Had one of my first tattoos here when I was 18 and just kept on coming back. They all do great work with any of the main artists. The guy I originally got was called Big John. He was great for a first tattoo and then the next time I came back was a special arm sleeve for my bicep in memory of my uncle. And he did this freehand with sharpies to outline it and the end result after sitting from open to closing hours to finish, was definitely worth it! I checked a few places on Yelp and came across Covenant. I called and they said they had walk-in availability so we went for it. We were paired up with Marty Sandoval. He was really personable and fun to talk to. His hourly rate is $100, which is extremely fair. He did mine first, then Jacob's. He had a very light touch and did a wonderful job on the design then application. Fair prices, good artists and it's located inside an old auto garage. After we were booked for a tattoo with "EZ", we sat and waited 1 1/2 hours only to be notified that "EZ" was done for the night. Sadly, i didn't have a good experience here. I went in to get my helix pierced roughly about 2 1/2 months ago. Megan pierced it and did great, we communicated when I started to get a irritation bump. When I went back in to get it looked at and suggest ideas to help my piercing heal.. Shane didn't let me get two words out when he responded with attitude & was inconsiderate. He recommended i use harsh methods to get rid of my bump like tea tree oil which will BURN my skin/bump off?? i received a nose piercing from here around 10 months ago. I had a stud in for a few months and it was a little irritated but I then wanted a ring because that was the goal in the end. She put the ring in and sent me on my way, I could not get this ring to heal for the life of me a bump had started to form and it hurt. So I struggled about 2-3 months with it and texted meg, she did try to help me I will give her that. My job recently cracked down on the jewelry policy, so I had moved home and could not get this nose ring off. So i proceeded to go to a different shop, i was extremely nervous because this piercing was hurting. The piercer there takes one look at me, and says "oh honey that's an earring that's not supposed to go in your nose and that looks really irritated! Did you put that in?" i proceeded to explain that it was another piercer. She explained that that was not to go in your nose and to never go to that piercer again. We pulled it out and it was extremely infected, and we couldn't even get another piercing into it. She explained I was likely allergic. I specifically asked meg if it was very hypo allergenic because I struggle with that regularly. She had said it was!! the other piercer explained that all surgical steal is technically but titanium is the one that I should go with. Long story short that was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

We came to CO on our honeymoon. I told my wife we needed to hang out in Fort Collins for the day. Out of spontaneity, we decide to get tattoos last minute....at 630pm. Jason took my wife and I in and did a phenomenal job. My wife got a Mickey Mouse tattoo and 4 doggy paw print. He knocked it out in less than an hour. I got my tricep filled in to complete a 12-year-old half sleeve. He blended in the new piece masterfully. It took him an hour and a half to draw, outline and color. He filled in everything dark but the one thing I said to fill in. Joe told us to come back in an hour and we did. He did all of us with no problems. The price is very competitive with the other shops. He made three of us very happy. Got my conch pierced by Shae, and it was an awesome experience! I'm used to piercings at this point and know for the most part what to expect, but she was very professional and explained everything to me. I would have given five stars but I recently went back to get the jewelry changed and got it changed by an apprentice under the other piercer, Shane's direction. It was a bit awkward and Shane was snappy with the piercing apprentice who apparently hadn't really changed conch piercing jewelry before. It made the experience a bit tense for me, especially when the piercing was still a bit tender. Overall would recommend this place for piercings, I would just rather see Shae than Shane due to bedside manner. read more

Came in for a touch up, which is awesome because they do free touch ups on tattoos that they did in the past. I wanted to get another tattoo afterwards and it felt like the artist - Michael did not want to take his time to make the lines straight or the shading smooth whatsoever. I overheard that he had an appointment 4 hours later, so i understand the need to go a little quick but really? charged me 200 for a tattoo that he finished in 50 minutes. Take your time bro. If an artist is only in it for the money than don't become a tattoo artist. Go somewhere where they're actually passionate about making the art look good on you're skin. read more

I came into this shop for a walk in tattoo with a friend of mine while in town visiting Fort Collins from Orlando. All seemed good with this shop. We were greeted by Mel, who was extremely professional, polite, and informative. When she went to set up for the tattoo, I heard a man start talking down to her telling her "tattooing is easy, and he can do her job". This was a big red flag for me, as most of my body is tattooed and I fully understand how hard artists work to develop their art and skills. I was hesitant on staying, but due to the friendliness of Mel, we stayed. She ended up doing my tattoo, and it is one of my favorites! Unfortunately, our experience with this man didn't get better. He came over and started harassing my artist while she started tattooing me, even after she kindly asked him to give her space she's working with a client. He then threatened to shoot her. I learned after his name was joel. The one star for this shop is for the unprofessional piercer creating an unsafe and uncomfortable environment. At any point my tattoo could have been ruined because of his selfishness and unwillingness to be a professional. Coming from someone who has been in all types of shops, no one needs someone like this on their team. I will not revisit this shop next time only because of him, and my friends feel the same. I hope management gets control of this situation and protects their female employees from this unethical treatment. PS THANK YOU MEL!!! Unprofessional, gross, rude So I walked in to get this beautiful piece done of two women in a queen of hearts card. I had been wanting it for a while I came out as gay and the piece meant a lot to me. There was an artist there with actual boxers on his face (his coworkers joke it's a dirty pair) as a face mask. That's unprofessional first of all and disgusting. Same artist darts making homophobic jokes while the man who is supposed to put a super meaningful piece on me is laughing while I'm sitting there with my girlfriend and he's making jokes about me being with my girlfriend. Matt the artist was super rude, tried to blow up a super simple piece and slap it on my thigh, and didn't listen to what I wanted at all. I could tell he was uncomfortable with the piece from the start I'm just not sure why he agreed and wasted my time if no one in the shop was going to be professional and mature. read more

If I could give this place less than one star I would. First off, the shop hours said they were open until 10, my husband and I showed up at 9:05. We wanted to get a tattoo for our wedding anniversary- nothing big, just the coordinates of our wedding location on our fingers. Granted it was a spontaneous decision, but we showed up- shop was empty except for a heavier woman and the piercing girl (who was way more pleasant) we walk in and the woman sitting at the tables idk if she was reception or what, but she just looked at us, didn't ask what can I help you with? So I said hey we're looking to get a tattoo and she quickly responded with "not tonight, by the time we set up and get everything ready it'll be time for us to close" So it must take them 45 minutes+ to get their shit in order which makes no sense. I've got at least 7 tattoos and I've never known anyone to take Longer than 20-30 minutes to set up. And that was for an entire piece. We needed a tattoo no bigger than 2 inches in black ink. Now, again the shop was EMPTY. We walked in and she was just on her phone. And she didn't even bother to ask what we were looking to get. Nothing. She just made it a point to make it known that they weren't interested in helping. And the girl doing piercings chimed in and said but I can help you if you want a piercing! Which I almost accepted but the other woman was just such a turn off that I wanted to leave. There's a tattoo shop down the street called freak show tattoo and they told us the same thing but they were actually busy! And the guy even asked us what we wanted to get and was extremely empathetic and encouraged us to come back. It was literally bullshit. All I'll say is the shop doesn't close at 10 it closes at 9... probably 8:30 given that woman's work ethic appeared to be less than sub par. read more

First impression of this place, was that it was super organized. Two friends and I had made appointments to get tattoo'd and we were asked by two different people who was tattooing us and no one ever told the artist so we sat and waited for 30 minutes. Two of us did not end up NOT getting my tattoo here, Joe, the artist I was supposed to be tattoo'd by was very unhelpful, impolite, & told me all of my ideas were dumb and drew it his own way. He took multiple breaks to smoke cigarettes while we were there. He then proceeded to tell the other friend that her idea was stupid and we don't get tattoos for ourself we get them for other people and she shouldn't get what she wanted. I walked out of that place in shock by the overall customer service and the ability to give customer what they are asking for. If you want your tattoo to be what you asked and for it to be a pleasurable experience I would not go here. read more

I'm writing a review for their sister store, Rocksteady. I was pierced by Taylor. I was first super appreciative of their hours (the only place open past 5 or 6 on a Sunday, weird time to want a piercing I know, but they were open late!). Second, I only paid for the piercing, whereas most places charge for the piercing and the jewelry itself; it was a fantastic deal. Third, I just got a follow up call from Taylor asking how it had healed, and it's been 2-3 weeks since I pierced it. That's a very thoughtful thing to do, and I've never had a follow up call from any other tattoo or piercing I've received. High recommendation! read more

I loved it when Shane K was there... When in to get a tattoo and I asked where he had gone and got told nothing so I got a tattoo from Marty and I was quoted one amount and then by the end all of a sudden it was twice what I was quoted. The work down on my ribs is blown out, splotched, and ink is falling out in many places. I was quite a few tattoos that was worth what I paid and the pain I had but my last tattoo done at Covenant, which only happened because no one would tell me where my artist went, was not worth it. I wanted it to be a tattoo that o could show off and I don't even want to. Thank God though...I found Shane, just down the road at Self Ink-Flicted...for anyone who isnt sure a out which artist to go to or you aren't really impressed with any at Covenant, go to Shane! The only thing I will be returning to Covenant for is when my little sister gets her nose pierced. They will not get my business and I would not refer them. read more

to start, this chain of businesses (rock steady, covenant, and freak show) kicks ass! i've got 10 piercings that were all done at covenant and my boyfriend has gotten 3 piercings and a tattoo at rock steady. however, i got my navel pierced here a few years ago, and while i like the piercing, it was done with poor jewelry and it wasn't actually pierced through my navel. after reading a lot, i know it's because my belly button sits lower, but that was never explained to me and now i have two large holes in my stomach (from the low quality jewelry rejecting) that i have to figure out how to get removed or redone properly. i also got a tattoo with my family a couple years ago and i really don't like it. the artist went way too deep and it's very blown out and permanently raised because of scarring. the guy that did it is very nice and does good art, but my body is permanently damaged by those guys i really trusted. i'll keep going back for different artists, but i will never let those guys touch my body again for fear of more permanent damage. if you're going to go here for a piercing i would recommend talking to them thoroughly about what you want and what they're going to pierce before. for a tattoo, i would look at the artists healed work because while they have great artists, some of them don't understand how to not permanently damage someone's skin. read more
