They have a wide variety of specials and stuff that I wish I had tried because they sounded very good, next time I am in the area I will probably try it out. The east end of Long Island used to be flooded (in a good way) with traditional NY delis. Over the years many have been replaced or upgraded to "gourmet markets". However, The Cove Deli is still serving up traditional German food with all of the usual items a real deli offers. Egg sandwiches that are fresh off the flat top that won't break the bank, a nice selection of hot and cold food for lunch, the smell of homemade authentic food wafting through the air, served up by competent clerks. The prices and portions are not geared to rip you off (although not a drop in the bucket), and it is consistent. No matter who helps you, it's always done the same, always delicious. Friendly customer service, good food but boy oh boy im not sure how they stay in business with such filthy fridges. Where they keep the water bottles, and other drinks. It so disgusting and gross i stopped buying my drinks there. Picture sticky gunk with large pieces of black God know what. I sure hope they deep clean the fridges. read more

I had cove delicatessen for breakfast today. First of all, I got there at 11 am and the only bagels left were 2 plain and a spinach. Yuck. So my husband and I took the two plain because who wants spinach? We both got them toasted with cream cheese. The cream cheese was just VILE. it wasn't creamy it was just cheesy. It tasted sour and had a ransid smell. It was very thick and way too cheesy. It tasted like sliced old cheese. But my husband and I were very hungry so we ate it anyways. We have been on the toilet, letting out number 2's the whole day. EW. Im not sure if the rest of the food is good here but DONT GET THE CREAM CHEESE especially if you're lactose intolerant or you dislike dense cheese. Good day! read more

All deli's are not created equal. Some of them just go through the motions and get you out the door as quickly as possible. Cove is not one of those. I've been going for a couple of years now, and probably am there once a month in the winter, and twice a week in the summer. I'm a creature of habit and get the same sandwich every time--and every time the turkey is fresh, the bread is really fresh, and the sandwich is big enough to satisfy my hunger, but not so big to make me feel like a total pig. I've had the same sandwich at about 20 other deli's, and the one at Cove is consistently the best. read more

If you make your own sandwich be sure to check it before you leave because they cannot get it right to save their lives. I go to Cove Deli so much, and every single time I ask to make my own sandwich they screw it up. If you're gonna get it wrong every single time you need to lower your prices :) I'll be checking my sandwiches at the counter from now on to save myself the time. read more
