I had a terrible experience with this hotel. It was dirty and infested with roaches. Reception was rude and refused to cancel my reservation. I felt very uncomfortable staying there 8 months pregnant. Look for yourself, a picture is worth a 100 words...

Have to agree with reviewer Don H. - 3 stars for me as well. The place feels dated, and a bit wayworn. I will say that this is the first Courtyard Marriott I've been to that has that new large HD screen information system in the lobby. The rooms need some work. It was difficult to maintain the temperature at a comfortable level. When I arrived, the heat was blasting in the room - it was very warm. I had to switch it to AC to cool the room off. And after that, I struggled to maintain the temperature at a comfortable level. The thermostat controls are the old, imprecise analog style - making it hard to know exactly what you have. The TV in the room is an HD model - but with zero HD channels. Another fail. Beware that you cannot order any food in the lobby bar area after 10:00 pm. Other Cons: - Bed was to soft - killed my back - Room smelled like it had been dosed with carpet freshener powder or some such product - The floor lamp to the right of the bed did not work Pros: - Staff was friendly at checkin - Free wireless internet access - Room was quiet - I heard nothing through the walls during my stay I would probably try some other hotels in the area before returning to this one.

This is a great North Dallas hotel if you're looking to stay under $100 a night. The lobby has many seating arrangements along with a market area with food for purchase. Some areas of the hotel could use some updates though. There is a certain chemical smell in the hallways. I didn't sleep well because the AC unit kicked on and off all night long and it was pretty loud. 4 stars for the price, friendly staff, and many choices for dining.

Stayed in this Courtyard for three nights and wasn't too happy... I actually prefer the Marriott (SpringHill Suites) down the street. Pros: - Free WiFi - Modern looking lobby with lots of seating options (couches and tables) - Has a lobby bar with pretty good hours - Outdoor pool and whirpool - Ida Claire (literally right next door), Kenny's Wood Fired Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, and tons of other restaurants, as well as the Addison Improv Comedy Club and some nice massage spas are walking distance - ~5-10 min ride to the Galleria (but definitely not walking distance) and Village on the Parkway (great restaurants, Whole foods, movie theater, some shops), ~10-15 min ride to uptown, ~30 min from the airport - Tons of Uber drivers around Cons: - Has an "old" feel to it.. not in a vintage way... My room was not comfortable. - Uncomfy beds. I had two kings to myself and both killed my back. - Loud AC - Gym is tiny and stuffy. I mean, it's got what you need, but I've seen far better. - Lobby bar is expensive and mediocre. My breakfast was ~$10. - No microwaves in the rooms. - Slow cable service. It takes forever to change a channel.

Start of trail is right behind the hotel and past the dog park. Well lighted and attractive landscaping. Little or no street noise.

I'm not sure who they were staying with, because my experience was a solid 5 out of 5. No debate. From the moment I pulled up, I was impressed. The exterior was clean, well-kept, and inviting--already a good sign. Then I walked inside and oh my goodness... the smell. Fresh. Clean. Comforting. The kind of scent that makes your shoulders drop like, okay, I can exhale here. I even said out loud to Mercedes, "It smells really good in here," because when something hits, it hits. The lobby? Clean, polished, welcoming. And y'all already know--if it doesn't pass the cleanliness and smell test, I'm mentally checking out. This place passed with flying colors. They're currently doing renovations on the first floor, so guests were placed on the second floor and up. I stayed on the second floor, and it was quiet, comfortable, and exactly what I needed. No chaos, no weird smells, no mystery noises. Peace. This will absolutely be a go-to hotel for me. Honestly, I could see myself booking a weekend here just to chill and explore. There are so many little shops in the area, which is dangerous for someone with... let's call them aspirational spending habits. But worth it. Now let's talk breakfast. The continental breakfast was giving continental breakfast--nothing fancy, nothing offensive. It was good. Would I have loved the food to be kept a little hotter? Sure. But let's be real--it's included. "Free." (Yes, we know we paid for it in the stay, but still.) Bottom line: * Clean? * Smells amazing? * Comfortable and welcoming? * Great location? If you're staying in Addison, do yourself a favor and check them out. This one feels like home--in the best way.

Immediately went back to FD and requested another room and got one on the 2nd floor which was sorta disappointing considering my bum knee but oh well. We stopped to Walmart and bought 2 sheet sets, blankets, towels, cleaners, extra paper towels. The room was kinda run down. Beds were comfortable, the AC was great, they offer free coffee 24/7 but it isn't that hot, coming out of the pump carafe or what ever it's called. The free breakfast (6:30-9:00) I won't comment bc it's free and it's basically take it or leave it. The lady running it didn't want to be there seemed super annoyed and did not reply to any hellos or good mornings but gave a stinky glare. Lmao. Very convenient location. I'm grateful that it was a place to hang our heads but if I'm ever in the area I'd pick a different place to stay. Also, there was a guy power washing the walkways and stairs in the morning. Not a good thing during check out. Almost ended my life trying to walk down the wet stairs with luggage I think they could've done it in the evening (the guy said bc it would be too hot to do it later and I get it) but it's very dangerous for an unsuspecting guest. And tons of water creeped in under the door and got the carpet wet and I used the remainder of our paper towels to clean it up and I honestly don't think that area ever saw a good wipe down bc the paper towel was pitch black. Hyatt, do better please!

Long story short, we had to look for a different place the same night we got to our airbnb due to multiple issues. I was excited to see I have enough points to book at this location. The area is our favorite, being so close to bunch of restaurants and things to do. Upon checking in, we got upgraded from a 1 bedroom to 2 bedrooms free of charge. They also waived our parking fee for booking with points (either pay fully with points or half points half cash works too) Our room overlooking the pool, which didnt make much of a difference since it was too cold for anyone to be in the pool. The room was clean, but outdated. Seems like it's a typical issues with Hyatt House where the kitchens don't get much attention from the housekeepers. We barely had 1 or 2 silverwares each for a 2 bedrooms that supposed to accomodate 6 people. Wasn't a big issue, but it just go to show how little they care. Overall, if we are back in the area, we wouldn't mind staying here again.

The door was kinda jacked up so the hotel was showing its age for sure. Maybe that's why it's called the Renaissance. I also had packages delivered to me and every time I checked with the hotel staff, they said they were with the "show" staff. They didn't even check, they just said "the stuff will be delivered at XXXX time". Well, the event was starting and I still didn't have my stuff so finally I found a guy that would listen and he tracked it down. But do disappointed for the rest of the hotel staff to not even try to help. It was within walking distance of a plaza that had some places to eat, but being on a Frontage road (gotta love Texas), some things that seem close are so far. But definitely try to go to Kenny's Woodfire Grill if you stay here. I wouldn't choose to stay here again if I was in the area, but the convenience of being in the same hotel as a conference trumps the other issues.
