For the price I paid (less than $190/night), this turned out to be a very decent place to stay. Got a big room that included a sofa and big desk, nice bathroom, great water pressure in shower and all things fully functional in the room. Excellent comfortable bed. Bunch of amenities including gym, meeting rooms and a swimming pool. The lobby is super nice, lots of space, all clean and well maintained. There's a small restaurant that serves Starbucks drinks. Next to reception desk, a small marketplace has snacks, drinks, candies and other essential goods. There's always someone at the front desk, I arrived at midnight and still managed to check in very smoothly. Checkout was fast and easy too, just dropped off my room key card. Some of the issues I noticed, the restaurant doesn't have much option for breakfast. Also the AC in room was extremely loud, so much so it disrupted my sleep every time it went off throughout the night to adjust to the temperature. Came to town to go to a comedy show across the street. Normally I LOVE Courtyard by Marriott. The hotel is fine enough. Upon entering the hotel I couldn't find anyone to check me in. I wondered if maybe I had to check in on the Bonvoy app. Finally a woman came out and helped me. Room is clean. Water pressure in the shower is great. My problem was that the pillows are awful, the bed is hard and then you can hear everything. I like to be able to close the door and shut out the world. Maybe its better to stay here during the week rather than book a weekend stay. read more

Have stayed here on three week-long occasions in the past three months and would recommend. Very decent place, immaculately clean, very friendly folks at the cafe/bar, nice pool and weight room (albeit a bit small). Would be five star review if not for front desk annoyingly asking that you come down in person for any requests -- most recently when I called to notify them I will be checking out a day early -- and which other guests I talked to complained of as well. I do not ever travel anywhere. I went here for work on 1/7-1/9. I came home and ended up with bedbugs. I called hotel on a Tuesday 2/4 after I had to have my house fumigated. I was told based on the lifespan of the bugs that this would have come from the time frame I was at the hotel. We haven't been anywhere else and we have had no one come to the house. This cost me $3000 to get my house cleaned and hotel is unwilling to help. DON'T STAY HERE!!! read more

9/10/22: We stayed here for the first time to spend the day at Addison. The property was easy to get to and there was plenty of parking. Ashley greeted me at the front desk. She was very friendly and personable. She was able to upgrade our room (Gold Elite). She was very thorough while she explained the benefits of the property, the (paid) breakfast, and best entry points to our room. She made a great first impression! Our room was clean and the common areas looked great. The property was centrally located to the areas we were exploring. We will definitely be back! read more

Have to agree with reviewer Don H. - 3 stars for me as well. The place feels dated, and a bit wayworn. I will say that this is the first Courtyard Marriott I've been to that has that new large HD screen information system in the lobby. The rooms need some work. It was difficult to maintain the temperature at a comfortable level. When I arrived, the heat was blasting in the room - it was very warm. I had to switch it to AC to cool the room off. And after that, I struggled to maintain the temperature at a comfortable level. The thermostat controls are the old, imprecise analog style - making it hard to know exactly what you have. The TV in the room is an HD model - but with zero HD channels. Another fail. Beware that you cannot order any food in the lobby bar area after 10:00 pm. Other Cons: - Bed was to soft - killed my back - Room smelled like it had been dosed with carpet freshener powder or some such product - The floor lamp to the right of the bed did not work Pros: - Staff was friendly at checkin - Free wireless internet access - Room was quiet - I heard nothing through the walls during my stay I would probably try some other hotels in the area before returning to this one. read more

Stay was wonderful! But the dude at the front desk; his name was King, super attentive dude. I'm not calling him Alfred by all means but he had me feeling like Bruce Wayne the whole time and he was super down to earth. Only spent less than maybe five minutes with him but he made a grand impression and answered all my questions and assisted me with whatever I may needed help with. I enjoyed this hotel. The room was clean, nice and spacious. The shower water was nice and hot. The check-in experience was awesome. I didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool or workout facility being in town for one night. My daughter went down to warm up her pizza and said the night attendant at desk was extremely rude. That was a little off putting considering she's 19, totally respectful and probably didn't deserve that behavior from an employee who should be welcome to do their job. I will put the story here so you know who you are.. first of all she spoke to you and received no response, she preceded to ask you for a paper plate.. and I'll end it there. This is a great North Dallas hotel if you're looking to stay under $100 a night. The lobby has many seating arrangements along with a market area with food for purchase. Some areas of the hotel could use some updates though. There is a certain chemical smell in the hallways. I didn't sleep well because the AC unit kicked on and off all night long and it was pretty loud. 4 stars for the price, friendly staff, and many choices for dining. read more

Fair warning - I arrived grumpy. For some reason my company's travel department found me a spot almost 40 minutes away from the office building. The other reviews are gracious when they state it is tired. Half the drop down tiles in the hall way ceilings are moved around, the particle board furniture belongs in a discount store, and there's a decidedly weird car wash chemical smell. Understandable if it was a smoking hotel, but it's not. High walls all around the hotel grounds to keep the riff raff out, but only signs gsaying you are in your own where you park your car. Service from staff was wonderful, the bed was comfortable, clean and roomy. Three strikes occurred when I came back from dinner. 1) I had to teach the bartender how to make a 7&7. Really? I love helping new folks in the workplace, but isn't that a staple drink? Even I have about five iPad/iPhone apps that could be used discretely. She needs to retake whatever Bar Exam they take. 2) I took my drink to the far end of the hotel to go to my room only to find that the card no longer worked. I told you I was grumpy already, but that was lame. 3) returned to desk and said my card didn't work. As I was digging in my wallet the hostess asked my room number and made me another card. Handed it to me and said have a good night. Never even had a chance to open my wallet before she was off to another customer. I wonder if that would have worked if I "accidentally" gave some random room number. I went to my room, locked every door and put my bag behind it. If on a business trip (close by) then this is probably fine. If on my own dime I'd not choose the place. read more

It's a great location for a quick get away while enjoying the Addison/Galleria area. The customer service at checkin was great and the team also did a great job in the breakfast area. Stayed in this Courtyard for three nights and wasn't too happy... I actually prefer the Marriott (SpringHill Suites) down the street. Pros: - Free WiFi - Modern looking lobby with lots of seating options (couches and tables) - Has a lobby bar with pretty good hours - Outdoor pool and whirpool - Ida Claire (literally right next door), Kenny's Wood Fired Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, and tons of other restaurants, as well as the Addison Improv Comedy Club and some nice massage spas are walking distance - ~5-10 min ride to the Galleria (but definitely not walking distance) and Village on the Parkway (great restaurants, Whole foods, movie theater, some shops), ~10-15 min ride to uptown, ~30 min from the airport - Tons of Uber drivers around Cons: - Has an "old" feel to it.. not in a vintage way... My room was not comfortable. - Uncomfy beds. I had two kings to myself and both killed my back. - Loud AC - Gym is tiny and stuffy. I mean, it's got what you need, but I've seen far better. - Lobby bar is expensive and mediocre. My breakfast was ~$10. - No microwaves in the rooms. - Slow cable service. Nice location for meetings i needed to attend. Rooms are clean and service is very good. Pretty basic and average, except.... The one and only issue was the breakfast server would not let me use the free coffee coupon i was given because of my status (lifetime platinum). I wanted a large coffee and she told me it was only good for a small. I was not allowed to just pay the difference. The large coffee was less than $3 i think. So hardly worth the objection and a little odd. I just threw the coupon away and bought the coffee. Weird how such small things can impact your perception of an establishment. I chaperoned a field trip for my daughter's middle school choir on April 20th. We stayed at this Courtyard location. The hotel employees were absolutely wonderful with our kids. I know that between the choir and orchestra we had well over 100 young teenagers running around. Every staff member I encountered had a smile on their face and reassured me that they were used to accommodating large groups such as ours. I shared a room with another chaperone and I had two groups of girls in two different rooms. All the rooms were clean and lovely. I have to give an extra shout-out to the breakfast staff. The girl with the long dark hair who cleaned up a spilled bowl of cereal for one of our kids was especially kind. read more

For less than 100 dollars a night, how could you rank this any less than 4 stars?! Overall, very happy with our stay here (possibly even impressed, in some instances), a two night stint for the sake of the Texas State Fair, y'all!! To me, the biggest plusses were: 1. The lobby is cute and has lots of seating options... Also contains a small market and cafe area (for all of your food and drink -- alcoholic or otherwise -- needs... Especially crucial in the morning when coffee needs to be mainlined) 2. there were many MANY convenient food options within walking distance 3. Price!! 4. Only 20-30 minutes away from the airport! 5. Pillows are real pillows 6. The gym has an elliptical, treadmills, and free weights... All in fairly new condition. Minuses: 1. Loud ass AC that flips on and off all. night. long. Absolutely the most disrespectful hotel employees I have ever encountered. Cassie the front desk woman stole our food delivery order then threw a phone at me when I asked to speak to her manager - Tiffany Raines I think is her name and she was equally as rude and nasty as Cassie! So I walked away completely in awe at these hotel employees acting like animals. Then 45 minutes later Cassie comes knocking on our door with our food in her hands!!! I refused it obviously so she threw the food at me, turned around called my multiple curse words and walked away. I've stayed at the Peninsula in Beverly Hills and the motel 8 by the airport and never have I seen 2 hotel employees act so gross and disgusting in my life. Only one Precore in gym but it was never busy. The common areas are new and I really like that they have a breakfast options and a happy hours bar. But the happy hour is 5-7 and then you can buy a beer to take to the room. Wine is not an option. The rooms and appoitments are not quite so new. The staff very nice. read more

We like staying in this area when we go home to Dallas to visit. Addison is a great town full of fun bars and multiple restaurants (a lot of which are open late night too). Being right off the tollway you can hop on and are mere minutes from the galleria and about 20 minutes from downtown. I prefer full service Marriotts but the price for courtyards can't be beat when the trip is planned last minute. They do have a little market which is open 24/7 and always have someone at the desk which is nice. There is a bistro open during normal business hours. They stop serving breakfast at 10 btw. The room we had was cramped and the AC unit was noisy when it kicked on and off every ten minutes. It's not a 5 star hotel but it's safe and clean. It also has a nice pool and workout room if you are the kind of weirdo that uses either when you travel ;-) read more

My dad made a mistake of booking this hotel instead of another hotel with a similar address and name. It actually worked out fine because this one was a tad cheaper and was still in an area where we wanted to be. The parents usually stay at another Courtyard* but wanted to change it up this time. Our room was fine for a one night stay. We had a small refrigerator we weren't expecting, and we put it to good use. The room and the rest of the hotel could use a little upgrade though. I think it might be in the process, because the lobby area looked and felt more modern than the everywhere else. Also, the lock to the balcony door in our room was broken. As a warning to parents with small kids who plan on staying here, I would double check this. Terrible!! I am a Gold member (almost Platinum), but I was given room right by the elevators. And even though my profile clearly states "father free room," I was given a room with a down comforter and pillows. Even after requesting foam pillows, twice, I never received them. The walls are paper thin, and I could hear every single noise in the halls and adjacent rooms. Consequently, I was awoken at 1:00 am by my obnoxious neighbor screaming, SCREAMING, into her phone at, what I gathered, was a boyfriend she was not pleased with. I called downstairs, and the hotel did nothing until 3:30 am, when I demanded a move or check out. They finally called the cops and moved me two doors down from psycho lady... Only two doors down. Really?? As for actual comfort, the bed was terrible in first room; incredibly sagging mattress and flat pillows. However, the second room and mattress was far better and hey! Foam pillows!! Guess all it takes is a crazy psycho neighbor and cops called to get a good room, here. In addition, even though the upper floors have been renovated, the lower floors have not, yet. It smells like they are covering up cigarette smoke with a very chemical air freshener when you walk through the halls. I will NEVER stay here again. read more

I'm a regular traveler and my last 32 nights this year I moved from Hilton (Diamond member) to Bonvoy to give it a shot and to see how fast I can get to platinum. On a whole I've been extremely happy with the service...until tonight. I reserved a king as always and when I showed up the desk agent was on the phone and I stood by. When she hung up she looked at me and said "ID and credit card". No hello, no please, nothing else. I said it's the same one that's on file but here you go. She typed a bit and then said, "i have to inform you we don't have any kings, you're in a double". I asked how that's possible since I reserved a king and the parking lot is empty. "I don't know, we just don't have any". I wasn't happy but took the room and as soon as I got upstairs called Bonvoy reservations and asked if there were kings available tonight at this location, he said yes. I asked him to call the hotel directly to confirm and after a lengthy delay he came back and said it was confirmed and asked if I would like to book one. I'm not sure what the woman behind the counter had against me or if she's just a menace, but that is absolutely the worst customer service ever experienced! I would absolutely avoid this location if you have options, at least until she's been let go as I'm sure Is inevitable. read more

I don't expect much from a hotel. I want a clean comfortable room with a comfortable bed. Hotel staff was generally pleasant and helpful. Room was updated and looked nice. The bed however was impossible to sleep on. I prefer a firmer mattress, but this one took a firm bed to the extreme. It was like trying to sleep on a piece of plywood . The walls were very thin and I heard both of my neighbors going about their nightly activities until about 10:00 PM. Gold members who don't know better about courtyards are in for a nasty surprise when they discover there is no free breakfast. I checked in late and they gave away my room, even though I checked in online the night before, preparing for my late arrival. Then the last day the housekeeper didn't come to my room at all that day! One of the worst I've ever stayed at and won't be going back and I come into town 2-3x a year, Marriott should be ashamed cause I'm a member considering getting their credit card. read more

SHOWER HAD NO HOT WATER. COCKROACH FOUND ON FLOOR. I stayed this past weekend for two nights. The first room appeared clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the water in the shower never got hot. I let it run for 15 minutes and it did not heat up. To check and see if it was a problem with the knob, I put the knob to "cold" (perhaps maybe it was accidentally switched). The water got much colder, so I knew for a fact the water was not heating properly. I checked the temperature of the sink and the water heated up right away. The next morning I told the gentleman at the front desk. He was very helpful and got us a nicer room on the first floor. This room also appeared clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower temperature was accurate. However, Sunday morning we saw what was undoubtedly a cockroach crawling across the floor. This disgusted us and was more than the last straw. Furthermore, neither room's key card worked on the exterior entrances so we would always have to go through the front door, regardless of the location of our room. There was no iron in the closet (I am certain if I called the front desk one would be brought to the room in no time but I should not have to call for something so simple in the first place). The staff was very friendly and I am sure would do anything to make my stay more pleasant. Regardless, there is no excuse for improper pest control ESPECIALLY A COCKROACH. If it weren't for the staff this would be a 1 star review. I have stayed at Courtyard Marriotts before, but I can confidently say I will NEVER stay at one again. read more

We got the Hotel because we did not want to drink and drive for Oktoberfest. Got checked in all fine I walked to my room didn't realize he didn't tell me my room number I looked at my card it said Room 622 no problem went to 622 card didn't work I was like ok maybe it was a 7 not 2 tried the card on 627 bam! It worked.... Oh wait there people in here :/ the guy gave me someone else's room key. I had to carry all my stuff back to the front desk to get the right room card. Comparing to the other Courtyard's I've stayed at throughout the country (Gold Status member) this one is well below average when it comes to the rooms. Everything just seems worn out or dated. There is no extra power on the nightstands so expect to dig behind them to find an outlet. The rooms are smaller than normal. There are no refrigerators. Disappointing altogether experience. We walk down there and the man at the front desk was rude and stated the bar wasnt open bc it's not breakfast at 12:45. I quickly stated well it's lunch! He had nothing else to say. I am a huge Marriott fan and this was probably the best Courtyard I have ever seen. Completely redone and absolutely beautiful. The staff was accommodating and I could not have asked for more. The room was very large, the furniture was amazing with a super comfy chair and ottoman plus the usual Marriott work desk. USB charging plugs were everywhere along with power. Do not stay at this hotel, too many options nearby with better service. I've stayed here several times and have yet to enjoy my time. I stay here for work. They typically never have the reservation 100% correct and definitely will not have your rewards info applied unless you make sure and ask. Tonight was the last straw, I arrived at the hotel at 10:40pm after flying across the country to be informed they don't have any rooms and cannot honor my 3 week old reservation. Their solution was a free night in Denton - which is a town about 45 mins north of Dallas, not close. That was their only solution after not even an email earlier in the day. Cheap room for a spur-of-the-moment trip! The desk clerk worked so hard to accomodate us in a quiet room on the top floor (7). The bed was very comfortable--Westin-like even. Fridge under the sink was handy. The outdoor pool/hot tub area looked very nice, but it was too chilly to swim this time. I was a little surprised they did not have a complimentary breakfast. Didn't affect us because we planned on brunch in uptown. Overall it was a a-ok hotel. No complaints. read more
