One stopped in front of our truck and sat there for 5 minutes. The police said they are just coon hunters and come there every night rounding up their dogs and through the park is their only way in since the other side of the park is hunting land owned by the same people. Also, they own TWO casinos you have to drive through their lots to even get into the trailer park. Yes.. I said TRAILER PARK! It's a literal trailer park with over half the park being permanent residents who roam around and help themselves to trespassing through your RV spot to get to the lake that I'm pretty sure has zero fish. Six hours and not a bite. We have talked to two travelers who left out early. One forfeited quite a bit of money and had his lawn chairs stolen too. Also.. construction starts at 4 am so all you hear is tractors and beeping once the coon hounds finally quiet down. The sheriff said this goes on seven days a week. And the few "cabins" they have are tiny and used by maintenance to stay or someone who's been gambling and compt a room for the night. They're are maybe 4 other campers here at the moment and they all seem upset at the false advertisement. This is not a tranquil woody area. The lake does look nice but weedy off shore fishing and no bites at all. You also need to watch for gators and snakes. I can't believe we are stuck here after paying for 10 days. We're on day 3 and I'm about to just eat the money and make the 12 hour trip home. I'll definitely post some pictures tomorrow. DO NOT COME HERE unless you're just coming to gamble and need a place to crash. Just not friendly overall and NO REFUNDS! Highly upsetting

Don't waste your money. Not even worth the $35 a night. Make the drive to Robert and stay at one of…read morethe numerous ones on that exit. As a full time camper this is the only park I've ever been in awe how they are still even running. Customer service lower than 0 stars and the up keep of the park would look a lot better if they weren't so worried about acting like they are above the law yelling at paying customers every chance they get.

I just spent last weekend, 5-5-23 ,in Granny's cabin at Retreat Cabins…read more My brother has been going for nearly 20 years, but this was my first time. We rented Granny's place. It was just us two and the pup. I enjoyed my time sitting on the porch in the hot tub when it was storming just as much as I did on the water. The cabin is so nice! They really go the extra mile. They had a coffee maker and 2 different coffees. There were plenty of towels and the AC is COLD!!!! The hot tub was a nice way to wind down. It's a family owned and operated business. There are only 4 or 5 cabins on the whole property. I will be back as it's only 1.5 hours away from my home in Metairie. Mrs. Janice and her family are good people. Give this place a try when you want to get away.

If your looking for a peaceful relaxing cabin this is a great choice . We've stayed in the Granny…read moretwice I believe it was our 12th anniversary and we just stayed for our 18th year anniversary. The best part is it's only about 2 hours from Baton Rouge about a hour from Biloxi and New Orleans. The Granny is the most secluded cabin they have. Each cabin has its our personal hot tub on the porch with we totally utilized! Each cabin has everything you need aside from groceries , charcoal and wine! The Granny is just a one bedroom but they have a couple cabins that are bigger . Your cabin sets only foot steps from a nice fishing lakes with ducks. There is a little small boat you can use for free. There is also a swing and a fire pit if you want to have a fire. This would be great for just a couples get away , a family getaway or a family reunion since there are four cabins I believe in total. The town of Poplarville is nice and seems to be a little lost in time which we really enjoyed. Our first visit we got massages I think we paid $60 each which wasn't bad. We couldn't get in touch with the lady last time though . There is a grocery store which we usually get some steaks to bbq for atleast one night. There is still a full service gas station with the old style pumps which is pretty cool. The only downside is there's not much to do and everything closes around 3pm on a Saturday except for the restaurants, gas stations, and grocery store. The only bad thing about the cabins is the owners are hard to get in touch with. Also if you like to snuggle and watch movies you may want to bring your own tv since the one in the cabin is around a 20 inch it's very small . You have to leave a message and they do call back. We were hoping to extend our stay but couldn't get them on the phone . Other than that it's a nice break from reality. All in all we will be returning because it's peaceful , the hot tub is awesome and the price isn't that bad at $125 a night .

Searching for…read morea new apartment in Hammond was somewhat complex since we were moving from Chicago, but the staff really made it a positive experience from start to finish. While we are sad to leave as we begin our next chapter in life, if you are looking for an apartment community that truly has it all, look no further. First, the staff is outstanding. Working with Rebecca Elliott in leasing and Chris Magboo in management has been a fantastic experience. After three years living here, I can honestly say they have always been approachable, responsive, and genuinely cared about the residents. It is rare to find a team that is so consistently helpful. The community itself is beautiful, clean, and exceptionally well maintained. The grounds and common areas are always kept in great condition, and the maintenance staff pays attention to even the smallest details. Those little things really make a difference and create an enjoyable place to come home to every day. I especially loved living on the third floor because of the high ceilings, which made the apartment feel even more spacious. Our two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment was much larger than we expected and included two walk-in closets, a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a private balcony, and plenty of storage throughout. It was a comfortable place to call home. "The Waters" also hosts many community events throughout the year, which really adds to the living experience and helps create a sense of community. While I personally did not use the pool, fitness center, or clubhouse very often, they are all beautiful amenities and other residents consistently speak highly of them. It is also a huge bonus to have one of the best gyms in the Hammond area located directly across the street, offering even more wellness amenities. Overall, I am truly sad to be leaving "The Waters," but I am excited for the next residents who will call our apartment home. It was a wonderful place to live, and it gave us so many memories that we will always look back on with appreciation.
