There were holes in the walls near the electrical outlets, and there was an awkward empty space where it looked like furniture had been removed from the wall without any repairs or touch-up paint being done. Overall, the room looked neglected and far below what I would expect from a Marriott property. Another odd issue was the refrigerator being located under the bathroom sink, which seemed very unusual. To make matters worse, it had a strong unpleasant odor. Customer service was equally disappointing. When we arrived to check in, the front desk associate was busy stocking shelves and paid no attention to us. He then stopped to have a conversation with another staff member while we waited. At no point did he acknowledge us or simply say, "I'll be right with you." A little communication and courtesy would have gone a long way. Based on the condition of the room and the lack of attentive service, this stay did not meet the standards I associate with Marriott hotels. I would not choose to stay here again.

Thankfully it was a quick stay, but not sure I would have been able to give my hair a good wash in this. The AC blew right on my bed. If I had it off, the room was stuffy. They were in the middle of renovating and repairing what looked like water damage/mold at the check in counter, but we were on the 19th floor and didn't hear it at all. They only did construction during daytime hours and not during meal service. They have a small gym and business center, although we didn't use those, and offer free lemon water in the lobby. It is located right next to Grand Central station, so it's very convenient for a Manhattan trip! They were also one of the most accommodating hotels I've been to in terms of allergies. To the staff member that helped me during breakfast find all of the labels and ingredient information, thank you! You made my day. They even had strawberry waffles and cute little sprinkles and syrups to add as part of their "February Breakfast"! They also offered free all-day coffee and tea. They had full bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, and a hair dryer in the room as well, so save yourself the packing space! I would be happy to stay here again.

The hotel is essentially located near historic sites, and there's a 24-hour buffet restaurant next door. The hotel's entrance is on a side street, but it's safe and secure. Unfortunately, at this time, there's a lot of construction to go along with the congestion and a lot of destroyed roads in front. I had a room on the first floor. If you desire a microwave or a mini fridge in your room, you must request it, and they will bring one in. The room is compact but beautifully laid out, so it feels spacious without being claustrophobic. The beautifully tiled and granite bathroom was stunning. My only suggestion would be to lower the showerhead, as I'm not 7 feet tall, so it couldn't be adjusted.

He booked it via booking.com and had a slight issue because he accidentally booked it for the wrong date. Booking does have a change of reservation policy, it is free and included, but the first 2 people over the phone at booking did not want to do their jobs. The third person finally did their job and seamlessly changed the reservation date. Why isn't the option available online, I'll never know, that could have all been avoided! He works overtime quite a bit and late nights so I didn't blame him for a second! It meant the world to me that he planned this all on his own for me. So he made a mistake, big whoop, things happen when you're exhausted. PARKING The parking lot is spacious and free! Plenty of parking to choose from! Obviously we also stayed off season during a weekday so that might have also factored into things. CHECKING-IN My god this place was stunning! Supposedly this is a 3-star hotel, but it is definitely the best 3-star hotel we stayed in thus far! Checking-in was a breeze, had no issues at all. ROOM The room is gorgeous! The American Dream Mall is nearby, but it is not in walking distance. You either need to drive, get an Uber/Lyft or take a shuttle over if the hotel provides shuttle service. A lot of the surrounding hotels do provide a shuttle service, so just check in with the front desk. My man and I love to snowboard before date night, that's why I mention American Dream Mall quite often. That's our shared hobby and how we met. I wonder if it's because I used booking.com and not directly through the hotel that they gave me a very small room. But I'm not mad and I didn't try to change it because it is very comfortable, very quiet, and very pretty! So for a one night stay, it really has everything that I need. She scolded me for having bags (which was to hold the dirty laundry, not to steal food). Then, she proceeds to ask everyone for their room key. Excuse me? Stop everyone at the entrance then. Why are you giving us access to the food and then treating us like crinimals? The food is all prepacked. Jimmy Dean, Danone, none of it is made in house. There was bright green gum stuck to the shower room. Sure, this place is cheaper than staying in Manhattan but damn, the staff here could use a lesson in people skills. Thank goodness I didn't get the Marriott credit card because this franchise just lost my business.
