Would not advise getting pierced here! I have several piercings- including some very sensitive areas. And never once have I had the amount of swelling I had when I got my nose pierced (my third nostril piercing) as when I did here. Some swelling- yes. Completely normal. But the problem was that she pierced me with jewelry that was way too short to allow for that swelling. Within 24 hours my nose swelled all the way up the bridge and the jewelry was imbedded and it hurt so bad I couldn't even yawn or move my face. Took the jewelry out and switched it to allow the swelling, and immediately felt relief. Any experienced piercer should know better than to place short jewelry on a freshly done piercing! Like I said, I have several and recognized the issue quickly, but this could cause severe damage and trauma for someone. Side note- my sister got her naval down at the same time here- and hers is bruised badly and jewelry also barely able to accommodate the swelling. read more

Have been in and out of Tribal Rites over the last 20 years. This is the only place i would personally go to get piercings done in Fort Collins. The staff is knowledgable, and they make you feel comfortable even if you are feeling any level of distress. The building is clean. There are many choices for jewelry and the prices are fair. Over the years - i have taken my son there to get his ears pierced. For myself, i have had my tongue pierced a couple of different times and my nose pierced a few different times. Different phases of life and taking piercings in and out is why the several times. I went to another place in town one time for a belly button piercing and ended up with a massive infection. That was the only time i dealt with infection from piercings and it was pretty horrible. I have never had that issue with any of my Tribal Rites piercings. I love this place. I've consistently come to Tribal Rites for my piercings after my first good experience getting three piercings on my lobes. I then came back for a nose piercing, and even after moving to Denver I still come back. I made the trip up yesterday for a septum piercing and I can't believe how simple it was. It lasted maybe five minutes and hurt about as much as a little bee sting. I'm still shocked at how little it hurt. I forget the piercers name, but they were tall and slim with tattoos everywhere and brown hair -- they were amazing!!! I've had a couple piercings done by Kieyla recently as well as visited the shop multiple times for new jewelry & placement of retainers prior to a surgery, and always had great experiences. All of the staff is super friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and they clearly have plenty of practices in place to provide a safe experience (pre- and post-pandemic). Currently, they are running appointment only for piercings, require masks the whole time, check your temperature and have you use sanitizer when coming in, and have a waiver for COVID as well. All staff was wearing masks and gloves and customers cannot touch jewelry options. I felt very safe coming here! They told me they were fully booked but that I could try my luck with a walk-in appointment. After trying two other locations unsuccessfully, and as a local, knowing that TR is the place to go, I decided ultimately to show up and see if they could fit me in. My gamble paid off! I chose my jewelry - some really beautiful options - for both my nose piercing and to replace the tragus jewelry I had recently lost. Everything was very bright and clean. All employees were masked and gloved. The appointment was quick and friendly. It's definitely not cheap but this isn't one of those things you should cheap out on, you know? I think I spent $110 for the piercing and two pieces of jewelry, plus tip. I wish I could remember the name of the piercing artist, but my brain isn't built like that after a couple of kids. I came here to get my first tattoo and had the most amazing experience. When I walked in, I could immediately see that the place was super clean and professional. I didn't have an appointment l, but I asked if there were walk ins available today. I showed the woman behind the counter what I wanted, and she said she would go see if anyone was available. The guy who ended up doing my tattoo was named Michael. He was super nice, and worked with me on what I wanted because it would have been difficult in the location I originally wanted it. While he set up, I noticed that he was wearing gloves and taking new needles out. Very hygienic. I mentioned it was my first tattoo, and so he was really nice the whole time because I had a lot of questions. He went slow at first so I could be accustomed to how it felt. My tattoo was very tiny, so it didn't take that long but he made sure to ask if I was happy with it and double checked his work before he was done. He also allowed me to bring my friend back with me so I could hold her hand during. Overall, my experience with tribal rites was amazing. The best piercing experience I've had so far! I was a walk-in for second lobe piercings on a Saturday afternoon. My first impressions of the place were that it was clean, bright, and full of character! Everyone (customers and employees alike) was masked, and the jewelry counter was lined with plexiglass dividers. The shop was busy, but the people at the counter were super attentive and kind. The person helping me pick out my piercing jewelry was endlessly patient with me as I deliberated, showing me piece after piece and helping me pick items that were within my price range but also the materials I wanted -- I went with two teeeeeeny tiny 14k gold studs of a star and a crescent moon. They let me take my time and didn't push me out of my budget. You'll pay within the $30-$40 range for the actual lobe piercing service, and then pay for the jewelry as well as the backings. Add in a good tip (seriously, please tip well!) and the aftercare soap/spray, and it's definitely a pretty penny but very much worth it. I took maybe 15 minutes to pick my jewelry, and then sat in the waiting room downstairs. After maybe another 15 minutes, I was shown into a room where Chad got me settled. My earlobes are slightly crooked (one hangs a bit lower than the other), and he was great about picking locations that were visually even without looking like we'd overcompensated for the difference in lobes. He explained every step of the way, chatted with me about Fort Collins as I've just moved here and am still getting to know the town, and checked in on how I was feeling throughout the piercing process. I felt calm and at ease. That was yesterday - my piercings bled a little overnight but that's pretty par for the course for me. I didn't experience any piercing pain while sleeping, which was a first! The soap and spray they sold me have been helping immensely, and I'm so excited to see how my piercings heal. read more

Totally got my nipples pierced on a whim today. I had been thinking about it for many months and finally summoned the courage to just go for it! I have tattoos and have had several other body piercings, however something about the nipples really scared me. I was nervous as hell. I decided to go to the shop and just ask some questions about the process, pricing, etc.. Ashley was the sweetest, friendliest, most supportive and caring person! My daughter and I recently got tattoos with Katherine Smith at Tribal Rites. The entire experience was great. Right when you walk in the door, the first thing you notice is that Tribal Rites is spotless and well lit. The main floor is where you check in and they sell body jewelry. The jewelry displays definitely have a nice jewelry store vibe. The attention to detail in the way the store is displayed, lit, and managed immediately made me feel like we were in the right place to get our first tattoos. We met with Katherine for our consultation and were lucky enough that she had one opening about a month later where she could work us in rather than her normal 2-3 month wait. She helped us with our designs giving us her professional opinion and coming up with the perfect size and locations for our tattoos. We were both getting two small tattoos but they were special to us and she made them perfect. While our tattoos were small and pretty simplistic, her other work we saw was beautiful. I was pretty nervous for this piercing because I heard the tragus is one of the more painful cartilage piercings. I was not looking forward to the pop of the cartilage that this piercing is known to have. But right when I walked in the atmosphere was clean and relaxing it automatically calmed most of my nerves. All of the people were very nice and supportive. I had Kieyla pierce my tragus and she talked me through the whole thing. The pain was very low and I couldn't really hear the pop. The pain subsides very quickly and I can't even feel it 10 minutes after. It looks very good! :) read more

i want to preface this by saying, i do not like it here and don't think i'll come back. i came in to get a navel piercing done, and it was so low, and super crooked- then when i went back, i was gaslit by two of their piercers, one being the one who pierced me originally. i walked out of there not wanting to argue, and went back the next few days and saw someone new. she noticed immediately and repierced me free of charge. she was so sweet. it then got incredibly swollen and i went back for a longer bar, and was told to go back the day the swelling went down, and so i did that: and they all were like "um... okay" and changed me out to a shorter bar. i kept saying that "if you think i need the longer bar, i'll keep it" and she was like "it should be fine" it wasn't and i ended up going some place else. i've been here 8 times for one piercing over the span of a month. not worth the hassle go somewhere else. Christel was great working with me and helped me prioritize what was most important to me. I gave her a picture of palm trees, a dock, and my grandfathers boat. She helped me piece together each photo into a beautiful scene in Marathon, Florida. The half sleeve itself took a total of 7 hours, 5 for the first session and 2 for the 2nd.
