We came to Chef Brad's because of the good reviews. It is proven to deserve the good rating! The decor is unique and it is the kind you don't really see often as a restaurant. Although it is not the type to my liking, It does somehow shows the crazy side of this place.... :) When we came, the cafe is closed. Only the food truck was open. You can eat outdoors, in picnic area, or in a colorful school bus!!! You place your order with the staff and wait for them to call your name in the speaker. There was a long line when we came. The wait time was not too bad. While waiting for our food, we walked around and saw a humming bird at the bird feeder in the vegetable garden. Pretty awesome. Our favorite is Asian BBQ pulled pork sandwich. The side dish sesame noodle tasted amazingly authentic. The Hamburg is also perfect. We would strongly recommend this place. read more

This is a fun side of the road food truck kinda place. Looking for lunch, we discovered this through Yelp. They only had outside seating, so think it's not year round. The outdoor seating was pretty basic picnic type tables which were OK. They only accept cash or Venmo, so come prepared. We both ordered hamburgers and fries. Just go! What a little gem. We stopped on our way back from stowe to CT for lunch. Tacos were phenom. Reasonably priced - around 5 to 6 per taco. 2 is a meal. Decoration was funky and cool. Hubby and I loved it and are happy we stopped in! ! We went in dec , so ate in the cafe , the bus and side area were closed. Loved the asian pulled pork taco better than the pork avacado one. What a cool spot! We stopped in for breakfast burritos before hitting the road. We were greeted promptly at the window & received our burritos freshly made to order within minutes! We were out in the woods of New Hampshire east of Hanover for the Labor Day holiday and wanted something casual but good for lunch. These guys turned up on Google - with a big bus and a big smile. We were heading to look at the glass stuff at Simon Pearce near there as well - so off we went. It was a glorious day with the sun out and we had a burger, fries etc. We sat just outside the bus on the benches round back. It was quiet but they have speakers through which we could hear the announcements for our order (nice one!) They have a few plants around as well. They had a pot with a mint plant on our table and it was SUPER strong smelling. We loved it. There was tomato as well - everything just smelled lovely. Happy Times! read more

My husband and I stopped here during our trip to Quechee Gorge. It's such a fun place to stop and eat some great bbq! The lady in the food truck was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Asian bbq pulled pork sandwich and the salad with grilled chicken. The pork sandwich was really juicy and delicious however, I expected there to be a more Asian flavored sauce on it... either it wasn't on there or it was just a very light sauce. The coconut curry slaw is incredible! Such a genius concoction. The salad with grilled chicken was good, and they offer a nice variety of salad/sauce options. The fries were so crispy and flavorful. FANTASTIC food truck!! Great outdoor eating and in the winter they are indoors in a sweet little restaurant. I LOVE their food! Tastes fresh (they buy local) and really has great flavor, great portions and a menu that constantly offers new things. I LOVE the falafel burger. I'm a gluten-free vegan and they happily make it into a salad for me. And the fries?!?! OH BABY - I LOVE their fries!! I send people here all the time and they agree, this place is a find! Plus it's right on route 4 and is absurdly easy to get to. The FAB part for me is that they are super environmental in their plates and packaging. WOOHOO! Ran into some folks here who say it's the best local joint in town! Only open for summer and fall hours, but they say they are doing breakfast and brunch through the winter in Quechee - so be on the lookout for that! Mostly fish items on the menu, some meaty options like a pork taco and a burger. Hardly any veggie options, but I feel like they are so accommodating here and would fix you up whatever you're craving. I had the seared salmon with a bed of field greens, it was delicious. Salmon was tender but crispy on the outside (a little oily but it's ok, I enjoyed it). The people who run this place are extremely personable and kind, and they remember things about you! You can eat in a wildly decorated school bus or outside at picnic tables. Apparently Brad (the chef) is a special one - some say he provides gourmet food! Slightly too expensive for the size and quality. I gave this place a try based on yelp reviews but this time it was a miss. Burger was undercooked. Fries were great. Fish had a taste of frozen food from the supermarket. Their sauces were acceptable. Not enough seating for a big company or if this place gets busy. 5 small tables outside plus three behind the house. Plus bus. Bus and chalk are nice for kids but it doesn't make food better. Just a little travel trailer on the side of the just north of Quechee Gorge, VT Chef Brad's Crazy Side is the perfect lunchtime bite. Between those in our party we had fish and chips, crab cake salad, fish tacos, sweet potato fries and a grilled chicken breast. My fish and chips were easily some of the best I've had. The pieces of fish were perfectly fried in a malty batter and were nice and crispy. The fries lightly salted and crispy as well. Everyone else also enjoyed their meals. My dad had heard good things from neighbors so we decided to come for dinner one night. The first odd thing was the hours. There were different hours listed on Yelp, Google, and on their voicemail (I since corrected the Yelp hours). I was really surprised to see that a place open for dinner closes at 8pm. It's a neat spot though. Sitting on top of a hill, there's a surf-themed food truck, outdoor tables, small garden, and a school bus (!!) with more seating. The school bus is obviously a big draw - it's well renovated and had lots of available seating. Pretty cool! After perusing Yelp reviews, I decided to order fish tacos. They were.... meh. The fish was beer battered and honestly pretty flavorless. Usually fish tacos are either grilled or breaded with something crunchy like panko. Then on top of the tacos was raw cabbage and a mystery pink sauce. It wasn't the worst thing I'd ever had, but it I was surprised so many Yelpers gave it rave reviews. Basically, this place is kitschy and sort of a fun novelty visit, but don't come expecting legitimately good food (at least in my experience). I can see it being good for kids. Honestly, forget about all the beautiful mountains and sites VT has to offer--- Chef Brad's is the reason I will be driving hours on hours to visit VT. My two friends and I stopped her on our way back from Quechee Gorge while on a camping trip. They were incredibly clean and abiding by all sanitation/COVID laws. We had spent the day exploring and were starving for some good food. Everything was moderately priced, but honestly it was so delicious, I would have paid thousands. We ended up sharing lots of plates including: crab cake sandwich (more crab then filling!), fish tacos, potato salad, fish & chips (delicious and perfectly fried), salmon salad, onion rings (all three of us are from various states, have done lots of traveling, and agreed these were the best onion rings we've EVER eaten), and shrimp tacos (also the best I've ever had). The homemade sauces were a dream compliment-- homemade ranch, tartar sauce, spicy mango, and the amazing coconut curry sauce. Thank you Chef Brad! Also, the exterior is pretty amazing-- great colors and a painted school bus turned into a dining room. I'd love to come back and see how popular this place is outside of Covid. What an unexpected surprise! We stopped at this roadside cafe and experienced one of the best meals ever! I had the blackened chicken sandwich which was as good as I've tasted at high dollar restaurants. My husband had the fish chowder which he declared the best ever. I use Yelp to find all of our good spots and this place did not disappoint. It's a stationary food truck with about five tables outside. Sign said they are limited by the state as to how many tables they can legally put out. Half of us got the fish tacos for $5 each. You just get the one taco so supplement with fries which were good. Taco tasted very fresh and light. DH got the Asian pulled pork which for $9 was a great deal as it was a large amount of pork and it came with a small order of fries and a tiny cup of curry coconut slaw which might sound weird but it was super tasty. DS got a beef burrito which was quite large and good. Lemonade may have been homemade. No bathroom but a very clean porta-potty back up the drive around side of another building. After eating we drove two miles down the road and walked around a few minutes checking out the Quechee gorge. Best "fuel up/rest stop" of our trip. Wish we weren't 2.5 hours away but we go by here once in a while and I would definitely recommend and come back. read more

Seating is outdoors and food served out of a trailer but the concept is well executed, giving the air of a beachside food shack.
