View of the freeway. Very noisy.

I'll start with the positives: front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the lobby area is very clean. It's close to Texas Tech University, so I'm assuming they get full during football games. The negatives: this is one of the most rundown Courtyard rooms I've ever stayed in. Not sure what happened to the loveseat. It looks like it was attacked by a mountain lion. Our room faced the freeway so there is constant traffic noise and the neighborhood seems a bit sketchy. Will not stay here again.

Ordered Cesar Salad entree but got a small side salad portion instead.

Stayed here for one night. Stay was ok. Just fine, but nothing special or out of the ordinary. Staff were very pleasant, nice and had no issues with room reservation. Room and bed was adequate and clean, just really outdated room. Otherwise fine. Not too many vegetarian food options on hotel menu, but hubby did order the Caesar Salad entree. Be warned, this salad is not entree sized, came in a small side salad container. Definitely wasn't priced out as a side salad.

Very close to Texas Tech, located across the highway but in a residential neighborhood so not walkable to restaurants. It's your typical Courtyard with the Bistro restaurant. Rooms are clean, updated with USB plugs at the desk and nightstand. Bathroom is also very modern with newer fixtures. Room has microwave and refrigerator.

This is one of the newer hotels in Lubbock. Its a few blocks walking distance from the stadium. The front desk staff isn't very friendly or helpful. They'll actually ignore you unless you address them directly and specifically ask a question. The cafe staff however is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are very very tiny. I was a bit surprised with the amount we were paying that the rooms would be almost the size of a college dorm. The beds are also pretty uncomfortable. They are rock hard and have a plastic layer over them (mattress protector) that makes this horribly loud crinkling noise when you move around. The walls are paper thin so you're able to hear your neighbors talking. There's plenty of parking available out front. Make sure to get a parking pass for your car noting that you are a hotel guest, otherwise your car will be towed. Overall this was an ok place. If you have kids they have a beautiful pool. Prices run pretty high during football season. I would probably stay here out of convince of the stadium but it's definitely not my choice for comfort.

For a Courtyard, this is pretty swanky. New rooms, beds, couches and desks, and the bathrooms are so modern I was surprised I was in a Marriott (almost felt like a big city Kimpton). Very attentive and helpful staff day or night, and the other amenities (pool and fitness center) easily surpassed expectations. This is a great model for how small to midsize market Marriotts should be built and operated. It will definitely be my first choice for lodging if business brings me back to Lubbock.

Brings more of the modern look to the rooms and lobby, which is different than most Courtyard locations.

This place is a little hard to find. But plenty of parking space!! It's decorated so nice and it's SO clean. I wish I had gotten more photos of everything, the place was HUGE and workers were very nice and attentive! The rooms for the groom and bride were spacious as well, if you're looking for a venue for an event, I would definitely recommend this place!

To tell the truth, I was surprised certain wedding attendees made it on time since it's so secluded. Lol. My cousin and his long time significant other finally recently got married here. It was perfect for their laidback lifestyles. The bride's mother - who is a friend of mine - and their family all enjoyed planning their event and working with the employees here. The ceremony took place outside at the gazebo. Guests found their seats on wooden benches. Soon after, the party started in the barn a short walk away... a few chandeliers, rustic interior, and beautiful decorations adorned the space. The restrooms were always very clean and tidy. The bartenders, provided by Horseshoe, were friendly and quick. Security was also provided by Horseshoe, but I was a bit taken aback by uniformed sheriff deputies. Nonetheless, no one got kicked out or arrested, not even my rowdy husband. Overall, this is a charming place for a wedding venue or a special event. Highly recommended. '18 Challenge #28

Every table is a small with four seats, which makes it harder to mingle and get to know other people. My biggest complaint is the food and service; the beef was mostly burnt chunks, the sausage was bland, the tortillas were dry, and insisting that one person serve from two meat trays for 500+ people made it take forever. They had to start the program while half the people were still in line so that the schedule for the whole night wouldn't be thrown off. They even made a big deal about forming two lines and going down both sides of the table, but Chuck had to mete out the burnt beef, weird tortillas, and nameless sausage one person at a time. Then, after serving yourself beans, corn, and potatoes, the peach cobbler was pre-portioned in servings of about three tablespoons! And it was cold. Worst "Texas BBQ" I have ever had, even compared to other event centers. Staff came through while the kids were doing awards and took plates, even though some of them had barely started eating. I will never recommend 4BarK as a location for an organizational event. Two stars because none of the staff was actively rude. P.S. The restrooms are labeled as "Stables" and are about that nice - gentlemen might as well go urinate on the barn wall out back.
