Lesson learned. Online menu says $13.99 was charged $15.99. Then of course add the almost 10% tax. Then the total price did not add up. Overcharged by about $5. Brisket tasted good, but was dry. (Probably why they coated it an off tasting "bbq sauce") Mac and cheese was grainy and didn't have much flavor. Even though we were hungry, we only ate maybe a third and took the rest home and doctored it up with seasonings and breadcrumbs to make it more palatable. read more

You walk in and order at the front and you have to go up the front and get your own meal. Aside from that, the "loaded" mac and cheese was legit just a pool of unseasoned mess with water. I was disappointed in the BBQ. Mine was dry and overcooked. Perhaps it was just a bad day. You order and pay up front as you enter and that forced you to tip right away if you are paying by card. The pulled chicken is amazing! The beef brisket literally melts in your mouth!! Driven by for awhile now and finally topped in. Seating indoor and outdoor. It was a hot day and the inside was not very comfortable. I feel they should of cranked the AC. It wasn't busy and service was very slow. I really hate to wait for the check then wait again for someone to take the check. I had the combo plate of pulled pork and pulled chicken. Comes with one side, side salad, and corn bread. The coleslaw was amazing. The cornbread was perfect and cooked in a small single serving cast iron pan. My side salad never came so when the waitress came, after the meal was finished, I mentioned I never received my salad and asked if it was ok if I just take a side of coleslaw to go. No apologies, I was told if I substitute then it would be an extra charge. That was in poor taste considering they messed up and never brought the salad. The chicken and pulled pork combo was good not great. I felt the chicken was on the dry side and they really skimp on the BBQ sauce. Most BBQ places have extra sauce at the table. My husband had the pulled pork sandwhich and really enjoyed it. The bun was soft, nice smoky flavor. They have soft drinks, beer and wine. For dessert we had a root beer float and a cannoli. We had the shared platter for 2 and it was very good! My only complaint was the pulled chicken which was dry. Otherwise, everything else was delicious! Fair at best. A long way from "Wicked Awesome". Tried the pulled chicken sandwich, the pulled pork loaded fries, and cole slaw. Pulled chicken was dry, bun was cold and right out of the bag. Fries were basic food service frozen fries, and the pulled pork was just barely ok. The cole slaw was the best thing we ordered, but it wasn't anything special either. All of this for only $32 plus tax. The food truck did not inspire me to ever want to try their restaurant, and no, you don't get a pass because it was the food truck. Cute little spot with friendly service. These guys feel like they know what they are doing with a passion. Honestly I have no complaints. Food was really good. Definitely passes as a thumbs up for BBQ enthusiasts. I'm finding that the more BBQ places I try, the further away from this idea that there is a particular way of doing things that's "RIGHT". So I'll just stick to describing everything. The Meat Sampler Junior is a sure way to go if your looking to try what they offer for a traditional BBQ fare. Up on their wall of beers they state this is "New England Style BBQ", I've been to quite a few BBQ joints in New England and I can assure you there is nothing familiar about all of them as a whole. So I'm not sure what a "New England Style" would be. Meat Sampler Junior comes with a couple slices of Brisket, 1/4 rack, pulled pork and pulled chicken with some nice maple rub seasoning in it. 1 Side and a Cornbread. A a small side salad to start things off if you're into that kind of thing. Let's dig in. First off, Brisket looked incredible! I don't know if it's always like this but it almost looked like thick cut slices of a tenderloin, maybe it was for all I know. A little more on the drier side but not enough for me to call it dry, if that makes any sense. The texture reminded me of a corned beef and the taste reminded me of a roast beef. The rub they use on it is nice but I've been use to the rubs with some zing to them and I couldn't even taste any saltiness. Maybe it aint suppose to here, and that's fine. So in all, I'm saying this thing didn't look like regular brisket but it looked damn good, didn't feel or taste like regular brisket but it was still pretty damn good. Only other thing was they traditionally pour some BBQ sauce on the brisket and I think that's a damn shame so I asked them not to, thank you for that. Alrighty, Rib Time! Short Ribs, Plenty of Rub, Meat was nice and smokey pink, and I could practically slide the bones out with two fingers. Nice smokey flavor to the meat, super tender, these things were smoking for a long time. Again, not too much to be said about the rub, but that's a good thing because it would have messed around with the smokey flavor of the meat. I could rip this stuff about like nothing, don't bother picking up the bone. Pulled Pork. Not much to say as far as flavor goes, but that's the reality you get with pulled pork I guess. Things that made this stuff stand out is it was shredded real nice, meat only, no bone or gristle or cartilage, works beautifully with their awesome BBQ sauce. Pulled Chicken, same deal as the Pork only that they mix in their maple rub and it was actually a nice surprise! Chicken was like the Brisket, on the drier side but not what anyone would call "Dry" still nice and moist especially on the inside of the scoop. The maple rub aint like maple sugar or anything. Hard to describe the taste. On the savory side but I could absolutely taste a sweetness, just not necessarily a "maple" sweetness, well ... maybe ... kinda ... I don't know. You won't be disappointed, it is good. Corn Bread is a nice treat! Comes in a tiny little Iron Skillet with a glob of yummy honey butter on top! Not sure if it's always like this but it was impossible to eat by hand. I've never seen anything break down so much. Extra gritty. But it had a real nice authentic taste to it, extra good with the butter. It bordered the texture of a dense biscuit. Nothing wrong with that though, just different, still yummy. Grabbed some Mac and Cheese. When in Vermont! Nice White Cheddar. Spiral macaroni with White Cheddar Cheese Sauce with a bit of black pepper! I was really hoping for some baked Mac and Cheese action, but I think maybe 2 out of the hundreds of BBQ joints I've gone to actually do the baked stuff. It was very good, real cheese sauce too. Grabbed some of the Loaded Baked Beans! No lies, this is pretty much a nice Bean Chili. Don't come here looking for that Molasses brown sugar stuff, these are large beans in some nice red sauce and some shredded meat. Just a little surprising, but it was great flavor. They got one kind of BBQ sauce. It was delicious. First thing I picked up on is that it's definitely a bourbon flavor sauce. Now I'm talking about that bourbon sauce, not BBQ sauce that has Jack Daniels in it. That Bourbon sauce flavor is excellent, and it even has a little tiny sour spicy vinegar taste to it which reminds me of the real BBQ sauce. Just a little much on the heavy sauce side for me to call it the real deal but it was great! Had to jump in on a skillet chocolate chip cookie for desert! Soft and gooey and warm! Nice vanilla Ice cream to mix! Amazing! They make their own Cannoli's too, and they throw in a nice special desert every now and then. Wow! The BBQ did NOT disappoint! I had a combo platter (ate WAY too much) with pulled pork, brisket, baked beans and cornbread. The pulled pork was just ok but the brisket was the shining star! Tender-cut-with-your-fork, just the right amount of smoke and juicy! I should have bought some to go and have it for breakfast, that's how good the brisket was. I also had an appetizer order of their maple bacon wrapped jalapeños with cheddar and cream cheese inside, there were 4 of them grilled/smoked...yummy! The ambiance of the place felt like a southern bbq place with picnic style tables and a bar, friendly staff that were knowledgeable of the menu items and were fairly quick in service despite being a busy Friday with almost a packed house. What a treasure! We had been traveling all day and were quite hungry. We found the restaurant full, but were greeted at the door by a kind smiling man willing to see what they had. He found 3 seats at the bar for us, and we were in! Drinks were offered immediately, complete with favorites suggested. We soon found out the kind man is David, the owner. He helped us pick from their most popular items. We tried the pulled chicken, brisket and crispy chicken sandwich. I'm still not sure which was the best. All amazing. By far the best bbq I have had in a very long time. The Mac and cheese was perfect. Cole slaw cold and crisp. Shoestring fries... all of my personal favorites done to perfection. We were driving home from Vermont and hopped over the boarder to get lunch at Macdonald's. We noticed "wicked awesome BBQ" in the same lot and opted for some Q instead. Greater my a sweet girl who took out to go order of two combo orders. 1-Wings and Ribs 2-Brisket and pulled pork. She told me it would Be about 15 minutes. I went outside to wait with my wife who was waiting in the car. I decided to walk out back to look at their BBQ rig only to notice it appeared not to be used for sometime, how long, no idea. I am a devout proponent of Q. Not only have I repeatedly made the BBQ trails in North and South Carolina but in Texas as well. I, myself have been smoking meat since 1985 and own several rigs myself including the stick burner, gravity smoker, Weber Smoky Mountain as well as a Recteq pellet so I know my way around Q for good or bad. After noticing the cold, neglected smoker the first alarm went off. The second went off after I received my order and drove off. Upon opening the wings and ribs my eyes gravitated to the mushy and sauce soaked baby back ribs. Pre-Sauced q is meant to substitute or enhance flavor so the pre sauce is a no unless there is something to hide and in this case there sure was. Other than the overly sweet sauce the ribs lacked and flavor whatsoever. There was no flavor of smoke or any detection of spice from the rub. This is a sure sign of precooked ribs that have all the sweet natural smoke flavor. Not only that but these baby backs, although not true ribs (I prefer St. Louis that pull away from the bone without breaking apart) were overly mushy as if they had been parboiled. Afterwards we opened the second box and found to lumps of sauce smoked shredded meat that were almost without distinction. Shredded brisket??? That was the third alarm. The meat was again sauce smoked and devoid of any flavor other than the sauce. I new for a fact that this was previously cooked because when I buy into it rather than meat juice I tasted watered down meat, literally I tasted water. As if that wasn't the worst of it the final alarm rang when i turned the pork over with my fork to distribute the sauce more evenly I took a bite and the pork was cold. Now, they had just opened so either the meat had sat from the day before or it was microwaved to order from the refrigerator (my assumption). I support small business and that is one reason we chose "Wicked...." Over Macdonald's but I work for my money and do not believe in being charitable to those who are without scruples she it comes to giving me what I paid 40.00 for. I am writing this for all who would dare venture into this Awesomely Wicked Pit of despair. PS, In Conclusion we through out the Pork and Brisket. read more

After a long day of travel, hubby and I were looking for something easy and delicious for dinner. This fit the bill. We both got platters, he had the brisket and I had the pulled chicken. I agree that there could be more BBQ sauce, but a simple ask and they'll bring you the bottle. The cornbread was amazing. Hubby had the baked beans, they were also delicious and the portions were extremely generous. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, but our waitress was attentive without being overly so.
