I booked a 2 night stay with points because this was the only hotel close to the area I was in. For starters I was checked in by a guest service agent who was on the phone and had her phone on speaker and eating. She was kind but that is so unprofessional. I had to ask twice about an upgrade because she said upgrades are available but we had the biggest room which was not true. Literally everything in this hotel was under renovation and the site didn't specify that. Super disappointed! This hotel has a serious security and maintenance issue. I hope they are renovating this whole place because the rooms are outdated the doors have big cracks in it and I had to keep checking the door because I did not feel safe. Me and my mom were up all night because we did not feel safe. We seen a guy in the hallway lurking going into the stairways smh. The tv barely worked and the room wasn't the cleanest. The air conditioning unit was so dusty and was broken and had exposed wires at the bottom. I reached out to Marriott for my points back but they offered 10,000 points instead which my stay was 27,000, so disappointing and upsetting. The only plus was the really pleasant guest service agent the morning of my checkout and I didn't get her name. Literally everything needs to be improved.

Shower handle is configured wrong so you have to turn it to the cold water section for warm water and vice versa.

This hotel was hit and miss. The best part about the hotel was the front desk and Bistro staff. They were super friendly and always looking to be helpful. I was glad that they told me about renovations happening on the 3rd floor. When I arrived back from my meetings at 5:30pm to sleep before a very early departure in the morning they were hammering right above me. I was just about to complain when the work stopped at 6pm. While 5pm stop time may have been better, 6pm is not necessarily unreasonable, and I was happy to be able to get to bed early so I could be rested for a long drive the next morning. The room has a nice layout and was clean with the exception of the stains on the cloth fabric couch. I was disappointed that they had no usb ports in the room, so I couldn't lean on my phone cord for charging without the outlet prongs. The tub/shower was the worst part of the room. The body gel was torn from the wall and just placed on the back of the tub rather than maintenance reinstalling it. The faucet also periodically started dripping and draining for no reason whatsoever. But worst of all, I was wondering why the shower wouldn't get hot when the sink faucet easily pivoted from hot to cold. I figured out that, inexplicably, they had the fixture in wrong so that when the handle is pointed towards the red (hot) section the water is actually cold and you need to face the handle to the blue (cold) section to get warm water. Yes, the water never got hot but it was just warm enough for me to have a quick shower. I give them 3 stars mostly on the strength of the staff, but the room needs updating to get them to 4 stars or above.

I drove 5 hrs to attend an event in Waldorf, Maryland yesterday. I originally had another hotel booked, but when I arrived at that hotel, it was an absolute disgrace of how unkept the hotel was, the conditions and nonexisting customer service. I booked that hotel because of the close proximity to the event that my daughter and I had to attend; however, after that horrific experience, I decided to find a hotel brand that I trust - The Marriott brand. I quickly went online and booked a room at the courtyard Marriott in Waldorf. Although this hotel was a little further than my event destination, I was happy that they had availability. When I arrived at the hotel, I was excited to see from the outside that this was definitely the type of hotel that I would stay in. It was well kept and clean on the outside. Upon entering the hotel, my daughter and I were greeted very professionally with a smile by the rep at the counter. He got us checked in and gave us pertinent information to make our stay enjoyable. It was a refreshing feeling being treated like valued customers and seeing how clean and refreshing the lobby area was. Our room was on the second floor. On the way up, I was a bit nervous about the elevator because it made weird sounds and sounded like perhaps the door needed to be "greased"; it took a while to close and had a scratchy, dragging sound. The room was nice, clean, smelled good, and the beds were very comfortable. We were able to decompress from our previous experience and get ready for our event without any further issues. We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The next time I visit Waldorf, I definitely know where I need to stay.

I always have a good stay at all the Marriott hotels & the Courtyard was no different. The 1st thing that will always get you on my good side is letting me check in earlier than the given check in time. I arrived at around 1:45pm & check in wasn't until 3 but I was allowed to check in anyway which was glorious. Just wanted to relax and watch some shows & I did just that. I was put up on the 2nd floor towards the end of the hallway. When I got to my room I noticed there was a mini fridge and a microwave in the room which is always PERFECT!!! If you bring back food after a night of drinking you're going to want to heat it up in the middle of the night obviously. The television has internet tv so I was able to watch my YouTube & Netflix without a problem which is mandatory for all of my stays. The room was very clean and the bed was big & the pillows were quite soft. There is also a bistro in the lobby where I ordered a bacon egg & cheese 1 morning for breakfast & it actually was pretty good. Everything is made to order so it was fresh. You're in walking distance of shops & food options so the location is great. I think it's less than a mile from St Charles Mall also. There is only 1 complaint I had and it's with the shower. There wasn't a middle ground between cool & hot . The temperatures for the shower went from Freezing cold, to cold, to cool, to hot, to scorching hot. THERE WAS NO WARM SETTING no matter how slightly I adjusted the knob it went straight to hot ughhhh so frustrating. Fix yo shower Courtyard. Other than that my stay was great

I didn't truly get why the ratings were so low on this hotel. The staff was friendly, helpful and fixed an error found on my bill at check out. The lobby was clean and nicely decorated too. My only issue with this hotel was that my request to not be put by the elevator (part of my room requests as a Marriott gold member) was ignored and I was given a room right next to the elevator. So much noise...it was hard to sleep. Other than the room being too close to the elevator, this hotel was fine. So a solid 3.5 stars. I didn't eat breakfast and I didn't check out the bar so I can't give a higher review until I swing in again and try the other amenities.

Sink and Bathtub 9 pm at night!

I stay overnight May 16 this year. It was absolutely the worst stay I've had in ANY Marriott I've ever stayed in. Did I mention that I've been a Gold Member for over 15 years!! The Hot Water heater was replaced, but the Maintenance Department failed to drain the line. The water was burnt orange in color with a slight smell. I slept in places worst, but I was in Iraq! Totally disappointing. 3 hours of sleep at best!

    Mold on ceiling

Tne star only because I couldn't put 0. What a disaster this hotel is. It is not the Marriot quality I have grown to expect. The room #103 was a disaster. From what appeared to be blood on the carpet, smashed bugs on the ceiling, broken and hanging curtains, mold on the ceiling and walls and white substance all down the nightstand. The carpet was also unvacuumed with leaves and dirt around the room. It was so bad we didn't want to shower in the morning. Both my son and I woke up with headaches. I didn't see all this as we entered the room and went right to bed due to it being so late. It was when we woke up that everything was seen. The stay was already over, and there was no way to request a room switch. I used the App Chat function to try and resolve this. However, I received a response: "You will hear back from (name removed), our Guest Manager, within 30 minutes." It is now seven days later, and I haven't heard a word. Even though the chat stated a case was open, and the issue was forwarded to the Housekeeping Manager and Management team. The chat requested the opportunity to make this right. I guess the "Make it right" is to ignore my concerns and issues with a dump of a hotel. Not that I expect anything different from a management team that allows such filth in a room. I know that, being a Silver Elite level, I don't stay as much as other members, but I do stay enough with multiple families from hockey teams to know this is not normal Marriot quality. There is no excuse for being ignored by the Guest Services Manager. It just shows how committed the Courtyard Waldorf is to customer care. I wouldn't suggest staying at this hotel to anyone.

Where do I start? These 2 stars are solely for the young lady working the front desk overnight. I booked a room here for the weekend in celebration of my boyfriend's birthday. Keep in mind I booked this room 3 weeks in advance. Upon our arrival, we walk into a room that's completely not what I reserved. I asked for a room with a King bed & sofa bed and received a room with two queen beds instead. We were told all the King bed rooms have sold out. We decided to just deal with it and spend our romantic evening sharing one of the queen beds. After looking around the room, I began to notice little things. I have attached some pictures for you guys. We went downstairs around 11pm to check out the whirlpool, just to discover that they close everything at 10pm. Yet another romance fail. So due to the room inconvenience, they promised us free breakfast the next morning. We go down to check out breakfast the next morning to discover the cafe is closed because they are short staffed! At this point I'm pissed and the girl at the front desk is nice enough to take $27 off my bill for the inconvenience.... Lesson of the day: You get what you pay for. If you want a nice room, put up the money!!

We drove from Baltimore to Waldorf to attend a cookout so that was clutch. When you walk into the entryway, the ceiling is very high and the hotel is open, airy and spacious. It gives that welcoming feeling! I like that. It also appears modern. We arrived right at check-in and there was one person in front of me, one person behind me, and there was only one receptionist at the front desk. However, she was very polite, professional, and cordial to all of us. Also, I don't know how this happened but we both forgot our toothbrushes. I went to the hotel shop to purchase some and couldn't find any. I asked, the receptionist who had him behind the counter and gave me two. That's good to know. I must say, I DID NOT appreciate having to pay $10 for parking when I parked my vehicle, it did not move, and there a huge parking lot with plenty of parking spaces. I can see if I use ballet, which they don't have because you don't need it, but I parked my car (PERIOD). It screams money grab. Aside from that, our room was spacious. The bed was nice, the air conditioning was working and everything was as it should be. We were on the fourth floor and had a perfect view of the fireworks when we got back to the room. One thing I think I should note is that there was no safe in the room. Breakfast was served in the morning along with coffee, etc. Overall, I would stay here again.

They technically don't let people check in before 3pm and we were there before 1pm. The front desk clerk was less than enthusiastic about working with us and even begrudgingly acknowledged and thanked my wife for her diamond Hilton status. She was planning to put us in a room worse than what we reserved until the manager showed up and said they need to take care of diamond members. She then gave us a solid room and early check in. As tired as we were, we were super grateful. The room decor was fine. The bed was not very comfortable and be warned that the shower door only opens on one side. While it looks like a double slider it is not. The problem with this is that it forces you to enter the shower directly under the running water instead of at the back and where you can better gauge when you want to get wet based on water pressure and temperature. The couch also had stains on it and the breakfast was average at best. But of course the breakfast was free so I won't complain much about that (you get what you pay for). The staff was hit and miss with some being cheery and friendly and others looking past you like you don't exist. I also got a chuckle at the fact that when we checked out via the app the tv instantly switched from the channel to the generic welcome screen. I guess that means get out this instant! I've never seen a switch so fast. But that's ok. The manager made the experience better but overall it was an adequate stay that could/should have been better.

So when I checked out, I told the woman at the front desk what had happened, that I was coming back the next week, and please set aside a synthetic pillow for me. She pulled my records and noted all this. Came back the next week and brought along my own pillow from home just in case. Same thing! Nothing had been reserved for me. They do remove all feather pillows before you enter the room, but even requesting in advance both in the reservation and in person had no effect in terms of saving one for me (not even three, just one!). I had selected this hotel in advance and knew this was where I was going to be laying my head. When I told my colleagues where I was staying, they were a bit worried, thinking it wasn't a great place to stay. Plus, you can tell that this was another chain hotel before switching over to a Hilton branded hotel. But I am happy to report that this place surpassed my expectations. Checking in was extremely easy here. Being a Hilton hotel I used the app to check in ahead of time. If you do this, you can request a digital key, time of check in, and bypass the front desk altogether. I love this option and it allows me to move at my own pace. And, on the backend of it all, checking out is simple as well. Walking in here I was a bit lost at first. Attempting to find which corridor I needed to go down to get to my room. After going back and forth, I found the correct corridor. This happened as the front desk came out and checked on me. While in the lobby area, I was a bit worried. They had a police officer posted right there, it gave me pause that something has happened here in the past and this is why the police officer was sitting right near the entrance. Honestly, in the end, it didn't matter to me, I was just spending the night and would be on my way. Made my way down the corridor and I happened to have one of the rooms at the end and on a corner. When I opened the door, with the app, I thought I was being pranked as when I opened the door, it felt like I was looking at another hallway. But, being in a corner room, this made sense. Small walk down this hallway and the whole room came into view. Honestly, this room was perfect when it came to the noise level. If something was going on in the hallway, I did not hear a damn thing. I felt isolated and I did feel relaxed. With the rebrand came a remodel. They did a good job at this in my opinion. The colors were vibrant in the bathroom, relaxing in the living space. I had more than enough space in this room. King size bed, couch, desk, etc. This is the best room I have had in a while. I was able to sleep well and felt very comfortable. The only downside was being ground level, even with the blinds closed, you can still sometimes see car lights coming through the window. But, with the sized of the room, it didn't really affect much in the room. Then, like I said, check out was really simple. Did it on the app and walked out one of the side doors out to my vehicle.
