This deli has been here for as long as I can remember coming out this way, and I was thrilled to see it was still opened during off season. We ordered a bacon egg and cheese to go. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance was giving clean, well stocked, and well organized. Prices are what they are given that it's Montauk. This was a very decent deli and bagel spot. They have all the sandwiches, paninis, and platter. There are chips, candy, and drinks. There is coffee - you scoop your own ice for the iced coffee. Coffee is self serve so you don't hold up the ordering food line! My Italian sandwich was good. PARENTS! They have chicken tenders and fries!!! The most important thing- they are fast! Incorrect order. Owner was rude and unwilling to correct it, called me unreasonable, difficult and other unsavory things all because I called to complain about the order. He slammed the phone down on me and cursed at me. Ordered a gluten free wrap, which they do not have. Ordered ketchup on the side instead received a soggy sandwich. All of this could have been settled with a simple acknowledgement and offer to amend, instead of all of this hostility. What a great deli added to Montauk! Grabbed sandwiches from here before heading to the beach. They were excellent. Felt the prices reflected most delis in the area. What makes them better however, is that the sandwiches are huge and really really good. I truly recommend this place. Also, wanted to add that we came in on a Saturday. They were very busy between phone orders, online orders, and customers ordering inside (like myself). The three women behind the counter were working really hard. I have never been to an establishment with such rude and unmotivated staff in my life. I've eaten here twice and have had good experiences so far. I would recommend calling in your order for even more ease. Their deli has a lot of great options for their specialists sandwiches and making your own. Unlike most restaurants around town, I feel that this restaurant is way more reasonably priced. My one complaint is that I ordered a cheese sandwich and they just stuck a whole half pickle in without slicing it and evenly dispersing it. That was a little strange. Love the M and R Deli! In a town of understandably overpriced eateries, they give you a surprisingly average priced meal served fast and delicious, whether it be one of the breakfast specials, or the delicious lunch sandwiches! Quite amazing since they are walking distance from the beachfront properties, on the main drag. My tasty full breakfast was less then I paid for a donut and coffee from the bakery, and the food is top quality! Highly recommend!!! read more

I've been in East Hampton for three weeks working and M&R happened to be right down the street and over the LIRR tracks from where I was staying. Discovered it on the first day and it was love at first bite. Have gone every day since for either a breakfast sandwich or lunch/dinner sandwich. I've done both and think I've tried everything; created my own sandwich and ordered off the menu. Delicious fresh rolls, Boar's Head cold cuts and cheeses, a plethora of beverage choices and it's just plain good eating'. We were stuck in the hotel due to rain , so we ordered through uber eats . We had an egg white veggie wrap and Two eggs platter. The food arrived hot and was delicious. My daughter said that the wrap was one of the best she has ever had. It was huge and stuffed with lots of veggies and cheese and hot sauce. My breakfast was also delicious, eggs were just right and bacon was crispy. I was only missing my coffee as they don't deliver it but OJ was cold and hit the spot. Great deli but worst customer service I've had in a long long time. I'm surprised no other comments say this because even back in 2020 (I spent the whole summer in Montauk and was a regular there) I remember always walking out of there in a horrible mood because everyone was just so rude. Young girl behind the counter looks like she'd rather be anywhere but there and seems like she doesn't know any word other than "yup". Bigger guy who took our order and made the sandwiches told us to "pay attention" when none of our sandwiches were even ready yet and the place was completely empty. If you want a solid sandwich this is the place. Roast beef was delicious. My fiancé had turkey and ham. Both pressed. Sandwich maker was a man of few words but for what he lacked in charisma he made up for in straight up skill making our sandwiches. Will come here every time we make it to Montauk. This is seriously the BEST deli we have ever had. We are vacationing in a beach front resort here in Montauk. I have already ordered from them TWICE!!! (Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow...our last day.) We ordered BLTs, sausage peppers & onion hero, bacon cheeseburger, fries, macaroni salad and "the Viking!) ALL OF IT WAS ABSOLUTELY OVER-THE-TOP AMAZING. We visit once a year and we have only just discovered this gem. The delivery is super quick. (Had our food hot and delivered within 20 minutes!!!. Where to start? This place is dope. You go in this joint and it has a local feel to it. Can you get a good bagel at Goldbergs down the street? Maybe. But why go there when you can have Noodles (aka Matt) lovingly bust your chops about that punny healthy sandwich you just ordered. Who's Noodles you ask? Well he's the dude that is usually wearing a shirt that he's had since he was about 4 and a half years old. His shirt is so tight that you can see the veins popping through because inbetween orders he does 150 push ups while Nicole is preparing his protein shake with a splash of HgH. Nicole, she's cool.
