I was here on business and honestly I don't know why people don't like this place. The room is big and fantastic, the service was great, and the price is good. The TV is Netflix and Hulu ready. The business center is great. The front desk is quick and attentive. Great Courtyard in my opinion. The only negative and the reason they got 4 stars was the Bistro was super SLOW. I ordered a Bistro burger and it took a half hour or more to get it. read more

I'm the wife of a fallen Police Officer (NYPD)...I stayed at the Courtyard 5 Executive Blvd, Yonker, NY with my 2 sons on 6/7/23 bc we were moving into a new home after the death of my husband. I checked out and was notified by my iPhone tracking that i had left my iPad behind. I called the hotel to inform and they stated housekeeping would notify me...long story short I was given the runaround for 3 weeks...then told they would file a claim but didn't let me fill out an incident report. Well iPad was never found, insurance never contacted me and the General Mgr (Frank) was extremely nonchalant ... I'm a Marriott Loyalist and have stayed multiple times at this hotel. I truly feel that if I was not an African-American Woman I definitely would've been treated more professionally and empathized with the fact that I'm yet mourning the loss of my husband NYC Finest...this really breaks my heart. I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. The room was unequipped for a guest and no one seemed to care to improve it. The bathroom lacked 99% of amenities. There was no shower cap, hair dryer, body lotion, vanity kit and the lighting over the sink had to be repaired. I called to speak to the manager, Jamie, who never bothered to return my call. For three nights, I paid more than $800.00. Obviously there was no continental breakfast included. The electrician who replaced my lights in the bathroom went to the notions counter, off the lobby, and got me a small bottle of lotion and q-tips. The O on the phone didn't work, so I had to go to the undermanned front counter to ask for anything. Very disappointed, this is a Marriott affiliate and they were less than accommodating. read more

This place is horrid, you book and arrive to a long line and always they have no rooms. Been at this for two days on a week stay with reservations made a month ago. They over sold sent me to a nice Marriott that is in New Jersey and yep a 45 to 60 min commute with several toll fees. No real compensation, other guest had dirty rooms with bloody sheets. Staff sucks no empathy at all. Stay some place else... Might I add I am a gold elite member with Marriott. read more

This hotel is a hot spot for parties if you want to sleep don't stay there. First, I came to the room and they only had two towels and one wash cloth, there were (3) guests registered. My family and I stayed there a Sunday night to Monday morning. Second, we couldn't sleep from 12:30 - 4:30 AM because the room next to us kept talking extremely loud and we could hear them over the TV. I called the front desk around 2 AM to ask them to address the situation, the front desk stated they couldn't leave the front desk. They never even offered to change our room which would have been a solution. I never received any wash cloths till the next morning before check out. When I complained to the over night desk guy Luis he had the nerve to get snappy that he couldn't leave the front desk, that was a lie because I came downstairs around 3 am to address the loudness again and he wasn't at the front desk there was note he would be right back. I asked could he call security or an officer to address the situation he seemed to act like it was alright I was inconvenienced. Don't waste your money they don't care they don't have towels or washcloths. It's run like a run down motel. Hated it! read more

If I could give this establishment zero stars I would. A group of friends and I came to this establishment to film a music video as my friend is an aspiring artist. During our stay a security guard came I order to do an inspection. Upon finding a smoke alarm out of place he immediately accused us of tampering with the room. When asked about his reasoning regarding his decision to kick us out of the room he became defensive. As we tried to resolve the issue explains that the room was in the same state that we arrived the manager removed his name tag and called the police of us. Again, without explanation. I find the management of this hotel extremely racist. read more

Nice enough place, but no coffee available until 7am on weekends, 630 during the week. I can not recall being at a hotel where at least some sort of coffee was not available. With the rest of the family sleeping, making coffee in the room is not a good option, but I appreciate the reply. read more

We have stayed here multiple times over the past two year when attending weekend events at Fordham University. Great location, nice rooms, great check-in experience. That said, the past three times that we stayed here we have had a TERRIBLE experience with the Bistro cashier (Employee 121377) where you order your breakfast adjacent to the lobby. She will only take one order at a time before stepping away from the register and then doing something else for several minutes at a time. She could not possibly be any SLOWER. This past Saturday, we went down to breakfast at 10:00am when we thought it would be slower in the Bistro. After taking the order from the one person in line in front of us, she stepped away for over ten minutes without acknowledging that we were in line and that it would be several minutes before she could help us. No other orders were coming out of the kitchen at this time so there was no indication of where she went. After taking our order for one of the standard breakfast options at 10:13am, our luke warm food was not delivered to our table until after 10:33. No explanation or apology was provided as to why this took such a long time. As we waited for our food to be delivered, she did not even offer to bring over our coffee order until we asked her if we could have our coffee which was fifteen minutes after we ordered. Again, not sure what she was doing all of this time as there was only one other party of two that ordered breakfast after us so neither she nor the kitchen were by any means busy at this time. Apparently breakfast is only available until 10:30 on Saturday's because at 10:15, the cashier turned off the lights over the Bistro to indicate that it was now closed. While everyone can have a bad day every once in a while, this employee seems to have a bad day and a bad attitude every day. She apparently just does not care about your guests. This continued poor service by this one employee is enough for us to consider choosing another hotel for our future travels to NYC. read more

It was a very nice modern hotel, great amenities, I wish the bar/ food was available until atleast 2am, there's like nothing around, another issue was there was no heat and it was absolutely freezing outside, the hotel clerk said the temp didn't go past 75 and cold air blew out of the vent which was brutal. My body is so achy from freezing, please correct this issue I initially wanted to book again really soon but I'm not sure if it's ok in the winter months . read more

This hotel is clean, has modern decor, and is located near downtown Manhattan. The only complaint i have was that our room did not have hot water for about 30 minutes, exactly when i needed to shower. read more

Highly dissatisfied with Courtyard by Marriott Yonkers, NY and would advise against planning an event with their team. The reason I chose to conduct business with them was because I had presumed any collaboration with the Marriott brand would entail prompt, flexible service, tailored to the client's needs. Promptness was not delivered since I waited for a month for the menus to be "updated". The result: four weeks prior to my event, I still had no idea what my guests would be served because the team failed to revamp their menus. After two months of back-and-forth emails and face-to-face meetings with the hotel representative, my concerns and complaints were notified to management. This is where I would expect management to step in and demonstrate that they adhere to some sort of core values geared towards client satisfaction. Instead, their solution was to impose a $500 fee on me that would allow me to bring an outside caterer. So, because I was disappointed in the limited menu they had to offer, I had to pay an extra fee and then invest time and money towards an outside caterer. In addition, I find them exploitative: they even added a separate fee because I planned to use the built-in speakers that came with the room. I was also amused to find that I was being charged $50 for an easel as signage for my party. All this, despite the fact that I eventually rented an additional room, which would indicate my commitment to this place. In the end, I realized the hotel didn't place much value on my needs as a client so I decided to end our collaboration. I am disappointed that a hotel that carries the name Marriott was unable to accommodate my small event of 50 people. read more

For our wedding, my fiancé and I reserved a hotel block for our 200 guests at a nearby Marriott. We planned to have our family and friends enjoy an after party at the hotel bistro. Months in advance, I confirmed this with multiple staff members, signed contracts, and gave them all payments needed. We were all looking forward to having a great time at the hotel after the reception. Then, at 5:00pm, 2 days before our wedding, I received an e-mail that said the bistro will close at 10pm for maintenance "sorry for any inconvenience." This news was poorly communicated at an awful time in an e-mail that was poorly worded and left with little information, explanation, or solution to this problem. I was left scrambling for answers, not sure who to talk to and anyone I could reach wasn't able to answer my questions or offer me any solutions. We trusted this staff and this hotel to take care of us - and we feel deceived and crushed.  I can't believe how inconsiderate, unprofessional, inhospitable, and unkind this is. I can't even begin to tell you how upsetting this is for my fiancé and I. Please do not use this hotel for any wedding or event. read more

I made a reservation and I had a confirmation number and when I arrived the hotel manager, Jamie Masterson, told me my reservation was cancelled by the third party booking site that I used. She said she was sorry she couldn't help and that there were no rooms available. I had to find another hotel and paid $120 more because of this. Then the next day I see the Courtyard Marriott charged me $160 for my room. When I called back I spoke to Jamie Masterson again and she was not very pleasant because she did not see a reservation for, however in my end my reservation even sent me an email to ask about how my check-in went. My third party booking will refund the money because it was a charge from Courtyard and Courtyard says it was from Expedia. Well I am disputing the charge with my bank and will never use Courtyard or Expedia again for travels. ZERO stars for helpfulness to Ms Jamie Masterson who didn't give a damn about where me and my daughter and 2 year old grandbaby Would spend the night. read more

Very overpriced for what you get. First of all, when we first checked in we were send to a room that had not been cleaned. There were half eaten muffins and coffee cups on the nightstand and the beds had not been made. The concierge sent us to another room and said "let me know if that ones dirty too" rather than checking first. After being moved to another room, the hallway outside of our room smelled absolutely disgusting. Also, there were insects in the room. I was sitting in bed and ants were crawling up my skin. Also there were spiders dangling over my bed. For the price I payed this is unacceptable. I should have stayed at the hotel across the street. read more

In a weekend full of downed trees and power outages, I was lucky enough to find a room on the second night of the outage at the Courtyard Marriott. Despite the long check-in lines due to all displaced locals checking in at once, the staff remained patient, attentive, courteous and friendly. The room was beyond immaculate complete with a huge shower, mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. An indoor pool too. I'd go back there for a "staycation" in a heartbeat! I'm so happy to have this gem in my city! read more

My uncle was staying here while his wife had to be at a convention and I stopped by to see him and my little cousin. Upon entry, it was beautiful and new... I have been to all of the hotels within proximity of it and this one is the newest... went up in the elevator which had a slight smell of marijuana... I was with my young daughter who asked what the disgusting smell was. The room was very nice and modern... a bit on the cold side even though the heat was on. They were on the way to the pool which is nice but a bit on the small side... It was freezing as there were cracks in the door that led right to the outdoor sitting area which I can imagine is nice and relaxing in the summer. When we were on out way out around 8 p.m. there was a huge crowd of men and women heading in with music blasting with packs of beer and lots of bottles of liquor. The smell that accompanied them was one of the worst I have ever smelled, then when my daughter got to the sliding doors, there were two more women blocking it smoking marijuana and they didn't look like the most decent of people so I scurried past with my daughter... DISGUSTING that this kind of activity was allowed around children as there were a few in the lobby area with their parents... I would never stay here after seeing that... It was obvious that there was a hotel party about to occur and that is not the kind of atmosphere that children should be around. I understand that hotels are not able to restrict the kind of people staying here but something has to be sent in place to make a hotel enjoyable for families as well. read more

HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. We are silver rewards members and always stay at a Marriott. I am totally disappointed by the Yonkers Marriott Courtyard and would NEVER stay here again or recommend this to anyone. First of all at 8:20AM a male BURST into my room (no knocking first) and when he saw my husband, he quickly retreated (thank God I was not here alone). Shortly after, I looked in the hall and saw no housekeeping carts. I immediately called the front desk and they said housekeeping did not start until 9:00AM. I was completely filled with fear and frequently travel alone and worried about other women who were here alone. When I asked to talk to the manager (I actually asked them to call the police) they said he would not be in until 9:00AM and went down to the desk then. He made me wait for 10 minutes and I had to leave as my daughter was in the hospital. When I returned I asked to speak to him - he again made me wait - very disappointing when he had a distressed guest who felt that their safety had been compromised. Finally he appeared, and was was very patronizing and defensive and did not try to ease my safety concerns - I had to walk away from him because we were in the lobby and he was humiliating me and not sympathetic to my situation. This is NOT up to Marriott standards and I will NEVER stay here again and encourage any women staying here alone to go somewhere else or make sure they double lock the door. The customer service here is sub-par. I never received an apology - very disappointing customer service. read more
