    Dirty stain sofa

Staff was friendly and efficient. Not much they could do to solve the problems. This property is worn out and needs remodeling or closure. Facilities overall are outdated and depressing. Our room: In room telephone did not work for two days. Staff said system had problem would be fixed in a day or two. Bathroom sink was clogged. 2 foot piece of wallpaper was torn and hanging. Looks like water damage. Mattress was worn out and saggy. Furniture was worn and outdated. Sofa was dirty and stained.

We had a family issue and had to stay here. this is the worst courtyard I've ever stayed in pillows had a mildew smell shower curtain rod, looked like at anytime it was going to pull the wall down and if you went out any of the side exists you couldn't get back in because none of the doors would read the key card glad this was for only one night

Musty-smelling hotel room on a crime-ridden road. While traveling for business, I was recommended this Courtyard to be an affordable and convenient option. As soon as I told some locals and Uber drivers where I was headed, they would ask me in very concerned manner, "you're staying off Carmichael!?" I came to find out that the road is ridden with crime. Conduct a simple Google search and you'll see arrests made on Carmichael Road in various cases of suspects accused of kidnappings, burglaries, drug deals, murders, etc. As a woman traveling alone to a different city, all of this was very unsettling and made me feel extraordinarily uncomfortable. The lobby is deceiving because it's renovated, but things need to be updated including the bathroom and the pool. With all this said, the two attendants who checked me in and out were professional and nice, hence why I'm giving the hotel two stars. I won't ever stay here again as feeling safe is my no. 1 priority while staying in a hotel.

DONT STAY HERE... This place is a real dump! The lobby will have you fooled! Im highly disappointed and disgusted. carpet filthy, crack in wall, furniture filthy, it's smelly. the price of the rooms doesn't match the quality of the rooms. tv was out. I had it switch rooms and was still disappointed. DONT STAY HERE

The hotel lobby is presentable and misleading. Once I got to my room it was a struggle to open the door. Upon entry, I can tell there was no attention to detail by whoever "cleaned" that room. There was a used mask on the couch, stains on the table stand and even the remote was greasy (yuck)! The bathroom was average and also didn't seem properly cleaned. The cleaning staff needs to take more pride in their work. Other than that, the room served its purpose. I didn't feel comfortable and had already changed rooms. Couldn't imagine changing again.

I stayed here for 12 days on business. As soon as I waked in, I tried to go somewhere else. Unfortunately, there was a lot going on in Montgomery while I was there and everything else was booked. Yep, first impressions mean a lot. They weren't good here. It took quite a while to check in. There were some complaints before me, which took time to resolve. The receptionist didn't seem like she could do much. The property overall is old and dingy. The hallways are dark. The curtains in the hallways are old and worn. I was hesitant to use the laundry room because I felt dirty just walking in there. The gym equipment is about to fall apart. Customer service is poor. I leave good tips to housekeeping normally. At least bring me some coffee!! Several days I had to go to the front desk to get refills packs. Not good. The front desk staff was ok, depending on when you went. Evening and afternoon were good. Morning, not so good. I had an early flight out of Montgomery and had to leave at 4am. I couldn't check out the night before (apparently a system limitation), so I checked out before going to the airport. The attendant claimed he couldn't print a receipt. After I pushed back a little, he clearly could print a receipt. This is NOT what I would expect from a Marriott Courtyard. Do yourself a favor and try to stay somewhere else.

some type of insect bites from an overnight stay

Stayed here in August 2018 against my better judgement which I regret now because it was a horrible experience. The rate per night for a second rate hotel was very high so I began walking away from the front desk to go stay at a Hilton property with a much better rate but much further away from my function. The Mgr told me they'd match Hilton's rate but it would be an hour before a room was ready, well two hours later I was told my room was ready. Well when I open the door to room #1 ( pictures below ) I noticed that the room was not clean. It looked as if it hadn't been touched since the last guest left. I went back to the front desk and told them about the room, they followed me down there as if they didn't believe me and once the saw the room the apologized and told me they'd get me another room. But when I got to room #2 I walked inside and discovered that the room was already occupied ( glad I wasn't shot ) because of the hotels mistake. Again I went to the front desk and they realized their mistake ( again ) and they decided to get me a third room ( room #3 ) and personally walk me down there to make sure everything was ok, which appeared to be. So I decided to stay and I moved my things in. I woke up the next morning itching and that's when I noted several bite marks on my legs ( pictured ) and I called down to complain. A few moments later a manger and house keeping supervisor arrived at my room and began inspecting my bed. A few moments later they huddled up and then made a determination to remove all of the linens and I mean all of them including the bed cover. I was told that I'd be compensated for for the two I was booked and that I would be refunded all of my expenses. But as of today March 2019 I have only been credited for one night not two. I have called several times, asked to send the pictures I took and begged not to share them. Well I still don't have any answers or credits so I'm posting my displeasure. It's my fault I should have went to Hilton, they usually don't make these kinds of mistakes but if they do they fix it.

What is that? The bathroom light had "something" in it. We didn't see a tail, so we don't think it is a mouse.

The Courtyard is underwhelming. I will praise the front desk employees though. Everyone was very kind and attentive. Once we left the lobby and made it to our room, I realized I made a mistake booking here though. The room was fair. The bathroom was disappointing and dark. I think there is a mold issue because I have allergies and got a headache within an hour of entering the room. I took medicine and still woke up with a headache and so did my son. The room was humid. I have always loved staying at a Marriott, but I won't return here. It is pretty run down overall - I'm guessing Marriott bought out another hotel and tried to revamp. I was also disappointed when my son and I exited our room for dinner and the house keeping staff was conversing quite loudly and used some expletives. Not acceptable.

I stayed with a roommate at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa from Jan 7, 2026 to Jan 8, 2026…read moreas part of a Road Scholar tour program. It was the most luxurious of the three hotels in the program. Photos shown include our room 317. The room included two queen beds, a reasonably large desk, a door to an adjoining room, two religious literature (a Gideons' Holy Bible, and The Book of Mormon) in the nightstand, ample closet space, and "high-tech" light switches that required some head-scratching to use them. The bathroom had both a bathtub and a shower stall. I used the latter. The bed pillows were fluffier than those of Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead, so I needed just one to sleep on. I had to contact front desk and maintenance staff for a "Do Not Disturb" sign as the room did not have one. Sadly, it did not prevent room service from entering the room the next day to make the beds and re-fluff the pillows. My sleep was not impacted but my impression of the overall service was. On the first night, our group went to a private room for dinner. We walked from one end (where our rooms were) to the other end of the hotel. Food was catered in-house as evidence by the serving staff in their hotel uniforms. On both mornings, we had breakfast at The House. It was buffet style with plenty of choices and plentiful in volume. Since we had coupons, we didn't have to pay a cent. However, I didn't give my coupon to the waiters both times and still ate for free. But I sat with my fellow group members so it wasn't an issue. For second day's dinner, I ordered mozzarella sticks to go from The House. It was pricier than I would like, but it kept me fed. There was only one laundry room and it was located on the second floor. It was free of charge but access to the room required the room key. I did my laundry on the morning of the second day. Did not have any issues with the washer or the dryer. It was nice of the hotel to provide a small lounging area just outside the laundry room where I waited until my laundry's done. The laundry room had two microwaves. Don't ask me why they were there. I'd have put them where the vending machines and the ice machines are. I did not try the spa. There wasn't sufficient time and the high price tag was enough reason not to. Nor did I patronize the performing arts venue adjoining the hotel. But there were plenty of lounging areas throughout the first and second floors. The one that I used for a private Zoom meeting was on the second floor, and had plenty of distance away from foot traffic for a reasonable expectation of privacy. If it was entirely up to me, I would not choose the Renaissance. It's out of my price range and I can easily find less expensive choices nearby. However, the stay was mostly pleasant especially when covered by the tour program. If you're willing to pay the price, it's worth it.

Although the hotel doesn't normally provide baby cribs, Ronesha and Shawana worked together to make everything happen. Their compassion, resourcefulness, and genuine concern for my family's well-being were truly remarkable. When I first checked in, my room had a strong smoke odor. Ronesha immediately apologized, found me another room, personally verified the issue, and even helped me move my belongings. Throughout my stay, both she and Shawana regularly checked in to make sure everything was going well and to see if I needed anything else. Outstanding customer service has become increasingly rare, which makes experiences like this even more meaningful. Ronesha and Shawana went far beyond their job responsibilities and turned a stressful situation into a wonderful experience.
