Tonya and her team were instrumental in our ability to get our event moved from November to September. Blood's supplied all the rentals and did a phenomenal job catering! Mindful of all of the new Covid-19 guidelines they were able to keep us compliant and make our event special. The food was exceptional and the service was impeccable. (So good) They also had what I think were roast beef sliders (or something similar) which many people raved about!! Our stay was lovely except for the second night, we left the sign for housekeeping on the morning to clean our room and change the towels. Lo and behold we got in late around 10 pm and the bed was undone, which is fine with me BUT the towels were still on the floor!!! They don't have any staff in house at night. When I checked in late the previous night the girl I spoke to said she'll leave the room key and instructions on how to find my room on top of the front desk since she's gone by 8:30-9 pm. Anyways I followed the instructions to call this number at night if we need anything, guess what?!?! the phone was ringing at the front desk. I called multiple times from my room phone and courtesy phone next to the front desk and same result-the phone was ringing right next to me!!! We were very frustrated, I even wrote "need fresh towels" on a piece of paper and held it in front of the camera at the front desk hoping someone will see it. No such luck, I also messaged thru Expedia that night to no avail. I ended up using toilet paper to dry myself after I showered! I was very frustrated. The next day the owner's son apologized to my husband stating he thought the sign was for "do not disturb" and told us he's working on the problem because the phone calls at night wasn't getting transferred to his cell phone. I know for a fact that calls were not being transferred even the night we checked in late, an elderly guy thought I work there and needed help with something. I told him to call the same number and same thing happened, the front desk phone kept ringing. In a positive note, breakfast served in the mornings were good. When we checked out, the owner also apologized for the snafu that happened.

We were seeking a short stay for a sleep before boarding at Ragged Mountain. Patick, the manager…read moretook our reservation and once we arrived, pampered us during our 12 hour stay. We arrived around 7 PM after an easy 3 hour drive from the Cape. Patrick enthusiastically welcomed us. We had brought our dinner and wine and he set us up in a little table, providing wine glasses and offering us homemade cookies for dessert. These little touches meant a lot. The Inn from the outside, is quaint. Inside it's got little touches to create a warm welcoming vibe. This place is perfect for families with the game room and indoor pool. The common area had a game room and small library (old titles). The big screen TV was used most of the night of our stay by some cute kids. Our room was small and featured a double bed which was a bit tight for us. The bathroom was equipped with L'Occitaine apothecaries. Such a nice touch. The shower was hot and there were plenty of towels. One thing Patrick alerted us to was, the place is not quiet. He was right. Doors slammed and voices could be heard easily. You could hear water running, toilets flushing and more. With that said, we went with the flow and by bed time, it was silent. We are used to B & B's so expected this noise factor. Thankfully, our neighbors went to bed early. The room rate included homemade breakfast. They serve delicious gourmet tea and good coffee. There was homemade muffins (wish they were hot). I chose an omelette and my boyfriend chose the egg sandwich. Our server was really sweet and did everything to insure our experience was wonderful. The food was good and filling. We departed at 8 AM to hit the slopes for first tracks. The only negative was the smell of pot pourri that permeates the public areas. I am highly sensitive to smells and was uncomfortable. We had a very small ceremony outside. The grounds are breathtaking and the rooms extraordinary. The food was outstanding from a scrumptious breakfast to an outstanding barbecue for our guests. He was always present to lend a hand. The weekend was a huge success thanks to Patrick, his staff and the beauty of the New Hampshire Mountain Inn, most certainly a place to you must stay.

Breakfast was do-it-yourself based on contents of the fridge, breakfast bar and keurig coffee maker (not deluxe, but adequate). Room was large (and AC was working fine) but decor was random and impersonal. King-sized bed was very comfortable and tiled shower bathroom was clean and functional. Note that the Inn is FOR SALE (last 500 days), so this may explain lack of attention to anything more than basic accommodation. I was unable to speak to anyone in management about having a late checkin -- they only respond to email (not phone) and not promptly and not on my first attempt. This was very odd. For the price ($281, with taxes), I think it should have been a lot nicer. Town is very quiet (actually pretty dead) and many businesses appear shuttered. There is however, a lovely park at the end of the property (after the tree swing) called Paradise Park. This made for a nice walk in the morning. I was glad we discovered this on our own as the innkeepers were non-existent. Pleasant enough, but .... not exactly what I was hoping for at this price.

The handsome brick Georgian building is set in a…read moreacre of land, with gardens around, and a grassy hill overlooking Paradise Park and its pond (The hill is awesome for stargazing! A real treat for city-folk!) The staff is friendly, but not intrusive, and helpful when asked for advice about the area. While the Inn is pricey, you get what you pay for. Our room (Room 7 on the 3rd floor) was huge, with a mix of country and mid-century furniture, a very comfy king size bed with crisp clean-smelling sheets, bureau, and windows on two sides looking out over the street and grounds. It was painted a muted light green with white moldings and doors, and wide pine floors. There's a big LCD tv on the wall, with cable as well as a blu-ray player with access to Netflix, Pandora and YouTube (if you have accounts.) Also a few dozen movies in the Library to borrow (we watched a couple movies.) I peeked into several other rooms, and i don't think you could go wrong with any of them, all huge and very nicely appointed. The room was immaculate and also featured radiant floors in the 4-peice classically styled bath, which included a claw foot rub (outfitted with bath salts), a subway-tiled shower, and a quirky exposed beam running through one corner of the space. They have L'Occitane products A small vase of fresh flowers in the bathroom was a nice touch. The room had an efficient, quiet spit AC / heat unit, as well as supplemental old-style radiators (for winter stays). There is free, open WiFi throughout the house. The continental breakfast was what you'd expect - bagels, pastries, yogurt, cereal and boiled eggs. It's included and held in the spacious dining room. There is tea and coffee available there 24-hours. For the money (this isn't a cheap place), it would have been nice to have something like hot eggs, bacon set out as well, but the breakfast was perfectly in line with many B&Bs. There's also cookies left out in the lobby all afternoon, till they are gone, a nice touch as well. There's also a library / living room on the first floor to relax or read some of the volumes, and two porches as well. There were a couple small issues, which i wouldn't count as major: The windows didn't have screens, so you couldn't really open the windows to let the cool night air in (my partner wondered if the historic nature of the building was the reason), there wasn't a mini-fridge in the room, which i really like (it could fit in the closet easily). A note on the town itself: While the town itself is somewhat of one-stoplight town, there are a few dining spots around (inexplicably, no restaurants are open anywhere around on Monday night!), the longest covered bridge in the world, the Simon Pearce glass HQ, a Harpoon brewery, and the sort of new agey but fun "Path of Life" sculpture garden, also within a half hour drive: Hanover NH (Dartmouth College), quaint Woodstock, VT, and Quechee Gorge. So there's plenty to do for a weekend trip. In fact, we did quite alot in our two night stay, and my only regret in staying there was i wasn't there longer to have a change to just relax and read, walk around the pond out back, and generally enjoy the house. And if it hadn't rained the 2nd night, i'd have liked another chance to star-gaze, since i didn't have a wish ready when i say the one shooting star the first night.
