sure what it was but my husband heard it, too and it woke him up at regular intervals all through the night as well. On our second day, we experienced some frustrating moments. After swimming in the pool, we decided to get back upstairs and get ready for dinner. That was when we discovered our keys no longer worked because they had updated their system. After going back down and up to our room again and about 4 unsuccessful tries without our keys working, I finally asked if they could escort us to our room to deal with the issue. We were told they had no one available to do so. Fortunately, someone working on the system's upgrade was in the elevator with us and overheard our frustrations. He then asked which room we were staying in and we found out that our room was missed during the upgrade. He walked us to our room and used his main key and gave us two new keys that actually worked. Overall, the hotel was nice. The breakfast was not the usual Embassy Suites rotating breakfast I've had at other locations not did they have the omelette bar. They served eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage and carb options daily. Still free breakfast though if you don't feel like going out and getting some. The beach pathways were nice and gave us the opportunity to walk straight from the hotel to the beach. Aside from the few complaints, we did enjoy our stay! read more

Spent the weekend at the hotel for a weekend getaway with my wife. Like the name says this is a resort hotel that is on the beach in St Augustine Beach. It is also located within walking distance to several restaurants. I can't say enough nice things about the hotel. The staff were polite and attentive to every request and concern. They also provide a lot of extras like water at the pool, events for the kids every two hours at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm (snow cones was hit with both adults and kids), and a nightly manager reception compete with drinks and limited appetizers (think nuts, crunchy mix's like trail mix, and cheese and crackers or hummus). Our room was a two room suite (one bedroom and one sitting area) that was well kept and clean. We did not utilize housekeeping during our short stay but when we asked for anything we needed (like extra towels) they were more than helpful. We spent all day Saturday at the pool and while it was busy because their beach access is closed for beach renovation there was still room for everyone. If you want to go to the beach, they will drive you to the beach and provide chairs (no umbrella). We were also able to order lunch at one of the restaurants via staff that walk around and take orders (you can pay via card or have it billed to your room). It was great to have a sandwich on the beach without having to go to your room or get dressed and go to a restaurant. Be careful what you order though, my wife and I got a turkey club with fries and a buffalo chicken wrap with fries for $18 each which we felt was fair but one of the apps chip's and guacamole for $15 and there was a $5 upcharge if you added queso or salsa so if you got all three dips it was $25 that felt a little steep. The only real complaint that I had is that they are doing some renovations to the sea wall for the hospital. The renovations the day we were at the beach was guys cutting and moving concrete with dust sailing into the pool deck. I asked the hotel staff about it and no one had any idea the work had been scheduled or how long it would last. Would totally recommend this place for a stay at the beach. read more

Terrible! Attempted to check in on app and instead of the partial ocean view, king bed balcony suite we reserved a couple weeks in advance, it was going to put us in a different room with 2 queen beds and gave no option to pick another room. So, we decided to wait till we arrived to check in. Arrived and went to check in and were told that we already checked into our room. After much debate, come to find out that another couple that were not suppose to be checking in until the following day were given our room by mistake because they had the same last name as us. We were told that they would make this right. Sat in the lobby for over an hour before they found us a room that was a two queen, no balcony, on the noisy street side of the building. To make matters worse we had to move to a different room the next morning. We were told that our stay that night would be covered by the hotel. We moved to the other room the next morning and it was what we had reserved. We woke the next morning to find a flood in the bedroom from an apparent leak. Waited around for a maintenance worker to finally arrive. After he came and left, we were called by the front desk and told we would need to move to another room AGAIN. Packed our clothes up again and went to the front desk to get access cards to the new room. The manager apologized to us and again told us that we would not be charged for the stay for that night as well. The third room we moved to was just a standard studio with no balcony and again on the street side with a view of an ugly flat roof. We made the best of the rest of our 30th wedding anniversary vacation with no thanks to Hilton. When we checked out, we received our invoice and we were charged and at the full rate for the two nights that were supposed to be "on the hotel." The Manager, last name Browning, did a terrible job "making this right." I will never stay in this hotel again and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I was there with a girlfriend for a long weekend trip. The hotel met my expectations and beyond. The room was super clean and we had a great balcony overlooking the courtyard and ocean. The breakfast is free and was delicious, omelettes made as ordered along with a descent variety of other things. The pool manager Abraham was awesome He was super friendly making sure everyone had towels and things they needed. He was constantly going around the pool straightening out chairs and grabbing used towels people left behind. He was doing it with a smile while asking of everyone was good!! If you want your vacation ruined and to be treated like dirt, stay here! Our room flooded due to the room above us and two staff members told us it was toilet water. Our belongings had been soaked, we ended up throwing things away due to bacteria and mold concerns, we kept telling the staff that we had damages and didn't think we could salvage things with toilet water on them, and, other than changing our room, we just kept being told "someone will reach out." No one did, so I sent an email about our stuff being covered in toilet water. Three days after the incident, after our stuff was already thrown out, Christopher Browning emails me back saying it wasn't toilet water after all, it was from a leaking water line (why would the staff holding a giant, metal plunger during the flooding lie to us though?), but he didn't want to address our damages, so I brought the subject up again and got ignored for a month and a half. When I finally heard back from the Assistsnt General Manager Matt Paula, he told me it was "shower" water that flooded our room, so he wanted proof of damages, including incident reports, pictures, the physical items in his hand, receipts, etc. I sent receipts, descriptions, a detailed accounting of events, but explained that we were never told to file a report, or asked for photos, or for the wet items to be turned over to the hotel. Paula said we had no proof and he wouldn't cover ANY of our damaged items. I asked Mr. Paula multiple questions about why the source of the flood water had changed three times now, why their staff who entered both rooms would lie and tell us it was toilet water the night flooding happened, why no one ever told us to make an incident report or to turn in our damaged items, why the staff seeing the damages wasn't enough proof, why my receipts weren't being accepted as valid, why did Paula only ask for picture evidence about ~45 days after we had put into writing that we threw the contaminated things away, why we were lied to about getting a refund for our room, and why would he expect us to keep items that we were told were soaked in toilet water when we still had five days of vacation left. Not to mention, how do I photographically prove that items are wet with toilet water? Wet things eventually dry, so how do you "inspect" that to assess the damages? There were no rips or tears to show, and I don't carry around a travel microscope to look for fecal matter from toilet water. We acted based on what the staff told us. With multiple staff members seeing our wet belongings and not telling us to get photos or to turn the items over, how would I guess what Paula would want from us a month and a half later? And why would we keep biohazard covered items or be able to drive 12 hours to the hotel to deliver ruined items for his inspection? That's an extremely unreasonable request when you know the flooding happened and we've been complaining about damages the entire time! I've never had property damage like this before, if the hotel had specific requirements for reimbursement, the hotel should have told us that the day of the crisis, not a month and a half later when they knew the items were long gone! The hotel has a Duty of Care that they severely neglected with us! Mr. Paula refused to answer any of my questions and said if I didn't have photos and couldn't give him the physical items to inspect then he wasn't bothering with us any further. So, this is the hotel to go to if you want your items and vacation destroyed while the management treats you like dirt, ignores you, and then blames you for their lack of action or direction. Seriously, stay ANYWHERE else, this hotel is a nightmare to deal with! read more

We stayed at this Embassy Suites after our Airbnb had a maintenance problem. I am skeptical of *any* Embassy Suites - not a fan of the pushiness at the complimentary happy hour. With that being said, although the room wasn't as large as our Airbnb, the hotel was nice. The hotel didn't really feel like a traditional Embassy Suites - the pool service was good, the staff was engaging, and the guests weren't so pushy. That made a huge difference for me. I still wouldn't consider this a destination hotel, but it is a great hotel for the area. read more
