I did order something vegetarian and it was an absolute tragedy. Husband will not let me live it down, that is how bad it was. I used to love this place. It's gone so far downhill. The staff is rude. They get so irritated if you ask for help and heaven forbid you call and ask if something is available. They actually try not to answer. The food has become worse as the prices have gotten higher. Sadly, we don't go there any more unless it's urgent. My review is more about a particular product versus the actual store. The store is a typical small supermarket which I am sure is fine if you are visiting or living in the area. I first heard of Cromer's Country Market on a cooking show about 10-15 years ago that featured its smoked Andouille and Kielbasa sausages. You'll find these at the meat counter. I have been stopping in to get these whenever I am out on the south fork ever since. Got some Andouille sausages yesterday. Yum! It's a little out of the way on Noyack Rd but worth it. Cromer's is our go-to for breakfast pancakes and groceries in a pinch. The staff is always so kind! They have all of the grocery staples you can think of if you're out in the Noyac area and don't want to drive all the way to a grocery store. The pancakes are absolutely to die for! Only deducting a star because I've had some very average sandwiches there. They tend to use the yellow, pale part of the lettuce (I swear I've never gotten a green piece of lettuce from Cromer's) and the sandwiches on the menu always seem to be missing something, in my opinion. I usually avoid anything with grilled chicken because the cutlets are typically pretty dry. However, I still recommend this place because there are plenty of things to order besides sandwiches. Four stars considering it is a deli/market. They have everything you could need for a weekend out East (dairy products,meat, drinks, snacks etc), especially if you didn't run to king Kullen on the way out. Yes some of their items are pricer, but it's all about the convenience. We always come for the hot foods- fried chicken, mac and cheese, pulled pork, gravy & mashed potatoes and steak fries. They sell everything by the pound in a variety of different sized containers. It makes backyard dinners a breeze & their food is never disappointing; it's all true comfort food. My only complaint is that they don't fill the containers up fully- like if you're charging me my weight just keep going! Don't leave air spaces, but that's just me. 4th of July Weekend... Place was jumping which made it very tight to move around. For the business they must do throughout the summer, they need to spruce the joint up a bit. Looks like it hasn't been redone since the 80's... Now for the important part... I was told they had a nice selection from the butcher and was not disappointed... After surveying the field, we came to a conclusion... THE TOMAHAWK RIB EYE! The butcher looked at me like I was crazy when I said, "cut it as thick as you can" He said, "sir that's probably 2.5lbs"... I said "Perfect!!" End result was a 3.25lb/ 52oz beautiful cut of meat... We were out celebrating my buddy's birthday and this seemed like the appropriate gift. Sea Salt, Cracked Black Pepper and a 3 am, 700 Degree Weber sear led to a top 5 steak I've ever had... The couple times Ive been there, I've only gotten the chicken and ribs because they're that good. Im really surprised because the food stays out all day and it doesn't get hard and dry like most hot foods in a steam table. I'm not too fond with their sides like their mashed potatoes or their salads (mac salad). I think it lacked a little something. But anyways, I could go without the sides....the chicken and ribs are that good :-) The place is very friendly, attentive, and takes credit cards! So many delis do not that credit cards so this is a huge plus for me. There's plenty of parking, but it's kind of hard to leave the deli because of on going traffic. The place is very clean and organize. It's pretty large so there are a few grocery items to accommodate the surrounding area because the next supermarket is in Bridgehampton and/or Southampton which is pretty far from that area. read more

Avoid the pulled pork at all costs! It's like going from being CEO of Goldman Sachs to managing a Pizzahut in Wisconsin. I am lucky enough to live near Cromer's. The butcher dept is the BEST in the area. All the meats are restaurant grade and the prices are good for the quality of meat. The deli is fabulous as are their signature Fried Chicken ( very tasty!) I used to travel to Southampton years ago when they were located there. When Tony bought the place from the Cromer's he kept the Fried Chicken and made the store even better. The produce and bakery goods are excellent too! Tony even imports Babka from Riverhead for the Holidays so I don't have to travel for that too! If you don't want to cook for Thanksgiving or Christmas they will do it for you and are open tii 3 on the holidays in case you forgot something. Bravo GREAT STORE!!!! read more

Cromer's has always been a great place for the 30 years we've been coming out here. The only downside was the inconsistent counter cashiers and the somewhat banged-up arrangement of the registers. Both of those liabilities have been fixed - major renovation is complete (much more light, easier flow, no more plexiglass!) and the folks at register are always nice (it's a two way street, folks, so be nice to them) - so there is nothing negative to say about Cromer's. And just one more plug - the butcher is the reason Cromer's is what it is. Those guys know their stuff and do not mess around. They'll answer any question and give you great tips on how to cook what you've bought. Best spot on Noyac road by a mile! read more

What can I say about Cromer's, have stopped in here quite a few times, for coffee, sandwiches, and soups, they have been really good, coffee is fresh every time, sandwiches have been tasty the breads have been nice and crusty, there California chicken sandwich good amount of chicken, nice toppings fresh, this soups are always hot and fresh beef barley is really good, chicken noodle and or chicken rice equally satisfying, staff is friendly. They also have an A+ butcher for when you want to throw together a last minute bbq with friends. The butchers at Cromer's are great. Excellent steaks cut perfectly to order. Thumbs up for produce department, and the hot food to go. Service at deli department always seems slow as molasses.
