Expect to communicate your needs clearly and to hear back within 24 hours. It helps to not leave things to the last minute. You will be asked to measure each item and send a picture of it. This allows the haulers to come prepared to do the job as hassle free as possible. Like they seriously know what they're doing. I was worried we "had too much stuff" or that this or that thing wouldn't fit out the door. And we had two different apartments we were asking them to pick up from. Turns out I had no reason to worry. It maybe took an hour for them to remove a table, chairs, bookshelf, two couches, and some other ungainly stuff I probably have forgotten by now. Made it look easy, even though I know it is not and appreciate the effort immensely. Super impressive, with reasonable prices for professional services. They move items out of your home and into a trailer, and when finished, they haul it away. Easy peasy. When I have to go toe to toe with the hoarder in the fam I know who to call.

He was incredibly lazy and had to take a break after about 20 minutes of barely doing any work. His worker did the majority of the work. He also proceeded to give me incorrect and terrible advice for how to replace the area with pavers and ensuring proper drainage. He of course wanted me to retain him for additional services, which is likely why he gave me incorrect advice, which was to just remove soil and not put in a french drain system (also recommended only an inch or so of crushed gravel under the pavers?!). He was disrespectful to my property and even his own worker. At one point his car alarm went off causing significant disruption in the neighborhood; Joe slowly addressed the area, taking a minute to just get to his car, showing no concern with the disruption he was causing. He appeared to be a little "touched" and possibly had some developmental disability, which is why I handled him gingerly. However, that is no excuse for being so unprofessional and not having a basic understanding of how drainage works or how to properly utilize gravel. He is one of those guys who likes to talk about what he has done or could do, but has little to show for his decades of running this "business." Avoid at all costs.
