Buying from CoverGlass was, by far, the biggest mistake we made in redesigning and renovating our home. We were talked into a door by the Coverglass salesperson because it was "as good as a Panoramic Door, but cheaper." While we were unsure at first, I was convinced because our salesperson touted the warranty on the door and said he would personally be available anytime, anywhere to support us if there were any issues. This turned out to be the furthest thing from true. The door they sold us was from a mannufacturer that, it turns out, had almost no infrastructure and went out of business months after we purchased the door through Coverglass. Within weeks of install, the door began malfunctioning. Poor plastic parts that broke off during normal use, leaving the door to fall off the hinges and nearly crush me one night when I was simply trying to close it. But it wasn't just the lack of quality of the door. It was the poor service that we received upon following up to request fixes for the door per the warranty that Coverglass offered (not to mention the assurances that the salesperson, who had of course left the company nearly immediately after our sale, gave us). The problems went back to February, when my wife first contacted their aligned service contractor about fixing elements of this door that had broken. He arrived without the necessary parts and committed to returning the following day, which did not occur. Following that visit, there was no communication from him for three weeks, despite my multiple follow-up attempts through phone calls and texts, except to ask me for $500 to cover the repair that has not yet happened and, based on my initial conversation, part of the warranty. I was told there was a death in the family and one of the service people he was partnered with was unavailable for a long period of time. After finally scheduling a follow-up nearly a month later, he and his partner stayed for only 20 minutes and again claimed that he didn't have the required parts. They promised to return on the following day and once again did not show up due to a "flat tire" one of them allegedly got on the highway. The service person said they would be here first thing the following day, and yet again they did not show up. This time, it was because one of them was "paying a ticket at the police station and stuck in line." This was now the third unique, and increasingly flimsy, excuse I had received about why they were unable to make an appointment. At this point, I'm reduced to begging them and sending him hourly text messages about the timeline to fix the door, and receiving nothing but new excuses each time. In the meantime, I reached back out to Coverglass to ask for a different service person who could fix the door. They promised they would reach out to someone else and get back to me right away. That was nearly a week ago. I have since gotten no updates. This pattern of inconsistent communication and repeated failure to arrive prepared with the correct materials is unacceptable. We spent over $10,000 for a door that has given us less than a few months of functionality and been a true lemon, followed by service and communication that has been completely and totally disastrous. I truly regret giving our business to this company and it has really soured what should have been an exciting and wonderful renovation of our home. read more

Recently we moved in a newly-built modern home and we were sold on the beauty of this home and ample light and view of outdoors we get because of the Cover Glass USA patio and balcony glass doors. BUT, DON'T LET THE LOOKS OF THE Cover Glass FOOL YOU!! These glass doors are beautiful and look seamless at first glance. But they are quite impractical & falling apart, on the contrary. The company, Cover Glass USA in San Diego (their sole office, to the best of my research and knowledge), are non-responsive and completely irresponsible about their installs. Their glass doors installed by them in this nice modern house is only about a year old and the following have been sadly experienced by us living here now: 1) Almost half of their proprietary gaskets on the glass separations have been brittle, broken and fallen out, leaving a 3/8" to 1/2" gaps between the glass doors. This has driven our cost of Electricity and Gas to increase by a good margin, because our A/C and Heating system has to continuously run to fight the outdoor temperatures constantly moving in. Let alone the fact that when a car passes by, or people talk in the street, we can clearly hear and I don't have to explain how annoying and uncomfortable that is, especially in 4 of our bedrooms. 2) The glass doors that open to outside are absolutely impractical, as when we go to the balcony or in the patio, we cannot get back into the house when we close a glass door. Company does not offer any solutions, other than putting us on hold and when they answer rudely and arrogantly saying we need to seek a local contractor to install invisible door knobs. 3) Each patio or balcony glass door they have installed consist of 4 or more glass doors (the first one is pivoting glass door, and the rest are sliding glasses). When we open the first pivoting glass door, and then start pulling the other sliding ones, about 2 out of 3 of them slide kind of easily, but the remaining 1/3rd are very hard to slide open, and even harder to slide back and close, to a point that we have given up to slide some of them open, defeating their true purpose. Also, this has caused us to push with all our power to close them and causing a couple of them to suddenly bang to each other which has chipped the glass and messed up the looks. 4) We have a total of 10 sets of these glass doors in this 6,000 square foot home, some sets are 4 glass doors next to each other, some 5, some 6 and up to as many as 8 per each set. 3 of them, we cannot absolutely use to open, as the pivots are off-line and require banging on the bottom and/or on top the try to open them. We do not think this is safe, as it may break the 1/2 inch thick glass, therefore we just left them alone. Again the company is non-responsive about this issue as well. I cannot imagine this company can last too long, as they refuse to come and repair them and replace the proprietary gaskets, etc., calling it "normal wear and tear", although they are newly installed. We have offered to pay them, although these are obviously factory defects and poor workmanship, but they claim they will not service this property for confidential reasons they cannot divulge. We are consulting attorneys now to possibly file a suit against the homeowners, AND of course Covered Glass USA who are the obvious cause of our aggravation and costly energy bills. The homeowners did disclose to us that they are still having an ongoing battle with Covered Glass USA because of issues they had with the installation of these glass doors that cost them over $100,000 to install and hundreds of thousand Dollars more in leak damages caused by Covered Glass USA for outdoor rain leaking into the railings and entering the house and going through walls below, that caused molds and mildew, which the homeowners/builders had to address using other contractors, after numerous attempts to get them fixed by Covered Glass USA failed because they were not responsive (which is our experience as well). As I said earlier, DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THE GOOD LOOKS of these Covered Glass USA doors, as not only they are IMPRACTICAL, also the company that makes them and installs them is rude and non-responsive. In addition, there is NO OTHER COMPANY that has the means or know-how to FIX OR REPLACE THEIR PROPRIETARY ROLLERS, HINGES, GLASSES, GASKETS, ETC. Also NO OTHER COMPANY will even MAINTAIN THEIR GLASS DOORS either. And since I have a good feeling they will be driven out of business soon, THEIR GUARANTEE WILL NOT BE WORTH EVEN A DOLLAR, specially if you have them installed outside of the San Diego area, where the company has their only offices. And if Cover Glass USA does not have the proper staff to honor their guarantee and/or service their own product beyond San Diego, HOW DARE THEY advertise and provide installation of their product anywhere else??!! Kind of makes you think, right? Do your own due diligence BEFORE you pay them your hard-earned cash. read more

YESTERDAY we posted our 1 star review on Cover Glass USA. I am a 77 year old woman with cancer and my husband is 80. We are known to everyone as Grandma and Grandpa. We wanted to express our opinion and aggravation with this company. Immediately after our review, my daughter began to receive phone calls and email threats from the owner to sue us for slander, so we took it down. I'm tired of threats and bullying. I am old but I have an opinion! So here is our earlier post: We contacted cover glass and ordered an invisible style replacement for our broken slider. A gentleman came to the house to measure and we were quoted approx 10k for the new slider. Our daughter sent them over 8k to get started. God Bless Daughters! They said which way do you want it to open? I kept walking in and out of the opening in my living room to show them where it should open. I physically demonstrated that I walk in and out the left side of the slider, facing out because we have furniture on the other end. After much to do they came and installed a threshold. It stuck up out of the track several inches, and we kept tripping over it! Grandpa finally hurt himself pretty bad - he uses a cane and couldn't quite maneuver the stepping over the track. He had to go to the VA after falling and is still in pain. Dumbest thing I ever saw, to have to step over a threshold to get outside. Months later they came to install the windows. They were not invisible style and the panels opened to the right, opposite of what I asked for. They were rude and argued. I was so upset, I sent them away. We may be old but, we are not stupid! We spent the winter with a 10 by 12 foot opening in our living room! Since Halloween, these people have coerced, threatened, increased the price to finish, called us liars, and threatened to PUT A LIEN ON OUR HOME for the rest of the money. ALL I WANTED WAS A LUXURY ITEM. A BEAUTIFUL INVISIBLE WINDOW TO COME AND GO ONTO MY PATIO WHERE MY FLOWERS AND PLANTS ARE THAT I TEND TO DAILY. WHERE GRANDPA CAN SIT AND REMEMBER OLD TIMES. TO SAFELY COME AND GO DAILY WHEN OUR GRANDCHILDREN VISIT. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE. WE HAVE FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM FOR OUR MONEY BACK AND STILL HAVE NO SLIDING GLASS DOOR. I have to say this company staff could use a course on improving customer service social skills. I have been meaning to catch this place open for months but my schedule doesn't easily allow for it. I showed up early today to a locked door and a sign that says "by appointment only." Seeing a coffee shop across the street, I decide to have a cup of coffee while waiting for an appointment. While I am waiting to make an appointment request, some guy barges into the coffee shop and before I could ask him a question, he threatened to tow my car. I explained to him I am attempting to learn about ordering glass and he stated, "We don't do custom glass, what do you mean, custom?" Then he storms out. The look of his annoyance and his not even giving me the courtesy of asking questions about his business leaves much to be desired in the realm of social graces. Hmmpf! Sorry I hung up on the lady who answered the phone. I was facing hostility and nervously hung up on her. I will say they get two stars for quickly answering the phone this time. read more

We have worked with Matt to install $15 K frameless door/window in our dining room. we were promised install by Thanksgiving, This company requests payment at each step- we paid each invoice in full after the work. on Nov 9 i was told 10 days to glass install. then Matt sent an email saying 10-14 days. Matt then told me he was leaving the country for the Thanksgiving week. no one contacted me about a delay. MY contractor contacted the company and they said the install would be early December. SO...i have a gaping hole in my dining room with plastic and plywood for Thanksgiving. Barry is one of the owners- i have NEVER been spoken to in such a demeaning, condescending manner than how Barry spoke to me. He spoke over me, commented he didn't like my tone, and had no interest or empathy whatsoever in what i was experiencing with a hole in my wall for Thanksgiving. i was PROMISED installation 10 days post track installation, then it changed to 10-14, now its a month. i never would have even known about the delay had i not contacted them. Supply chain cannot be an excuse for everything, especially for promising one thing and delivering another. i recommend avoiding this company at all cost...it's not worth the angst they caused me and most definitely, i think Barry needs to come down off of whatever pedestal he has placed himself on and learn how to speak to customers. I admit i was angry, but in my estimation, HE made a bad situation FAR FAR worse. All of this is factual information. i have the emails and recorded the call with Barry. over and over, every time i have called, i have experienced ZERO customer service. do yourself a favor and please. please read the horrible yelp reviews prior to making a decision to work with these people . my opinion is that they DO NOT CARE and definitely have not produced what they promised me. i shouldn't allow people like Barry to ruin my day, but they way he treated me was so horrible that i am still shaking. read more

Original submission 10/20/2015: We had Cover Glass install the glass doors in our Master Bedroom. The results are fantastic and provides a "Wow!" factor to our home. It was such a success, we are now in the midst of having the same glass doors installed in our downstairs Family Room. We worked with Matt and Barry, the owner to purchase a bifold sliding glass enclosure for our outdoor tv. They outlined the timeframe to complete our project and executed the plan onetime. We did have a small issue with a missing header piece that the installers said was not part of the plan but after sending a picture to Matt the owner came out and got the extra piece ordered. I had Barry & Matt Cohen install Cover Glass Doors in my Living Room, Dining Room, and Master Bedroom. When closed, they appear to be beautiful, massive "Picture Windows", until you open them up to let the outside in. The transformation from old-school sliders was truly amazing. Compliments from family, friends, and neighbors are non-stop. Even the installation experience was excellent and leaves nothing to chance. They begin with a top quality product and 1st Class installation/Service crew. Their installers were timely, neat and clean. Honestly, I couldn't be more impressed and pleased. read more

Very sad to say that these guys are either wildly successful and no longer need to reply to inquiries or that service has fallen off to the point where the management and sales team no long respond to care. We purchased $8k in windows from them last summer and after some small service issues got what we needed and all was good. Have tried to get them to come measure for heavy glass railing this summer and cannot get them to call back after no shows. Regardless of whether this level of service is due to success or decline, it's not a position you want to get into with any contractor coming into your home. read more

I've only had my window system for a couple months but so far I think it's a fantastic product. I was considering a La Cantina window before I noticed Cover Glass on a neighboring property. The ability to have no frame was very attractive and has proven to be a much better decision for my application. 4 glass panels stack at similar width as 1 la cantina panel, so I went from potentially having ~12" stacked down to just over 4". I'm curious to see how it will hold up, so far so good! Working with Cover Glass was a little frustrating but in the end all worked out well. I worked with Matt, who was very knowledgeable. The frustration stemmed from delayed responses, as well as delay in delivery of the product, which held up my remodel a little bit. They have a great product and you get the feeling they know it, as they are not jumping any hurdles to accommodate requests and their customer service was not the best. I would definitely recommend this product and will reach out to Matt for future projects where this system is applicable. read more

Beautiful! I had Cover Glass install 3 large panels 7 feet high in our living room which transitions to the patio and pool area. This product pretty much changed the way we interact with our home and we are able to enjoy our outdoor seating area a lot more because of Cover Glass. I love the flexibility it has and the panels really do slide like butter. I also love positioning the system with air gaps and opening up the entire system on a beautiful day. Matt walked us through the entire process since the first day we contacted them this Summer. Matt and his team removed the old framed sliding glass doors that were in the house when we purchased it (Corona Del Mar) and installed their moveable system. I absolutely love it! we can push all the panels into the corner and now the living room has an unobstructed view of the ocean. I couldn't recommend them more. We purchased an entire house of Cover Doors, and they're amazing. They are so much better than the bifolds we had before and the La Cantina we were considering. I think the price is pretty reasonable as well, and no hidden costs - it's just a flat price per linear feet, which I really appreciated. We've had some issues, but they always come right out to correct them. The doors do take a long time to arrive, but that's because they're custom made. Matt did a good job of communicating the length of time as well as notifying us about a few delays. It's really helpful if you use a contractor who has worked with them before, as there are certain idiosyncrasies that not just any one would understand. read more

We had one minor adjustment to be made to the weatherstripping. They cheerfully returned, fixed it and we couldn't be happier!
