I debated writing this, but I truly feel like other brides need to be aware before choosing to work with Sharon. My first fitting went fine, but when I went to pick up the dress, I tried it on and it was about four inches too small -- nowhere close to zipping. Sharon admitted she had accidentally taken the fabric out of both sides of the dress instead of just one. I ended up sitting in her shop for over an hour while she tried to fix it, only to be told it wouldn't be ready for another few weeks because it was "prom season." I was leaving for my destination wedding in Italy, so my mom had to return later to pick it up after I'd already left. Sharon packaged it up, and once my mom met me in Italy, we took the dress out to steam it -- only to realize that a piece of the dress was missing. I called Sharon (she didn't answer), and she eventually texted me saying she had found the missing piece still hanging in her shop. My wedding was the next day. Thankfully, my mom worked with our hotel concierge to find a seamstress over an hour away who agreed to open her shop on a Sunday and hand-make the missing piece. My mom had to pay extra for this -- on top of missing out on my wedding day brunch that same morning in order to get the piece. After I shared a story on Instagram about this experience, five close friends reached out to say they had also had bad experiences with Sharon. I was frustrated no one had warned me -- which is exactly why I'm writing this review. Her mistake created a crisis that could have been avoided with more care, and I wouldn't want another bride to go through that. Often when we met, she would tack the dress, alter it right in front of me, have me try it on again, and repeat this cycle until it was perfect. I needed to get a dress hemmed a few months back. I was in a rush to get something hemmed, but also wanted to be reasonable to the tailors. I specified that it would be a last minute job, and Sharon took it. I even postponed the time to a few more days so she had more time since I ended up not using the dress for an event. I moved to a new city a few days later only to find my dress unfinished. You can see where the alteration was supposed to be cut, but it wasn't. The dress is the same length as it was. Had I known, I would have brought it back or ask for some accommodation. PLEASE check your clothes before you leave. I never had any issues with a tailors work until now. :( I regret not trying it on before leaving. Also please, If you need last minute work, make sure the tailor actually has time and is reputable. I was pleased with how well she took care of me while I was in store, but seeing that what I paid for is unfinished, I'm deeply upset. Will not be coming back if I ever move back to KC. read more

I wld NOT recommend this place. My soon to be daughter in law went here to get her dress altered for her wedding. The first appt went great. Sharon suggested lattice work for the back of the dress. Second visit, my dil tries on dress. OThe back of dress looks great. But my dil brings up she's not sure if it fits right and asks about letting it out some more. Sharon insists she's just not use to it yet. To give it a couple of weeks. I ask what happens after 2 weeks if she still wants it let out, what then? Sharon replies that she will "take care of it". During this visit Sharon's attitude has changed. She is condescending, she's snappy when she talks to us, and is very pushy trying to get my dil to change her mind about letting it out. So I pay for the work that she had done so far. Make our next appt for a fitting. She is going to do the hem next. Our last visit we show up and my dil has the dress on. Sharon has her walking around then has her TRY to sit. Guess what? My dil can't. She's afraid the dress will rip. (At this time Sharon is very hateful towards us) my dil tells her she's afraid it will rip when she sits cuz its obviously too tight! Sharon snaps that if it does she will fix it. (Very hateful) When pressed about this Sharon replies that her and her girls are "too busy" to let the dress out and all that it wld take to do so!! Incredible!!! She then tries to offer up that "after all, she gifted us the lattice work. And didn't charges us for it." Hmmm? Then what EXACTLY did I pay $164.00 for on our second app?? I then had to pay $210.00 for the hem work done. And didn't know what to suggest for the dress!! So we were basically screwed over by this lying, hateful, OWNER of the company. My dil was crushed. And I was so pissed I cldnt see straight. All of this happened over 2 weeks ago. I put off giving a review cuz I wanted a chance to cool off and not let it reflect my review. I contacted Sharon about 3 months before my wedding date after finding her on google and facebook. I was nervous about alterations because of the intricate detailing with embroidery and beading on my dress and scalloped train. Sharon put me at ease and delivered beautiful alterations and one heck of a bustle! I can only imagine the hours of handiwork with the beading and moving up my scalloped hem must have taken. She also took my dress in and was able to line up the beading seamlessly. I also bought a good quality hair comb and cathedral veil from her shop. I should add that I had a total of 3 fittings, and she always made the deadlines she set for us. She was an absolute joy to work with and is honest in her work.
