The main space is expansive as we easily entertained & seated about 150 guests with plenty of space to dance, eat & sip libations!!! There is a adorable back bar area to serve guests from! Outside there are multiple cocktail tables & ample space if you want to get hitched outside! A multitude of picturesque spots & inclusive of an antique red, remodeled pick up!! There is a separate cute building with a fireplace to convene as well. They set up the tables & chairs & take these down & clean up. Price point is very reasonable for inclusions. Cotton Creek Barn had my review removed stating it "depicted an experience not at this location".... I have dozens of photos to prove that we were at THE Cotton Creek Barn in Tahoka, TX. The food was awful: the chicken was dry and tasteless, macaroni-and-cheese tasted like a box mix, definitely not homemade, scalloped potatoes were bland tasteless (no salt/pepper shakers were available), cupcakes were dry. Definitely the worst wedding food we have ever had. We talked about how bad it was all the way home. The servers wore cut-off blue jean shorts & t-shirts, for a wedding. They started picking up the table runners before the wedding was even over, which caused a drink that someone had left on our table to spill all over my glasses which were on the table. We were standing right there, but she did it so quickly that we didn't have time to even offer to pick them up. Then when she saw that they were ours (we picked them up and were shaking them off), she just kept going like it was our fault. No apology.

The owner was rarely available, which made it extremely difficult to get clear answers when important decisions needed to be made. She had two assistants who were genuinely wonderful and very helpful whenever we spoke with them. However, when it came to bigger questions or final decisions, they often didn't have the authority or information to give us an answer. Because of this, we frequently found ourselves waiting for responses or struggling to get in contact with the owner, which created unnecessary stress during wedding planning. Another issue we experienced was after the event. We accidentally left behind two large pots and an electric pan. While we understand that leaving items behind was our mistake, we were disappointed to learn that they had been thrown away rather than someone reaching out to us first to see if we wanted to retrieve them. The assistants were kind and helpful throughout the process, and we appreciated their efforts. However, the lack of accessible leadership and consistent communication made the overall experience frustrating.

The décor, aesthetic, and layout made for a beautiful backdrop for my daughter's wedding reception, and the day-of staff were kind, apologetic, and genuinely tried to address issues as they came up. That part of the experience was appreciated. However, the coordination leading up to and during the event was deeply disappointing -- especially for such a significant occasion. The cocktail hour was scheduled to begin at 2:30, but the setup team had it listed as 3:15, creating immediate confusion. When cocktail hour did start on time, we waited for appetizers we were told wouldn't arrive until 3:00 -- and they didn't actually show up until 3:30, leaving only 15-20 minutes before the hour ended. The bar situation was equally frustrating. I had paid for 200 beers to be available during the cocktail hour, which flowed into the reception. However, once those ran out, I was told there would be no additional beer available -- despite having specifically arranged for a cash bar with four beer options to continue through the reception. At that point, staff said they would have to try to source beer from the neighboring restaurant. That is not something guests should ever hear at a paid, planned event. Dinner brought another surprise: the tortillas provided by the neighboring restaurant were frozen, causing a 10-15 minute delay for fresh ones to be prepared. Dinner gets 5/10. Most of these issues trace back to communication problems with our coordinator, Rose. There were multiple instances where I requested information and received no response -- yet when payment was due, I received an invoice and a call at 3:30 PM demanding payment by 5:00 PM the same day. The venue has real potential and the space is genuinely lovely. But coordination and follow-through need significant improvement before I could recommend it without reservation for a major event.

It's BYOB, which I'm wishing I'd known prior but next time I'll be bringing wine for the fun! $65 for the project may seem steep to some, but considering you're allotted 3 hours for the project completion (if needed), the expertise of the staff, and all the supplies, the price is certainly reasonable. There was another group there as well for a mom's night out, so it's an excellent spot for date night or fun with the girls. It's also a relatively spacious area. Our total group was 8 people, which was the smaller end of their usual. A class of 26 was scheduled for the next night, so big groups don't have to shy away from participating. They do ask you to book ~48 hours in advance so they can prepare your project's design so it's not an easy walk-in place to go for a fun time. I can't wait to return to make more beautiful decor to add to my home. If you have the opportunity to stop in, I highly recommend doing so.
