While the manager seemed to be truly knowledgeable about pool products and chemicals, we felt mocked the entire time we were in the store. We were basically told Intex wasn't a 'pool' and that they didn't have any ladders or vacuums that would work with it, despite the reviews I'd read online about using the Zippy for intex pools and the roll up ladder. They mocked our water "sample container", our "pool" and even me, as they laughed, giggled and questioned me the entire time we were in the store about how I reminded them of another customer. When I expressed directly that I felt they were being mean, we were told it was a long day, we could either laugh with them or just stand there and stare at them. When we asked to purchase the chemicals necessary to stabilize the pool based on the tests they were able to complete, we were not given any information on options, such as sizes, costs, etc., just presented the chemicals and the bill. We should have turned around and walked out sans purchase, but we paid the bill and left. IMHO, I would visit ANY pool store in the area EXCEPT this one!!

After having poor experiences with some of their competitors, I've been very pleased with their professionalism and attention to detail while still offering competitive prices. I appreciate their work order reports and the very detailed pictures that they include. I also wanted to call out two of their employees, specifically -- Nahum and Miguel. This year, due to all of the snow, our pool cover caved in and the pool cover pump accidentally pumped out most of the pool water before we discovered it. That, coupled with lots of leaves in the pool, made for a much more difficult opening this year. Nevertheless, Nahum and Miguel went the extra mile to get the pool to open very clean and clear. They spent extra time but did so with a very positive, helpful attitude that I appreciated. I would highly recommend them.

While our original experience and the delays remain unchanged, it is only fair to acknowledge their effort to make things better. After more than six weeks, our pool liner project is still not complete because Millennium Pools has measured the liner incorrectly multiple times. We are now waiting for a third liner and hoping it finally fits. To make matters worse, the company removed our old liner and left our pool empty and without a liner for two weeks while we wait for the replacement. What should have been a routine liner installation has turned into a lengthy and frustrating process. The company has offered no discount or compensation for the delays, inconvenience, or loss of use of our pool, despite the fact that the mistakes were entirely their own. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars with this company and expected better service, communication, and accountability. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Millennium Pools.

From design, construction management, the quality of the contractors and their work to the quality control, I was informed and prepared every step of the way through completion. This was a large project with multiple contractors in addition to A&S. They worked with me to ensure everything was completed in a timely manner and accommodated my schedule as needed when other parts of the project had be completed before A&S could move forward. There were no major obstacles during construction and it was easy to work through the small, normal hiccups you deal with during construction. I can't say enough good things about A&S. There are not a lot of gunite pool contractors in RVA and A&S was clearly the most thorough when I was choosing a contractor while having a very competitive price. Special shoutouts to Colin for being on site over 25 times to put eyes on each phase of construction and ensure the work was done properly before moving to the next phase. Chloe is an absolute rockstar handling scheduling and direct communication with me to keep me informed of when contractors would be coming and what exactly would be happening while they were on site. She was proactive initiating communication with me and I never once had to chase her down if I needed to speak with her. With a background in construction myself I did months of research prior to meeting with A&S, but our designer Tom helped me dial in the design. We worked through some specific site challenges and concerns. His attention to detail and ability to work through those obstacles ensured there were no surprises or unexpected costs later in the project. I only had to speak with Vicky, the construction manager, once and she listened and handled my concern swiftly.
