I am huge on customer service and the entire staff was amazing! The location is top tier. There are so many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. I loved that breakfast was available and there is a bar inside for a night cap. It was the perfect hotel for my birthday staycation. I will definitely be back! Hopefully sooner than later. read more

Demarcus wasn't very courteous or helpful, nor did he The reservation was confirmed, and check-in time was set at 11:30pm because it would be a late arrival into Dallas on the day of check-in, way after check-in time. Then, another email for check-in time was sent on the day of check-in, and I did the same thing again. The arrival time is set at 11:30pm, way after check-in time. Because there were already delays and other issues with flights the day prior, it might trickle into the next day, so I was planning. Okay, confirmed for late check-in and mobile key access. The mobile key will be given when the room is ready at check-in. Okay, no problem. Information was confirmed and done for mobile check-in, which says it is offered. I know I keep repeating that. Fast forward I arrived early the next day due to delays, but remember I had already checked in, just waiting for the room key with mobile access. I opened the app, but I had no reservation or mobile key. Upon arrival at the hotel, I went to the desk and was told there was no reservation. I showed the email, which said it was confirmed. I checked in waiting for room key with mobile access. I was told the reservation was a no-show and canceled per hotel policy, if I arrived late after check-in, I would need to call and notify the hotel, even though I put arrival time 11:30pm which is way after check in with mobile key access, with credit card information for my Bonvoy account. Demarcus was just there, there's no reservation. Next , not oh I'm sorry about that, let me look into what happened, what the confirmation #, so on and so forth, or even let's see what happened, or give me a minute. I can help make a new one, would need early check in being it's early AM etc . Nope just NO RESERVATION the end. And, being as it's been a long night traveling, no problem, but no customer service whatsoever. I left the line, rebooked the room, and got a new reservation. I got back in line to say Hey Demarcus again lol with a new reservation. To which now he's like Oh, you want early check-in? " . I got a new reservation, got checked in oh excuse early check-in, and went to the room. The room is nice, the lobby area was clean, not so much the areas that the hotel was in, but the hotel in general. The room had a strong perfume or cologne fragrance, not a cleaning product, or the room was just cleaned. Now, while lying down to nap after a long night, someone knocks loudly on the door and yells out loud. DO YOU NEED EXTRA TOWELS? DO YOU NEED EXTRA TOWELS? Reluctantly get up and open the door, say no, thank you, and all good on extra towels needed. Take a nap, leave the hotel, it's still early, get back to the hotel after 4pm, and guess what? Extra towels in the bathroom lol The hotel nice, and the rooms are nice, a good size with a nice bed the pillows were also comfortable except for that smell that lingered the entire time. and the AC did make noise, but again, it was already a rough start at check-in. read more

Stayed at the Aloft for a week while working an event at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas. Clean, comfortable room in what seems to be a converted old brick building, the Aloft has a very funky vibe. The pool was a little chilly, and perpetually in the shade, which may be a benefit in July in Dallas, but wasn't that inviting during my stay in October. Convenient to many restaurants in the downtown area, and if you are driving, plenty of surface-level parking. read more

Stayed for couple nights. Great choice location wise. Rooms were clean. Kinda gave vintage vibes with the open brick walls. There is also a bar in the lobby. Close to AT&T discovery district and reunion tower. My only complaint is that the hairdryer wasn't working. And no microwave. read more

Conveniently located downtown not too far from uptown and nightlife. Style of the hotel is loft which I thought would've felt uncomfortable but it was a pleasant stay. There's a nightly parking rate of ~$16. The room was decent and nicely lit. The shower could be modified as the shower head needs to be pointed towards the wall or else the bathroom will be flooded from the water getting under shower door. read more

Both rooms I've been in now are humid, stuffy, and smell. The king rooms are spacious but the air seriously feels congested and claustrophobic. Seedy part of Dallas, especially the parking lot... nope. The walls, ceilings, lobby, etc. seem like part of a "vibe", but it just seems like you found a free place to stay and spruced it up. 2 stars (instead of 1) because the receptionists were professional and nice and changed my room. read more

I had a great stay at Aloft this past week while in town for work. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and courteous and, in particular, welcoming to LGBT people in a way that eased my anxiety landing in Texas the first time. The lobby restaurant and bar are solid options to keep you sustained through a workweek and the free pool table I've come to expect from Aloft's is right around the corner from the drinks. The bar staff were also really friendly and easy to hang out with. All in all, a great home base while visiting the city. The room was spacious and clean, and the hotel's architecture is pretty cool - lots of exposed brick and concrete. Hot shower and good water pressure too. My only negative note is that the TV in my room was having issues - the cable signal kept distorting or something so the picture would break up. Didn't affect me much. Also worth noting, my tv had a Netflix button but it didn't work - no internet connection. So, bring your laptop. read more

So this place needs major help ... my one star is for the staff who worked so hard to fix all the problems with the property. First the didn't have the ADA room with the King bed we reserved ( my husband is in a wheelchair). So they gave us a queen ADA. Because it's what the had. Ok ... we get upstairs and the toilet is leaking ... I go to call the front desk ...there is no phone .... NO PHONE?!?!. So I go down stairs ... I lead with there is no phone ... oh yay ... they are working on it ... ok ... so they send someone for the toilet. He will need to replace it and band around is that ok... sure we are going out for few hours. Come back think it's fixed ... middle of the night I go in and surprise wet socks ... so gross... no not fixed and still no phone. Also they didn't have shower chair in the room and when I went down the first time I asked them for this. They sent up a rickety rusting low chair that I sent back. I believe the sweet manager went out and bought another and assembled it and then brought it to us. Again staff making up for poor property. Next day I let them know in the morning about the toilet and around lunch they offer to move us to an ada room down stairs ( also not king) but the toilet is not leaking and there is a phone ... that phone makes weird noises because it's wireless and keep turning on and off ... crazy .... The staff gave us free parking and free breakfast as their way of apologizing . I have called Marriott to let them know their property is in need of repair and attention. And they gave me a reference number ... that was over three week ago .... Still nothing. Properly is convenient for location Downtown but not worth the hassle read more

An unusual Marriot reno in place. An old pants factory when conversion could not touch the outdoor industrial windows and facade. It stands alone juxta-downtown where the parking is a field like cement lot behind it. Park and truck back. And leave room's curtains comfortably closed as your view? Your car(s). The innards retain its industrial origin- cement ceiling, hotel rooms shaped into the spaces, with cathedral height ceilings, tall boxes parsed into bed and lav. In the hallways, the remnants of the interfloor spiral conveyances to move materials up and down. Lot of cement. And it's fine. And the surprise? Friday and Saturday late night large lobby jazz jam sessions that you'd pay top dollar for-- Just Martha, and some Grammy worthy singing. What, why, how? Wonderful. read more

I really enjoy the Aloft brand and if I could give it 5 stars I would. The entire experience was great from the convenient location in Pioneer Plaza, hotel staff and the awesome bartender. Really there was only two factors that hindered the experience just a tiny bit. One, was that there was only one working elevator. Not so much a big deal during slow times but when it was busy, getting back to my room took a while. The other factor was the unpleasant smell of smoke and marijuana in some areas of the hotel. These were the only things that bothered me about the Aloft here in Dallas. Besides that everything else was wonderful. read more

My Bonvoy account tells me I am close to 600 nights with Marriott/SPG, Lifetime Gold Elite, etc., and yet at this hotel, I can't even get the courtesy a first time guest should expect. I was assigned a low floor room with a tiny window in the corner only to discover my travel partner (not Bonvoy affiliated) who checked in immediately behind me, was given a room that the clerk actually took the time to describe how wonderful the view is to him. I heard this description as I came down to complain. Note: I couldn't call down to complain because the there was no phone in the room. I realized the phone was missing when I got to my second room and saw there actually was a phone, although the Dry Bar Shower Gel was empty, the safe battery was dead, and the TV remote had to be exchanged twice during my 3 night stay. When my coworker and I discussed it later, the only reason the two of us could come up with is that they have their race in common. Nice Aloft. I was given a new room with a wall of windows after complaining. Loyalty recognition seems to only occur if you push-it at certain Bonvoy locations. I booked the room through my company Concur system and with my company credit card. I gave the front desk clerk my personal credit card for incidentals. Of course EVERYTHING was charged to my personal credit card. Easy fix - right? Nope. Called hotel a couple days later, was routed to someone's voicemail. No callback. Called again and clerk told me to open ticket with Support. Called Support and they told me only hotel manager can take care of me, and they would have them call me. Did I get a call? - No. Today is two weeks. I have since stayed at two more Bonvoy properties without issues. Why is this location so problematic? Called the hotel again today, and was routed to manager Justin Merton's voicemail. Left a message and we will see if I get a callback. I am now under the gun to get my company expenses submitted for the fiscal year that ends today, My expectations couldn't be lower for this hotel. My wife and I made a reservation for two nights with the first night being a late checkin due to a late flight. Unfortunately our flight was rescheduled to 5 am the next morning and we maintained the prepaid reservation. We arrived in Dallas and arrived to aloft at 8-9 am the next morning. On arrival, aloft said reservation was labeled as a no show despite showing within our reservation window. Initially they stated they would give us a courtesy refund. The refund never came and they are denying the refund 2 weeks later. Very disappointed with hotel and their policy to prematurely call a prepaid room as a no show. read more

This hotel is like an Adult Youth Center. It's modern, trendy, industrial and fun. Located in downtown Dallas across from Pioneer Plaza and City Hall, it offers convenience and affordable prices in a historic building that has been updated to reflect the taste of young urbanites. We stayed here New Year's Eve, and it was the perfect location to take in the festivities. The hotel offers parking for $16 a day. We were able to nab a spot along the side, and there was a convenient side entrance with an automatic door. So many hotels have their side entrances locked down and only accessible with a key fob, but this hotel had a wide door that opened the moment your foot touched the mat. It was very welcoming. Plus, the outside speaker above the door was blasting some hip music that gave the place a party vibe and put everyone in an upbeat mood. Inside, the lobby was more like an adult playground. It actually reminded me of a startup during the .com era of the early 2000s. The color schemes were bright with splashes of orange and blue. The WXYZ bar took up an entire wall with its wide selection of hard liquor. There is a pool table, a double sided fireplace, a slew of different seating arrangements, and a grab and go snack bar. The reception is a small round kiosk that you walk up to from any side. It reminded me more of an information desk, and to a degree, it serves more as that these days. The Bonvoy Marriot encourages its guests to book reservations online, download their app, do advanced check-in via their app, and use the phone app as your digital keycard to access your room and other services like the pool and hotel fitness room. If you actually did this, you would have very little need to visit with the hotel receptionist, except maybe to get your parking pass and to place an order with the cafe. As far as I could tell, all of the rooms offer a king sized bed. Our room was on the 5th floor (6th is the highest) and was a suite that faced Young Street's Pioneer Plaza. I was expecting a room with a bed and bathroom, but was delighted to find we had been upgraded to a suite. In addition to our king sized bed and walk-in shower, our suite was furnished with a loveseat sofa bed, funky reading chair with overhead light, and a work table with two modern roller chairs. Despite the New Year's Eve festivities taking place on Young Street and throughout the hotel, our room was very quiet and we both slept through the night (although I'm sure staying up late and drinking several margaritas helped keep us in a state of slumber - lol!). This was the perfect place for checking out the fireworks at Reunion Tower at midnight. Although we couldn't see them from our room, we were able to walk outside the front door onto Young Street which was closed to traffic and view the spectacle along with the rest of the 20,000+ revelers at City Hall's Party on the Plaza event. It wasn't too cold outside, but when we wanted to warm up, use the bathroom or just get another libation, we could escape the chill and the crowd and step into the Aloft as needed. We thoroughly enjoyed starting the Roaring 20s at the Aloft and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others. If you do get a chance to go, check out the history of the 1924 building. It served as a former Santa Fe Railroad freight terminal and commercial dry goods warehouse. You can still see remnants of its history in the structure today. To read more about it, look up "Santa Fe Terminal Complex" on Wikipedia. Attending an event with kids and coming to Dallas for the first time. Since Omni was fully booked, I went for the second option, Aloft across street from the conference center. I regretted my decision to stay here. Pros: second best location for the conference center(first star). Staff is friendly and helpful(sending star) Cons: The design is intended to be industrial but the finish product is...unfinished maybe? I'm a multi family building developer. I kind of know the trade. Hire a better architect pls. Water pressure is not existing. I thought water conservation in California is bad... Carpet is old, need to be replaced asap. No USB charging port in year 2022 No luggage rack in a hotel. To make matter worse, I feel the carpet is too dirty for my suitcase. Breakfast sucks, lunch sucks...personal preference House keeping. I understand there is COVID protocol so I have asked for only new towel and trash removal everyday. During the 4 days I was there I had new towel for the first day. I loved our stay at this downtown Aloft location. It was right on the outside of downtown so easy to get to everything downtown or if you wanted to do some thing else you're right there on the freeway access road. When we checked in the girlie at the front was super nice and helpful. She got me checked right in and explained the amenities. The room itself was amazing. I usually get the standard rooms at a loft but this time I decided to upgrade to a suite. I can't even describe how much of a rockstar we felt like when we walked into this room the vibes were on point it was giving hot n hornee. It was giving rockstar lifestyle. It was giving luxury! The price was extremely reasonable compared to others in the area. The only thing that bothered me a bit was no parking garage. It was an open lot that anyone had access to. Though the times I went to my car at night, there were two security guards on the grounds. Their presence was felt, so that kinda made up for the lack of garage. They had a cute lil skinny pool that I wish I had that chance to use, maybe next time though. I plan on returning next time Im in Dallas. Room was clean, linens were fresh. Close to lots of Dallas hot spots. Would be a perfect 5 stars if they room service read more

Wife and I stayed her for 2 nights for a quick weekend jaunt to Dallas from Austin, the location is perfect for what we wanted to do, which we did not realize at first. It is a covered older building, much like a lot of Dallas, across the way is a series of bull status and a small graveyard. Dylan, the gentleman working the front desk when we got in late on Friday night was fun, friendly, and outgoing for so late. He was handling a small rush of people very well. We got our room on the 8th floor. It was clean and the whole vibe fits. A few things to keep in mind, no rooms service, crap to no breakfast, while it has a snack bar it is pretty limited, NO DR PEPPER AND WE ARE NOT THAT FAR FROM WACO!!! SHAME. They also do not have any supplies, Tylenol, toothpaste, that kind of thing for sale, the made it sound like they did at one point but got rid of it for some reason. The room was clean and nice, the bed is firm so if you prefer a soft mattress it may not be for you. There are several plugs right by the bed, the lights by the bed are a little weird, you have to turn on a main switch by the door and then the switches by the lights will turn them on and off, if that main switch is turned off, you can't control the lights near the bed Has a WXYZ Bar downstairs, we hit other places but the one we were at in Austin had decent drinks so I assume this one would too but who knows. For a few nights and given the location it is not bad. if you want to be able to eat at the hotel or rest in a day maybe not the best place though with all the food delivery apps you still could I suppose and cheaper perhaps. read more

Absolutely loved staying here! We stayed for a volleyball tournament at the Kay Bailey Hutchison CC. Location was PRIME! Our rooms included free breakfast and free parking which is an amazing deal. Free parking was for the entire stay so we saved $16/day. Breakfast was a $20 daily credit per room at the food place by the lobby. The selection was just right and the food was good. The staff was so kind and welcoming and the rooms were cute, clean and modern. I would recommend checking out the Exchange Hall a stones throw away for food and desserts. All in all, such a great experience! Shout out to Christian (night shift manager) for going above and beyond to help me find my daughters water bottle and to Demarcus who was so welcoming! read more

The hotel management team made me wait almost an hour for hair conditioner due to them having two shampoo bottles and shower gel in the shower. My phone didn't work and even after calling to report the issue with the phone, I didn't receive a replacement or assistance in fixing the issue. I was in room 908 and it had some plumbing issues toilet wouldn't flush and slow drain in bathroom sink. I made the front desk aware and was relocated to room 535 and the room was clean & plumbing was working appropriately except for brown water out of sink that soon cleared up! Again, the hotel is nice but the guests rooms are outdated. No insulation to rooms due to old infrastructure so it gets a bit of a chill but made for a great sleep-cation. There was an initial hiccup with one reservation that was booked through a third-party convention hotel block, but Charlotte and Roxanne quickly made it right. The rooms were clean, customer care was excellent, and the location was within very easy walking distance of Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Our team will definitely consider Aloft again when working in downtown Dallas. read more

Stayed here for a week for work. Picked it because of it's modern decor but it ended up being quite run down and cheap. My room was still dirty, especially the bathroom with sticky splash marks everywhere on the walls and light switches. The pillows were terrible and flat, had to stuff two in one case to make it usable. The worst part was on Saturday night. They rented their downstairs venue to a party and when it was over at 2am, all the people funnelled outside of the entrance, making loud noises until 3am waiting for Ubers to leave. It was like I was physically in a club line in my own room, as the single pane windows don't block out any noise. I would stay elsewhere next time. read more

Finding a hotel was the wife goal for our vacation, and she did a great job. Housed in a 1924 Santa Fe freight terminal the inside is unique to say the least. Staff was super friendly...we were planning on parking the car early and going to the Fair, but lucky for us our room was ready and we checked in...The room was just too cool...A mix of concrete, carpet, neon lights and a ton of room. We ended up back and the hotel by 6pm or so and really enjoyed our stay that night...I do wish the disclosed to overnight parking fee, but it was worth the extra $20. We would stay here again for sure....location is great....ton a restaurants around you..and the Giant Eyeball is with in walking distance. read more

Aloft looks pretty cool, but the room quality here is awful. We were here with a group and everyone's room smelled, the hallways and the elevator always smelled. I don't know how old this renovation is, but it needs a new one or needs someone to come clean it up and fix the smell and all the beat up stuff. Ya can't get a closer hotel to the convention center without being attached and the Aloft is just across the street, perfect for our yearly trek for the NCA Cheerleading Nationals. Word to the wise, Book this hotel a year out. I booked our room for the following year as soon it came available. The hotel was definitely decorated for the event with NCA decor, a balloon arch to walk through at the entrance as well as a table with NCA props for the kids to take selfies and photos with. We checked in around 8pm the Thursday before the big competition. The desk attendant was a little difficult to hear and understand due to the volume of the people talking, but we managed to get checked in. She didnt tell us we needed a pass for our vehicle if we parked in their small parking lot basically in the alley not affiliated with the city pay parking. I figured it out around 11pm just as I was crawling in bed when I just happened to check the details on my reservation. $12/Day, not too expensive but if I wouldn't have checked the details, I probably would have had a ticket the next morning. Dallas is great for ticketing cars during this event. The hotel looks to have been a historical industrial building before turned into a Hotel. I love the exposed cement pullers and exposed brick throughout the hotel and even in the rooms. The rooms are Studio type rooms with a industrial flare. I was in a King room which had a small office area once opening the door, and an open sleeping room, separated buy the bathroom area. The only doors where the entrance and the pocket door to the shower/ toilet. The king bed was very comfortable and offered two small nightstands on either side with electrical outlets. I loved the 1950s style nightstand clock, no digital LCD here... just a good old fashion clock!! There was a large 42" tv on a dresser pony wall that separated the bed from another sitting area by the windows that housed a boom lamp, two modern chairs and a small table. I absolutely loved the huge walk in shower with large rainwater shower head. Dont worry about bringing your soap and shampoo, there is a disperser in the shower!!! What I did not like was the curtains in the rooms. CON: If you're looking to sleep in a little after the sun rises... we'll you can count that out. The sun shines bright over the top of the curtains. BIG gap between the top of the curtains and the ceiling. Kitchen: I like the fact that they have a kitchen open until 11pm and breakfast from 6-10 am. However, I prefer the conventional breakfast of a buffet but their little meals are pretty filling. It also seems there is no control, I witnessed a couple people come down, take drinks and a breakfast taco and walk away without telling the front desk. Aloft has become one of my favorite hotels to stay at around the USA. It's unique vibes, decor and designs are new, hip and innovative. The room at this location had a real "loft" feel, with the tall windows and abstract style. We came for our anniversary/a work function and it was a great room and a great location. We loved being right off founders park with views of all the sweet 15 parties plus access to the cool parts of downtown. I arranged for an upgraded room which was nice but odd (see pole). But it did look like an actual loft. The bar isn't open very early which made our options limited. It's also lacking breakfast option worthy of a Sunday brunch. Expensive for the area and amenities but overall satisfied. I read more

Interesting decor, which ends up making the hotel very unique inside. The room I stayed it had exposed brick which was pretty cool. The room was very clean. Parking is on site and they have a huge lot that is around back but there is a charge for it per night. There is also an area inside the hotel that you can buy snacks and breakfast on the go. The lobby also has a bar which the drinks are good, but the food is not. read more

First off Josh and front desk helped out some weary travelers with an early check-in at noon. Room is very well-appointed comfortable and a one-block walk to the convention center where I was attending a conference. The last day we ordered the breakfast egg cups, I ordered the Paleo which was sweet potatoes hash with an egg, such a nice break from convention center buffet. Know that if you are in Dallas for a convention, this is a really great location. read more

Not impressed. Customer service was a hit and miss depending on who was there in the front. Hence 2 stars. Halls smelt of weed and cigarettes. Woken up a few a nights with yelling and screaming. Tells you a little bit about the crowd here. Parking for an empty lot that's pretty sketchy tbh. Outlets in rooms didnt work so I had to charge my phone by the desk area. Stains on sheets made it- questionable. Stains on towels as well so I had to request a new ones. Not worth it here unless yiu absolutely needed to stay close by. Should have gone to the Omni read more
